Review Topolino's - St Kilda

Bas Schilders
Good, hones, Italian food at a reasonable price. The service was excellent and the food was great. Highly recommend checking out the specials. One of us had their fish of the day and it was excellent! And a huge portion of it too. The only thing that was odd was that they did not have a Chianti on the wine list which for an Italian restaurant is a bit of a no no.

I love Topolino's and I recently went there with my family after not being there for over 20 years (when I used to live in St Kilda, now being a Sydney Sider). It was better than I remembered and the staff we're wonderful and we loved the food. I can't wait till I get back there on my next Melbourne visit!

Pizzas didn’t look too appealing, so we took the pasta. It was delicious.

Open till late, friendly service, and great pizzas. I loved the seafood pizza (tastiest I've had!) And the 5 cheese pizza was good too. Beers and ciders are well priced. We will be coming back, thanks for looking after us and serving us dinner at midnight!
David Taylor
Service was excellent. My only concern was the Risotto Pollo was not fully cooked. The liquid hadn't been reduced enough so it was like a thick soup and some of the rice was crunchy. It's a shame as it tasted sensational but just undercooked.

Yum! Been here twice and each time its the yummy bouillabaisse! So tasty! 😋

Some of the best Italian food I’ve ever eaten. I swear I was saying “oh my god” after every mouthful

Awful service and overly rude manager with back handed comments and an attitude I’ve never seen from someone running or managing a business. I expect a professional attitude from all staff and especially a manager, he does not deserve the position if he is always as arrogant and feels more than comfortable arguing with the customers with such aggression. appalling. I do not recommend this restaurant, unacceptable behaviour and disrespect to us. i do not often think to leave a review for businesses, and for a bad reason i would usually give the business the benefit of the doubt, but this was too much to let go no one should be able to act this way and abuse their power like this.

Couldn't recommend a better place to enjoy somewhere to wine and dine, catch up with friends or family, celebrate a birthday or special occasion, or just a casual meal to fill your stomach - always classy but relaxed and up-beat vibe and guaranteed exceptional service by all the friendly and inviting staff waiting to be of service to you. Never gone home dissatisfied, never had a bad meal, and never get sick of going here to eat. Warm and welcoming are an understatement. Don't know what you're missing out on until you've eaten at Topolino's St.Kilda.

As always, our experience at Topolino's was the best it could have been. And even though the restaurant was at capacity on Saturday night, they still went above and beyond to cater for all of our needs. Even as far as making room in their fridge for our 1m x 66cm cake! Even had the owner of the restaurant helping us pack away the rest of the cake at the end of the night and gifting the birthday girl a whole container of lollies and cookies. We have been to Topolino's a countless number of times now and have never been disappointed by the food nor the staff and atmosphere. Highly recommend it everyone!

Topolinos is an institution! Been coming here for 40 years+, best pizzas I’ve ever eaten, great friendly vibe/service and consistently great food anytime of the afternoon through to early hours of the morning. Always well looked after by Matty, Scott or any of the staff.

It is wonderful to find a place to eat & drink in St Kilda in the early hours, especially on a week night. We arrived after 1.00am. The food was delicious with generous servings & was well priced. The staff were friendlly & attentive. I will be back!
Brian Duggan
Excellent. Busy, but understandably so as it was very good food and service. My daughter is fructose and gluten intolerant and the waitstaff (I didn't get the young lady's name but she was from Italy) were very helpful and understanding. The meals were delicious and portion sizes generous. We'll definitely be back.
Julia Elson
Had a surprise birthday dinner here last Friday night, it was a meal to remember. The staff were so helpful and the food was incredible. Would definitely suggest Topolinos for large bookings!
Scott T Brown
Currently convenient as it is close to my temporary Accom. Its a good atmosphere and the pizzas a very good. I had the Mexican and it was yum. I would recommend it to friends family.

A big thank you for the lovely meal that we ate when we went out for dinner on Wednesday, 20 September. We ate fettuccine entree followed by seafood marinara pizza (large) which the chef made two for us; as he was feeling that the first one was slightly over cooked. Driving all the way from Geelong just to eat a meal there (as we've been coming to the restaurant for 24 years) was worth it as always, as the service and meal was fantastic. thank you very much as always. We tell so many people great things about you. We tried to give our complimentary pizza to the homeless at the soup van on the way back to our car (pay it forward), but they had left. So we enjoyed it for dinner tonight. A big thank you once again.

One of the best restaurants lovely friendly staff great atmosphere we enjoyed our meal so much

Stopped in for a dinner with the family, food was great value for money. Large menu. Managed to lose my phone during the meal, however the staff were super helpful and ending up finding it and calling to let me know. Thanks guys!!

