Review Big Mouth St Kilda - St Kilda

Jessica Liu
Great venue for a catch up, upstairs has informal seating where you can have lunch on a couch with a group of friends in your own little corner! Great flavours and prepare to get your fingers sticky with their yummy buffalo wings!
Caitlin Carthew
Such an experience. The decor is eclectic, music going, love the upstairs dining with some couches and big windows. The bartender was fantastic and food was beyond tasty!

Big mouth is everything you want in a pub! It’s spacious - over two levels, it has great food at reasonable prices, has live music and the deco is welcoming yet funky. I’ve been here a few times and it’s the kind of pub I would always chose on the strip. Last Friday night we came here for a night out starting with cocktails. I had the caramel espresso martini which was absolutely delicious and garnished with a twirl of caramel toffee! We shared the following - the tummy burning jalapeños poppers which were stuffed with cheese, the tempura prawns and the duck tacos. The roast duck was cooked well and tasted so good with the coleslaw and hoisin sauce. For mains we had the steak and seafood pasta. The pasta had a generous serving of seafood including a number of mussels, prawns and more. I would highly recommend big mouth

Lovely place, great coffee! It looks small at the front, but upstairs is massive, amazing space with the classic artsy Melbourne decoration!

Great food, location, staff! Free Comedy on a Sunday is awesome, so many but known names turn up randomly and perform for free. The music on a Sunday evening with Danwar is awesome! Different every week! Highly recommend ✌️

A St Kilda institution. Haven’t been here in 15 years, but love the seasonal mulled wine that was delicious. Can’t comment on food, but the board games being played on the next table gave a fun ambiance.

Yumm Fridays 2 for 1 cockatils yes please. Really lovely comfortable atmosphere upstairs or down. Highly recommended

Live music was amazing. Nice big venue. Great for drinks with friends. Went there when there was a soul band playing and had a great night

I recently had my 21st birthday dinner at Big Mouth and it was a night to remember. Big Mouth were amazing! I hired out the room upstairs where we had drinks to begin and then a sit down dinner. There was a separate bar inside the room and the bartender was incredible! The friendly staff helped put together a menu that would be gluten free friendly for a couple of my guests :) The food was amazing and big enough for some people not to finish! The venue turned into a club at 10:30 which was perfect because a couple of us wanted to continue partying. Honestly, Big Mouth were amazing and all the guests and I agree the space was perfect and we will use it again for another function :)

We went to see Soul Glo. What an amazing band! We loved the ambiance at Big Mouth, the extensive cocktail list, the delicious parmas and chips, the churro dessert was to die for. Great service and friendly staff. We highly recommend.

Best spot in Acland St to sit and watch the world. Great food and staff. Glad I found this place

I Had a party in Big Mouth last weekend . We had such a great night . Rosie the events manager was most helpful and everything was great from the food to the music. I would highly recommend Big Mouth for a get together with friends to party the night away .

We recently had our staff Christmas party at Big Mouth and were very impressed. Rosie was a delight to deal with through every aspect of planning this event, making it very simple and ensuring to meet our needs. Everyone had a great time, the finger food was delicious and abundant, and staff made sure to touch base with me during the night to make sure everything was perfect for us. The recent reno upstairs brings a touch of class to a space that was beginning to look a bit tired, it's now fresh and fabulous! Thanks Big Mouth. Definitely recommended for a function!

We had our Christmas function upstairs at Big Mouth last week and it was a great night! Lots of food, great music and Rosie and the staff were a pleasure to deal with and incredibly helpful!! Thanks for making it so easy and so much fun!! Perri xx

Apart from the hiliarous name of the place& the juicy piece of pulled pork in my taco, am not going to brag about the place. My squid wasn't golden all & had no flavour or seasoning.
Emily Chadbourne
How can you not love this place? Good food, hilarious staff and always a great vibe!

Went to big mouth with my young daughter, husband and mother in law. The staff were so absolutely amazing from the bartender to the wait staff. Checking on my little one to make sure she liked the food and got rid of the part she didn't like lol I would go here just for the service!!! The food was amazing to top it off!!!!! Well done guys hard to find a place nowdays with such a great atmosphere!

Super food and super staff. Loved it. Definitely recommend.

