Review Kake Da Dhaba - St Kilda

Saman Nadeem
Amazingly delicious food and the masala chai is their USP, you can’t miss it if you are around Acland Street/ Barkly Street!!! From samosa to biryani, every bite is worth the $$$ spent!!! Their food is very tasty as well as reasonably priced, not to forget the hearty welcome you get here, love swinging by here whenever I pass this street :)

The experience (take-away) was not great or good or ok by any measure. The dishes had more of oil than content. How on earth does this happen in Melbourne? The dishes did not feel an ounce authentic or cooked correct. It felt more like a frozen ready-to-eat meal being bought I am surprised this can happen in Melbourne.

Delicious indian food at a pretty reasonable price. Portions are great. Take note that its a small place so seats are limited. Best if you wish to takeout.

Have ordered takeaway from this place few times now. The food is simple yet very delicious!!! They also offer wide variety of veg options.

Very delicious food in the reasonable price. Apart from that it's also nearby the st. Kilda beach so we can also pack food and eat at beach. Prime location with good food. Also it has very good Indian taste. Totally worth. Staff is also good and supportive. Had great food.

Cheap and lot. I love the curry here. I was very hungry and waiting for a bus, I ordered a curry+rice meal and they serve me in 5 mins. Tasty chicken and curry paste with authentic rice. Beautiful! Will come again and suggest my friends to come too. (Was too hungry and quickly finished this lol)
Juhi Sachdev
Rude and unhelpful staff. Advertise false prices and dishes. Charged me $30 for an order via Eazi and didn’t even accept or complete the order cause they’re apparently not doing those orders anymore. Owners don’t seem to care if customers have any complaints.

Just waste of money simply. Oil + same gravy a+ hardly any meat

We simply love this place. It's our place to order from for comfort food. And very honestly, this place serves very basic and simple Indian food that isn't traditionally authentic (even of the name suggests so), but assured tasty compared to so called Indian restaurants thar serve crap.

Every time they have respected our request to use less oil, and make our food more hot.

Their meal for two is a deal and we usually go for that.

The overall experience was okay. We ordered a Lamb Bhuna, and it was made with tin tomatoes, you could taste the crappy sweetness of tin tomatoes. We also ordered the Goa fish curry, that was okay. The starter was Malai Tandoori and it was flavourless. Lacking of salt too. I have had better Indian.

I ordered the butter chicken and initially I thought I had been served the tomato sauce found in tinned baked beans. In the end, I unfortunately couldn’t finish the dish due to the overwhelming sweetness of the sauce. I could not recommend this restaurant.

Delicious food. Ordered Chana masala ..it was a delightful meal with naan .. perfect balance of spices.. loved it ..Also the prices are low as compared to other Indian restaurants.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. The butter chicken we ordered was so sweet that it felt like we were eating a dessert. We couldn't even finish one fourth of our food.

Absolutely pathetic butter chicken. We craved Indian food after long and we got sweet chicken instead. So sugary and no salt/ spice. Would not recommend anyone to order from here.

Ordered Biryani, Jeera Rice and other items through UberEats. Never ate such bad tasting food so far. Please taste food you plan to serve. Biryani is all tangy and Jeera rice needs improvement. UberEats lists this place as south Indian and don't see any signs in food.
