Best cheap and healthy eats for fish and chips, burgers salads and wraps 👍😋 Friendly, fast and helpful staff who create a good fun, welcoming atmosphere in the hip area of Acland Street, St Kilda. We went with a big family of 2 adults 5 kids after visiting the beach and walking the esplanade and fed everyone for dinner for $15 a head - happy days 😎🙏

On the run I tried this fish and chips restaurant last week. I tried the sesame salmon and chips with a couple of potato cakes and it was delicious. The salmon was especially tasty. The menu is extensive and prices reasonable. Overall the experience was positive.

Super yummy fish and chips in the best location! The fish was excellent although I’m not quite sure why the grilled fish pack was so much more expensive than the battered fish pack, but it was really tasty! The chips could’ve used more salt but they were delicious and crunchy :) Love this lunch spot!

Now where should I start, I’d love to say I enjoyed it but I believe my toilet is enjoying me and my partners meal more then us. If you wish for a accurate food review come to our home and just smell the smells of food poisoning. Doesn’t sound like it’s there first accusation read reviews before you window shop I’d avoid at all costs. 0 star

First time for us, and for sure it won't be the last. The food was yummy and the portion was just right. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The only feedback is that their beetroot salad could have been fresher. Some of the leaves were a little off. Their greek salad was on point though. Will be back to try their other meals.

Absolutely fantastic fish n chips. I don’t even like potato cakes normally but these potato cakes are fantastic. Friendly team puts the icing on the cake. Thanks Tommy tuckers we will be back

Good food portions and wide range of seafood options. Quick and fresh food, avoid the other fish and chip shop on the esplanade, this is definitely the better option for sure.

Ok so I got a 'cheeseburger style burger with extra lettuce'🍔 from here last night.. Really flashy CB, it had onions, pickles, tomato, 1thick beef patty, & dressed in 2kinds of really nice sauce, but not to the point it was soggy, (& I even took it home to eat with 30secs in the microwave), & still it stayed really nice & unsoggy, which is important to me.!!👍 Was also wrapped well in paper inside the box, so u can leave it wrapped as u eat it so it doesn't slide n go everywhere like some burgers if u know what I mean.!!🙄👎 It was def one of the best burgers I've ever had, I would 'DEFINITELY RECOMMEND' trying this place if u LOVE good designer burgers.. And they also do Fish n Chips obviously too, which I haven't tried yet.. But I have to say the burgers are abs premo,👌 def stop in here next time you're up for some yummy, well priced take away people.!! My new 'go to' for burger nights.!😃👍 Thanks very much guys.!💜

The place has an overall positive rating. It looks nice from the outside and looks nice inside too. But that’s as good as it gets.<br/>There weren’t many people waiting to eat, maybe they had lots of Uber orders, but somehow they managed to overcook our very basic dish of Fish n Chips. The fish was completely lacking in flavour and was so over cooked it was almost chewy like rubber (flake fish). The chips were also so overcooked it was just crunchy potato shell with no potato.<br/>And to top it off...all of it lacked flavour. <br/>As for the waiter...he seemed more focused on strutting than doing any real table service.<br/>Gone for a second attempt at dinner down the road...

Ordered the grilled fish pack and some oysters. The fish was very over cooked and dry and the chips were the worst I had ever had. The oysters were great. Won’t be coming back. Gone down the road to get more fish and chips now.

Tommy Tucker's is the perfect place if you're wanting a casual dinner on a hot summers evening or just craving good fish and chips!<br/><br/>I always order the Fish Tacos, they're absolutely a 5/5. The taco's are nice and soft and they put a good size piece of battered fish in each. It's very refreshing with the bits of salad in them too, although I could do with less sauce. The salmon is always cooked well and the salads compliment the fish nicely. <br/><br/>We went there tonight and our food came out really quickly. It's nice to be able to sit outside on Acland St as well. <br/><br/>Keep up the good work!

Lots of fresh seafood to chose from in the front window.<br/><br/>The grilled fish pack is excellent. The salad was crisp, chips were crunchy and the fish was fresh.<br/><br/>The batter used for their fried food was also light and crispy without being too oily.<br/><br/>Reasonably prices and good serving sizes.

