Review Barzar Lounge - St Kilda

We have eaten here twice in the last week and the food and service has been amazing. Great relaxed atmosphere and awesome music. The first night we had dinner and the food was delicious, came out quickly, and the owner came out for a chat to make sure we were happy with the food. The second time we ate lunch here and oh my goodness, their breakfast/lunch menu is great! Once again, the food was great and came out hot and fast, even their chips are above and beyond. Would definitely recommend eating here or just coming in for a couple of drinks!

A great place to dine in on the weekend with excellent and friendly service. I had a beautiful tasting steak with perfect mushroom sauce. Substantial pastas with amazing sauces and super pizza options.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Eat in and takeaway are great. Tonight I had the best vegetarian lasagna I’ve ever had and my wife had the pollo fungi pasta both large serves and both delicious. The large serves came with salad and Parmesan cheese. Definitely worth it.

You know what I left happy, service was casual, friendly, prompt with a beautiful StKilda vibe to it. The food was again exactly what I expected and exactly what I wanted, yummy but not pretentious again very happy. Parking can be a pain, but 2 min walk away is a commercial car park at $16 it was great value as parking inspectors can be around to book you.

Absolutely LOVE this place, amazing food, amazing customer service, great selection and very generous portions. I don’t often review but It’s just too good to not give a 5 star rating. Keep up the good work

We went to the Bazar on the 18/6/2022 for dinner waited for our meals for an hour people came in after us and received there meals before us when we finally received our meals every one was disappointed it was burnt and not cooked properly the service was disgusting we spent over $200 for rubbish food do not recommend Bazar to no one go else where and spend your money and get better food that's not burnt and cooked properly and better service

Ordered last night through ‘Pan and Grill’ as they’re known on Uber Eats, with delivery by the restaurant itself. Waited 2 hours (45+ minutes over estimated arrival time). Not usually a big issue, it happens. Requested a delivery update through the app and it was ignored. Food finally arrived, I told the driver over the intercom I’d meet them on ground floor. The driver left the bag on the floor in the lift lobby, couldn’t wait 10 seconds to safely hand it over in person. As for the food, the photos speak for themselves, but a few things need to be said. Ordered the Mexican Parma, which is listed to have chorizo, guacamole, sour cream and corn - none of which were on it. However, it did have ham, jalapeños and roasted capsicums (??), none of which were listed as ingredients. Spent $91 on food none of us ended up eating due to quality, temperature, incorrect ingredients used and, to be honest, concern for food safety.

Deeply mediocre and unreliable. Ordered lamb and halloumi salad via Uber Eats and told it would be 45 minutes to an hour away. It ended up being delivered at 10:30, 2 hours later than agreed time and three hours after the order was made. I made numerous attempts to contact the restaurant via the app but was never answered. Calls direct to the restaurant weren’t answered either. On delivery, the driver said they were short-staffed, like everyone. But if you can’t fulfil the terms of an order, don’t accept it. I was left with the impression they just wanted the cash. As per other reviewers, the ingredients didn’t match the menu. My dish was supposed to have pumpkin. Seriously, what kind of place runs out of vegetable that keeps for ages and grows like a weed? Melbourne has many great and reliable restaurants. Why give a hit and miss place like this your money when their are so many other options?

First time to St. Kilda and saw this place, as it was close to where we were staying decided to give it a try. What a surprise, fantastic food great service, good atmosphere. It was so good that our entire visit was spent having an evening meal here. Well done 10/10

Stopped in for a few beers looks like a cool bar. Service was really good. The only reason I can't give a 4 or 5 is because I did not eat there. But I will be back to try it for sure as the menu did look good.

The savoury food I find to be overpriced and average however the cakes are delicious. It says the apple pie is homemade and it tastes like it.

Sort of a disclaimer - I have never been to this establishment and ordered my food via Uber Eats. <br/><br/>Browsing for a place to order a “big” breakfast from, on a lazy Sunday mid morning, brought me to Barzar’s ordering page. And lo and behold, the “barzar big breakfast” came to my rescue. The word BIG immediately caught my attention and boy, it was a big breakfast. I requested the eggs to be scrambled, which by the way were simply perfect! Together with the eggs, there was bacon, hash browns, fennel sausages, stir fried spinach and mushrooms, baked beans and buttered seeded sourdough toasts making it a wholesome brekky. Worth the price tag for that humongous portion. Recommended.

