Review Vegilicious - St Kilda

Georgios Manolis
Exceptional food and service! The flavours were superb. The omelette with vegan feta cheese was really fantastic - highly recommended. See my pictures from my first visit. Will be back for sure!

We found this place by accident, and loved it. If you are vegetarian or vegan, you will love this place too. And even it not, you should try it out. The vegan burger is pure deliciousness. Every dish we had was yummy. The juice of the day is also worth to try. Nice staff and an overall nice and green location. We will back and try something else. Expectations are high now. 😀

Cool little place just off the main street with great ambience, friendly staff and delicious food. We were running out to see a show and couldn't stay long. Next time we'll be spending a bit more time to sample all the deliciousness

Vegilicious is a rambling venue, with myriad things to absorb the curiosity and/or point the smartphone camera at. I had Sexy Oven Baked Field Mushrooms and a Cherry Berry Smoothie. With the front door open, wheelchairs could glide in. Children's seating is covered, with high- and not-so-high chairs. Since I was obviously favourably impressed, I'll no doubt be back... Delicious pumpkin soup (10/10), chocolate ganache dessert and another Cherry Berry Smoothie for visit number two.

So glad we dropped in here whilst we happened to be on this side of town!! Food was AMAZING and the service was incredible too. Couldn't fault it! We had the pulled jackfruit tacos and the Vegi PokĂ© Bowl. The mock duck on the PokĂ© Bowl is out of this world and the jackfruit was the best I've ever tasted. Will definitely be coming back 😊

Visited for the first, just the two of us. We didnt have a booking but the staff found us a table. I had the mushroom stroganoff and my partner the curry, both from the specials menu and both were excellent. Great staff, great meal and very affordable 😊

Situated near the corner of Nepean Highway and Carlisle St this restaurant exudes Chillout and hispter vibe. The stir fry vegie was pretty average. All we tasted was sweet soy sauce and not much of anything else. The baked mushroom was hearty and wholesome. Food - 6 Service - 6 Vibe - 7 Price - $$$

The restaurant used to be vegetarian but they are now 100% vegan now! 💚 They offer a nice menu with great variety of dishes, at a very good price. I recommend to book. We went during a weekday and they were already full. There are some spots where you can sit without reservation. But better if you can have a nice table and enjoy the decoration, you'll love it! Food was delicious! I can't say about desserts as we couldn't try them (we had so much food.... ). Friendly staff ;-) PS.: Go for the Okonomiyaki as starters! 💚

The place is beautifully decorated which gives it a great ambience. The staff is lovely. The menu is great. There are so many good dishes to choose from. As a group we had the banquet and it was great. Every dish was delicious and it was great to taste the different options of the menu. Super filling and great quality for only $25. Highly recommended not only for vegetarians but for everyone who want to have a great meal and a good time.

Had amazing service today along with how wonderfully the place is decorated. Then of course my meal was incredible, tofu scramble wrap with tomato, onion, spinach, mushroom and sweet chilli also a delicious chai latte. Was extremely pleased to pay $22 for all of this. Hope to find the dinner menu just as good when I go back. Strongly suggest updating the menu to what is currently served, think a while ago now they turned fully vegan makes it confusing seeing crossed out things and being told what is now longer being served. ïżœ

Visited for the first time today and it was amazing. Staff were super lovely even with the lunch rush and the food was incredible, some of the best vegan food I've ever eaten. Will definitely be back :)

Had a very bad experience with a new waiter last night 40 minutes wait for entrees (came undercooked) waiter forgot my drink order I order the baked mushrooms Vegan version, i received the non vegan version. i asked the waiter if it was real cheese and he immediately answered "yes" with a smirk. My friend said "she ordered vegan cheese" and the waiter said "well the damage has been done" Implying that i should just eat it. We stood up and spoke to the lady in charge who was very nice and understanding. She was lovely and helpful and informed us he was a new waiter ( I can only hope he's not there anymore). Other than that, the food we did eat and other staff were nice and the venue is pretty but i won't be going back.

This place has it all- Fully vegan, great atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food. I can't wait to come back here and try more of the menu!

Fave place ❀ Highly recommend. Our kids love this place too. Staff friendly and food is amazing !!! 👌â˜ș

Should be better than it is by now and seriously overdue for a new menu (have been for a long time)... even more so now they are still using the vegetarian menu even though they are now vegan

Since the first time we went there we loved everything! Amazing yummy food in a cozy place with a super friendly staff!! and now... 100%veganïżœ!! Do yourself a flavour favour and drop by.

