The best food in Balaclava! The veggie burger is amazing, really THAT GOOD. The service is great and the coffee delicious. The potato rosti is a must try at breakfast
Amazings deserts, highly recommended. There is free wifi so bring your laptop for cafe focus. It is also opened for dinner with polish cousine
I come to Truffles a fair bit for lunch and I've never been disappointed! Their food is always delicious and well presented! I love their coffee as well, it is always great! Sometimes the service can be a little bit slow but the waiters and waitresses are always lovely and accommodating. Their cakes are also to die for! The last few birthdays we have ordered a cake from here and it has been exceptional!
Came here for lunch and ordered off the all day breakfast menu. The menu was pretty standard as far as breakfast but the polish specialities was a great point of difference. I ended up ordering scrambled eggs and bacon on toast with a piccolo latte. The coffee was perfect temperature and nice and strong. The eggs creamy and bacon crispy. Very delicious! The waitress was very friendly and approachable. The decor was a bit confused but I didn't mind. Will be back to try the pierogies!
This cafe was recommended to me by a friend who swears by the coffee and i was pleasantly surprised. I now always stop in before work and at lunch time for coffee and a bite to eat. The smashed avocado is delicious and I can not resist the danishes (never had a bad one at Truffles). My husband likes the european food on offer and we often take the time to go and eat Sunday lunch. We highly recommend the tasting platter and tripe soup .
Bon appetite
Pastries look great, the taste live up to that too. Coffee and hot chocolate was delicious. People that work here have great customer service. We will be back.
Went to Melb for a week and truffles Patisserie is one of the best cafe I have ever been to. The cake displays looked amazing so my friends and I have decided to go there for brunch. I ordered the spicy eggs and my friend ordered the eggs benedict with salmon and both dishes were very delicious! We also ordered desserts and i'd say this place makes the best cheesecakes! Also, their waitresses were super friendly and the service was really fast! Would definitely come back next time I visit Melbourne.
Truffles on the corner of Carlisle St and the far end of Chapel St is fantastic. A big space full of light and amazing food! The Polish cheesecake is to die for. I could eat it every day! I actually did for a while. Too addictive! And the traditional soups are super special. The owner/chef is consistently positive and runs a smooth operation - his staff are happy! Adding to the great vibe! Carlisle St needed something like this! Enjoy:))
Great service all round, friendly ladies especially one with an accent and light brown hair and the gentlemen with an accent. Interior has a lively upbeat vibe with polish music playing. Offers a range of sweets including chocolates and decent coffee. Great for solo diners & large groups.
The polish ox tripe soup is to die for!!
Ok, it won't be long before this cafe gets the "Best Pie in Melbourne" award. I've been wanting to try this little Polish Cafe for a while as I often pass whilst out walking. The cakes in the window look delicious and almost beg you to eat them. Took my mum there yesterday for a quick lunch and we were not disappointed. Friendly service and super speedy meal but the highlight was an OMG beef pie. Forget the typical gelatinous mince, this pie was full of tender slow cook beef chunks and the nicest pastry I've ever had, it was simply delicious. I'm so happy I've found a new little place where I don't have to queue up behind the bearded hipsters just to have nice meal. Well done Truffles, I'll be back.
Really enjoy coming here to truffles, great food and variety. Love the soft shell crab burger and vanilla slice. I often pop in for breakfast on my way to work.
Came for a coffee and couldn't resist ordering one of their cakes. A good serving of cake which was perfect with a nicely made coffee. Not the last time I order cake!
Pleasant open venue. I came for the tripe soup which was excellent. The tripe perfectly cooked, the soup tasty, not over seasaned and a couple of thick slices of lightly toasted bread. ($12) Also tried the Chef's platter - a bit of everything. This was very average. Everything was OK but nothing stood out Borscht OK, Herring salad OK, Pirogi two each of Sauerkraut and mushroom, pork and beef, creamy potato and cottage cheese of which only the potato had any appeal, sauerkraut salad OK and bread and butter ($22)
Went for lunch with family. Delicious food, especially Polish pierogi. Their bigos made of Sauerkraut ( fermented cabbage ) was very tasty. It's menu is a bit different, which makes it for a unique experience of tasting eastern eurpean food. Pleasant service and good coffee certainly added to a very lovely lunch. Did not have any room for their yummy looking cakes, so will have to come back again to try.

Their polish dumplings and cheesecake varieties are absolutely delectable. Modern interior and roomy!
Cheers!