I saw happy hour information from another site and found that the actual price at the restaurant was more expensive. Other than that, my Parma was soggy and quite unappetizing. My partner got the fish burger upon the recommendation of the server but we found that the burger was swimming in mayo. He had to remove it himself.

Worst meal ever, soggy moist mushy chips like a potato sorbet and a gristly steak. Aman, a man by name but not a man by nature could not admit any fault in delivery that took over 180 minutes and aggressively defensive in his manner. Shocking food, abysmal service, really advise DO NOT GO HERE. Trust me, I am a Doctor.

The portion sizes here are awesome! I had an egg brekky here and I really enjoyed it. I also appreciate the great choices on their takeaway menu 👍🏼

Love this place as I've been here a fair few times now. My friend highly enjoyed it here also as it was his first experience at the relaxing place.I'm highly looking forward to returning again soon.

This place is bloody terrible and I cannot understand how on earth they have so many positive reviews! Do you not have taste buds or have you mistaken the eatery for another ? Either way my meal was inedible and absolutely disgusting .. For some reason it had a strange curry flavour which over powered the entire dish. So bad, so very very bad.

Shop aesthetics is beautiful and the ambience is relaxed especially in the morning with some sunshine kicking in. Coffee is very nice and also the pizza. I ordered the peri peri chicken pizza and with a request for it to be spicy. It turned out to be spicy and tasty.

The garlic prawn pizza is out-of-control-bagus-sekali, absolutely sensational! I always order home delivery from this joint, it's perfect for night-ins over the weekend or even pre going-out food (pizzzaaasss)

Great takeaway pizza! Being just off of st kilda road, this is by far the best delivered pizza in the area! Pulled pork pizza is a must try! 👍

Delicious pizza! I had a half peri chicken and half Spanish chorizo pizza and it was so delicious. Reasonably priced, and fast delivery! They do a great carbonara too!!

An unknown gem. Looks like it will be average but the food here is consistently excellent. In a suburb full of cheap porterhouse steaks, this place does an excellent filet Mignon. Good pizzas, good wines. A lot to choose from.<br/><br/>Highly recommended little cafe.

Have been back to this place twice in the last 2 weeks following outings to the Comedy Festival in town. Cosy, layback bar that serves up exceptional pizza! I live in the outer South East & will certainly be back when anywhere in the area

Great place for a quick bite. Perfect for a quick and inexpensive meal. Food is quick to come out and portions are great. Good variety of drinks on tap as well. Great little place!

Amazing pizza with high quality cheese and the pasta was so full of flavour! My 10 year old exclaimed "best pizza and pasta Eva!". It's good when a place can nail both as it is rare these days....Great friendly service and would highly recommend.

Bec the manager without hesitation served my partner and I breakfast. We were seated and served prompty by the staff there. There's nowhere better for an easy delivered meal.. I have ordered from Barzar seven or eight times now, and thus am well on my way to the free meal offered after ten online orders. Every single meal has been top-notch, and while there is fancier food around the St Kilda area, I do feel that Barzar is the best value and quality for delivery. It isn't a Michelin star restaurant but is well aware of this, and instead just puts out good quality bar food. <br/><br/>Perhaps the best thing about Barzar is their delivery. They bring food with lightning speed; the longest I have ever had to wait was about 40 minutes, on a busy Friday night, and most other times I received my food after 15 minutes. The takeaway servings are massive, with one pasta dish easily feeding two. The salads are fresh and, again, huge sizes. The wedges and chips do tend to be slightly soggy, although this is expected with takeaway chips that necessitate delivery in foil or styrofoam containers; one zap in the oven gets them back to their crispy deliciousness. If you need a quick meal, one which is actually decent quality and won't take all night to arrive, then this is the restaurant to try.

Best delivery place in town. Seriously, from pizza to lamb salad to parmigiana - Hawaiian pizza is the best though. The place is seamless, every meal is delivered quickly and tasty (I am in st kilda). 10/10

We've come here a few times for pre or post theatre drinks (it's across the road from the National Theatre). Service always good, and the pricing is not greedy. We had dinner last night which was superb and will be going out of our way to dine and drink here in future. Highly recommended!