Good fish, coleslaw is way over seasoned, main issue is with the plastic cups, it’s 2019 y’all, there’s no excuse for non reusable cups! It’s probably even cheaper for you that way

i emigrated from the UK almost 20 years ago & have never been able to find truly great fish & chips. However we ate at Tommy Tuckers yesterday and i have to say they are the best fish & chips i have tasted here in Oz. The batter was crisp, the fish moist and the chips crunchy on the outside & fluffy on the inside. The service was efficient & friendly - i totally recommend it.    10/10

came here for the first time with my friend who said this place had fantastic burgers, safe to say she was right! burgers are absolutely delicious 😍 i ordered the veggie burger while she got the cheeseburger, i tried both and the patties are cooked so well! my veggie patty wasn’t soggy, rather crunchy on the outside and soft & tasty on the inside. beef burger too was yummy. chips from here are also great, just your average but super nice nonetheless.<br/>would definitely recommend tommy tucker’s to anyone looking for cheap and delicious burgers along st kilda beach :) definite 5 star ✔️

Good quality fast food for a quick lunch break. I love their fish tacos and go to that place at least once a month.<br/><br/>I wish they wouldn’t fluctuate so much in quality as this time the fish on the taco was way too big for my tacos and the fish seemed to be a little undercooked.<br/><br/>All in all reasonably priced and good.<br/><br/>

Burgers could definitely be better flavored. Super dry - salmon was way over cooked, beef patties were dry and felt like they were frozen patties. Came in for a rather early dinner so there was only one other customer, however service was slow. Pricey too, not worth it at all.

Great seafood options and a classic fish and chips. Fair prices compared to other cafes/restaurants in the area. Quick service & friendly staff. Will be back to try the other menu items.

Food disappointing waited more than 45 mins for my breakfast and coffee was cold <br/>The staff were ok but not very helpful I asked a few times where my breakfast was and they came back 10 mins later disappointed <br/>

Sooo goood!! Everything about the meal was great! Portion was generous, chips were perfectly cooked, fish nicely seasoned, salad was fresh and the potato cakes were the best I've ever had!!! Cheap for what you get as a meal!! I wish I lived closer so I can eat here more

One of the best, tastiest and freshest fish and chips I ever had. I had the grill fish pack with some salad and it was filling and TASTY! The salad was seasoned well along with the coleslaw and the potato cakes were also quite memorable 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. It was one of the cheapest places to eat in St Kilda. I would definitely come back again if I had the opportunity 😋. 🥔🐟

We were glad to choose this place for our breakfast to start our day!! This is an incredible fish and chip shop. It is spotless and has a lot of assortment. Truly, when individuals go to a fish and chip shop they anticipate that three things will be great: The fish, the chips, and the burger is great. They do each of the three well. <br/><br/>The chips are crisp tasting, crunchy, and brilliant. <br/><br/>The fish is battered and brunchy. It isn't excessively covered so you don't simply eat 80% hitter. <br/><br/>Neither of the fish or chips appears to be sleek or saturated. <br/><br/>The burgers are substantial, great, and new. They are very much prepared. <br/><br/>What more would you be able to need?

Consistently big servings of fresh seafood and salad, oil looks like it’s changed regularly and salad is never soggy. Could do with more menu options though.

I had an experience this Sunday which I would like to share because of the kindness with which I was treated! I ordered by mistake the fish tacos and after a few minutes I realized it and I came inside again and told the chef about the mistake (which was the same one taking the order) I actually wanted a burrito. I apologized for the mistake and he chef (that had already starting to cook the tacos) gave me the change back and cooked the burrito. An excellent burrito btw!! I’ll defiantly come back! Thank you and again my apologize!

I have decided that this was the best fish and chips I’ve had in living memory. The fish was amazing - I believe it was the snapper fish of the day but not completely certain. I can’t eat fish and chips without crab sticks and those were perfect. The portion sizes are really big. I was not paid for this review but the waitress did throw in a free sauce.

ordered original pack and a dozen of fresh oyster. Nice sauces and ingredients. When we saw the ingredients in the window was thought might not that fresh, however, the food was surprisingly fresh and nice. Recommended.

Well here is one of the good places to have a good, healthy<br/>seafood. I really like their food but their staff are not the best. They have<br/>waitress who doesn’t speak English well which makes it extremely hard to<br/>communicate… Their serving times are poor too, I once went with friends and my<br/>food arrived and I finished then my friend’s food arrived.. I still like their<br/>food though, their stuffed salmon is my favourite.

been here a few times, the fish was very fresh and the prices were reasonable. in saying this the batter of the fish was a bit too thick and after eating fish and chips you just felt really heavy unlike other places i have tried. i think this place can do with some improvements with their batter and how long they fry their chips (too oily) but overall it was a decent start.

Very friendly staff. The seared tuna & charged calamari is really good. The sweet potato chips is also really good. Food arrived surprisingly quickly considering the number people in the queue.