We had a great night with family celebrating mum and dads 50th wedding anniversary. Food and service was amazing. We will certainly be back.
Indiarna Louca
Incredible food and service, plus the serving sizes are huge, amazing place
Julia Meerovych
WARNING.... I was absolutely appalled tonight when I had ordered topolinos bouillabaisse and I had found a fly in my soup. When I had approached the manager in charge and the owners son who had told me the fly must have got in my soup as I was sitting close to the window. I could not believe the absolute disrespect and rudeness that he and his manager in charge showed me. Last year I had a moth in that exact soup. This is the last time I ever step foot in that dirty unhygienic restaurant. Food safety inspectors need to be called to this place as someone could get really sick.

Our favourite go-to for pizza/pasta/steak/seafood... Yum!!

Great pizza, a nice Pinot, live jazz, great dessert and Coffee......... What's not to love.
Ben Monnaz
It started with a rockstar carpark, served within 30sec of walking in, seated within a minute, 4 kids, 7 and under. Highchair sorted Warm cheerfull greeting Perfect timing for the order Food for the kids sorted quickly Ours followed shortly behind, gave us time to sort them out without our food going cold. Food was outstanding So glad we decided to go there. Fantastic experience Do yourself a favour

Simon
The perfect reliable Australian Italian restaurant. Top quality ingredients in abundance. Never disappoints.
Claudio Lee
It is one of the best pizzas i have had so far in Melbourne.
The prosciutto and rocket pizza is amazing! I would recommed it to everyone!
Stafd is friendly and the vibe is great
Christina Chan
My absolute favourite place to eat pasta. The penne del bosco is the key to my heart. Always cooked to perfection and tastes like it's made with a lot of love. Best comfort food and always super friendly staff. Pizza's are also the bomb from here too!

Best pizza in St Kilda!
Lets Go Vegan
‘Veganised’ the bologna pizza. Swapped the bologna sauce for Napoli and had soy cheese instead of parmesan. Delicious pizza!
Family size is perfect for 2 (hungry!) people
Ash.m.watters
Many vegan options, you can pretty much make any pizza vegan and it is nutritious! This is what I crave at 11pm on a Saturday night! Very happy to go back 😋

Thursday night dinner was planned as team dinner and we visited Topolina's. Once you enter through glass door and head straight to specious area inside. Staff welcomes you with smile and usher to wooden chairs low seating.
The restaurant was busy with guests from adults to kids. Staff was busy serving drinks, food to all. Our starters were Mediternean chips and Facica garlic bread. Both were yummy and finished in no time. Veg pizza with two halves of different toppings of family size was absolutely enjoyable.
Calamari and tiger prwans was also tasty.
Quick service and good taste makes Topolina's good place to visit for dinner 👍

Best ravioli I had out so far! Friendly service , generous servings, reasonable prices, and family friendly! Tiramisu not bad too( had better tho ;) )Definitely recommend it!
Denise Chew
Fantastic food and amazing service! It was our first time there and we were blown away by how delicious everything was (we ordered chilli calamari, supreme/meat lovers pizza, vegan margarita and tiramisu) and the massive portion sizes. Would totally recommend to everyone!
Dan
Have been here for a meal quite a few times and never disappointed. Waiting services are great, staff attentive. We both had pasta (putanesca & carbonara) and it was delicious. Highly recommended. 👌
Ash
Food Order:
Chilli Calamari - 5/5. Side note: the portion size was very small for this dish. It would be great if the size was increased to a medium bowl.
Amore Pizza(Large) - 5/5
Sicilian Pizza(Large) - 5/5.
Tiramisu - 5/5

Total Bill: $70.08

Hero Dish: Amore Pizza and chilli calamari(wanted more of it, portion size was very small!)

Final verdict: an excellent Italian spot located in St Kilda. My family enjoyed their pizzas. Tasted fresh and flavourful. Friendly staff and great atmosphere inside the restaurant. It would be good to make a booking beforehand when your coming here. I will definitely come back next time to try the pastas and mussels!
Kirsty Haggerty
I was surprised to see Topolino’s had a 4.1 out of 5 star rating. I found the pizza quite average. When I think of good pizza, great dough with flavourful ingredients comes to mind, Topolino’s pizza however doesn’t have these key factors.
AW
Very disappointing family meal. I had the spaghetti marinara and it was cold with a sparse amount of over cooked seafood. Looked like it was last night’s leftovers served up again. However some others in the group thought their meals were okay ie the steak reef and beef was good as was the chicken parmigiana. Overall not great for me
Foodadventureswithliv
pretty chilled vibes, friendly staff, interior not that nice, pretty basic!

we ordered a gluten free Prosciutto and Rocket pizza which was really delicious and crunchy, really happy with how the gluten free base tasted! but unfortunately it was super oily and SO much rocket...

not disappointed but not the best pizza place ive been to!
Akila Ravi
Vegetarian friendly, open late hours and convenience. That’s more than enough for me to come back here again and again. Really good ambience and well connected to public transport.

Love their Veggie delight pizza and Ravioli piselli with gluten free penne.