Have been here before and had a good experience. Came back this afternoon to order the same vegan dish as I was very happy with it. Looked online and it is on the menu. Sat down and it has been taken off. Disappointed! :(
Quality! It Shouldnt Be That Hard! Love A Wonderful Mouth Full Of Wholesome FOOD!
We walked in and was blown away how the restaurant look. It says please wait to be seated. We waited for 5 mins and there was only 3 people eating in the restaurant. We ended up walking to the bar and said sorry we have been waiting for about 5 mins. Can we get a table for 2 he said sure any where in the courtyard,<br/><br/>The waiter came over asked if we knew what we wanted. I said we don’t have menus yet. <br/><br/>We ended up ordering the Arancini balls to share, they where so amazing.<br/><br/>My partner had the eggplant parmigiana. He said it was so tasty the egg plant was supper hot temperature wise so be carful.<br/><br/>I had a burger! It was amazing, it was full of flavors and could tell it was made fresh. Highly recommend it.<br/><br/>The only down side was the whole time waiting for a staff member to see us for a seat then the delay in the food. Apart from that it was good. It’s a little expensive but worth it.

A cool bar in St Kilda, Big Mouth is great for a few drinks at any time of day. With a chic and funky vibe, the decor here is gorgeous and plush. Lots of windows allows for a lot of natural light, but it still has an intimate feel.<br/><br/>At night the ambience is low lit and comfortable and it's the perfect place for a date night drink. The staff are fantastic and you don't have to wait long for your drinks and food to arrive. This bar is a pleasure to visit, and one that we will return to again.
Julia Sansone
Loved the drinks here and the cool decor in here. A great corner location on a popular strip in St Kilda. The gnocchi and calamari were a highlight! And the rhubarb spritz.

I haven’t really been to this side of St Kilda, but now I’ve gone I’m gonna come back! How have I not been to this place? Not only is the food delicious, but the whole interior is super retro and funky! We enjoyed an array of delicious dishes from calamar and gnocchi to eggplant chips! The cocktails are perfect, and recommend if you’re in the area to pop down!

Big Mouth is an all day eatery located along Acland Street St Kilda. Visiting late morning we opted to share a number of plates from the all day menu.<br/><br/>We ordered the smoky wings, albondigas, crazy Asian nachos, summer salad and eggplant chips. My favourite dishes were the salad, eggplant chips and the wings.<br/><br/>I’ve always enjoyed eggplant chips but it was the gorgonzola and honey dipping sauce that took this dish to another level. I loved the hint of sweetness from the honey. <br/><br/>The summer salad featuring prosciutto, char grilled peach and buffalo mozzarella was light and refreshing, and a great healthy option. The wings were juicy and packed full of flavour and I enjoyed the accompanying fried kale.<br/><br/>The crazy Asian nachos sounded interesting combining Asian flavours with nachos but somehow it worked. This is a great dish for sharing.<br/><br/>Overall I had a great experience at Big Mouth and would recommend visiting in the afternoon or evening. I’d love to return later in the day for a cocktail. It has a cool atmosphere, friendly staff and plenty of delicious food on offer. I rate Big Mouth ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5. Thanks very much for having me.

Our Mandatory Sunday brunch this time was at Big Mouth and again, totally disappointed by everything we tried here.<br/><br/>It's one of the most iconic places in St Kilda and having heard lot of nice things about it and the burgers, excitingly ordered a Soft Shell Crab Burger and Some classic Steak (forgot the name). We also ordered 2 Hot Chocolates.<br/><br/>Overcooked Beef and Crab meat, flavorless dressings, slight bitterness from the red cabbage or rocket leaves used in the Soft Shell slaw dressing made the whole experience bitter. Hot Chocolates were runny and too sweet.<br/><br/>Compared to our experience we feel the prices were steep, and attendants were very attentive.<br/><br/>Wouldn't go here for brunch...But might give their bar a shot at night.

Big mouth is a funky, colourful with fun atmosphere. There are a lot of seats upstair with a nice view of the area and a pool table. Great vibes.<br/><br/>We started our meal with peking duck tacos and arancini. We really recommend the peking duck tacos, it's such an awesome fusion of two different cuisines.<br/><br/>For main, we had pork ribs and a scotch fillet. They were pleasant enjoyed. The meat were cooked to perfection.

