Review Stanley St Cafe - St. Ives

Wonderful owners that make sure everything is to your liking. Ordered lamb dish with hummus, poached eggs, and pita which was perfect. Favourite cafe in the area!

Unfortunately, one of the worst breakfast I’ve had in a long time. So bad I was unable to finish it. There was so much “salsa” which tasted like tomato sauce on my dish that the bread was wet and soggy and it’s all I could taste. The eggs were the most exciting part of my meal. Coffee was incredibly weak and I was unable to finish it as well. Not sure I’d return or recommend you to either.

Best coffee on the north shore. Great vibe and exceptionally friendly staff. They remember how you like your coffee and always make you feel welcome. Finally a melbourne quality Cafe in st ives.

Our first impressions of this cafe were a little questionable, as the venue is tucked down an alley and opens directly onto the car park. However, we quickly re-calibrated our expectations upon entry. The funky vibe and industrial feel is quite edgy, with modern music playing in the background. Service was prompt and the coffee was superb. I ordered a meal from the specials board that incorporated delicious figs with prosciutto, a culinary match made in heaven. My partner ordered the Goodfella which features crumbed eggplant. After savouring my dish he said I definitely ordered the better meal. I was half expecting this cafe to be pretentious, but I was pleased to note diners of all age groups, including seniors and young families. Overall a great experience, although one of the waitresses we found quite charmless. Maybe we caught her on a bad day.

Lovely cafe. Good food choices. Very popular with locals. Great coffee. Good service. Will go back.

Great coffee, lovely spot, above average food but slow service. Limited options in the local area means this cafe could easily be the standout but painfully slow service really holds the place back. The menu has a great range of meals that are all tasty. Staff are delightfully friendly but it seems they’re just short a chef in the kitchen. Popularity on the weekends amongst locals only adds to the wait time unfortunately. Would be head a shoulders above the competition if they could hire another cook.

Great little Cafe tucked away in St Ives. Food was great, wait time and prices were horrible. When we arrived the Cafe was full of ppl having coffee, so assumed the food would be out pretty quickly but unfortunately we waited 35 mins for our food ☹ The food was good portion sizes except only getting 2 cherry tomatoes they were delicious so made up for the wait time. However, $57 for 2 breakfast, 1 coffee and an Orange juice is outrageous. No wonder not many ppl were eating when we arrived.....No one can afford the food !! 😳 Tables also weren't1.5 meters apart, and only half the staff were wear masks with noone waiting to order in line wearing masks.

Love this place! Coffee is amazing, food is great and always greeted with friendly service. The American Cheeseburger is my fav. Thank you Stanley St Cafe for all you do.

Extensive and appealing menu for both breakfast and lunch. Great combination of flavours. Fresh healthy ingredients and tasty all at the same time.

Pretty cool cafe with easy parking and friendly service. The artwork and details such as the water pipe were interesting. Food was average.

We tried the schnitzel with Turkish bread and chips - serving size huge and suitable for two people to share. The Turkish bread was over toasted and hard to eat, the schnitzel itself and chips good. The other dish we tried was the nourish bowl - nice combination of veggies and goats cheese was yum. Salmon itself cooked for longer than my personal liking and oh how I wished the egg had runny yolk.

Nice big brekkies, good coffee and great service. Love this little local gem. Place is pretty full on weekends, but there has always been a table free for good breakfast. Recommended!

Stanley St Cafe is a truly local gem. My sister and I gave it a visit recently as recommended by a friend of ours. We ordered a BIRCHER MUESLI and a SMASHED AVO with mushrooms on the side. The guy who served us was super nice that he divided both of the dishes evenly into seperate plates as he knows that we are sharing. Definitely love

In terms of taste, the bircher muesli was just perfect, not too sweet at all and you can tell all the ingredients are fresh. The smashed avo was amazing as well.

We will definitely revisit soon, it is a cafe that everyone should try out (not just st ives locals)!

For more food journeys, feel free to follow me on instagram: @pignic_

Hard to fault this place. Allpress coffee, brisk cheerful service and a great selection of breakfast items that actually taste as good as they sound!

Decent size servings, reasonably priced. Very slow service on a Sunday morning, but isn't everywhere?! Good brunch spot. (Not the best coffee) great options on the menu for all food lovers

My staple coffee for the last 12 months... Sadly I moved out of the area. The coffee really is amazing!! Always freshly baked cronuts or other goodies every morning. Great brekky menu, atmosphere is chilled out. Only downside and it's not really... But the cyclists flock here!! Haha

Really delicious and different breakfast menu! Don't usually come to st Ives but a friend recommended this cafe and it lived up to expectations. Prompt, friendly and polite staff, would highly recommend the freshly brewed chai latte to any chai drinkers, probably one of the best I've had in Sydney!

Good coffee, nice little place, the staff I feel a hot and cold. Hospitality means exactly that! Your place of business should be more than just a place you open and turn up to. It really doesn't hurt to put a smile on your face and be present, the customer no matter who they are should be treated like gold! They are the reason you are there. The mum made me feel like I was an inconvenience to her day. The son I think is the barista was kind of happy to be there.

A real shame really.

One of my regular coffee catch up place around this area. Usually get friendly service there. Coffee's good most of the time and guess it all depends on who's in charge of the shot that day... Tucked away in quiet location, just off Stanley St, with parking spaces.
Fig and walnut bread with ricotta cheese and pistachio is my all time favourite there. Breakfast bacon & egg roll is good too.

Very busy cafe on weekends (it is pretty much packed with cyclists!) so I do recommend you book. The food is delicious so it is worth the effort. The coffee could be a little hotter on arrival at the table, but more than made up for by the great tasting food. Perfectly poached eggs and delicious middle-eastern styled dishes. I haven't tried them, but the kronuts are apparently fantastic (they do look yummy).

The café occupies a generous area which has been comfortably fitted out for café guests. The café uses Allpress coffee, which for some coffee connoisseurs will be great news. The food focus is breakfast, lunch and brunch. The food comes well-presented and looks nourishing as well as tasty. For instance, a hearty breakfast option is poached eggs, fresh figs, halloumi, eggplant and crushed pistachio on New York rye bread. A lighter option may be the bircher muesli, which certainly looks delicious. The servings are generous, so if you’re going to eat at this café, it’s probably best to go there feeling hungry. Fresh juices, iced coffees and teas and milk shakes are on offer, as well as a selection of teas. The café welcomes families, prams and toddlers and the staff are friendly. We got to the café midafternoon, and by this time the daily stock of sweets and pastries were somewhat depleted, but it would be worthwhile showing up early enough to try a Brewtown Newtown crounut with your coffee or tea, when you decide to visit. A family run café which welcomes children with open arms. Little ones will love the bicycle hanging from the ceiling and the cute babycinos and you will love the coffee and food – winner!