Best plant based whole food restaurant we've ever been too. The app plate for 2 was the best thing I've ever eaten. So many choices and sauces. So delicious and very filling. Can't wait to go again.
Marilyn Firth
I've eaten here a few times now and never been disappointed. The food is sooo good, real, comforting and wholesome vegetarian and vegan meals. Last night I had the share platter with a friend and it was truly amazing! The staff are always friendly and welcoming even when really rushed they still have time to smile and make you feel important. My favourite vegetarian restaurant in Melbourne :)

Every time I've made the journey acrosss town to Vegilicious, it's been the highlight of my month. If I lived closer I'd be there every week. The flavours in every single dish are so wonderful and the presentation is outstanding. The atmosphere of plants and the general decore make a relaxed and cozy vibe. The staff are friendly and kind. The serving sizes are fantastic and beer prices amazing! Oh goodness me, I can't rate it high enough. Thank you to everyone there for facilitating such a wonderful dinner experience. I love Vegilicious!!!!! My vegan friends who I brought with me this time were equally impressed. I look forward to seeing you again soon when my Mum visits as she'll love it too. đŸ„—đŸ’•

These guys catered my wedding and it was insanely good! Probably about 80% of the people there were not veg/vegan and they were raving over it. Thanks so much for making our wedding dinner so delicious and special. The creamy mushroom pasta, the polenta chips, it was all amazing!

We had a lovely time we had with the family at Vegilicious, the food was amazing !!! even if you aren’t a vegetarian, very reasonably priced!! the atmosphere just beautiful..the trees and fairy lights Gorgeous ! Hard to find these days the staff truly so friendly and attentive, Just Perfect !! will be back again for sure !!

Emma, the so-called manager is very unprofessional and ruined what was supposed to be a special night after a rough few months. Emma, we planned on going all out that night but your attitude to my simple request of straining a cocktail (and very politely requested might I add), left me feeling very belittled. It ruined our whole night. My partner and I love supporting vegan restaurants but we don’t like supporting assholes. Vegan restaurants are few and far between, sadly, won’t be coming back.

Tonight was my second visit to Vegilicious and I was so pleased to find it just as awesome as it was the first time around. Firstly, the staff are amazing - super friendly and helpful. The food itself is incredibly tasty and the portion sizes generous. Although I'm vegan, my family is not - but this is one of those places that everyone can get on board with, due to the quality of the food. I feel pretty comfortable saying that this is one of my favourite vegetarian restaurants in Melbourne.

Share platter is great value, nutritious meals that taste AMAZING and great service that is personalised to suit your dietary requirement needs. Very popular at festivals and markets also! 😋

To start off, the staff here are lovely. Super friendly from the moment you walk in the door. I decided to order one of the specials for the day which was the baked “sexy” mushrooms with soy feta, fresh herbs and crispy polenta chips with salad. It was delish and definitely made me feel like I was nurturing my body! I would also recommend the apple, mint and chlorophyll kombucha. I will definitely be returning to try the raw pesto spaghetti! The atmosphere is really chilled out and they have lots of games if you wanted to have a little play while you wait for your meal. I came alone but it seems like it would be a lovely spot for big groups, too!
PlantBasedFoodSnob
Absolutely love this place! I have been a few times and the staff are always so lovely and professional. I had the lasagna and it was hands down the BEST I’ve ever had!!! It was such a generous serving and I ate it all because it tasted SO good! My partner had the Mac and cheese and we both agreed it’s the best we have had too! Love the vibe, the dim lighting and the friendly staff and of course the large variety of choices!!
Desiree Munro
Really friendly service and huge portion sizes. Anything Italian on the menu is a winner. Gnocchi are soft little pillows and marinara sauce is very, very rich, fresh and tasty. Nice wine too. Lemon cheesecake tops everything off well.
Be warned though..."entree" portions could easily feed a small family! :-)
Beebee
Great for group bookings! The banquet was generous & had great variety. Staff were so lovely & we felt well looked after. Hope to go back & order off the normal menu.
Lara Lia
Dont know about the good reviews but seriously was such a let down. Service was very poor, the guy ( assume is the owner ) was impatient and had an attitude while we were ordering. Food was very mediocre and honestly tastes so bland and definitely not worth the hype.
Always Hungry
4.5
I had the eggplant parma and the three others I was with had the mac n cheese.
Everyone was really happy with their meals, the service was good and the place had a fun vibe. I'd be happy to come back to try the other things on the menu.
Anna Mac
Food was fantastic and would order takeaway as it was truly huge portions and so tasty. However the service was below average. Waited 25 mins for our drinks after not being asked for drinks, then was brought some concoction that wasn’t mineral water. Was told it wasn’t on the menu and hey didn’t have it, after showing them that they did, was still told they didn’t have it. Had to try and flag people down several times whilst they sat at the table next to us eating.
Super unprofessional, so I will vote with my feet.
Bethany
Food was absolutely sensational! I had the veggie lasagne and everyone kept stealing mine it was amazing. Would hesitate to go back due to extremely rude women (presumably manager), guy waiter was great - friendly and polite. It’s a shame they weren’t all like that!

