We absolutely loved our dinner. The food was so yummy and so much flavour. The gyoza dipping sauce was seriously delicious. Thought I had over-ordered but we smashed the lot! Highly recommend!!!
Great fresh food for a good price. The entry point is low if you just want a snack on the fly.
Amazing!! I got this as an ubereats order today. Loved everything. Even with the bumped up ubereats prices, it's still amazing value. The sushi burgers were fresh and delicious, the gyoza was warm and yummy, the cheesecake was incredible. This is my new favourite Japanese place!!! I can't wait to eat in!!! I'll be taking friends and family here for sure. Thanks guys.

Looking up Zomato for new places around work to grab some early lunch (well, technically brunch since I skipped breakfast that morning), this one suited my purpose perfectly with an opening time of 11am.
Taking over the spot once occupied by Mammy’s Boy, the venue has undergone a minor revamp and it is cheerful and bright.
Unfamiliar with their menu, the friendly young man behind the counter navigated me through it and the majority of items are no more than $6.80 with the exception of the Build Your Own Bento Box at $14.80.
The bento comes with default seaweed salad, spring rolls and endamame, plus an item each from the Gyoza and Don section where I picked the Pork Gyozas and Curry Chicken Katsu Don, adding on a side of Squid Salad.
Reluctantly having to share my gyozas with my curious, beady-eyed, hovering colleagues, we ended up agreeing that they were pretty good! The Squid Salad on the other hand could’ve done away with less dressing as it overwhelmed the squid.
The chicken in the Curry Katsu Don was cooked perfectly, but a little more of that curry sauce with a thicker consistency in there and they would’ve nailed it.
Impressed with the gyozas, one of my colleagues requested to tag along next time and he ordered the prawn ones which were just as good. Our Chicken Karaage was crispy and succulent, but the Takoyaki can use a bit more work on the texture.
Recognising me from my initial visit, the staff were lovely enough to throw in a free Squid Salad! Thanks guys! As an extra bonus, I got treated to an original flavoured Japanese cheesecake by my colleague. Happy days!
To be frank, there are items that can do with a bit of tweaking, but they’re still trialling the menu and at such reasonable prices, there are certainly no major complaints.
My sneaky colleague has since made a return without me! I know right, how dare he! Anyway come to think of it, it’s about time I made another visit too.
We tried Gyoza King, which has opened it's outlet in St Kilda 3 weeks ago, after Jojo Armani mentioned it to us.
They are currently experimenting with the menu until they zero down on 1 based on the feedbacks they recieve.
Chose to go with 2 BentoBoxes that comprised of a portion of mains of your choice - Chicken Katsu Curry, 5pcs of Gyoza of your choice - Fried Chicken Gyoza for 1 and Prawns for another, 2 veg spring rolls, seaweed stirfry and Edamame. Also ordered Takoyaki and Eel and Rice.
Chicken was fried until crisp and the katsu curry was light and flavorful. Fried Chicken / Prawn Gyoza were perfectly crispy until the last bite. Sea weed stirfry was sweet, sour and spicy. Veg spring rolls were super moist and crispy and drizzled with yummy sauce. Edamame were cooked to perfection.
Loved the Octopus Takoyaki which were tender and mushy.
The Eel with rice was yummy but could have done with little more of robust sauce.
In fact, they should serve more of the sauce / curry in their rice bowls....its quite less for the portion they serve.
Thanks for the complimentary Sushis. They were Yummy too.
Bento Box was a lot of food for 1 person, and decent deal priced at $14.50 AUD.
Decent choices for Vegetarians.
Service is quick and very friendly.
Yummm!!! Such a great takeaway joint with quality and delicious food. The gyoza was so juicy. For all who don’t know what a gyoza is, is Japanese Dumplings but healthier!! Defiantly a place come to try
Good addition to the local area, great little dishes to try out. The portions not big so you can order multiple items each time. very comfortable clean bright seatings too.
This place is one among our many comfort-food destination in St Kilda.
The quality, taste and portions have always been consistently good.
Their meals are quite economical and filling...And their staff is very warm and friendly
Highly recommended
Gyoza King, the best Japanese Street Food! Five-stars combination of menu items. Customised options to BUILD YOUR OWN COMBO, choose from various options to explore your unique word!
Ordered delivery via Menulog from about 6kms away, more details in the picture. Food arrived bit cold.
Loved: chicken burger, chicken katsu curry mini (though could use a little bit more gravy), truffle chips, chicken karaage gyoza, original cheesecake (it's a baked one) & the sustainable containers and utensils.
OK: prawn gyoza, potato croquettes, pork gyoza
No: vegetable gyoza
Best Gyoza place in Melbourne. Small portion & well priced, good to try everything! Highly recommend!
Although it's definitely not authentically Japanese food, I still enjoyed coming here to dine. I came on a Friday at about midday for lunch. I was surprised to see I was the only customer in the restaurant, so that meant exceptional customer service and short waiting times. I ordered the combo which included two little sliders (I ordered chicken and pork), edamame and chips. Although I liked the beans and the chips, I wasn't so sure about the meat. I wasn't a big fan of the pork, and the chicken was alright. Also, this restaurant has a great view of Luna Park and the rollercoasters haha! Thanks for the food and the experience :)
Got the combo which was mostly good but the crab sushi I had was basically all rice, i had to break open the entire thing to see if they gave me an empty rice triangle - It almost was. The rice also doesn't have that sushi rice flavor to it. The gyoza and seaweed salad however were good. Always good service. I rarely eat take away, but as far as take away goes, it's decent. I'd avoid the sushi from now on though.
Was not expecting much, but they blew me away. Great value for money, and all their takeaway stuff was made from recycled things, and could be recycled or composted (maybs not the sushi wrapper)!! Food was delightful too 😁
Finally tried this place after months walking past it. I’m so glad I finally came here. The lunch was amazing. I will be coming back