Such an amazing ambience with such a knowledgeable and helpful staff. With a delicious cocktail menu and to pair it with amazing bar style food. Big Mouth is the place to be in St Kilda

A good find on a busy night. Excellent staff managed to accommodate for a big group late on a Saturday night. Great pub food and well priced for the area!

had a beautiful brunch at Big Mouth and it did not disappoint 😍🔥<br/><br/>Got the spare ribs and it was beautiful. It was tender and marinated with the perfect amount of sauce and suited well with the baked potatos, beans, broccolini and spinach.<br/><br/>The staff were lovely as well, definitely helped us out with what to order and gave us good descriptions in terms of the portions of the dishes.<br/><br/>10/10 recommend

I love Big Mouth - we have become regulars here just recently - not sure if they have changed owners or not however, the food has definitely changed. I highly recommend the burgers and wash it down with happy hour beer prices. The live music is fantastic - they have picked their artists well here is always people dancing and having a great time. Will definitely be back for more - especially the food.
Burgerlover
One of the best pubs in St Kilda! I highly recommend the scotch fillet, seafood pasta and the tacos. Staff are great, service is quick especially the food service. Compliments to the chef
Split The Bill
Big mouth is huge on a Friday night! We came here for two or one cocktails ended up staying for the live music and we had a feast! We loved the jalapeños poppers stuffed with cheese, the duck tacos and the scotch fillet. We highly recommended Big Mouth.
KITCHFIT
A great place to eat and drink.<br/><br/>I have been here a few times and love that it’s open from<br/>Early morning to late at night.<br/><br/>Breakfast here was great! Too many great choices to<br/>Choose from. <br/><br/>Night life here is awesome as well. Great vibes, happy staff members and good times!
Mimi
This was my first fish taco experience and now they’re my fave. The jalapeño poppers were a tad heavy and greasy. But still a lovely lunch location.
Dine And Dash
Big Mouth has lived on bustling Acland St for many years and has become an institution and an icon in St Kilda. Starting off in the early days as a Russian ballroom, then a wax museum, a punk bar and tea shop until today where it's a popular and very busy bar and restaurant,<br/>It's on 2 levels in an art deco building and beautifully designed inside. The staff are very friendly and obliging and the venue is always pumping especially on a Saturday night. It's just an all-around great place if you like crowds and the buzzing vibe. Would highly recommend for a night out in St Kilda - open till 3am 7 nights a week and for breakfast, lunch and dinner . They do functions and weddings too. Also on every Friday is this fascinating journey of wine and story - from grape to glass.

$17 Fajitas Monday Night!<br/>Delicious meal, friendly team and extra sour cream topped off a very tasty heartwarming meal when I found myself dining alone for the first time in a long while (unexpectedly) tonight. Have to come back with friends for a regular Monday night special!<br/><br/>

Have always had a brilliant drinking experience here in terms of customer service and vibe.  The staff are so lovely.  Haven't tried much of the menu just yet, but I'll certainly be coming back to give it a try at some point.

Bigmouth is one of my long standing favourites down Acland street in St Kilda. I've been there for breakfast, giant midmorning muffins and cakes and coffee, dinners both upstairs and downstairs and I have yet to order something I haven't enjoyed. This makes me either a superstar at ordering the good dishes or tells you something about the food here. Coffee is reliable and staff here are generally pretty relaxed. They have a huge menu and there always seems to be something on special... taco day etc.
PedGetsFed
Went here a while back with a mate and got some distinctly average food...which was fine, I was expecting that and was paying a price that deserved that quality. However tried to use my Entertainment guide voucher when paying and they said it wasn't valid for our two main courses. I'm bitter, they didn't handle it great. Not a bad spot for a beer I suppose...maybe.
CC
Went here for dinner. Got here with the sun still out and we decided to take it slow, ordered drinks first then ordered food after. By the time we finished eating, it has gone dark and I wish that we moved dinner time to a later time since this place is seriously pretty during night. <br/><br/>What would I recommend this place for? <br/>If you're meeting that special someone from eharmony and not quite sure where to take them then definitely go here. The name of the place is a conversation starter in itself, There's an abundance of alcohol to calm the nerves, the vibe is fun and light, food is great and plates are big enough to share, and best of all it is bordering the lines of "we are just friends" and "this is something romantic". This place has enough romance with none of that awkward stiffness fine dining places have. In one word, this place has balance. Stats say 71% of people tend fall in love on the first date. Maybe you'll be part of that % if you take your date here. <br/>

