Review The Post Hotel - St Kilda

We celebrated some very belated birthdays at High Road Cantina tonight. The service was friendly and attentive as it was a quiet night. The Feed Me set menu was mostly delicious with only one dish that didn’t impress. We had a really nice evening and left satisfied but not over fed.

The revised menu is terrific, great pizza with crispy base and tasty pasta (try the duck) with welcoming and friendly staff to boot. I'm officially a regular 😄

yum Italian classics done to perfection, some with a twist and familiar pub classics if you're so inclined. good wine list and cosy, dog friendly beer garden with heaters!

This is by far one of the bets pubs in Melbourne. The customer service here is impeccable. Dylan's customer service is excellent. Dylan is very welcoming and genuine. The outdoor area is great and perfect for families and even bringing your dog along. I'd honestly give this place more stars if I could, the staff here are amazing. The food and drinks are excellent too.

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE POST HOTEL, WHICH SADLY SHUT DOWN DUE TO 2020 LOCKDOWNS, NEVER BEEN TO THE PLACES THAT OPENED ON SAME LOCATION AFTER THE POST - THIS REVIEW IS STAYING HERE IN MEMORY OF ST KILDAS MOST BELOVED LOCAL, DESTROYED BY GOVERNMENT'S LOCKDOWNS AMONG MANY OTHER BUSINESSES: Kilda's best local's secret! Absolutely love this place! A perfect mix of all good things, classy, artistic, amazing service, all staff always super friendly and welcoming, great cultural events for community with strong values in supporting culture and artists, super clean, including the restrooms, potentially the best bathrooms in St Kilda, silly I know but important matter lol. Best of all, amazing food! Regularly try different items in the menu and everything always cooked to perfection, super delicious and pretty satisfying portions sizes, all made with the highest quality ingredients including the best meat cuts for all steak lovers out there. Can't have enough of it! Super cool place to hang out with a group of friends, or on a nice date, or on your own, we all get hungry after all and it's way more fun to eat out enjoying great tunes and vibes, than having to cook at home after a long day of work ;)

We are back in St.Kilda on a 5 week holiday after a 3 year Covid enforced break…..and have already visited The Postina half a dozen times. We liked it before but now it has stepped up another gear or two. Friendly, attentive staff and a comfortable ambiance awaits you.Tonight we had food for the first time - a simple pizza and a couple of drinks, but probably the best pizza we have ever had. The base was simply perfect and could have been served without a topping. Not doughy, thin but not too crispy and then a perfectly cooked topping. We will be returning to try out the Mediterranean menu further later this week.

Excited to try this as it is always good to know of good local places. However! I had a very eclectic experience when it comes to the food and drinks. I’ll try to keep it short. We went for the feed me menu as you can tell from the pictures. We are a party of 5 btw. I would not recommend the feed me as it is not true value for money but that aside, not all dishes are even worth visiting whilst others I would pay more for and come back for! The true standouts are the fish tacos and the grilled chicken. If you have a sweet tooth, the parfait is really yummy to. Coconut margarita was surprisingly yummy! Ordered more than one of those! The rest of the food is very middle of the road for me and I couldn’t even finish one bite of the lamb, but then again… I’m not a big fan on lamb. It was to strong in lamb taste. However, what they have done to the place is awesome! Looks new and not to modern with the essentials of the post still there. I’m choosing to focus star rating on the good stuff and giving it a 4, but it is more like a 3-3,5.

A nice little pub for a bite to eat. New chef is specialising in neo-Italian cuisine. If you're looking for a lot of food for a little price, this one is not where you want to go. It's pricey for what you get. I recommend trying the rosemary donuts - something different and a great way to start the meal. Nice atmosphere and good service.
