Another day in Acland Street - another cake shop. They are all good here. But I do like this one because....the staff are so nice.
There are some delicious treats here and on a day like today, despite being winter, it was nice enough to eat outdoors at the tables. But you can eat inside as well.
Coffee is good, donuts were great. Take something home for dessert - plenty to choose from. Grabbed a vanilla slice, custard tart and a brownie for the family.
Shop has a step for those in a wheelchair. Kid friendly. Parking in St Kilda can be challenging and a little expensive at $5.40 per hour. And the inspectors are vigilant.
My favourite of the Acland Street Cake shops. Friendly owners, and a delicious range of cakes. Like all the bakeries on Acland Street, it's a little overpriced for what you get, but cakes are tasty and well made.
Coffee cannoli and coffee - double hit , sucker for coffee 🍭😍 , spacious cafe and friendly staff . Cute and a huge range of traditional and modern cakes and sweets to choose from.
Second #tiramisu i had in town. Frankly speaking, I am disappointed with the flavour. The coffee flavour is not strong, I cannot taste anything else but sweetness. .But with such a decent size I
have to admit the price is fairly reasonable.
DO: The Vanilla Slice or the Vanilla Slice or the Vanilla Slice.
DON'T: Do anything else but the Vanilla Slice. Ok, you may try a few other great options but that Vanilla Slice seriously takes the cake (pun intended).
TIP: There are 4 cake shops on Acland. Purchase one here and move on. Cake Degaustation is bad said no one ever.
Ok sweet time, too many choice on Acland St but I've heard these guys are very traditional so we ended up with the log & the eclair.
Love it very traditional and tasty.
Dee will be back.
Amazing cakes, and very friendly staff :) we had a vanilla slice and a vanilla bougatsa and both were very very nice. We will definitely be back!

In one word: Breeze-block.
This is my third installment from Acland Street, with only Europa to sample next time. Le Bon claim to have the best vanilla slice in the state...a bold statement. I admire their range; with traditional, chocolate, raspberry, strawberry and coffee options too. I chose the traditional vanilla as I thought it looked most custardy compared to the other creamier-looking options. Their slices are HUGE, like breeze-blocks crumbling with flaky pastry and oozing with sweet creamy goodness. Unfortunately, no custard filling - just cream. The whole thing was an enjoyable, messy experience to consume and left me feeling pretty stuffed. The pastry was the real hero of the slice; light, beautifully baked and as flaky as they come. As for the rest, it was really just a heavy dose of lightly whipped cream and icing sugar. Good, but definitely not the best in state.
Every cake under the sun! I real favorite in St Kilda. Nothing better than enjoying a coffee and cake outside. A little expensive than a normal bakery but only by a few dollars.
Pleasure. Have always enjoyed the cakes here. Over the years during our time there we always visit the legendary shop. Have sampled almost all the goodies. Our favourite would be anything to do with strawberry. Even the baclava is nice and crunchy. We always take cakes home as well. The service always attentive. The constant flow of people coming in out interesting. Recommend it mostly at weekends as cakes are fresher and more of a variety. Great family treat
A must. While on holiday in Melbourne we visited Le Bon as we liked the appearance of the window. We tried the pies and sausage rolls which we found tasty and the best out of what we had tried . We ate the whole lot. Then we tried the chocolate pastas, almond tarts and vanilla slice. rich in flavour and quite satisfactory. The coffees and drinks were nice as well. The service pleasant and friendly. Prices were average. The whole atmosphere was enjoyable and would definitely go again. We also appreciated the complimentary biscuits with the coffee. recommend it to anyone who is looking for an enjoyable afternoon in st kilda. oh and Leon, one of the owners. u were very hospitable and welcoming. Thanks for the treat
Heaven. Loved the look of the window there was so much to choose from. Ordered spinach pie and sausage roll for a start. Very nice!! Heaps better than the frozen crap I usually eat. Didn't leave a crumb. Then we had a creamy coffee and hot chocolate and shared a chocolate sponge. It was rich and full of flavour. Fresh and enjoyable. Really wanted to try the vanilla slice but we were really full. The place attracts an interesting crowd. The owner was a doll!! she amused us throughour the evening of places to dine and of her foreign experiences abroad. Thanks Mary!! U really made our night and my gf a bit insecure. I will be coming back for more more more!! Great service- delicious food- atmosphere nice.
BEST VANILLA SLIDES EVER. Every sweet I've tried from here has been amazing. Coffee and service is alright too. Best vanilla slice ever!
A Unexpectedly Wonderful Experience. We Were on holiday in Mebourne for a month and were walking down Acland Street when Le Bon caught our eye.
We were suggested we eat the pie, my husband had the sausage roll and our friend had a cheese pie.
They were really tasty. The coffee and the tea were very good. We also tasted the strawberry tart and the rum baba.
It was a little expensive but so was everything else in Melbourne.
The staff was polite and friendly and we found a lot in common like good food and Greece.
Lovely!!!!. Had the sausage roll and mygirlfrien the meat pie. it was nice and filling.
we then treated ourselves to the vanilla slice and chocolate rum cake yum yum is all i can say. didn't really like the new look of the place. the old one was beter. felt like we were in france but a much cheaper version. the blue eyed blond made up for it though. so that was ok. we were treated to some crunchy biscuits and a drink later which was appreciated. the fireplace is a nice touch pity doesnt operate
ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Looking at the cakes from the outside I simply couldn't resist. I entered the shop and was greeted by a polite blond who was eager to please me. I ordered the strawberry fruit tart and had a nice creamy cuppaccino. Lovely indeed!! Then sitting there for an hour I decided to try the meat pie and loved it. Was a bit pricey but worth it considering the blond was great entertainment with her stories of trips and experiences abroad. Thanks Mary will surely come back for more.
Yummy!!!!. Was in Melbourne for a month and was walking down Acland Street when I noticed Le Bon Cake shop. I walked in and was well greeted by a cute blond with blue eyes who recommended a baklava and an iced chocolate. Well, the baklava wasnt as great as my mum's but came close. The iced chocolate was delicious. My friend ordered the spinach pie and a vanilla slice. Utterly delicious and fresh, i must say The blond then treated me to some biscuits which were nice and crunch and full of flavour!!! Then I sat and had a nice chat about the history of the cake shop. Her dad certainly started a great business. Will surely go back
I have been going to this shop for almost 20 years now. the owners and staff are very friendly and approachable food is absolutely adorable, one of the best cake shops in Melbourne. best baked cheese cake I've tasted in my life. Mary and family do a brilliant job!!! 10/10
Delicious Cakes...yummy!!!. I often frequent Le Bon for their delicious cakes, my favourite is the Vanilla Slice. Tonight, however, I wanted something different, so I tried the Mud Cake upon the lovely owner's suggestion, and she was right, it was so yummy!!! If you feel like chocolate, you have to have this cake - nice on a rainy day :) The girls in there are always so nice and friendly, it's good to see smiling faces not like some of the other near by shops.
Cute little French patisserie serving delicious home made pies and incredible cakes and bickies.