Always a great place to head out to with a group of friends to enjoy some good food and have a drink. The bar staff do a great job getting the drinks and cocktails out without having to wait long!
Diane Tan
Got takeaway, mostly good.  Ordered southern fried chicken imagining juicy freshly fried chook like my mum used to make....unfortunately the chook was cooked to the point of dryness, and a burnt color on the outside rather than golden brown.<br/>On the upside the eggplant chips, salmon and ordinary chi ps were all quite delicious!
Plummy Loves Yummy
Pretty delicious comfort food really. <br/><br/>I had chicken wings and mac and cheese they were delightful. <br/><br/>A friend of mine had the prawn salad... I had food envy. Yummy and pretty substantial for a salad. <br/><br/>Recommend if a little tiddly and need a good carby feast.

Friendly, proficient service, good wine list & yummy food. Together with the ambiance, Big Mouth was a great place for a Sunday afternoon. We enjoyed the Beef Rib, with its smokey gravy, and a very good Mac & Cheese.

Big Mouth has been here for ages, and it's as good as it's ever been. Great service, great food, great advice on wines. An authentic local institution.
J0rdz
Cool place for a drink but their food is sub-par.<br/><br/>Dined in on a public holiday and were confronted with a 15% surcharge of our bill. Surcharge was clearly displayed on their menu, so it wasn't a hidden cost or anything.<br/><br/>The food we ordered was lackluster and really not up to standard. Southern fried chicken was dry and the seasoning tasted like it had been burnt. The "large" chips at $9 (not incl the 15% surcharge) were a rip-off. Pork belly was drowned in what we think was soy sauce and was under-cooked.<br/><br/>Wait staff were friendly and attentive, but it didn't really make up for the bad food.<br/>Stay clear if you want something nice to eat, but it's a nice place for a drink.
Maidtomunch
Big Mouth is a phenomenal place to eat, with every meal I have tried being great! The burgers are huge, served with a delicious dipping sauce (always wins points with me). The baked eggs in my photo were delicious, served with a mexican influence- pulled pork, sour cream, salsa and avocado- so delicious!
David James
Pulled beef sliders are to die for! Best chips around too so crispy and fresh. Lovely place to sit outside with a beer in the sunshine. One of my favourites 👍🏻
May
Loved the atmosphere, deco , lively music and efficient service . The food was surprisingly good! We had Asian style pork belly with Apple mint salad , and BM beef burger - both dishes were cooked to perfection, full of flavour and good proportions ! <br/>
Good Food Good Mood
Have been here on countless occasions post a lazy day at St Kilda beach. They have happy hours and food and drinks specials every night of he week. We usually get the bread and dips to start and on then a Parma. At $22 for 400g of free range chicken it's outstanding value. The decor upstairs in the dining room is random and eclectic but the atmosphere is relaxed and they often have live music. Wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to go there but if you are in the area it's not a bad option
Flowerbutton
One of my favourite local bars - the food is always good and their cocktails are outstanding. <br/>Best boozy breakfast in St Kilda, and the decor and ambience is like stepping into the prohibition. Love this place any day of the week.
Steph
This place was fantastic! It had a really cool vibe and the waitress/waiters were so lovely. We visited this venue on a voucher and they were more than accommodating, we will definitely be back. The margaret pizza was medium sized but perfect for one person, the chicken was AMAZING (I haven't had better fried chicken in my life), and my friends loved their BIG MOUTH burgers. The burgers weren't overbearing in size but filled everyone right up. The drinks came out a bit late but they were very busy and apologised for this. The cosmos were fab! All in all, thanks for a great night out BIG MOUTH.
BellaLovesPasta
What a waste of money!<br/><br/>Southside fried chicken: <br/>Bland. Batter had no taste. Couldn't taste the 'secret spices'. All could taste was boiled chicken that was then fried. The coleslaw was in the same box as the chicken that became warm and tasted weird. <br/><br/>Mac n cheese: <br/>Bland. Didn't taste cheesy. Tasted boiled pasta with cream and a sprinkle of cheese that had no taste. <br/><br/>Margherita pizza: <br/>Only item that tasted alright. Had taste of cheese and sauce on a thin base. However, the pizza was crammed into a box that was smaller than the pizza itself. So it was squished and wasn't cut up properly, so it became rather messy to eat. <br/><br/>A waste of money and time. We ended up throwing the food away and going somewhere else to eat.
Javier Aznar Peláez
Big Mouth is the perfect place to have a funny night after a day at st kilda beach. Or after work drinks...<br/>Really nice staff!<br/>Definitely I'll go back
Gastrology