More love for their Minestrone soup. ❤️❤️
Bluewaves12
Got the ravioli piselli, which was one of the best pastas I've had in a long time - so delicious! Service was great, and servers were willing to give suggestions when asked. Great place!
Olga Barrett
Average food, slightly overpriced. Big venue, helpful staff. Bland food, blandness is compensated with the portions' size. Not the most amazing experience, poor money vs. value ratio.
Ken Leung
Very dark interior and lighting also play some live music on the weekend. Food is ok nothing amazing. Just another pizza place. But the staff is super friendly.
Kylie
We came a little later than our booking but the staff were excellent and still made room for us even though they were full. Excellent service from start to finish. We ordered the risotto polo which was heavenly, full of melted cheese and soft risotto with mushroom and chicken. We also ordered two small pizzas, the Topolino's Special and the Calzone, both of which were delicious. The Calzone, a pizza folded in half with filling inside, reminded my friend of lasagne with all the Bolognese sauce, and was particularly filling. Would love to return to try other dishes.
Streaky Eats
Got the Spaghetti del Mare Supremo after seeing it was the most posted photo on Zomato, no regrets. Overall portion was large, seafood portion was very generous. In fact, most of the food I saw them dishing out had very generous portion - lasagna, calamari, etc.

Pizza had a very different dough compared to most pizzas out there, it had some sort of a focaccia look to it. I had it reheated the next day, given I was too stuffed from the pasta the night before, and found it to be not too bad, on the unique side I would say.
FEEDEE
I’ve been eating here for over 20 years and hopefully another 20! There’s no fancy surprises, just bloody good Italian/European in a kid and big group friendly place. A true St KIlda icon. Pizzas are robust and plenty of toppings, the minestrone, pasta, seafood is generous and good. The locals hold it in high regard.
Lily Steiner
The food is ALWAYS good. Started coming here over 25 years ago and still coming back. Used to always have the pizza, which is sensational. I like The Lott because I really can't make up my mind, and they do it sensationally with both anchovies and pineapple, and garlic as well as everything else. But they have a cheesy garlic pizza which is the stuff obsessions are made of - you just can't have too much garlic.
Now here is the problem, I came with a bunch of friends and they started ordering off the other side of the menu - spaghetti marinara, seafood and someone even ordered steak - each and every dish was just as good if not better than the pizza. Don't want to come every day, but there is so much good stuff, and even though I have been enjoying the pizza for decades, it is still hard to go past too. The staff is always friendly and lovely, nothing is too much trouble. The prices are very reasonable and it is definitely a good choice for any type of meal.
My mother ordered strawberry crepes for desert one day (yes, after the steak, which she loved and ate every mouthful of together with the awesome mashed potatoes), and she ate every bit of the crepes as well - when it's good, it's good folks.
Highly, highly recommend !

Went back again last night with my mum, and we both had the gorgonzola steak, which included mashed potatoes even better than mine, with some perfectly done vegetables. The steak was like butter and perfectly done with a crisp crust and perfect pink in the middle - and so reasonably priced ! The Gorgonzola sauce was mazing and I dipped all my vegetables into it too. Such a superb meal ! I like Rockpool and Vlados is still exceptional, but the quality of this meal was every bit as anything I have enjoyed at these other restaurants.
Confession - we had dessert first - can never fit it in after the meal, and had not tried the Tiramisu in all the times we have eaten there. It's a highly recommend again !

So let’s set the scene: are you in St Kilda and in the mood for cheerful pizza and pasta? If so, we suggest heading to Topolino’s at 87 Fitzroy Street, St Kilda. You’ll get exactly what you expect when you walk into Topolino – no pretenses, just a mini statue of David around exposed-brick wall surroundings.
Laura Kaziavin
One of my favorite places to come if I want something simple and tasty late at night. My partner and I frequent this place, mostly as a ‘not sure what I want for dinner so let’s go to Topolinos’ kinda deal. I love the pastas here and the steaks have always been cooked perfectly for me. My partner is obsessed with their curry pasta and gets it most of the time. This place reminds me of a good all fashioned family restaurant with humble food, nothing fancy but still fills the belly with deliciousness.

Ordered a delivery pizza from here and wow was really expensive was a big pizza but have never paid that much before pizza was ok nothing special so many better places in the area for betters prices
Kiara Pocock
Ordered the Veal Scallopine and it was so yum!!! Bit expensive but the portion size is huge so definitely get value for money. Presentation not great but veal never looks pretty - it just tastes darn good

I was disappointed with this trip to Topolinos
My family ordered 3 pizzas. A bbq chicken a mushroom and a 3 cheese.
The chicken pizza and mushroom both were very bland. They needed way more sauce or maybe just more love when they made them.
Also i totally get having fun in the job but all of the wait staff were massively clowning around in a very unprofessional way.
My past experiences were better.
AJ
This place has really good pizza, it's almost like a more classy version of a la prochetta. They have the best decor in their function room as it is exactly like a little Italy.
Aanart Bhachech
Walked in on a Sunday night for dinner and it was a pleasant experience. We ordered a Mediterranean Chips which was too oily. Could have been much better. We ordered two pizza’s; the Cinque Formaggi and Pollo. Both the pizza’s were a delight. Would surely return to try some other dishes.