Staff: 5/5
Food: 5/5
Decor: 4.5/5
Price: 4/5
Will return? Yes!

Ordered the okonomiyaki, curry chicken and sage gnocchi - all were outstanding in taste and presentation. Service was exceptional, price was very reasonable and overall it was a very pleasant laid back dining experience. You wouldn’t even know the food was vegan! Will be back! (I was the fiery big breasted red head girl singing happy birthday to her best friend) 😂

Vegilicious has a relaxed and casual atmosphere with friendly staff. We decided on the share platter (min 2 pple, $25 per head) with a jug of sangria between 4. What a feast with individual portions of veg soup, green salad, crunchy polenta chips, crispy broccoli and cauliflower, tofu and vegie skewers (yummy sauce topping!) and an okonomiyaki Japanese pancake each, sufficient to fill our bellies and not enough space for dessert! It was a leisurely yummy experience with great friends!
Beatriz Ribeiro
One of my favourites, a classic... Been here multiple times! Has plenty of veggie options and a few more. Can’t get enough. Space is also great and staff is always very friendly. Keep up

You might find Spiderman lurking in the foliage, or maybe a game to play, or just be content to gaze around at the myriad other things of interest at Vegilicious. For my third visit, I'm going for entrée-sized pumpkin soup, so I can leave room for lemon-flavoured cheesecake and then Cherry Berry smoothie. A triple treat for the tastebuds.

The gnocchi here was amazing. I was really pleasantly surprised by the food, it's top notch. Well done chefs! Will definitely be returning with the family.

Group of 8 and all the food was really delicious! Heaps of variety. Will def be coming back. Only downfall is that some of their staff are not the most welcoming. But most of their staff is lovely.
Food Perfection
The service was excellent. We were made to feel very welcome and the waiter was very informative and friendly. The home made gnocchi was delicious.Look forward to trying other vegan items on the menu.
Steph Schneider
This place is amazing! Delicious food, great service and a great vibe to it as well. We all got the polenta chips, which are the best i have ever had, and now nowhere else compares! Also shared the lasagna which was incredible! Cant wait to come back
Andrew Goldsmith
Excellent experience. Very friendly staff, delicious and varied menu with full vegan options and lots of clever and tasty substitutes. Will be back again soon.
👍

Came for dinner with a group of 5 people. Service was very slow to take drinks orders and even give menus. Finally when we did order it took 45 mins to get food. Was told it was because we had a large group. Anyway, derive people were lovely. The food was quit tasty too I had the share platter which made it easy and got to try a few different things. Won’t be rushing back as I’m not vegetarian but I would happily eat here again if friends were going. Just hope Service is quicker next time.

This is my go-to place for special occasions. I've only ever ordered the extravaganza plate, which includes most things on the menu, and it's always been amazing food. Good value as well considering how filling everything is. Servers are friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is very relaxed. I always look forward to a meal here!

Situated near the corner of Nepean Highway and Carlisle St this restaurant exudes Chillout and hispter vibe. The stir fry vegie was pretty average. All we tasted was sweet soy sauce and not much of anything else. The baked mushroom was hearty and wholesome.

Delicious food (I had the okonomiyaki), very friendly service and a nice, relaxed atmosphere. I'd recommend to vegans and meat-eaters alike.
The.Top.Lifestylee
Every dish was so tasty and delicious. It was quite pricey but the flavours in the dish and quality of ingredients made up for it. Would recommend if vegan or vegetarian as it’s a full vegan place and the ingredient are all so fresh and flavoursome.