Big Mouth is a relaxed watering hole with vintage chandeliers, dishing up breakfasts, share plates and burgers. Big Mouth's whole baby snapper was as pretty as a picture and tasted even better. We loved the crisp fried baby snapper served with mussels, prawns and calamari in a luxurious seafood sauce.
Jacob
A fairly sub-par establishment located at the end of Acland Street. There's a bar downstairs, but if you wander on upstairs, there's an open dining-room style restaurant. As many reviews on here state, the decor is out dated and pretty traditional. I ordered the chicken parmy, which I thought was basic and a little dry. The drinks menu is actually quite impressive - there's a good variety of cocktails to choose from which were made well by the bartender. If you're in the mood for a cocktail, head here on a Friday where they have a $10 cocktail special available; well worth the trip. I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here again, especially given the more attractive restaurant options nearby. If you're after a nice drink and want to get away from the often busy streets of St. Kilda, head upstairs and take advantage of the relaxing atmosphere that this establishment offers.
Shayne Walter
Great corner bar and restaurant, sunday sessions with a beer and some reggae is where its at. <br/>After we ate, and the band had been playing a bit, all the chair were moved for everyone to dance.
Brungiel
Big Mouth is ok for a few drinks in St Kilda, but don't expect anything spectacular. Decor is a bit dated, crowd is typical tourists and students (especially on weekends), and the cocktails are not great... But a good selection of beers and wines make up for that as a decent watering hole.
Taking A Bite
Visited Big Mouth for a lovely lunch. Located on one St Kilda's busiest streets, Big Mouth is a great place to be. The ranch salad with crispy cos lettuce, avocado and onion, and seared chicken with Peri peri sauce, and mum enjoyed her BLT, filled with crispy bacon. Large serves, packed full of flavour.
Melissa Yeap
Came here for dinner before a concert and the atmosphere at 'Big Mouth' was so chill 😌 enjoyed the vintage-looking and sophisticated decor in here. It was fairly empty on a Wednesday night but I made a reservation beforehand just in case. They had $1 chicken wings & a snapper special so we ordered that to share. Also ordered their ribs which was tasty and had a twist with their side dishes. Food took a little long to arrive but we demolished it in a quick. Overall, the food was good. Service was great, our waiter was always checking up on us for drinks; how the food is going and cleaned our table too.
Linnie Eats All The Food
The last of my zomato voucher and it was for Big Mouth. I decided to take my friend since we were due for a catch up. I made reservations just in case but it was a Monday night and it wasn’t really busy at all. We were ushered upstairs because it was way cooler (according to the downstairs staff) and it was totes cooler. Great decor, great vibe and lots of cushions for your tooshie.<br/>We picked any seat in the house and of course we picked the biggest table whilst we were the little-lest people. We were given menus and off we went on our food adventure. We decided to get the crispy chicken wingettes with blue cheese dip. THIS WAS AMAZEBALL! The chicken was succulent, the blue cheese dip was FANTABULOUS and the tamarind sauce was YUMMILICIOUS!
Mal
Great food. Friendly staff. Cold beer. Great menu. Whoever is in the kitchen knows what they are doing! No more needs to be said other than Sam is awesome!

Had angus beef burger on Wednesday night, the taste was awesome. Meet is really juicy and it goes well with something kind of beetroot jam which made the burger taste over the moon. Really enjoy it and more importantly it costed me only $15 and the cocktail is all $10.<br/><br/>Will definitely come back
Narzi-Goreng
Breakfast and an iced beverage during the day, great. But when the sun goes down.. Must consume as much dirty alcohol as you can to enjoy the night.. Music changes up which is good. Probably not my scene...
Minh Thuy Le
Had dinner here with the girls from work a couple of weeks back on a Friday night with drink specials. The girls loved it and the food was good and served in generous portions.<br/><br/>I ordered the vegan risotto and the capsicums were nice, while the rice was a bit too tart. The rice was slightly under cooked in contrast to the seafood risotto a colleague had and was overwhelmed with the tomato flavour. It may have been better to use tomato as a flavour enhancer and cook the risotto in a vegetable broth instead to balance the flavours out a little.<br/>Seafood linguine was delicious. A little oily, but otherwise very tasty. <br/>Seafood risotto was a lot nicer than the vegan one with flavour balance while the fish was well cooked. <br/><br/>Overall we had a good time there. The venue was lovely and the service was good. Food was also good and reasonably priced. This review is weighted heavily on the food.