Hi,

On the Friday evening, I randomly dropped into this place with my family. It is an average restaurant service Average food. I ordered drinks (daiquiri 🍸and shiraz🍷), Mediterranean chips, minestrone soup, and their folded calzon vegetable pizza. The server was fast and attentive. With almost no wait they brought the food which was the great part.

Drinks: avoid cocktails, it is not that great. The strawberry daiquiri was thick and missing the freshness. The wine selection was ok.

Mediterranean chips: just a fuss - this is a simple chips with some topping. Don't stand its name.
Minestrone soup: to my surprise, this was worth ordering. The taste was hearty and filling. We really liked it. The quantity of single serve was enough for two.
Calzon roasted veg pizza: this was a disaster. Immediately after having a few bites, we discover meat piece in a so called. Vegetarian pizza 😡. I asked the waiter and she took it to kitchen and confirmed it. They were apologetic and felt sorry and were ready to replace with another one or another dish. I wouldn't have expected this blunder but because of their sincere apology I am not very Angry on them.

In my view, this is a just avg restaurant. If you are really hungry and no other options for your pizza/pasta thirst. You can try it. Be cautious if you are a vegetarian.

Enjoy.
4/5 - This was really fast service!

We ordered a garlic focaccia which had loads of garlic and cheese. Very tasty.

The chicken pizza had lots of fresh chicken and vegetables and for the price it was a bargain.

The plate of spaghetti bolognese was about 1kg! This was delicious pasta. Very well priced.

For 3 it cost around $45. What a bargain!

Have walked by this place so many times and always seems to have a crowd so thought better give it a go:
Pros-
-Pizza (even if possibly not a fresh base) and Bruschetta were fantastic
-Friendly is slightly chaotic service
-Solid portion size for the more hungry visitor
-Great place for families or large groups
-Great Statue

Cons:
-Pasta was tasty but seafood wasn't fresh (but what do you expect for $24)
-The whole place is kind of dated but that also kind of adds to the charm.
Wong Yih Wen
Went back this place for the second time. It’s so delicious and value for money! I ordered 2 small pizzas: seafood and meat lover. Will definitely come back again!

I came here last night on Melbourne Cup eve at 12am. This restaurant was pretty busy considering that it was quite late. The food was delicious and the service was great also. Would come back 👍

We ordered Toppolino's via uber eats and were so suprised at how much did there was. My partner ordered the parmigiana which was massive, featuring a huge side salad, heaps of chips and possibly the biggest piece of chicken I've ever seen. The chips were really nice and non greasy, he said the salad and chicken were good. My margarita pizza was nice, but not flavoured enough more focused on the cheese than the tomato and basil. The fruit platter was nice and there was a lot of fruit but some of the apple and bananna was browned which wasn't ideal for a fresh fruit platter. All in all we were satisfied with our meals but not wowed. Also we did ask for plastic knife and fork as we were at a hotel which didn't have them in our room but they forgot those so my partner literally ate with his hands hahah, which then led us to thinking some serviettes would have been nice too
SuTing Yip
Huge serving portion. We ordered the penne chicken breast and avocado and chicken breast plus seafood grilled.

Food was really good. Flavourful and hot, perfect for a chilly rainy evening.

Service acceptable. Polite despite being peak hour

@guanxun

We were walking around town and thought we might stop by. We were welcomed by the lovely staff whom were very helpful and welcoming. For entree we got some chips to share. The chips were a highlight and the seasoning was amazing. The drinks were nice but it isn't that nice seeing a rotten strawberry on the side of your drink. The mains however were not the best. The pizza was covered in oil which was a let down and the gnocchi was just covered with too much cream and oil as it was nearly impossible to eat. Overall not the best good but im glad the service is wonderful.

I have been to topolinos many times, it's a family favourite for 30 years or so I hear, but this is the first time I have properly had a meal here due to competing etc. It was not our first choice for dinner that night but said place closed an hour earlier than they were supposed to so we had to make a decision on the fly and this has been on the list for awhile

Speaking of being on the list, a good lasagna has been on there for a long time. It was solid but just a little off being spot on. The parma and chips (chips on chips) are always a fan favourite/long time friend. The parma was Napoli and the chicken wasnt that processed rubber shit. The pizza was half half with no problems and hit the spot. We got the gf fav which is quickly becoming mine, Marghareta with Pineapple. And my family favourite, ham cheese tomato mushrooms aka capricossa no olives. It was interesting trying their take on these being different to other pizza places but still good form.