Always dreaded going out with our toddler but this place has heaps of space for everyone... had no problems bringing in the pram. Suitable for mothers group and parents with kids. I haven't even mentioned the delectable cakes, awesome coffee... and it doesn't stop there, yes, they serve decent tasty meals! I braved & tried the traditional Polish ox tripe soup - my tummy went yipeee! :) My go-to for yummy cake fix - my favourites are poppy seed cheesecake, chocolate dome, and Polish doughnuts (simply the best in town!). Truffles Patisserie just raises the bar everytime - Never disappoints. No wonder I stalk their instagram photos... keeps me excited to keep coming back.
Convenience is the number one quality of this cafe- eat in, take your time or take away. From mouth watering cakes, biscuits, slices and donuts to hearty, healthy and delicious meals and salads!.. Modern comfortable and clean decor. Staff are lovely and efficient. For me the best thing on the menu are the Polish Pirogies; dumplings with different meat fillings, the dough is cooked al dente and the fillings are cooked to melt in the mouth! This is the most soulful Eastern European dish cooked very authentically!
Awesome coffee and amazing food great size meals and handmade chocolate truffles 😋 divine. Look forward to coming here with the whole family to trial all the Polish food! Pram friendly finally a cafe which doesn't mind a double buggy!
I went in for a coffee and a cake, I was very impressed. Large variety and delicious! Also great coffee! I will definitely be back for a Polish Plum Jam donut :)
Enjoyed my time here! The vibe in general was really pleasant, not too loud and crowded but still busy. The coffee was very nice, as was the man serving us, but the food was the real standout. Me and my partner shared 10 Pierogi - polish dumplings which I had never had before and they were seriously tasty and filling. We also had a quinoa salad which turned out to be deilcioous, and i was sceptical about this before hand because it is vegan!! Anyway, the experience overall was thoroughly enjoyable and I will most certainly be returning.
Wow what an amazing feast. I just love the Soft Shell Crab burger and the home made Plum doughnut. The service was very good and the tables are well spaced. Highly recommend 😀
Visited here last weekend, came for just a coffee but being around lunch time, I saw a pulled pork bruschetta on the specials board and was very curious (and hungry). Firstly, the pricing is really reasonable, I paid just under $15 for a seriously large serving of food. Secondly, the food was really nice, pulled pork was well seasoned, and had a nice flavour. A lot of places seem to stuff this up but I was very happy with how mine turned out. The coffee was also really nice, I go around this area a lot and this would have to be one of the more enjoyable coffees. The man who served us was polite and friendly, and ensured that I was taken care of at all times. I will definately be returning, the cake selection looked incredible and after the last experience I'm sure they will deliver in that regard aswell.
A couple of days ago I ordered via Suppertime. The perogis were absolutely delicious and my partner shared a slice of cheesecake yummmmm. I am yet to visit the cafe but will certainly make an effort now based off the quality of food. Thank you.
I love that this cafe has Polish plum jam donuts and milk alternatives like coconut and almond milk. Not a fan of the messy dusting of chocolate, it dampened the coffee experience. However, my coconut milk mocha was delicious, I finished it too soon. I'd like to come back some day to try the various cakes.
Nice cake collection, however quiet a small lunch range on the menu. The gnocchi I got wasn't that filling, and I didn't feel like a burger so not much choice. Staff looked like they couldn't be bothered and didn't seem approachable. Food did taste good however.
Went with my mothers group for a coffee. (Good for buggies). The guys working there were friendly and helpful. Cake was AMAZING and they had a huge variety of choice. Look forward to my next visit.
One of the things I like about this place is that the tables are not crammed so close together that you are practically sitting on someone else! I had the big breakfast (minus meat) which was very nice. The coffee was good and the service attentive.
Great location. Good spot for tasty lunch or coffee and cake.
I went sweet, but there seemed plenty tasty options.
Seating inside or outside.
Wide pastry selection.
What a nice place! Very welcoming and cozy. Everything was so delicious, especially polish tatar! Thank you so much Jarek for recommending me “flaki” it tastes like polish home.

Awesome little cafe in the central location, lots of dishes to choose from including sweets, staff is attentive, thanks will be back !
Wonderful little find on my most recent trip to Melbourne. Lovely selection of cakes, FRESH croissant!!! And excellent coffee. Staff are lovely and clientelle charming and friendly.
Nice place to start your wanderings down Chapel Street or the perfect spot to pop in for cakes before heading off to picnic with friends in St Kilda parks.
We had lovely Lithuanian beef dumplings in a clear broth.
This is a really cute cafe, the Polish items on the menu make it really stand out! I've had the pierogi several times and they are always amazing! Also good sweet potato fries, drinks, and cakes - they're just all-round good! ☺️