For me, BM is a St Kilda icon. I recently had the pleasure of soaking up the mood and friendly banter that I remember the restaurant for.  I found the food to be well portioned for the price and tasted great. Interesting wine list, I recommend the 2003 ladbroke shiraz. I'll be talking my overseas friends in to enjoy the experience.
Nick The Greek
Have been here a number of times for drinks , found the dining options a bit limited. No complaints but better options in and around the Acland/Barkly precinct.
Adam McGuinness
I was delighted when I opened my big mouth and tasted the delicious beef pie. The meat melted in my mouth and was complimented by tasty vegetables.<br/><br/>Could have eaten two for the taste alone, however one was plenty filling.<br/><br/>Tuesday night is pie night and you really get bang for your buck. Not to mention nutrition for the mind as it is the entertaining and comical quiz night.
Melissa Cox
Such a great venue!!!!  The food, staff, drinks and ambiance all absolutely perfect, couldn't ask for more!!!  I had a ball and can't wait to come back :)
John
Terrific atmosphere, good food, great selection of drinks and superb staff.....especially the A-team...Rosie 1 & Rosie 2, Courtney and Emily.
Lizzy
Only have wonderful things to say about Big Mouth! The weekday lunch specials, yummy dinners and drinks, a weekend dance, and the friendly and hard working staff are just a few of the reasons I keep coming back!
Liliokalani
Best venue in st Kilda for dinner and a night out! And the best for a week day lunch with the gormet $10 deals! And can't go past the amazing bar staff Marcus and Rosie! 😉<br/>
Daniel Syme
Big Thanks to the Big Mouth crew. Always great service and the right atmosphere. the staff are always on the ball and seem to like working and actually WANT to be there, which is quite refreshing to see. Special mention to Rosie, Marcus & Alle. Made some amazing cocktails and really made my night, they converted me from my usual local. Well worth it. Keep it up guys
Maria Knapman
Food was great (i had the sliders! They were amazing), atmosphere was great and staff were really friendly! Would definitely book again!!!!!!

I had the Pork Knuckle at Bigmouth last week. It was this great big juicy knuckle with sauerkraut. The staff were really friendly and informative also. We ate in the dining room which has was gorgeously decorated and relaxed. After dinner we headed out in to the main bar for some cocktails. A really unique venue. Definitely one of my St. Kilda favourites.
Tiffany
Good food, great service! Going back soon. Lovely night out with lots of friends with attentive waiting staff. Nice airy environment in great situation.

Had the Goat's Cheese Salad which was excellent. Substantial and delicious. Good free trivia on a Tuesday and happy hour till 7pm. Will come again!
Felicity Hutchison
I love Big Mouth. The food is always fresh and clean and the staff are always happy to serve me. I always feel welcome whether I am on my own or with friends. The Quiz night on Tuesday is the bomb. Prices are generous.
Ana Stankovic
Always a St.Kilda favourite. Friendly service and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, we love it! Trivia nights on Tuesdays have been a great mid week night out lately. It's pie night too so for a fun, inexpensive night with a group of mates it's great. Highly recommended!