We absolutely devoured all of this food in less than 10 minutes which is how long it felt it took for the food to come out so kudos on that. Good service, well priced, ample parking 😂 and it wasn't too loud so more than happy.
Britt And Shane
Love the classic pizza and pasta here, it's open late which is convenient when you're wanting a midnight snack. You can't pass up the nona pizza and if you're not vegetarian you can add chicken.
Love All Good Food
Takeaway pizza here all the time
Last time had seafood platter, looks amazing but tasteless seafood

Last night came again for pizza, (walk in at almost midnight while the staff are still very energetic) with friend after movie. The seafood pizza is just my fav, and never fault so far, great service too.
George David Michaelides
Still kicking goals, its old school dinning and it still stands up in todays overcrowded market. Ive only ever eaten pizza and pasta here so I cant really comment on the rest of the menu. Pizzas are thick and topped up to the max, while that might not be traditional its the place to go to if you want that "I cant move feeling " after eating one of these ! Base is nice and crunchy and oily, the meatlovers and the seafood pizza are my favourites here, just dont be having them at the same time!
How It Is
Below average pizza, I love pizza and to leave half a large pizza behind says a lot about it being rubbish. Aussie with pineapple is my fav.

My mates chicken Parmas looked good. And they didn't leave a bit. However they did break the cardinal sin of the Parma on top of the chips!
Yianni Panagio
The 4th time in a row I've had to cut my slices out with a knife. No cuts at all. And 1 parmesan cheese is not enough for 3 pastas. (2nd time in a row) 👍

This place is an institution in St.KIlda, even when I was living there many years ago they were always (as now) open until very late and served great pizza's, pasta and food in general.Still very good today. The pizzas are on the pricey side yet they are excellent and of good quality and ingredients. The staff are quite distracted when I go yet attentive, depending on what time you go there.Always usually busy.Very good!7.75/10 all factors considered.
Mrs Brunch
Usually when you see a menu the size of your local phone book, this means you can expect an average meal. Not exactly the case the Topilinos.

Sure the pizzas are no way near a traditional Italian pizza, with thick base and more topping than a lambs kebab.

This place has a kinda old Italian RSL feel. Its got all your favourites. All the meals are hot and brought out fast. And you can be sure to always get a table without a reservation.

Arrived impromptu with my wife and 2 teenage boys. Chose to drop by on way home late (11pm) after one of my boys had finished a basketball game on the way home. Told my wife go to Topos because memories from early twenties were that we could rock up any time before the sun came up and we would get a fantastic pizza, top quality ingredients, a soft drink - feeding a large group of us and no-one had to pay more than $20 into the split bill.

Time have changed.

The four of us shared 2 large pizzas (they have shrunk from large a while ago) and the ingredients are cheaper and do not represent the pizzas the once sold. At a cost of $110 (did include 2 x milkshakes, 4 soft drinks) I recommend looking for other establishments that have kept their eye on the ball and offer better value for money. They have lost their grip on the cost/value equation that once made them the go to choice for late night/early morning hunger busting places.

My hubby was craving Italian food so we decide to try Topolino which located not far from our apartment. We had spaghetti bolognese, seafood pizza (s), and garlic cheese bread. Bolognese was good, it's a bit spicy unlike other bolognese which more taste sour. Garlic cheese bread was good, i liked its gooey texture and breads were soft. Unfortunately my pizza didnt go well, probably it's just because i never eaten pizza with seafood topping before. All cost us $52, not bad. Huge portion of food and nice service, all waiters & waitress are so friendly, they would seeing around and ask "anything i can help you?" Or just ask "how was the food?"
Aashish Lokhande
Food: Looks good, tastes better.
Service: Excellent, joyful and quick(considering the vast number of tables they serve)
Look and Feel: Well maintained. Check out their unique currency pillar.
Do try: Pizzas and Pasta
TFMD
These guys offer small, large, and family size pizzas. We ordered the family size which is advertised as being 15 inches diameter. It turned out to be slightly over 12 inches and only 8 slices. It was the same size as the "large" from most pizza places, but the family-size pizzas here are around $27-$30 rather than the $20 I would expect to pay.

Taste-wise the pizza was average, a little greasy. It was also lukewarm by the time it arrived (home delivery) so that obviously didn't help.

Bit of a rip-off, would not order again.
Soheil Mazhari
The food quality was not good ! Neither Pasta nor Pizza! Wont go back there ever ! Big space, good staff but low food quality! Not agood idea for second time!
Ozan Seckiner
A must dine!!! I had the pasta supremo it was very generous with the seafood, taste was amazing. Not as pricey as the over rated cafe Di stasio
CCC
Surprisingly good! I certainly couldn't fault the service, our waitress was fantastic. I didn't feel like the place was the cleanest, and the decor was quite dated but that's what I liked about it, kind of an 80s Italian ski lodge vibe. I had oysters and there fantastic, my partner had the Parma which he loved, the chips weren't anything to write home about but the meat was real and very good.
Vinz Arena
I don't understand who wanna call pizza that. Pizza Hut is a fast food and of course is cheap but is no to different... Another dishes I didn't try... But they can't ask 25 $ for this pizza... Sorry!
Ryan Kinokio
I had the pizza with four cheeses but the base was hard like a biscuit. It was overcooked. In previous years I had pizza a lot of times at topolino's and it was decent.
Renegade
After not having eaten here for a number of years we thought it would be a good idea to revisit an old favourite. Well all I can say is that this place is not what it used to be. We tried the pizzas and were left very disappointed. The toppings were generous and the choice of pizzas were great however the lack in flavour was a big let down. What a pity.
Aki
Wow! My fav restaurant on Fitzory Street. Delicious Italian food, generous proportion and lovely service, not to mention the sparkling wine deals and the live band on weekends.
"JT" Jeffrie Trika
Faded away ....
The venue is better than what it was, European modern classic style, still buzzing inside out, open kitchen, friendly service