Me and my partner had to wait 2 hours after our entrees to receive our dinner. We were so angry and was contemplating leaving how many times. The staff are so rude and throw menus down like they couldn't give a damn. My parter ended up saying look this is stupid where is our food or where leaving. They finally brought our food even though we had lost our appetite by then and feeling so anxious about our night there, we didn't even want to eat anymore. The food is horrible. I don't know how you can sell stuff like that. Most things were canned. I would of loved a freshly squeezed juice though I got bottled. My partner had to scrape his burger bun on the bottom it was jet black. He gave me a taste and is was the most horrible burger I've tasted. To be honest took it home for the dog. Pasta I had was average at best. Nothing I had did I go crazy about. I ordered Laksa and was told we don't have it. What we are most upset about is, If a business makes a huge mistake like this then make it up to your customers. We waited for 2 hours sitting there obviously hungry and upset. Why not say hey guys desert is on us .. so sorry about this... Instead they tried to blame it on us.. which they were quickly left red faced. When we left do you believe no sorry and didn't offer a discount! So I said I would like a discount this ruined our night! She was so upset and didn't want to do it throwing the money in the till and rolling her eyes. She reluctantly gave us free our starters. Which we were thankful though know how to treat your customers.. bring a little cake out ... something?? If you want to keep a good name and rep then it starts with looking after your customers and making sure they leave your restaurant happy! a lot of work yes! but don't bother opening a restaurant if you can't so this!!!! cos it won't last!
VeganeatsM
The food here is okay, but my main problem is the way the menu is labeled. The menu clearly labels some things as vegan and other things as vegan optional. The man serving us then told us that everything on the menu is vegan. Someone I was with then ordered the trio of dips and one of the dips it came with was tzatziki. I understand that it may have been a plant based tzatiki, but then why is the menu labeled as vegan optional instead of just vegan?
I had the Raw Zucchini Spaghetti. It was okay but not something I would come back for.
Jayde
Came here as a non vegan person with my vegan friend and was very impressed. Would highly recommend the vegan sample platter- seriously delicious and couldn't believe it was vegan, and I can tell you that being a meat lover myself, I did not miss the meat. I love the ambience and decor inside as well. It is quite over priced however and not a fan of the waitresses' attitudes.
Ellie
Absolutely incredible food and great portion sizes for a great price! Beautiful interior and fantastic service too! Ive been recommending to everyone!
ScottW
Went with a Vegan friend recently and as a non-vegan person I loved the food! The savoury items were flavoursome and tasty but the desserts were what stood out, so much I ordered 2!!!
Merry Rourou
The food is good, generous portions with lots of options. It's a shame it's not open for lunch. The place is nicely decorated (love the plants and the bright orange wall that gives a tropical vibe). Friendly staff as well !
Foodie
Lovely ambience and quaint! We got to sit in a nice table for 4. We ordered the rice paper rolls and cauliflower florets for entree, and I ordered the egg plant parmigiana for mains, my daughter, pesto linguini and wife, ginger tempeh hokkien noodles. The entree was good! The mains were HUGE and generous. The ginger hokkien noodles were a bit too gingery and my wife couldn't finish it. My parmigiana was good without being sensational. The service was ok, and reasonably warm, however the lady forgot my wine order and then charged me for 2!

Ok. Difficult to see myself returning.
Purple Anise
Love this place! Amazing, friendly and attentive service and an incredible menu. Loads of vegan options and a terrific atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Dimzib
Very average vegetarian food is served here and is slightly overpriced. The dishes are nothing new or innovative, but they are tasty and get the job done for a quick and satisfying dinner. The polenta chips are recommended, and the gnocchi is slightly too oily and results in a 'monotone' flavour towards its completion as a dish. The atmosphere is cozy and calm and the staff do reflect this. They are generally quite friendly.
Kelly F
Love love love! Serves a very generous and always tasty. Those Japanese pancakes OMG! Delicious... will always be back, I have a whole menu to try.
Choc Pudding
Okay I have not been to the restaurant but the other week the council had them to provide food for a local festival and people were amazed with the food. The two staff there were very friendly and professional. My husband had haloumi burger which looked small but actually filled him up. It tasted good too. I had okonomiyaki and stir fried tofu and veggies with quinoa. The sauce of the stir fry was a winner! So I can't comment about price since I did not pay anything but for vegan/vegetarian food, that was amazing. I would not mind going to the restaurant one day.
Cheryl Maree
My daughter is Vegan and introduced me to Vegilicious. I was most impressed. We travel from Langwarrin just to eat here! The Gnocchi is a favourite of mine.
Divine food, Friendly service, Great vibe!
Paul Delaney
Love this place I'm not a vegetarian at all but the food here is so tasty you don't need any meat in it the smells coming from the kitchen are amazing the staff are quirky but cool great variety on menu in both food and drinks list also very well priced will be going back again and again.

My family loves this restaurant. Never disappointed, really accommodating to small children. We always get the platter and are never disappointed- always something a fussy 3year old will eat so everyone is happy!! Beautiful food cooked with love.
Danae Nae
Vegilicious used to serve delicious, fresh vegetarian food, I don't know what's happened over the last 6 months (maybe change in management) but every time I visit it gets worse. The customer service is appalling to say the least. Front of house staff have no clue what's going on and on top are rude and I've had my booking forgotten multiple times. Visited recently and despite it being a busy period the food took well over an hour and to top it off was served a platter of deep fried, tasteless food. Melbourne has too many veggie cafes/restaurants to bother coming back here!
Sanj Tanya
Not sure if it what I ordered or if that's the standard of their food but I wasn't exactly impressed. Was hoping for a bit more flavour and spice, so was rather disappointed since I had some decent expectations for this place. Rather overpriced for the quality of their food and drinks.
Sam Jones
We have been frequenting Vegilicious since it opened. Food and service superb as always Best vegetarian spot south side We are very grateful again!!!!!
Mar Lon
Horrible service! I have booked a table three times in the past and every time my booking hasn't been accounted for. The staff members don't seem to care about customers and the wait time is unbelievably inflated, don't bother with this place. Melbourne is saturated with accomodating veggie places, this one is worth a skip!
Kim
Love the vegan platter and cauliflower fritters. Nice atmosphere and great service. I like that they have lots of vegetable based dishes instead of veggie meats.
Vinz Arena
I have been here a few times and I ate always very good.

