Review Dave's Chinese - St Kilda

I got delivery from these guys and the food arrived early hot and taste amazing. would recommend.

Been to this place yesterday. Ordered for an egg fried rice and some crackers. Taste: Egg fried rice is not so great but the quantity given was good. Apart from rice, some scrambled egg, and chilli oil, the dish does not have anything special. The rice was lacking flavour and to be honest I would not try that dish again. However, other dishes at the restaurant might be good. Price: The price charged was worth the quantity given. Hospitality: The management and the receptionist were very nice. While I was having food at the restaurant, I experienced a random act of kindness. A stranger popped into the restaurant and asked for a mask at the reception. That person informed that he was about to take an Uber, but did not have a mask with him. The restaurant owner gave a mask for free. I felt that was it so kind of the owner.

This is a takeaway egg fried rice. For me it is huge shame to call this dish egg fried rice in Chinese dish!

UK style Chinese is quite different to Aussie style Chinese, a lot more deep fried stuff. The food is pretty good though. Combination Chow Mein is what I like best. The only gripe I have with this place is the lack of veggies in the dishes.

Price to satisfaction ratio is a little high. The 'spice bag' that came with chicken balls and chips was priced at 17 dollars but honestly speaking it should not be priced more than say 10 or 11 dollars. No complaints about the taste though nor the taste level or the hot garlic chicken - reminiscent of UKs Chinese takeaways. The egg fried rice though was a let down, dry and not so eggy. A mixed bag alright.

Quite disappointed after hearing a lot of good praise about this place. Delivery driver took over an hour to get to us. Spice bag and spicy chips were not bad in fairness but the curry sauce was bland and tasteless while the side of fried rice was tiny. Wouldn't order again

The closest Chinese restaurant I could find in St Kilda & my vegetarian chow mien was all good! Told the special fried rice was too but it could've done with more sauce. The cost was cheaper than another restaurant I looked to buy dinner at down the road,all in all I'd consider going there again!

Terrible. My vegetable fried rice tasted like nothing. I asked for extra vegetables as there was no option to add them online, was told that was fine, and then it arrived with a VERY small smattering of what looks like frozen peas, corn and carrots. When I called AGAIN, I was told they would provide the vegetables at an additional cost and delivery fee. Avoid this place.

This place is crappolla, low quality meat is used in most of their dishes and it’s overpriced for what you get. Would avoid.

We had just been out the knight playing pool. We where quiet hungry, not much was open, we walked past this Chinese a few times. To be honest I was a little let down with the veggie noodles because it was the most expensive but it was almost all noodles and not that much veggies.<br/><br/>The entree omelette was amazing. Ful of flavour and a good size for the price!

So. Bad photos. AMAZING food. I honestly can’t get enough of Chinese food and to be honest, I definitely prefer Aussie/UK Chinese rather than chicken feet and random stuff you don’t know what it actually is. <br/><br/>We have had our fair share of Chinese, and I love! That they have breast fillets in their chicken dishes. If you’ve ever gone to a Chinese restaurant and ordered honey chicken, then got 10% chicken and 90% batter you won’t get that here. <br/><br/>We got 99% chicken, the best chicken around. With sauces that weren’t full of food coloring and nastiness. <br/><br/>The honey chicken and sweet and sour chicken were the best we’ve had. I even had to reduce scores of other Chinese restaurants recently as this was so good. <br/><br/>Chicken fried rice was epic. So yum and full of vegetables and chicken. <br/><br/>Spring rolls- yeah we got chicken again. Soooooo goooood!!!! <br/><br/>We live in south yarra and always thought it was too far to get delivery but our guy was here in 9 minutes. <br/><br/>Dave. You have made the best Chinese I’ve ever had.

We ordered some of Daves Chinese dumplings via uber eats one afternoon for a snack! They were decent price, especially for size and amount. I've only given it a 3.5/5 as I've only tried the dumplings and don't yet consider it a fair review but will update it when I've tried a main!

We ordered delivery and it was all really tasty! I'm glad that we have a good local place for Chinese cuisine. I will order from here again 👍🏼