Waited for at least 25 minutes for a potatoe cake!<br/>I was told after questioning where it was “one minute”<br/>The guy continued to dish up other orders and hand them out.<br/>I was then told that orders are prepared in order after they called out “ order 234”<br/>My order number for one potatoe cake was “224”<br/>I counted at least four people that ordered well after me who received their orders well before I got sick of waiting and left - without my potatoe cake <br/><br/>*my friend who did receive his order of fish and chips was still hungry after the small serving of chips with the fish

Small fish of the day (for what the price is) and feels like a fast food more so than a fish and chips. The chips are not crunchy, no flavour. Not a great place at all. Sorry.

Another great fish and chips joint in a superb location. Everything tastes fresh and presented well, brown rice was yummmm! Next time I'll try the burgers

The menu boasts a fantastic selection of seafood and burgers, with 100% Aussie beef patties, cage free eggs, and fish from Australian and NZ waters. All your old favorites are available plus a generous offering of meal packs and burgers - including a veggie option! Plus several beautifully fresh pre-made salads.<br/><br/>We had the Grilled fish pack - with brown rice or chips + salad; and the Tommy Burger with egg AND cheese AND salad AND bacon!<br/>The fish was beautifully grilled with a generous side of brown rice and salad. The burger was pretty fab: flavoursome patty, juicy but not too messy, loads of fresh salad, plus delicious cheese and bacon. The chips were perfectly crispy and not over salted. Definitely recommend this place for families and casual feeds with mates. Plus they home deliver!<br/>

The saltwater pack is a great deal. We ordered 1 pack between 2 of us and added on an extra flake, the portion is more than enough. The fishes are fresh, and it tasted decent. It's great for a quick meal.

Came here quite late in the evening and despite the good reviews it was very disappointing- the fish smelled off and the chips weren't cooked properly. Definitely better options around!

This bar is in St Kilda and I had just finished my run. I have seen this bar a few times before but always thought that it was expensive.That was until I saw the menu on Zomato. Here they had burgers for $7.50-$10.90. Not something that I see in the hipster places places such as Grill'd which charge nearly $12 for a substandard burger (depending on which Grilld). Here they also had sides for $3. Pickled onions were $2.

DO: The Fish and Chips obviously. Fried or grilled, both are pretty good. <br/><br/>DON'T: Forget they also do burgers, but seafood is the stand out star. <br/><br/>TIP: The Tommy Tucker Saltwater pack is great value. In fact, all the packs are reasonably priced.

Popular st Kilda fish and chips shop with lots of fresh seafood to choose from. I love how they show off their seafood in the display to attract attention. Value for money, generous portion and definitely will be back.

Well that was not a plan to eat there but right from the start you enter everything seems to be freshly prepared and tailor cooked, I ordered local caught grilled fish guess itnwas heavenly delicious it took a bit of time to be prepared which I would mind waiting for. Balance seasoning along with various type of salad I chooses betroot which was great combination! Will certainly go back

Love the seafood skewer but not the fish and chips. Fish was bland and chips are below average. Maybe I will come back to taste salad and more seafood skewers.

If you are in hungry in St Kilda this is the place for great fish and chips. The mix seafood is incredibly healthy and delicious. The food comes very quickly but is still very nice.

Went out to St Kilda on a perfect day and the fish, chips and calamari here was perfect to match. Really good authentic food in a lovely spot .

Have been here a few times and has been fine however on Monday I purchased 3 pieces of Rockling and went to cook on Tuesday. When I opened up the bag to begin cooking I was overcome by the stench. I normally by my fish elsewhere and the fish is so fresh there that I am able to cook it up to four days after purchasing, so naturally didn't think anything of having to cook this fish the day after purchasing. The smell was unlike anything else and the fish itself was slimy. Unlike any Rockling I have ever had. Will not be returning under any circumstances, so disappointing.

Before even entering the restraint, the fish is in a display case on ice which rose my expectation hoping I'm going to enjoy some brilliant fresh seafood. The server was friendly and the food was amazing, the only problem I would say is their limited seating.

Fresh looking seafood in the window makes this fish and chip shop more inviting. Good variety of seafood, cooked reasonably well.<br/>I had a piece of grilled salmon and a potato cake. Potato cake needed more salt. Home made sauces are decent but not free.

Beside the staff is very friendly! This store might be the busiest fish and chips in the area on the weekend. Sweet potatoes fry and the flakes is my favourite! Love it!

Great fish and chips, potato cakes and scallops. Always cooked well and not rushed. The staff working there seem a bit serious but at least this flows on to their cooking too as it's always consistent.

Hands down the best seafood I've had in Melbourne! I had the Quinoa salad with Grilled Rockling, cooked to perfection. Also, an extensive range of healthy dishes to choose from. Customer service was spot on! It will be a regular visit from me!