Vegetarian and Vegan options. Pancakes was delicious, the sandwiches was big and very good. Friendly staff. They need a better burger...
Kim Logan
Had a very bad experience here
- First time
- Waited 40 minutes for entrees (came undercooked)
- Waiter forgot my drink order
- I ordered baked mushrooms vegan option
And received non vegan option. I asked the waiter if is was real cheese and he responded immediately with "yes" and smirk. No apology or there was a mix up, the waiter said "well the damage has been done" implying I should just eat it and followed that with "I'm vegan too" which makes less sense to me.
My friend and i stood up spoke to the lady in charge who was lovely and helpful. She explained to us he is new waiter and apologised. We said we were happy to pay for the drinks which she was ok with and we left.
The other staff were nice and the food we did have was fine. The venue was pretty but I won't be going back.
LAC
Have come here twice and both times ordered the platter. It's great value for money - the food is tasty and filling!
Service was slow the last time and took over 30 mins for the food to come out. So we were offered rice paper rolls on the house, which were fresh and delicious! Highly recommend the rice paper rolls!
Simmyeats.Melb
Cute little restaurant with great service, unfortunately I was let down with the food. My friend and I shared the curry of the day and the curry laska. I found the curry of the day to not have much punch in it and the brown rice tasted like cardboard / bain marie food, not appetizing at all. The roti and tzatziki was nice and that was enjoyable. The curry laska was nice enough but I wasn't wowed. Tried the organic shiraz wine which was lovely. Don't think I would go back as this was the second time I have been here and both times were a little underwhelming.
Yvette.b
Loved it here! The menu selection was very decent, with a wide selection of vegan dishes as well as vegetarian. We dropped in on a Thursday at around 8:00pm, so needless to say the place was chock-a-block. Though they were super busy, the staff still made us feel welcome.

We ordered the Polenta Chips to start, which never arrived, however this could be because the waiter wasn't sure if they were vegan or not, and I did say if they weren't not to worry.

That said, we ended up glad they never arrived, because the main dishes were huge! So tasty as well. Will definitely be back to try the other dishes on the menu!

EDIT: Updating score to reflect most recent experience. Love it here.
Christopher Jayakar
Went to vegilicious based on a friends recommendation, and for a person like me used to eating meat while dining out, this place was a real surprise.
The all vegetarian menu had a lot of choices so we ended up ordering 5 main dishes and sharing.
The best were the eggplant Parma and gnocchi.
Will have to go again to try the other items on the menu.
Asomek
We came for a quick bite before heading to the movies. We didn't book so were put right at the back which is fine, but it was very warm inside (perhaps they could have turned on the air conditioning?)
We ordered the vegan okonomiyaki and laksa with a glass of pinot gris and Shiraz. The wine arrived fairly quickly and was quite nice (biodynamic and vegan), but the food took at least 30 minutes. The Japanese pancake was delicious, great flavour and texture, large portion. After having to ask for a spoon I tried the laksa, and it was atrocious, quite possibly the worst soup I've ever eaten! It reminded us both of cream of mushroom soup in a sachet, It was about as far from laksa as you can get. I took one spoon and sent it back, swapping for the vegan burger with house chips.
In the meantime we tried to order another round of drinks but could not find a server anywhere, then after going to order at the bar the drinks seemed to have been forgotten.
Eventually the drinks and burger arrived, and the burger was quite delicious: great solid texture and nice crisp bun. Unfortunately the house cut chips were dismal. Soft and raw and soggy with oil. Perhaps their deep fryer wasn't up high enough?
Overall the food was nice, but let down by the laksa and soggy chips.

Staff weren't very attentive, and long wait times.
Sir Lunchalot 3rd
Really mediocre food. A real shame given the number of Vegan places south of the river.

Portions are huge which will agree with some (like veggibar lovers) but quality, not quantity I say.