After a few visits since the mid 80's this old time Saint Kilda fave is stuck in time.

Pizzas were ordinary, wines too, especially at the rate that they are charging.
Grace
Had late dinner last night with my bf. Ordered seafood pizza which was very crunch crust and could feel the sea through seafoods topping on the pizza. We also ordered pasta which costed almost $30, but i think it was overpriced considering the quality of pasta. It had 1 king prawn, 3 steamed mussels, 1 oyster on the side of plate and small pieces of squid, king fish and prawn which were mixed up with tomato based pasta sauce. We could not taste anything. It felt like they just pour the tomato sauce for making red colour of pasta. Anyway, we finished every dishes we ordered, as we didnt have dinner at that time.
~Oscar~
Awesome pizza place, the toppings were thicker than the base! Awesome taste and very pleasant dining experience nice outside area, great service, overall an awesome restaurant.
Rhys McCarthy
I have only ever had 1 pizza from here which was average....but the calzone, whoa.
I have ordered the calzone here many times and will again in the future. The best calzone I've had in the local area.

I would recommend pickup or eat in, a few times the delivery has arrived nearly cold. I would give higher review if delivery food arrived hot.
John Butler
Topolino's is an institution on Fitzroy street having been here for years and these days churning out delicious pizzas. This isn't your typical local pizza joint, and they don't muck-about with toppings - you get excellent value for money as each pizza is chock a-block full of flavour.

Really great service and food was pretty good too. Ordered margarita pizza and spaghetti marinara. Was good but not the best I've had. Huge servings but managed to finish it. I'd go back but order an entree size next time. 4 hours later and I'm still stuffed! The pizza was yum!

Good, fresh and clean everytime always busy. Good customer service and tasty pizza's. You can even takeway, One of the longest standing restaurants in the area and i always love a BOLOGNA pizza its spaghetti, bolognese sauce, parmesan cheese on a pizza. Can be a little more expensive than your standard pizza place ie my BOLOGNA is currently $13.90 SMALL9" / $20.90 LARGE12" / $27.90
FAMILY15"..

Couldn't fault tonight's dinner. Spaghetti del mate supremo - heaps of of seafood and tasted amazing. The chilli con carne pizza was delicious. Portions were big and I'm not sure how I managed to fit in the tiramisu but I made it. Great customer service. Best meal so far into this trip. I think we may just go back again...

Not usually one to whinge about food but I ordered take out pizza from Topolinos, thought I'd try somewhere different instead of my usual pizza go-to. Not a good decision! I don't know where to start, the pizza arrived squashed up against the side of the box, it was warm, soggy and late. I put it in the oven for another ten minutes so it would be somewhat crispy. I asked for chilli on the pizza - couldn't taste any chilli.
Order number Z4MC9LG incase Topolinos wants to follow up with me, because I feel like I just wasted my money and appetite

Topolino's is a decent pizza place in the heart of St Kilda that has been there for years. I ate a small proscuitto pizza while I was there, which was quite good but the proscuitto was not of the best quality. The food is reasonably priced and the staff are very friendly and attentive. All in all, an enjoyable experience, but nothing that blew my socks off.

It can't be beaten as the best place in St Kilda for when you're hungry after a night out! They serve their full menu in to the late wee hours and it's far nicer than any burger & chips from a Mc Donald's drive through!

My score reflects the food in this long standing St Kilda establishment. Pizzas are brilliant. Can't fault them. Other great dishes include the Bruschetta - one of the best I've ever had. Also top notch is the Chicken Spuntini - grilled chicken fillet bites marinated with garlic, herbs and sweet soy sauce. The marinated beef salad is great as a healthy alternative and we enjoyed the veal schnitzel very much. On the dessert front the Sticky date pudding is delicious as are the crepes and choccy cake. On the down side we ordered medium rare steak with an emphasis on rare but it was certainly not. They don't allow you to change the veges for chips which is a bit strange. Staff were relatively attentive but I was horrified when maybe the head waiter (?) together someone high up approached us to ask if we'd been there before and even though we said yes proceeded to tell us that we'd ordered too much food!! We kept saying "that's fine we're happy with the order" but they kept on and on trying to convince us to order less! My family and I felt so uncomfortable and as though we were pigs eating too much! When they brought the food they said "Here you go guys - are you ready?" They thought they were doing us a favour by warning us of over ordering but it didn't sound like that and not really their place to do so in my opinion. When we left (after eating everything we'd ordered) I asked if we'd passed and condescendingly they said "Yes! Well done! You did great!" Hmpf - gee thanks. It spoilt an enjoyable night of absolutely great food. Staff need to mind their own business and just be thankful we'd ordered so much.

