Great friendly staff, willing to assist with the menu and the food was awesome! We got the soft tacos: one with grilled steak, one with chicken and one with mushrooms and the nachos were massive for the price (added pork). All fantastic and authentic. Mojitos were nice and limey with enough ice to water it enough, good to offset the chilli. Would def recommend if you want a great traditional style meal. A+++

I have been here a few times with my partner. We love Mexican food and we have found this is great place for good food cheap drinks during happy hour 5-6:30 2 for 1 beers or margaritas.
The food is fresh good services and the staff is sweet and polite. Great hippy like restaurant. very cool place. Highly recommend it!
All the tacos are amazing this time around I did all vegetarian. Supper light and full of flavours. Last time we had prawn, and a few others this is the best place in st kilda for tacos for value for money! What are you waiting for!

Probably the closest you will get to the real tacos from California that is close to the city!
Had their 6 tacos for $25. If I were to rank the choices we chose, then it will go like this:
#1: Pulled pork - surprised me by how soft the meat was and the flavour from it and usually I’m not a fan of pork!
#2: Chicken - great all rounder, flavour was there
#3: Asada - meat was a bit overcooked and lacked the least flavour. Came back the second time and they were perfect!
If you can handle the spice, then I recommend requesting their “Jalepeno Salsa,” to have with the tacos! Soooo yummy and goes well with their quesadillas too!
Also ordered chips and guacamole, which is straightforward. Chips were a bit hard, but still good.
For drinks: Highly recommend ordering their michelada and asking for it to be spicy! Best michelada I’ve had!!! If you never had it before, it’s a twist to a Bloody Mary :)
Atmosphere: very cosy with a couple tables out front, indoor seating, and a small outdoor seating with lighting. Great date spot. Love the Mexican music playing in the background and on the screen.
Will def be back!

Went to Juana Taco for the first time and absolutely loved the Tacos! They were definitely the best I’ve had in Melbourne, you can tell that they’re the OG Mexican style!

Came here on Thursday night with 2 people, we sat in the booth area, ordered most of the tacos on the menu (12 in total = 6 for $23 DEAL!!!) pork was great nice slow cooked meat and salsa, steak was a bit too dry but I would expect that as the pieces are small in tacos so you would not be able to keep it rare in the middle, fish taco was my favourite.... nice beer battered fish with a good chipotle & red cabbage (a little spicy but worth it), I didn’t try the others mushroom & chicken or tofu, but the others said they were quite nice, corn chips & guac was a nice starter. $12 MARGHARITA’S!!!!!! ( better than radio mexico and almost half the price) Service was good however there wasnt many people there so the atmosphere was a little quiet, tiolets are very clean & newly renovated with cool art work, definitely coming back for mid week cheap eat out!!!

Juana Taco has the best reasonably priced Tex-Mex in Melbourne!
They have a simple menu which really works because the tacos are full on and very filling. I’d recommend getting three. The nachos are huge!!!!! But best of all...the margaritas are insane!
Each marg has a bit of spice in it that brings out some of the more delicate tendencies in the tequila. It is so easy to sip on a hot day.
Did I mention the ambiance and decor?! This is not some posh, fake Mexican establishment. This place is quirky and warmly lit with incredible paintings of Mexican/Aussie culture. The back outside area is really special with cilantro growing on the wall and lanterns dotting the night.
I come here once a fortnight, but I hope to come more!

LOVE JUANA TACO! I have eaten in and taken away several times. I live in St. Kilda and I am over the unauthentic Mexican food the other spots offer. The food is hot and the drinks are cold. The vibe is cool and the price is right. I am so glad I no longer have to pay a TON of money for my Mexican fix- in my beach side town.
I grew up in Texas and I lived in Mexico. Finally somewhere I can hang my sombrero and have a real margarita!
Wow the food is authentic and very well priced the owners are really nice guys. We had the assorted tacos platter, the refried beans/ corn chips and the freshly made Sangria. The staff are super friendly and provide a relaxed and laid back atmosphere. Quick service and love the assortment of hot sauces. Been there a couple of times now and am definitely planning on going back. The only negative is my partner finds the music a little too loud, but I’m sure if you asked they’d turn it down though, otherwise 10/10.

Juana Taco has a great old movies icons like Chucky, the stay-puff marshmallow puff and from dusk till dawn…. The atmosphere is so cool and the vibe and music great.

Hands down my favourite restaurant in Melbourne currently - simple food, easygoing staff.
I have to make this comment - Radio Mexico is good and have been for years (50m away) although a bit busier it feels, La Cabra a little further away (off Acland) feels nice but in comparison to Juana Taco...Juana is just itself, and it makes all the difference. Such good, simple food and a simple, awesome vibe with it.
(PS - found 2 photos from their insta' that sum up my feelings about the place. Mainly the tacos-photo. They have my heart).
The best Birria Quesataco in Melbourne (coming from a Mexican) they should be permanent in the menu. The chicken enchiladas are also a must, the green tomatillo salsa tastes so natural. The selection of tequila is pretty good, no trash available.