Whenever we travel to Melbourne one of our highlights is to stop at Big Mouth in St Kilda. It has a funky atmosphere with a fantastic outlook onto Acland St. We always enjoy great food and wine at affordable prices. The service is always prompt and friendly. We love it.
Jim White
Went to Big Mouth recently and was blown away! Friday night and it was getting dark and the place was filling up but the waitress was really on her game. Excellent menu knowledge and the specials were explained well. Our food was all faultless (Burger and Steak) with loads of flavour and both presented in an unpretentious and classic style. All I can say is you will be looked after and appreciated. Next time we will stay on for the tunes and have a biggie!
Allie
Every time I go to Big Mouth I have fun and experience great service and delicious food and drinks. Would definitely recommend the salt and pepper calamari.
Nick
A great venue with a fantastic atmosphere and really tasty pub food/ tapas!  The upstairs dining area has a really warm feel and can cater for a romantic dinner for two by the window overlooking Acland Street (I proposed to my now wife here :) ) or a relaxed meal sharing drinks and plates with friends on the couches.  There's a solid drinks collection (with good deals on cocktails as well) and the staff have always been really friendly and attentive.<br/><br/>Having moved out to the sticks we haven't had breakfast/lunch in the cafe downstairs for a while so cant comment on that, but really like getting in for dinner when we can.  Recommended!
Lisa.hodgson
There's always a fabulous 'sensory overload' happening when I've ventured into Big Mouth - the food is always very tasty & pleasantly consistent (but that's because, I do love a good burger!) The drinks are generous in size & flavour - I do like to bring my 'out-of-towner friends' here as Big Mouth has a great vibe and life is always 'interesting' in this part of the world!<br/>Which leads me to 'the tunes' - Big Mouth entertains...<br/>All in all, there's always something to enjoy - from satisfying a 'big appetite' to a late-night bite or bevvie!<br/>I really do love this look of this place - it's like I'm discovering a few of St Kilda's secrets every time I visit... x

We go here often and are never disappointed.. Friday nights are fantastic, great drink and food deals plus the chance to win vouchers, drinks or food... Which we have done a few times!. Kids are well catered for with an awesome and fresh kids menu, much better than the normal kids meals on offer at other places.. The duck dish is my absolute favourite and I find I am often craving a big mouth fix.  Staff are very friendly and overall a great experience every time!

We have been coming to Big Mouth for years. Its a great place for a casual drink with friends or dinner . The staff is friendly too. Recommend it!

Wow what a great relaxing atmosphere and fantastic service <br/>The food is awesome <br/>I highly recommend for either a great night out or for a casual call in

We had dinner on a Tuesday night. Beautiful and funky decor, warm and welcoming candles on the tables. It all look very promising to us. <br/>The food came out pretty quickly too. But the taste and presantation of my pork belly dish was very disappointing. It was too dry, not enough sauce, too fatty. It was sadly just not what I expected and I didn`t enjoy it at all. Also my partner had the steak and she was very disappointed too. It was chewy and fatty. We won`t return.

My favourite breakfast spot in st kilda. The hash browns are the highlight by far. Love to add a bloody mary to my hangover breakfast as well
Sez
Great drinks.<br/>Great service.<br/>Love coming here for breakfast. The meals here have always been well-prepared and enjoyable... then there's those wonderful bloody marks you make!

Fabulous Decor, Food, and Service...what more could you want. Big Mouth is reasonably priced and has fabulous decor, the food is fresh and really tasty and the staff are friendly and provide good service. <br/>We recently booked out the upstairs function room, and everyone who came loved the food and service and decor, a great place to have a small private function, for a reasonable price.
Pyewacket
Inedible food. Went there for dinner. Food was absolutely disgusting, the worst I've ever eaten at a restaurant. Stick to drinks but don't order food!

We ate a burger here and thought it was great. Delicious and juicy. And we got to sit up against the windows. It's such a shame this place is so small as the stools are quite awkward and uncomfortable.

Good tapas bar. Went straight and ordered most of the tapas sharing plates - highly recommend the chicken wings and the calamari rings. For tapas the serving size was generous and very good value for money. Food came out fast and service was attentive.

We waited aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages! The restaurant wasn’t packed, the staff seemed pretty relaxed, but it took so long for the food to come out.<br/><br/>Nat was happy with her creamy mushroom linguine.<br/><br/>My burger looked nice, but when I bit into it – the burger was COLD!

There is something about a perfectly poached egg, all bouncy, and ready to ooze its perfect “poached-poke-ooze”…
The Burger Adventure
We sat in one of their dining rooms and ordered the Big Mouth Burger that came with an Angus pattie, Monterey Jack, sweet pickles, pickled onio

Waitress smokes. The waitress stench of stale cigarettes was overpoweering > I was almost dry reaching<br/>We specifically asked if the bellies were fatty DEfinately not was reply<br/>Came fatty<br/>This is overrated maybe they are relying on previous reputation <br/>Sorry to say they have become laxidastical

Unpleasant experience, witnessing "supervisor/manager", talking down on own staff - loud voice, in front of public. Very unprofessional.