Long established Italian restaurant in Fitzroy st. Great pizza and seafood dishes. Pasta is of a high standard. A very attentive owner welcomes us and ushers us to a table in the front area. The back area tends to have large rowdy family groups. Good red wine by the glass is in order and I order my favourite pizza margarita. My companion had the garlic prawns which he loved. A very pleasant environment.

Now I've eaten a LOT of pizza in my time, some in the mornings, some in the evenings & even some when I'm horribly intoxicated. But the pizza that I ordered last night from Topolino's trumps all of those as the most hideous, vulgar tasting pizza I've ever encountered!
Sure, it was 12.30am when the delivery guy turned up but we were very hungry sober people looking for a meal & we had 1 bite each, that's it.

Do not order food from here unless you like your pizza base swimming in a sea of grease and fat.

Everything on their menu has not disappointed my friends and I. We've now made it a weekly tradition to drive an hour up to this place for dinner and drinks.

Usually when a restaurant or take away store have a lot of dishes on their menu, they tend to suck but Topolinos is AH-MAZING. Their parma is huge! The pizzas are delicious and have so many different combinations to choose from. The pasta, I usually like to start with a basic dish and add my own ingredients to it. And I highly recommend washing it down with their red wine sangritas or their fresh fruit punch!

The atmosphere is quite fast paced, casual and loud. But that's what we love about it. We love being able to come in for a meal at 1 in the morning after a night out in the town suited up or the complete opposite, rocking up with trackies and ugg boots. Whatever your style, you'll fit right in

Noisy, average service "it got a bit better as things went along" average food, reasonable price. Will I go back, maybe with the boys after a day at the footy, that's the environment.

We were at MSAC for a basketball game and some of us wanted to go for some food afterwards. Couldn't decide between pizza or burgers. My friend said that there's a place no too far away in St Kilda that had pizza that is close to "American Style." I wasn't sure what he meant but the five of us went and now I see what he was talking about. We all ordered the 9" individual and I gotta report, they're real good. Of course I got the prosciutto and rocket (aka "arugula" btw) while I think my fav was the meat lovers. My wife got the margarita and it was delicious also. Service was also prompt and cheery. I really like their crust and amount of cheese. Yummy!

Ordered from these guys last night because my regular local was closed. Estimated delivery time was 40 minutes, it came within 25.
Friendly delivery driver, affordable pizza that tasted pretty good. Would use them as an alternative again, but nothing to write home about.

Went for dinner with friends and waitress obviously did not have any hospitality training... Food was served an hour after. They did give complimentary bread which one of my friends have to ask for since we were waiting longer than usual which arrived with our orders, so didn't really make sense since we wanted to enjoy our orders which was a bit impossible since we already lost our appetite. But the manager did approach us to apologise but then again for what.... But was nice of him still. Food was ok. I've had better Italian food. One of our friends actually said that the pizza was not good at all. He ordered the supreme and when he started eating, the pizza was cold inside and soggy... Rating them 2.5 for being open late...

I have been at Toplolino's twice and the food both times was very average. Tonight, in addition to being average food, it also took them over an hour from the time we ordered to the time the food was served. There apparently was a rush just before we ordered.
The waitress noticed our dissatisfaction and got the manager to speak to us. He apologised and offered us a round of port wine, which was nice, but we told him we didn't want to drink anymore. We asked him if he could reduce the bill by 10% instead ($40 out if $400), but he kept on insisting with the port wine. Eventually we gave up and took the port wine.
The whole thing seemed to me more damage control than sincere apology: he wanted to avoid scathing reviews on Zomato. In hindsight I also realise why it was port wine of all things he offered: it's the cheapest alcohol you can buy. Liquor store sells them for $5 a bottle.

Shame I just wanted to get take out!
I wanted it to be a good take-away place but it's not. Not by a long shot.

You don't expect much but getting the last two orders wrong is annoying; especially when you realise their error only once you have arrived home.
Lesson here is to check your order before you leave!

Service is robust and aggressive in nature.

Just don't.

The best Italian in Melbourne by far!!
The spread is yummy. We had the gourmet pizzas, veg gnocchi, sea food pasta and of course the garlic bread. It was heavenly!
Alex Bogart-King
Very average in all aspects. Word of warning - don't get your pizza delivered. I think they sub contract this out and the drivers don't give a crap. My pizza arrived soggy, squished right up against the top of the box and dripping with grease.

This place is fine if you're full of beer and have left it too late to go anywhere else.

Pizzas are okay, although we asked for extra extra garlic but couldn't taste any garlic at all.

