Review Spudbar - St Kilda

Not recommended! Just went for a pulled pork spud and it was such a waste of money…. They shred pork into a lot of sauce and when they give it to you it’s just basically a lot of sauce and a lot of baked potato and sour cream… not sure why they’re doing this bearing in mind that I had a better experience in this place before…

The Spud bar in St. Kilda is the best one! The food is plentiful, very delicious and never raw or cold. Chiken Parma is the best and that is my favourite. Salt and pepper available on the table and it's important if someone eats more salty than others. If you eat in they serve the food in normal plate with normal cutleries. No plastic and paper waste. Environment friendly. The restaurant is clean and nice. The service is very good, always fast and the guy is extremely kind! I am coeliac so extra stars for them bc the place is 100% coeliac safe.

On recommendation this was our first time visit for us and because of the pandemic we opted for a take-away and, on such a lovely day, we had spud lunch at the nearby Botanical garden. My vegie spud, a Chili Bean Salsa, was amazingly delicious. Excellent place for vegans/vegetarians and super friendly customer service. For a healthy meal this place is hard to beat.

As experienced business consultants and advisors we are of the belief that this business does not have what it takes to last into the long term and that it is bleeding cash. The business owner was approached by our founder and given our leaflet with the desire to assist them to make this location of Spud Bar work. We have not heard from the operators. We guess they must have a lot of faith in God and feel God will help them out instead. We hope you know more about business than we do, so your great eatery can continue to satisfy its customers into the long term.

Visited here yesterday and this place is 10/10! The new shop fit out is stunning; the whole place was modern and super clean. The staff were amazing; friendly and helpful and the food was fresh and packed with flavour! Heaps of selection on the menu (all food is gluten free and low sugar + vegan options too) and there was even an option where you can order off menu to have literally whatever you want! Highly recommend this gem of a place and will definitely visit again!

Something that I would never think I’d try! But once’s tried it was super different from everything I’ve eaten. Super super healthy !! The service there is so friendly I’d recommend and will definitely go again !!

I usually love Spudbar, but I'm a bit fed up. Portion sizes have been pretty low lately, but I thought I'd give you another shot. Just built my own spud, got home to eat it, and the amount of dirt in my mouth was enough to make me brush my teeth. I dont mind a speck or two, no one's perfect, but this was ridiculous. I'm sick rn, I can't walk back to the store, I tried calling twice and no one picked up. Pretty weak effort.

Most over priced rubbish I've eaten in the area. Will not be returning here

Easy gluten free food. Saved our lives when visiting Melbourne and needed to take a gf meal to an elderley relative. Yummy and healthy

To have visited this store only a few months ago and presented a card that was initialed by a staff member, then tonight present this for a free spud to be denied because you now don't stamp cards is pathetic and poor service you fuckn tight arses. The douche bag told me it was impossible this had occurred, as I stand there with the card in hand. Bye Felicia.

Do not dare go here .. I live here 8 years .. spud bar franchise was recently taken over last year .. $18 for a spud .. $5 for a tiny bit of extra tuna .. literally so disappointed .. I hate greed it actually shits me to tears, I’ve dealt with their head office for work who are a pleasure .. that’s why franchises like this go out of business !!! Boycott them and I’ll write this review everywhere at kilda groups , google , Zomato Greed !!!

I just can't resist stopping by Spudbar for a quick lunch when I'm in need of something fast and healthy!<br/><br/>I've been here many times, and must say I think the ambience/decor is much nicer now after the renovations. The staff are always pretty friendly and careful in checking what toppings we want. My go to spud at the moment is the Chilli bean & Salsa. Although I do love the Hawaiian too. I'd also recommend trying half sweet potato for something a little different. <br/><br/>I'd always highly recommend Spudbar!

Good option for something quick and healthy that actually still has flavour. Staff are always friendly and the service is always fast! Thanks guys

4.5 Spudbar is part of those adorable little eateries just off Acland street. With new owners comes a brand new fit out to give this long standing spud bar a new lease of life...

Great for a quick work lunch that is nutritious and filling however the portion sizes have drastically reduced over time ... <br/>Get the meal deal options or premade items as it will cost more to customise.<br/>There is a dark , small seating area at the back of the store , but its more airy to sit on the bar stool on the little tables at the front of the shop .<br/>My favourite is the chilli , with cheese , sourcream and spring onion . Opt for yogurt if counting calories .<br/>Not bad , but for the price there are better options on chapel street.

The staff here are super friendly and there are so many options to pick from! A cool healthy lunch option which is reasonably priced! Loved the Mexican chicken spud!

I went to the spud bar with some friends a week ago and was amazed how good everything was. The food was exceptional and Declan who served me was very polite and cooked me up a great spud!

Spudbar is always a go to for me! Love the food, so healthy, so tasty, and always so generous with their portions. Staff are sooooo sound! Last time I went in one staff member in particular, Declan, was super chatty and great craic! Hope he's there for bants next time I go lol! Highly recommend to everyone regardless of diet requirements!