We went for a couple of drinks on a Saturday night very warm and inviting with a relaxed feel downstairs, tried out the snacks-wow! The Rice bombs filled with Beetroot and feta are amazing, potato cakes and crumbed olives are great will definitely be back to try the main meals!

Always a good time. I don't come here often but when I do it's always great. I love the set up, Big Mouth has a great look and there is always a good energy. The food is good, but a few dishes such as their calamari and arancini are a little average and lacking in taste. But all in all I think it's a good place.

St Kilda fav. We don't come here a lot but always love it when we do. Had an awesome anniversary dinner with my boyfriend here the other week made all the better by great service from our waiter James and the bar tender with the moustache & beard???? who remembered our drinks all night. Good food, good vibes, good service/staff, can't really ask for more.

Great tasting breakfasts but COLD both times we've been. Such a shame as the menu, staff and setup are really good and we'd be regulars if the food was served hot. The first time we went the eggs were really cold and they went out of their way to make it up to us. This time all but one thing on both plates was cold and we just sadly resigned ourselves to finding somewhere the cooks are better organised

Been here like 10 times! Love the food and the athmosphere!!

Help me understand how your no thongs policy works? Just got turned away from having a beer outside with 3 friends as i was wearing thongs and out of the other 10 people outside 6 were in thongs! I can assure you i will encourage everyone i know not to visit a hypocritical venue!

Came on a really busy night in St kilda with no reservation anywhere. After going from restaurant to restaurant looking for a place to eat, big mouth was our last option and it turned out to be the best. Great service, great food, and great vibe. The waiter even made room for us and gave us a table that was reserved! Definitely coming back here instead of the other snob restaurants in Acland St.

Watch out if you come here expecting vegan options from the website description. <br/>The only apparently vegan option on the menu, souk souk balls, came out with yogurt on top and feta inside the balls. Apart from chips or salad there are no vegan options at all.<br/>The meaty food my friend had was apparently good, and the salad I eventually got was good but not worth the $18 charged. Especially after a mistaken order.

Cool Vibe, Average Food. I like the venue and the service was good, but the food in my opinion was a little lacking. The calamari had no real flavour and the polenta crusted chicked was very tough and dry. The Rice Bombs were okay but also a bit plain in flavour.

Always a pleasure, food is good, staff are professional, friendly and efficient and the happy hour makes me very happy indeed, a great meeting place.

Thankyou Bianca!. Me and my partner went to Big Mouth on Sunday and it was great. We received the most friendly and helpful service from Bianca, which made our lunch/breakfast relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable. The food and drinks were also delicious.<br/>I go there quite often but by far this was my favourite time. <br/><br/>Thanks again Bianca! See you soon!

Yesterday my girlfriend n I decided to head down to big mouth for a feed n the sunday hair of the dog! A great venue with reasonably priced quality food n cold beers, a dime a dozen in st kild. However the thing that separates our Big Mouth experience vs any other at any number of st kildas fine eateries is the customer service n brilliant report there staff have with the clientele. I have had the privilege of dinning at some the best places Melbourne has to offer and in these circumstances where id been parting with far more of my hard earned than Big Mouth has ever asked from me and not once have I had even remotely as enjoyable experience as we had with Bianca looking after us.She is one of very few people working in the hospitality industry that appreciates how far a little real human interaction goes. She really took what we thought was just another quick feed to a bloody enjoyable experience. So if you to are looking for that point of difference in your dining experience head along to Big Mouth n hopefully you too will hsve Bianca looking after you.

This place is awesome. Happy hour is so reasonable and the Chardonnay is great. Bianca the waitress needs a payrise- made our experience awesome!!

VERY AVERAGE! Decided to h.... VERY AVERAGE! <br/>Decided to have dinner here... Mistake! We had the duck - small, no flavor. Calamari - nice. Burger - dry, tasteless, very dry and tasteless!<br/>I would try anywhere but here, sorry!
Rebecca
Lovely food with very rude staff. The food was lovely here, the staff - not so much <br/>extremely rude & in no way have an understanding of customer service. Party of 15 were very dissapointed at the end of the night, we will not be going here again or recommened anyone else to. Far better places on acland street that service great food with a smile.