Service is standard for such a busy place.

I do love the fact they're open til 3am.

Loved the atmosphere and the decor. Pricing was very very reasonable for an exceptional meal. I ordered the paradiso gnocchi and couldn't get enough of it. Please don't think twice about coming here. It was fantastic. Perfect for a first date/date night or just a night out with mates.
Go try out Topolinos

Fantastic😍 Normally I am always disappointed when I order pasta when I go out, I will usually leave saying that I could have made better at home.... But this time I have found my perfect pizza pasta place, I ordered a spaghetti del mare wow wow wow sensational, perfectly cooked, beautiful fresh seafood, my partner was in love with the mouth watering pizza, he even wants to go back tomorrow!! Finally a restaurant that knows how to cook pasta!! Good work guys, and great staff who were friendly and prompt☺️ can't wait to come back😋

Initial service was quick. Food - pizza - took a long time and arrived overcooked. Replacement pizza was offered for a burnt vegetarian, refused, and brought out as a comp anyway.

My girlfriend and I go their quite regularly and we find the food to be at a typical meal standard. The salads that come with the meals don't seem that freshly made. I don't recommend paying the extra charge on the side sauces that typically come as part of ordering a steak everywhere else. Plus the last time I had the pepper sauce it made me sick later that night. The service is up and down with the servers not really caring too much about your dining experience. Last time we had to keep asking for table water. Would we go back there? Yes we would as it's generally open late and can always get a table no problem. The pizzas can sometimes taste a little old and not fresh. Value for money though, I still recommend it to check it out.

Went to this one expecting a good pizza. But it was quite terrible with oil leaking from every inch. We asked for water twice, took like 15 mins to come on the table. Other customers looked annoyed too. Service was just terrible. Spoke to one of the waiters while leaving and he admitted their pizzas are terrible and the staff is frustrated. Anyways. Never going there again. No reason to.

My partner had the veal scallopini in a very nice funghi sauce, I the salmon fillet, both hearty serves excellently prepared with nice potatoes and veggies. Chilli flakes and parmesan at the table are a nice touch more restaurants should learn from. A fair amount of the menu is best avoided due to being served with chips & crap salad and they don't tolerate substitutions, also won't do split bills (how lame is that, honestly), but being able to pay from the table is yet another nice touch other restaurants have been increasingly shoddy with. The interior excels at muting diner noise and has a nice subdued accent. The service was attentive, just a minor mishap in my drink refill being forgotten.

Best pizza in Australia...been around forever and very popular for good reason. Delicious, scrumptious and excellent food...an institution in Melbourne. Great variety in food but the pizza is where it's at for mine. Mama says thank you Topalinos for always being there for us. Recommended!

The spagetti marinara is the most popular so we had that on the night, it was really good for you who love seafood. We also ordered the pizza formaggi which is my favorite (since I love bread). The place is elegant and comfy for gathering. The size portion is pretty big so it is better to share.

Personally this is my favourite Italian restaurant. Great food, great atmosphere and great service. Lovin the garlic prawn and those pizzas. Surely will be back to topolinos again

Have visited TOPOLINO'S on a few different occasions & every time everyone loved it! Just wholesome Italian food made well. The portions are quite generous. If you are a big eater then this is the place for you, food is always tasty, full of flavor, service is great & they are very helpful when catering for a large group. They make the best reef & beef, my husband orders it every time & they are very consistent.
Dan
Pretty good pizza, delivery is available until late at night. All in all no complaints order from here regularly............................

Love!!!!!! Topolinos is by far one the best food outlets in St. Kilda when it comes to quality of food and staff! Everyone is extremely friendly, and the food is amazing! You get what you pay for, what I paid for entree could of been my entire meal, and my main was huge, you get every cent you pay back into the meals. Amazing. Leave with a full tummy for sure. Highly recommend for date night!!

Love it! My parents have been going to Topolino's since they came to Australia 30 years ago and it's a family favorite. I love the seafood crepe which is no longer on the menu but they are still able to prepare it.
I'll even dare say that it's the best pizza in Melbourne.

Topolino caters a long list of traditional and gourmet pizzas. We tried some of their pastas and pizzas, including the gourmet sweet chilli chicken pizza. Everyone was happy with the meal. All in all, ambience, food and service are generally ok.

I ordered the eye fillet medium rare. I got eye fillet medium rare. It was cooked just perfectly. It was missing a little seasoning, the vegetables however were seasoned, but with a vegetable/chicken stock powder. This I'm sorry I'm not a huge fan of. The mushroom sauce I had to order on the side was $4.50 extra. The mushrooms had been sautéed well and the sauces was nice enough but I prefer wine sauce with mushroom not cream. Personal thing.

My husband ordered Greek Salad. He was left asking where the actual dressing was. The answer is the dressing was olive oil. Shame the vinegar was missing.

The staff were nice and helpful. But overall thank goodness for the eye fillet as it was an average meal.