Spudbar..what can I say about the original Spudbar. Well one word, and that is AMAZING! Such an great concept that is ultra healthy and easy for the whole family to enjoy. Good for all ages, from my son who is 3 to my husband who is 35, both kids loved it too!

The first time visiting a Sputbar and I was highly impressed. Fresh and tasty food, great atmosphere and friendly staff, very modern and clean venue.<br/>We went for the Siracha Chicken Poke Bowl and the pulled pork. Both dishes were freshly made and rich in flavor. The meat was tender and juicy. The toppings went along really well and made a great combo! <br/>Would definitely visit again!

Couldn't believe how amazing this was! Would definitely visit again and recommend to anyone who's after a great feed!

Amazing food, very friendly and easy to talk to staff, the overall experience was a 10/10 the location is great, store is very clean and has a very aesthetic vibe! Definitely will be coming back again and recommending this diamond of a spud to all my friends!

Potato lovers unite because spud bar is providing the goods. Came for a takeaway spud whilst I was in the area. So many different options available and it all tastes fantastic. Top place.

Everyone loves a baked spud and the Spud bar do them as good as any. Really a great winter food item. I went with the bolognese spud and it was cracking!

Just a small shop. But that doesn't matter when the spuds are good! Had the mexican bowl and that was banging. Full of flavour and doesn't leave you heavy afterwards.

Any time I'm in St Kilda, I'll be getting a takeaway spud from here! The options are endless, you can customise your own toppings or choose from set options (which are all very well put together!) <br/><br/>LOVE that you can choose between regular potato and sweet potato and they pile a LOT of toppings on! Humongous serves, quality, fresh ingredients and fast service - you can't ask for more!

I love love loooove spuds! And Spudbar St Kilda is my favourite out of all! I live close by and find it such a treat whenever I come here. Super friendly staff who help you make your perfect spud every time! They also get creative and put specials on the menu that you won't find at other Spudbars! Defs recommend! It's been a while since I have had the spud but after seeing them pop up on social media just made me come back and revisit an old favorite. I have missed the spud, I promise I won't leave it so long between visits!

Amazing the place is sparkling clean and the food is fresh and delicious ! And a beautiful smile for the staff ! Definitely love it ! You need to try that if you love spuds

The latest venue to grace the spud scene is their store in St Kilda - similar to the other Spud Bars, you can expect fun and friendly service, plenty of seating, and loads of fresh spud toppings.  Pictured below is their Pulled Pork spud with baby spinach, shredded cabbage, corn, peas, light sour cream and spring onions, as well as their Mexican Chicken spud with chicken, chilli beans, wild rocket, carrots and corn with chipotle mayo.

Lee Vernon comes from a background in the construction industry and saw potential in the neglected Spud Bar site at St Kilda where he made the jump into his first ever hospitality venture. Lee’s confident attitude towards the franchise and food offering made it clear that taking over this business was not only an educated decision but also one that he is passionate about.

SpudBar is a place to go to get quick yummy meals and being healthy conscious at the same time which mostly use baked potatoes as the base of all their food. They have salad ranges to cater people looking for low sugar, gluten-free, high protein, vegan, and dairy-free. We often come to Spudbar near our place to get their snack and their traditional SpudBar menu.

We love this place so much, its just had a major makeover and we couldn't be happier. Its fresh, healthy and delicious, the snack spuds are perfect for the kids, we love them, :)

I cant believe i've only just found Spudbar, Super Friendly staff and the vibe was just right,  i ordered the vegan chickpea and kale, ill be defiantly be ordering again, couldn't be happier :)

Amazing to have this gem back!. As a long time SpudBAR fan St Kilda returns as my favourite store. The food is fresher and the staff are super welcoming. Epic feel to the store, a nice place to hang out or pick up a fast take away. Delicious!

I had lost faith in this place...Glad i gave a second chance, food was fresh and well presented, the new staff were amazing, shop looks awesome!, about time spudbar!!

I had few meal at this place, it's not great. I'm a bit disappointed some of the stuff doesn't taste fresh at all. The price is definetly fair, but the quality of food is definetly a big lack of commitment in this shop.

I ordered the tuna avo combo, and my boyfriend ordered the meat lovers. He complained that the mushrooms in his spud were not cooked. (He doesn't like raw mushrooms) and my avocado had that distinct taste when it's off - or has been sat there oxidising for hours. I also barely got any tuna on it, and felt like a rabbit eating all the raw carrot and cabbage! <br/><br/>All in all I would maybe go again - only in future, would avoid their combo's and only order one topping such as tuna mayo. That way they don't get chance to scrimp on the good stuff, whilst feeding you rabbit food!