Tasty food, bad customer relations.. This is the second time I've ordered from Tommy Tuckers, both times the fish was cooked well with plenty of flavour & still hot by the time we got home. However our salads were both quite soggy & they forgot the chips (on both occasions) on our first time we didn't bother calling up to see if they were paid for but tonight after getting home and finishing our meals we decided to call up and asked what happened with the order and were rudely informed by the staff member on the other end that we didn't order any & no compromise was made.<br/>Maybe Im expecting to much from staff members that dont seem to care.

Not what it looks like. Had high hopes for a tasty original burger! I ordered a grilled chicken burger and an overpriced school canteen dim sim! The burger wasnt too bad, after I waited 15 minutes I expected a better than an average bite, but oh to my dissapointment, crappy super market bun with cheap chedder cheese. This place is just a fancy looking run of the mill fish and chip shop! Wouldnt be bad, if thats what they sold them selves as.drop the fancy decorations and fake facades, and get back to fish and chips!

Great place!. Went here for the first time tonight. Staff was lovely- even after I was annoying and changed my salad choice because they brought out a new one after I had ordered. Overall me and my partner really enjoyed the meal. I had the Jamaican with salad and rice, and my boyfriend had the seafood skewers with salad and rice. Not normally a person to go crazy over fish but it was overall a really nice refreshing meal. Again, very friendly staff, only little critique was that the coleslaw was a tad bit bland, but it was crisp, which is much more important in my books. We will be back!

Yum!. Tender plentiful tasty salt & pepper calamari. Delicious seafood skewer - prawns, fat scallops, soft fish. Yuuum!

Overfrozen fish, cheap floury potato cakes. Pass. We used to LOVE this place - it always delivered - fresh flaky fish and crisp potato cakes. But dear god, tonight's food was awful. They've obviously changed the potato cakes to some cheap, floury, processed disappointment. And the fish. My grilled snapper was rubbery and that may have been partly because it was undercooked. Undercooked fish at the fish and chip shop! So I pulled out the grill and cooked it some more at home. Less than ideal obviously. And it was after this extra cooking that I realised it was actually overfrozen...floury, starchy, inedible.<br/><br/>Have you changed hands? If you continue selling this cheap inedible trash you'll have ruined what was a bit of an institution in St Kilda. Extremely disappointing.

Oh how I wanted to love you. I really wanted to love this place - decor is great, staff were upbeat and helpful, menu read really well and free local delivery! The prices were up there but the packs seemed to be very good value. They had run out of our first two choices but the place was so busy you couldn't be too upset by that. Unfortunately the food was really quite awful, my flake was thick and bland. My partner had the fish of the day in the tandoori pack and it was dreadful - beige, tasteless fish packed full of bones and a thick hoisin type sauce over everything.<br/>Sorry Tommy Tucker we wont be back

DO NOT GO HERE!. I had high expectations for Tommy Tuckers but it was only moments after walking in here that they were shattered. The old clams fish and chips store that used to be located in this spot delivered quality meals for a cheap price, since Tommy Tuckers overtook the wonderful family owned business prices have risen and quality has plummeted. <br/><br/>The staff were rude and impatient. They then mucked up my order and gave me a chicken burger rather than the cheese burger I had ordered. The chicken was undercooked and the bacon tasted like plastic.<br/><br/>I would not recommend this store to anyone who is looking for a half decent meal.<br/><br/>Ninbinz

I ordered Hello Tommy Pack. This is my first time been this fish and chips Shop! Tonight I try the " Hello Tommy Pack" Everything is good but the scollps is not really fresh. The prize of the food is fair. I will come back next time and try other meal !

I went yesterday with my gf and her family and i can tell that was really nice! I really liked it, cleaned, nice and experienced stuff! This place has nothing to do with the fish and chips i used to go! I had a chargrill calamari, was fresh and juicy, my gf had a stuffed salmon and she really liked it! The chips were AMAZING! The prices were cheap<br/>For the quality and amount of food they serve! Im going back for sure!

Finally a fish and chip shop in St Kilda with great burgers. New management is a welcome relief. Good old fashioned hamburger close to as good as the joint in St Kilda East.

Amazing food - NEW OWNERS. I recently went into Saltwater and there are new owners. They took over in September.<br/><br/>Everything was clean and fresh. The fresh fish display looked great and the salads looked amazing!<br/>The staff were very friendly and recommended that I have the Chargrilled Calamari with chips and salad. Wow. The chips were crispy and not oily and the calamari was great. I would definitely pay top dollar for this in a restaurant!<br/><br/>It wasn't too expensive, the quality is great and the service is exceptional.