Once was enough for me.😐

(People were nice tho)

FoodingAroundMelbourne
Had the okinomiyaki last night here at 'vegan and vegetarian' night at the Preston food truck park. It was nice, but not great. It had too much salad without any real flavour, served on the side and when you take that away the dish was rather expensive.
Vicky
Worst food I have had in a long time! I'm vegetarian myself and went here wth friends for late lunch on a Sunday. We were all very much disappointed by the food especially considering all the positive ratings & reviews on Zomato. The pumpkin soup was awfully sweet, the gnocchi were served in a lake of butter and the curry was too salty. Maybe the chef had a bad day but The food was absolutely terrible and I would never come back!
Emma
Shared the vegan platter and it was amazing. So much food we couldn't finish it but they let us take the leftovers home in a container. Also tried the special which were little pot pie things and they were delish.
Donutsam
If I’ve ever wondered what human form a vegetarian restaurant would take, it definitely came in our server. Fun, unpredictable, loud and could have used a touch of salt. On a busy Friday night this quirky Balaclava spot had a definite boho vibe with an evening midsection featuring a belly dancing showing off her fantastic midriffs.
Ophelia
We had the Vegetarian Share Platter for two people, plus a mulled wine each. The food was plentiful and delicious, and we were able to takeaway what was left over. My favourites from the share platter were the skewers and the okonomiyaki. Would definitely be up for visiting again.
Bee A
Food was incredibly delicious, however the service was very poor. Waitress kept forgetting drinks we had ordered and we had to keep reminding her to bring them out. All the meals came out staggered, so people were finishing eating before others had even started. They refused split bill with no signs or warning prior that they don't split bills.
Loz Arthur
Absolute gem!! Stopped by for dinner and was overwhelmed! Loved the atmosphere as soon as we stepped in the door! Ordered the mushroom pasta with a side of chips and a mug of mulled wine. It was all so good! Pasta was delicately creamy and the mulled wine was excellent! The waitstaff were friendly and definitely added to the evening! Will certainly be back to try out the rest of the menu!
VegoLover
Veg platter for 2 is always delicious and very filling. Also got to try the sexy mushrooms (vegan) which were just amazing, highly recommended!! Service was great and atmosphere in front of the open kitchen is so much better than the courtyard. The only downside was it's hard to make a booking. Even when you leave a message on the voicemail when staff is busy they don't return your call to confirm so you have to keep calling back which is frustrating.

Update: tried the sexy mushrooms tonight with Parmesan cheese and they're no where near as good as the vegan version which had some mixed veggies & walnuts as fillings.
Teagan Symons
Very good food, the eggplant parma is very good and the staff are very nice. The smoothies are delicious especially the apple one. Overall an amazing restaurant
Ed
Vegilicious...simply DELICIOUS....well hard to write a review for such a wonderful place. Beautiful arrangements ...cozy feeling and a lot of privacy.

Minimal use of electricity and gives a feeling as you r in forest and having a candle light dinner.

Staff is awesomely friendly and at your service when you need it.

Food was great being vegetarian. Being a hardcore non-veg eaters, this was a great experience. Thanks guys for wonderful time.

Must try - gnocchi & eggplant parmigana.
Murphyrachel61
The place and menu are over rated and over priced. Staff are too busy talking to each other in the kitchen than serve customers. Menu is very basic. We would never go there again !
Jane Smith
It is rarely possible to find Organic wines served by the glass. How wonderful to find at Vegilicious an exception to that disheartening pattern. To enjoy a fresh and appetising meal and wine produced without poisoning the planet was a joy.
Ruth Kusionowicz
As a big meat eater, I always love finding a place that does vegetarian food so well that I don't miss the meat. That's exactly what Vegilicious achieves.

The menu is a lot bigger and varied than I'd expected. So hard to choose as everything sounded great! Having seen a couple of people receive it, I wish we'd gone with the waiter's suggestion of the shared platter - a really decent amount of food each and a great selection of what the menu had to offer.

Instead I had the curry puffs to start. The pastry was lovely and flaky, and the filling soft and nicely spiced. The salad that came with it had a lovely light but tasty dressing on it too. My Dad had the Japanese pancake which was quite thick but full of sweet soy sauce flavour complimented by the Asian style mayo.

For main I had the crunchy pide - basically sliced vegetables and spinach in a lovely crispy bun. Until I added the sweet chilli sauce & onion jam that came on the side it didn't have too much flavour. But it was still cooked well, and the skin-on chips served with it were delish! The curry of the day (chickpea Korma) that my parents went for was the better choice. Full of great flavours, vegetables cooked just right & my Mum particularly liked the roti that was included with it.

As the food was so good we decided to treat ourselves to a dessert, even though we were pretty full! I shared the passionfruit and white chocolate mini cheesecake with my Mum, which was wonderfully soft with the tang of the passionfruit. The coconut ice cream/shaved ice served with it was the perfect accompaniment. My Dad went for the chocolate walnut cake which was rich and nutty, served with an orange marmalade with a strong cardamom taste (which he loved, but I'm not a fan). Considering the good portion sizes we'd had before, I thought the desserts were a little small compared. Not that we needed any more though!