Having said that, you can choose from white or sweet potato, or just a salad. There's a choice to go vegan, or have meat and cheese. I selected a ginormous salad with shredded chicken, along with green salads of my choosing. Then mixed with Caesar dressing. Amazing!!! The whole thing cost ~$11. Each salad item was fresh, and tasty (except for the beetroot which is canned). <br/><br/>#Process:<br/>Simple and easy-to-read menu is behind the salads. You go from right to left (similar to subway), to select your spud, then a base, then adding ingredients as you go. Ending up at the cash register (credit card accepted, no extra charge). Condiments next to register for chilli, garlic, s&p, and complimentary water. <br/><br/>#People<br/>Melanie and Lianna were my hosts today at the Spudbar. They told me the best part of working for the Spudbar was the interesting people they'd meet (it's in st kilda), as well as the awesome food - knowing they will always eat healthy. <br/><br/>Lean guy gives this a thumbs up!!!!

This is part of a chain, and they all seem to have the same menu. They state that everything is gluten free. There are 2 dairy free options; one morroccan chickpea, one chicken and chilli. You can also create your own from the salad bar, or ask for a combo without the sourcream or cheese etc. Always tasty. Good price. This place was small with a semi-steep ramp, but there is seating outside too. No accesaible toilet and I don't know where the nearest one would be as it was late so we didn't explore much.

My go to lunch place - reasonably priced, super filling and delicious. Whether you're a meat lover, pescatarian, vegetarian or vegan...there will be an option for you 😉 The staff are lovely as well!!

Good bang for buck if your after a quick meal without paying a fortune. I'm yet to go to spud at and leave hungry so that's always a plus. My advice is sweet potatoes for the win.

Re-morgage your house to pay for a spud and a beer here, be slightly disappointed and leave wishing the staff had been even a little bit more cheery. Won't be back

Great versatile dinner option for whatever you feel like, salads or spuds. Staff were very friendly at St Kilda. Decent serving size for the price however would have been just that little bit better if the free range chicken was warmed up. Overall great experience and will definitely return 😊

My mum and I had just completed an 1hr30 yoga session and were in need of quick, healthy and easy food. We arrived and it was fairly busy, we waited about 5 minutes to be seen and then were told there was no more spuds left !!!! At all XC she was very apologetic about it and often us other things, we then ( much to mums delight ) found out that there was 1 sweet potato left ... So she had it with the chickpea and lentil Dahl, which was beautiful very flavoursome with the slaw, hummus and more. I made my own (minus the spud haha) of Malaysian curry, spinach, carrots, slaw, mushrooms, yoghurt and other bits. We shared a cider between us and it came to $25 which is great value for money considering how healthy it is and the portion size xxx we both loved the vibe, the food and the service X <br/>I will be coming back but PLEASE cook more spuds both sweet potato and normal haha <br/>

I've been to spud bar in the city on little bourke before and it was delicious. However the st kilda spud bar was disappointing, potatoes tasted like they had been in the oven all day, they were tough to eat and all the toppings weren't fresh, I had to ask the employee to get some fresher spinach out of the fridge for me..the cleanliness of this place concerns me..

So good. But even better, there's a dude working here who is like a potato genius. He makes suggestions and recommendations and is so super friendly. <br/>A+ potatoes<br/>A++ staff

Had my 10th chicken and avocado from st kilda tonight. They had sweet potato available which is a rarity post 8pm. Consistent as always, and very generous on the toppings. Highly recommended.

Disappointing.... When I heard of the concept of spudbar I was very impressed. Having had the chance to finally go there about six months ago I was very excited. However, the guy who served us couldn't have seemed less happy to serve us. Not only this but it seemed like of the 5 or so toppings we wanted on our potato, 4 of them were 'out'... seemed like there was an excess of cheese in supply that day, disappointing to the extent I don't think I will ever go to a spudbar again

Loving the new menu choices. Has been years since I came here and only re-discovered it after a picked up a menu from their city franchise. Have always been chasing a good replacement for The Baked Potato Cafe since they closed down (have yet to find something the same or better). The menu has many interesting items on it and for a meat eater like myself, slow braised lamb, roast chook and beef/bacon bolognese certainly got the mouth watering.<br/><br/>I ordered the slow cooked lamb spud and it didn't disappointed. The meat was well braised and falling apart as you would expect. Apart from the usual salad suspects in the spud like spinach and carrot, the mixed grains was delicious.<br/><br/>My only critique is that they cut up the potato into tiny baby sized bites. Maybe personal preference, but I like one big potato cut into quarters.<br/><br/>I think the new menu will work out well for them and look forward to coming back and trying other things.

Ah, Spudbar. How do I love thee? Energetic, switched-on and rather cute staff and a million toppings to choose from. Freshly roasted spuds. Go as healthy or as junky as you want - as good on a hangover as it is for a meal on the run or basking in sunshine out front. Go, Spudbar, go!

Plenty of amazing options for a feed. Either sweet or normal potato is available. Really fresh toppings. Great staff. Very generous serves. Well priced. Tastes great. What more could you want!

Snacks. If your hungry for a bite to eat this is the place to go if you near. Very affordable and the meal size is big, loved the food there and alway pop in when walking past.

Great cheap healthy take away option - eat there at least once a week