Love it!. First of all, so glad they deliver before 5pm like most restaurants do. Ordered Steak with mash.. usually a little hesitant about ordering meat for delivery but this one was so great the gravy on mash was absolutely delicious and for just $16(which in my opinion is very affordable for a steak) it was quite big in size too!. The owner, who delivered was very friendly. Overall, will definitely order from them again!

Worst food!!!. Just ordered delivery, pumpkin ravioli was swimming in oil with no taste.... Nutella pizza has cooked strawberries inside that taste so off.... Basically threw everything out and never ever ordering from there again

Loved it!!. Recently came to melbourne on holiday from Hobart and I was so impressed with this little place that I signed up just to write a review. (Hoping to get more going now the babies are older so I get out more)<br/>I have to say reading some if the other reviews I was so surprised. I couldn't of had a better experience and we ate here breakfast, lunch and dinner while we were in St Kilda. The staff and owners were all lovely and very accommodating with all our fussy changes. <br/>And the coffee is also really good. Such a great menu and the Gnocchi was amazing, so fresh. I hope people read the other great comments and give this place a go. I really enjoyed coming here.

Do not even bother. Do not get coffee here, there are so many other better coffee places near by, as far as the food go I have never eaten in, just take away and delivery and have regretted it each time, its quite pricey for low quality food, I would recommend this place for alcoholic beverages, but do not bother with coffee or food here.

Worst risotto of my life. I ordered a risotto and more or less got mushy rice and soup for the sauce. it was mushy, watery and when i called up to complain the manager on duty said the chef was happy with it and it was mushy because of the fetta cheese which is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard. risotto is my favourite meal and I've had it everywhere and know that a risotto shouldn't be like a thai soup. not only that but the manager on floor who spoke to me over the phone was rude and unprofessional. will not order from here again!

Better than what you pay for. You know what, this is not a hat restaurant but then again its not trying to be. The food is cheap and cheerful and the drinks are reasonably priced. A good mid weeker place to go for a meal and a few drinks without breaking the bank. Well done guys for keeping it real.

I've been coming to this place for the last two years and its still not old. great Food, Great atmosphere, fantastic prices and definitely a great place to hang out with mates for a good meal and drink for a cheap night out.

Service wasn't like proper dine in resturant rough service , but anyhow we order handful of tapas which looks mouthwatering and taste was absolutely brilliant. Not going back for service but definitely for food ..after all 10/10 for food ..

I love this place. We used to go all the time when we lived on that side of town and now I'm missing it! Went once because the galleon was an hour wait ad never ever looked back. Good menu variety, really lovely staff (the two guys especially.... One of the girls I could do without) nice coffee and the tables outside are nice and sunny in the afternoon. Best brunch!

What on earth could make an egg, so... Spanish?! <br/>As I began to settle down and become more calm, I noticed a striking yet instantly recognisable logo - "Free Wi-Fi!" I bellowed, tears now running down my smiling cheeks! <br/>I approached the bar, somewhat nervous and excited; hoping this sensational experience would never come to an end, I was greeted with a dashing smile. I'm unaware of his name, but he certainly was a cheeky chappy... but that's another story for another day!<br/>"I'll have the Spanish Eggs", I whispered, whilst handing over a folded up $20 note and a cheeky wink. Saturday morning breakfast decended into chaos.<br/>Deep fried sausages, fried egg that got scrambled at some stage & burnt chorizo. On the plus side the coffee is good but the staff have issues distinguishing arse from elbow.

Really good vibe warm good music had the 'bashed'avacado on sour dough poached eggs n bacon really fab service is pleasant but patchy the manager/owner on the ball but the rest of the staff very vague ...be good if they earned their money. all in all really recommend

Have been here FREQUENTLY since first discovering it about 6 months ago,always great service, no complaints,<br/>the food is great ,the menu is great value,like the chicken/beef burgers&chips only like 12$ ! <br/>I'm a big fan of the crumbed/stuffed mushrooms- and have converted some of my friends too :) .<br/>Have also been here when a few drinks are needed and again the value here is great!!<br/>nice jugs of beer ,probably cheapest in st kilda?9$ you cant go wrong like!! had a function here as well and all my friends and work collegues loved it , the atmosphere was friendly,and the owner and manager were very accomidating,doing special drink prices for the group.<br/>all in all I can't fault the place,its somewhere where u get a smile and a chat instead of being ignored by staff. <br/>cant recommend this place enough!!!<br/>looove it!!! :)
