Review Carlisle Pizza - St Kilda

I have ordered BBQ Chicken Pizza a few times and it is amazing. Best pizza in this area. I hope they will never change the chef or the recipe and keep this pizza exactly it is and I will keep coming back forever.

Amazing pizza! Really big sizes and so reasonably priced. Cooked really well and with lots of toppings.

Cheapest, tasteless ingredients that are burnt on a supermarket base. They say they make pizzas in 10 mins. Delivery says 35 but it takes more than 1 hr 20 minutes to deliver the worst "pizza" I've ever tasted. Then when I try to inquire on the phone the staff hang up on me. Do not give this business your money. They must buy their reviews.

You need to try the Manhattan pizza. A simple pizza (tomato base, cheese, salami), it is perfection in its execution. No unnecessary ingredients. The tomato sauce is ever so slightly sweet, but ultimately tangy and perfectly tomato-y. The cheese is salty, stringy and not overpowering. The salami ties everything together - it's a little hot, but the taste is something to behold. It's some extremely good salami, folks. It holds up the next morning too - cold or hot. It's the only pizza I've ever ordered from here (it was the first one I wanted to try). The Aussie is pretty good (my partner switches it up more often) and is great the next day. The New York is fine (I don't care for onion).

Love the food here, 4 corner pizza is great for when you can’t decide what you want. Massively recommend the sweet chilli pizza! Pizza bases taste fresh and aren’t too heavy. Pizza sizes are decent and topping are very generous Calamari rings are nice and crispy and aren’t oily like many other fried calamari rings I’ve bought elsewhere. Cheesy garlic bread is super flavoursome and a decent size portion Friendly fast working staff, never have to wait more than necessary. Pro tip order in store if possible rather than online and you’ll save a buck or two.

Pizza was apparently wrapped up when they cancelled my order.

Update your google opening times. I ordered a pizza on Sunday via the website. They booked it for Monday. I tried to cancel - called 5 times Sunday night trying and twice today - no answer Google says you open at 4 - I called twice at 4:15 and I have the phone logs of all of this. Great pizza but unorganised website and you don’t answer your phone.

Incredible! Every. Time. We've had both the vegetarian and meat and they're both amazing. The staff are super friendly and it's some of the best pizza we've ever had, hands down. If you're vego, try the Santorini (feta, olives, etc.) Or the Paneer - a curry style pizza. Ask for Chilli for a lil spice up if that's your go to. Thanks guys, top notch 🙏🏼👏😍

Best old school type pizza in Melbourne. I love woodfire pizza but sometimes you want the kind of pizza you had when you were a kid....seriously can't get over how good the pizza is from this place - and it is also always consistent in cheese distribution and crispiness of base. Nice work

Accidently ordered and couldnt cancel. NO REGRETS . Best 'non woodfired' pizza in the area. Had the Margharita and it was sooo scrumptious, like a piece from New york. The bbq chicken was legit, THIS IS A REAL BBQ CHICKEN, unlike bubba pizzas bbq chicken. It was saucy and amazing. Will def be my go to from now.

Had a Margherita pizza from here the other night with added garlic. It was pretty good, a little oily on the top but that's to be expected with melted cheese. They probably added way too much garlic also but ah well. Was still tasty. Not the best around but not horrible either.

Carlisle pizza is a local pizza place in Carlisle Street. There's no much ambiance as it's a street shop and it's definitely not a place to sit and eat.
But you can choose for takeaway and if you are running low on budget, it's the place to go. They serve filling quantities and surprise our tongue with pizza cravings. Take the pizza back home and have it with beer and enjoy a good movie along with it.

Have ordered from here many times good pizza's and very fast delivery and also well priced as we usually order the 2 pizzas for $30 delivered have also got lasagne from here and that was pretty nice too!!

I really enjoyed my pizza - I had the vegetarian 😊 it's good value for money and was fresh and tasty ! The only negative is the
Location of the store for pick up

If you want a local that's constantly producing a decent feed then grab a pizza here.
They're certainly not the gourmet wood fired style that punters write home about, but if u just want the standard local pizza joint this place goes well. All the usuals on the menu, friendly service, priced to match. It's pretty much take away/delivery only, one small table in the wait area which I wouldn't suggest for date night.
If your after a late night feed, it's the night you can't be bothered cooking or you're suffering a dreaded hang over then this should hit the spot.

Updated for Jan 2020 --

gave this place so many extra chances after it changed owners back in 2017. Initially, the new owners did about 90% as well as the old ones.... and the pizzas were still above average. But now it's gotten a lot worse. Pizzas arrive warm, drinks aren't as cold as they should be and communicating with them on the phone is impossible.

It's actually such a pity... Ive spend craploads over the years at Carlisle... And the business and goodwill that the old Italian owners worked so hard to build is now completely finished. What's left is a place marginally better than dominoes or frozen pizza. Better to check out another pizza place.

Best pizza I've had in a long time. Such a great way to spend a lazy Thursday night! I had the House Pizza and it was a winner. Super tasty without being overly salty!

Carlisle pizza has come to the rescue on many a night after a hard day in the office with speedy delivery, great prices, and their hot pizzas with generouas tasty toppings. The Carlisle and the House are our go to-s. My husband has been living in the area for the years before we moved in together, is a loyal customer, and even gets a Chrissy card from them every year which is a nice touch!!

We went with this place because of the reviews and I have to say we were extremely disappointed. These pizzas are not thin crust and were so greasy that there was oil seeping through the bottom of the box. They had a good amount of toppings on them but the meat was poor quality. I would say they are more like your regular "take away" pizza rather than the thin crust real Italian type. The order time to delivery was really quick which was a plus but the search for a good pizza place in St Kilda continues..

Great Home Delivered Pizza. Wasn't sure whether a home delivered pizza should review but here it is anyhow.

Over the last 10-12 months we have become converts to Carlisle Pizza.
They arrive very quickly and are hot and tasty.
We used to get pizza delivered from St Kilda Bakehouse and La Roche previously but I'm afraid they have really dropped the ball.
So guys stay consistent with good bases and flavoursome pizzas and I'll keep ordering your HotnSpicy!

Slice of turd. This has to be up there with the worst pizza that i have ever ordered. they could not have made a worse pizza if they tried.
the pizza base tasted like cardboard, the tomato sauce was terrible and the topping tasted awful. Only the chili on the pizza was any good.
We had ordered two pizzas and they were both of the same standard. this was the first and last time we will ever order from this so called pizzeria.

Honestly Quite Good. I'm going to start this review with a little honesty. I've lived in St Kilda area for years, and for years I've avoided even thinking about ordering from here. Walking past the shop it does give the greatest first impression, but do not be fooled!!!

The pizza is responsibly priced, very tasty, not overly greasy or oily, and tasty! I've never had to wait long for a delivery, and it beats the hell out of 95% of pizza places in the area.

Take my advice, try this place, if only the once. Do not walk past it! Give them a call. They make the best beer 'n' pizza, pizza, for a guys/girls night in.

Great Pizza. Carlisle Pizza was excellent not greasy and more along the lines of thin base pizza. They have plenty of topping though with heaps of fresh ingredients. The base and topping were real well made I would highly recommend.