The place itself is quirky and ramshackle, while feeling cosy and friendly. The staff were all friendly and knowledgable. Our whole visit was just great. Very happy customers & I'd definitely recommend to all!
I really wanted to love this place. It had a nice vibe and the staff were good. We ordered 2 "crunchy pide" and a starter of pumpkin arancini balls. Came reasonably quickly but the "crunchy pide" were not pide at all, they were just veggie burgers; A normal bread bun with roast veg inside. What!? How is that pide? If we wanted a burger we'd have just ordered a burger, (there was a separate burger on the menu!) Not a great tasting burger either. Maybe they use pide bread for the burger bun, but it was really inaccurately described. The pide burger things came with chilli on the skewers and my partner tried a tiny taste of one and said it was the hottest chilli he's ever eaten, and he loves chilli, but this was too much for him. Menu didn't say anything about chilli, so I think that's pretty crap. The arancini balls were ok but pretty tasteless, didn't finish them. Everything needed salt. Was so disappointing.

Delicious food , and fabulous atmosphere. Worth trying for veggie lovers as it has a lot of veggie options and all are good. just loving it every time I go there
Tangerine Sky
really tasty and such a great range of dishes to choose from. service can be a bit spotty but it's a relaxed atmosphere and the courtyard room is a great place to hangout while you're waiting to order.

Fantastisc food, so much to choose from! Great service, very friendly and quick. The portion sizes were huge so I got half of my dinner to take away for lunch :) also the place has a great atmosphere, will come back soon!

As vegetarians we thank our stars to find Vegilicious in our vicinity. The only words that come to my mind for vegilicious are yummylicious, friendilicious, cosylicious. The staff is so friendly and the place so cosy that it feels like you are hanging out at friends place. The Japanese okonomiyaki pancakes are so tasty that I regularly get cravings for them. Veggie burger and veggie laksa are finger licking good. Who needs KFC when you can have crispy cauliflower fritters.

Amazing place amazing staff and amazing food.

Who said vegetarian or vegan food had to be boring. Certainly not me, and if you need convincing you obviously haven't been to St Kilda's Vegilicious.

Vegans - the menu variety is wonderful. A great dish to start with on your first visit might be the platter - big wooden board with a very wide array of dishes to share between two people. P.S the raspberry mocktail is very sour if you like that type of thing---I like lemons :)

Loved it, as did Sue. Service was terrific, loved the "vibe". If I could eat like this always, I would. Nothing I could fault, Delivered delicious. We will be back, with friends.

Absolutely love love loved it here. Went here based on the reviews on Zomato and so glad i did. Ordered the share platter for two so we could try a bit of everything. It did not disappoint. There was far too much for the two of us but it was all smashing. Definitely coming back here and spreading the word.

Healthy and insanely tasty food. In a world where burger joints are springing up everywhere, it's refreshing to find this place bucking the trend.

The okonomiyaki is a standout but the deserts also impress. Generous serves, lovely service, this place has real heart.
Melbourne's Munchies
Got the share platter for 2 after a recommendation from someone! All i gota say that was some tasty stuff i ended up eating the whole thing by myself 😁 recommend it for some variety

As far as a veggie only restaurant goes, this is my favourite in the city! Cool place, yum food, friendly staff. The platter was huge, 2 of us couldnt even get through it! What more do you want?

Great decor and lighting. Cosy and comfy inside. Friendly staff. Menu is average..needs more variety. I had the apple crumble dessert which was just TOO big..and cold in the middle which was dissapointing. However, they have one of the best Veggie burgers I've tried for a while. Would rate higher but I haven't sampled much of the menu. Will be back to try more dishes

Had never heard of this place before til searching for it on here. Was so impressed as soon as I walked in the staff were friendly, it had a cosy, cool atmosphere with art work on the walls, lots of plants and earthy colours and candle lit tables. We got the bread and dips to start which was yummy, cocktails which didn't come out til the mains did even though we ordered that first, but didn't mind as was all so good. For mains we had the share platter, we struggled to fit it all in, so much selection. I would definitely go back again

Excellent food- interesting, tasty, generous portions. As non-vegetarians this is the veg restaurant we go to even without our vegetarian friends. Atmosphere and service are comfortable and capable though we have to ask for music to be turned down.

VegeDELICIOUS! What a gem that I've driven past multiple time but have never stopped in to eat. Vegetarian or not you'll enjoy the hearty meals that they have to offer

Had dinner here tonight and have a bit of a mixed review! Overall the food was delicious (though I've had better veggi burgers) but the service from the staff wasn't all that great. The place was packed, however I feel like this shouldn't be an excuse to ignore customers. We had to wait for ages before we finally managed to get the attention of staff to move our plates and to order dessert. Plus one of our meals was mixed up and we had to wait longer.

