Review Bistro Voliere - St Kilda

Cute French bar in St Kilda perfect for a date night! The interiors were gorgeous and $55 for the 2 courses felt like such good value. Food was impeccable! Have been back twice since. We love it!!

Very French when I walked in. Great service, the Waiters were very attentive and loved their French accent. I got the scallops with Avocado for entre' and the Roasted duck for my main, both yummy well presented 😋 and good price. The venue was full with an amazing vibe, which is great to see after Melbourne has been through the longest lockdown so with all that people and all the talking going on around us it was a little hard to hear what my friends were talking.

Had lunch there on a Friday and the meals were very yummy. The duck was really good, so was the lemon tart 😋

Decent place with good food! Tartare and confit duck were great. Crème brûlée was yum!

Duck confit just like in Paris! Not being able to travel to France and know I can get a fabulous French feed in St Kilda has made me so happy. The cheeses are so delicious, the butter is french and so is the bread, this is the only place to get the real French bread! I regularly got cheese platters and take away during lockdown too.

Very romantic and cosy restaurant. The cheese and salami platter was very good value and amazing quality. The chicken liver pâté was a bit sweet and lacking flavour, I would not order again. Both mains were very good, I had the steak tartare and my partner got the eye fillet. Good size and very tasty. The value for money is also very good. I’ll be coming back.

The food, decor, service and drinks were fantastic. My wife and I went here for our anniversary and the service was lovely and the food and drinks were phenomenal. Highly recommended. Just a heads up, kitchen closes at 3pm on a Sunday even though theyre open until 5:45. Well worth the visit!

Steak tartare and service was impeccable. Use to live with sommelier and michelin star chef and this tartare is same quality and one he use to cook. Cannot fault.

Awesome food and value for money with lunch special - entree and main for $20. Really chilled and relaxed with a French deco vibe. Service was friendly and attentive. Quality bread and butter was perfect accompaniment. Will definitely revisit next time for dinner.

I love Bistro Voliere!!! It was recommended to me by a friend when I was looking for a venue for a surprise engagement party for my fiancée, and the Bistro management took such great care of us, making it so incredibly special. Everything was perfect: the staff were so courteous, the food was amazing (I had the gnocchi as I'm a veggie, but I hear the steak was exquisite); the wine list was perfect and reasonably priced, the cheese platters were great for snacking on. Overall, we loved our experience and would highly recommend Bistro for an intimate dinner or a party for 20-30 people :)

This is a great laid back French restaurant in a great location on Fitzroy Street. We really loved the look of the restaurant with its beautiful old style high ceilings. The food was amazing, even the bread and butter on the side was great. There’s a good wine selection too.

I'm in two minds about this review as this is my new favourite place in the neighbourhood and I want to keep it secret!

Great food whether it's a Sunday afternoon snack or a dinner - the menu is small but perfect. Great selection of drinks too.

Fantastic team and service, everything appears easy, relaxed and effortless. We recently hosted our wedding anniversary here with 15 friends and it was a fantastic night, thanks to Nicholas, Philip and the team!

Great place to hear French voices, sip on French wine and enjoy delicious French food.

Lovely Parisian tables on Fitzroy St or sharing tables overlooking the street - both great spots.

We were strolling along Fitzroy street trying to work out where we could relax and have a couple of bevies. I had heard from friends about Bistro Voliere, so we decided to try it out.
It was absolutely fantastic.
We sat by the massive open window on Fitzroy Street overlooking everyone who walked by, as we sipped our champagne.
The champagne was first rate- from Reims.
We were so settled we ended up ordering a charcuterie board and chips.
OMG - for $50 it was AMAZING. We couldn’t even finish it.
I always rate a French cafe by its bread, the butter, the atmosphere and their champagne offering.
I commented on the bread, and apparently it is flown in from France!!?! The butter is that butter that you steal from Parisian restaurants (well I use to- I was young and carefree and a butter connoisseur). The onion jam on the board- holy polooza?! I would buy it jarred if I could.

The chips were perfect- a lovely crunch.

The atmosphere is spot on. It really feels like a French Bistro. Mosaic tiles and high ceilings and the most magnificent window on Fitzroy Street- if you are fortunate enough to nab it.
We will most definitely be back.
Delectable menu with a classy yet relaxed atmosphere. Outstanding service by French staff. I keep coming back and I have never been disappointed.