We also felt the waitress was a bit "bored" of us, and simply threw down forks/spoons in the middle of the table for dessert (not counting how many was needed or placing by each person).

Big mistake. Came here with a 14 person dinner groupand the entrees served had small chips of glass throughout. Staff took the plates away and said sorry about that - but no further mention of the incident... like it was being brushed under the rug!

We also had someone who was intolerant to garlic and onion and she was only given bread as an alternative meal. After complaining, and waiting an hour two skewers were brought out with tofu, vegetables and ONION. Again... saying our friend was completely intolerant to onion and garlic, the staff said they would Do something else.

We then waited two hours for a different meal and a stir fry eventually came out... On completion of the meal we could see pieces of garlic at the bottom of the bowl - then we were told by the wait staff it had a garlic sauce. So my garlic and onion intolerant friend is now in for a considerably bad night.

My advice? Go elsewhere. There's lots of better places out there AND with better service!

Disappointed and won't be back!
Worst attempt at a laksa that I have ever had, and I've had some very bad laksas. Tasted canned, and the noodles were nonexistent. First and last visit, I'll head back to Veggie Bar...
LuckaPucka
Overpriced and tasteless would sum up this place. The food was so flavourless that despite being hungry I didn't even feel like finishing my food. Each dish is nearly $20 so quite a waste of money.

This place is amazing! The rating says it all really. Atmospheres rules, cute decor. 11/10

We went to Vegilicious when they first opened and although we liked it, we now really enjoy it! The food has increased in taste with great flavours and variety. We often get the mixed platter which can vary, but each time we have been delighted with the different arrangement. Not being vegetarian, however we eat whole foods and prodominantly organic plant based, we always leave feeling full to the brim. The only observation to improve is the spead of service. It can take a while for meals to reach tables.

Awesome food and very attentive service. Will definitely return!

Poor customer service, long wait for average food. I'm a vegan so imagine my delight when Vegilicious opened locally. The menu is adequate but you need to check carefully regarding vegan options - some products still contain animal products but other aspects of the dish are veganized. However, there are some nice vegan choices. The primary issue is the appalling service - our waiter didn't bother telling us the specials and then we waited more than 40 mins for a simple veggie burger... on a pretty quiet night. When I questioned the staff about why we had to wait so long I was told that the kitchen was disorganized. Unacceptable - yes, you're 'finding your feet' as a new restaurant but surely you would have the formula down pat from the Brunswick restaurant. I would NOT recommend this restaurant until the customer service improves.

Great place. Lovely service, Great food, Very reasonably priced! Recommend the rice paper rolls, also the cumin cauliflower fritters. Would happily go again!

Best veg around. My friends and I enjoyed a great evening at vegilicious last night. The staff were friendly and the food was amazing. What a fantastic find! Unanimously recommending the share platters..

Yum, fresh, decent servings and friendly staff. Best Bloody Mary in the area

Quality not Quantity. We were really looking forward to the venue, sadly disappointed. Very bad service, very bad food. Toilets filthy. Never going back.
Chloe
Great food but slightly concerned regarding their definition of vegan friendly. Ordered the gnocchi which had ' vegan option' next to it. After I ordered it, the waitress explained that the gnocchi had egg in it but the sauce is vegan friendly.. Which doesn't make sense. Just ensure what you order is actually vegan. Would go back in the hopes they sort out the menu!
Trish.laforteza
Poor service. Average food.. Went for lunch and ordered a starter and main. Requested to have the starter first but the waitress served them both at the same time saying "I told the chefs you wanted the starter first but they didn't listen to me. Oh well the main should still be warm after you have the starter." Really? And plus I ordered a smoothie that didn't arrive to our table. Never coming back to this place.

Tonight my friend and I decided to try out Vegilicious. After the initial excitement that dining at a foreign venue brings, we soon realised we were in for a wait. It was not a busy night but we waited 40 minutes for one entree and 60 minutes for two mains. The staff seemed to be oblivious and fairly neutral. They were not rude but not smiles were to be seen and I realised some other tables had also been waiting for a long time. Food was great but service and service speed need to be worked on greatly before I consider coming again!

Simply Vegi-delicious. We had the sharing platter which was recommended by the very efficient and knowledgeable waitress. We amazed by the variety and the great taste. The platter consisted of a beautiful salad with sprouts dressed just right to give a little tang and keep things interesting. The tofu skewer was interesting as the tofu had been marinated thus making it very interesting and different. The rice roll was fresh, crisp and simply great. The little pies were stuffed with scrambled tofu and fresh corn - fantastic. Plus the was a potato pancake with seaweed and topped with pickled ginger giving the dish a rosti salmon kind of look - and the taste was terrific. Would we go back - for sure. Value for money - excellent. Service - friendly All round 5 stars.
