Review Luna's Food & Wine Bar - St Kilda

Luna's is one of our favourite St Kilda restaurants. The staff are amazing, the coffee is great, and the food is always fresh and delicious. Plus an iconic view across to the Palais Theatre and Luna Park! Fairly recently they've redecorated their terrace area incorporating velvet chairs and a more intimate, elegant mood. We regularly drop in for coffee and have enjoyed brunch here too - last Friday night we dropped in for some cocktails and pizza to round out our evening.

A great cafe, food and wine bar in St Kilda, directly opposite the Palais and Luna Park. Service was fast and our brunch meals very tasty. The coffee was really good. Luna also caters for a wide range of dietary needs. The staff were really attentive, nice and chatty. Looking forward to a return visit for dinner, to sample their amazing wine list and to look out at the Palais when it's lit up beautifully in the evening.

Early dinner on a busy weekend! The food was delicious, the staff attentive and friendly. Excellent to sit overlooking such a busy strip and watch the world go by.

Genuinely gutted we had not given this place a go years ago!! Food awesome, the team were attentive, view awesome, this will be a local haunt from now on! Get the draghty going guys! A good cold pint was all that was missing!

Enjoyed my two visits here today. Once for coffee and cake; then later for a cold drink. Great food and drinks, great service, and lively surroundings and location.

Tl;dr: Only place available was best place in St Kilda Long story: Mum was visiting and me and my partner wanted to show the best our home St Kilda had to offer. Our original plan was a popular restaurant on the main strip of Akhman's, but due to some last-minute rescheduling, Luna was the only restaurant available that could accommodate for coeliacs like my mum. Now, if you're a local like me, you think you know Luna - that nice bar across the road from Luna Park, but kinda out of the way? Nah dude. It. Is. So. Good. Firstly, we arrive and they are having Japanese sake taste testing? We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation and told to go try some sake while they prepare the table. We get given free, delicious, authentic Japanese sake. Did you know colder climates make better sake? Because I sure as hell didn't. A few tastings (which were FREE remember) later we move inside because God knows mum's not great with her alcohol. Moving in to our actual dinner and the staff were amazing. Moved us to an area specifically to avoid a big party which was coming in later. They put up a blind so that the setting sun wasn't in our eyes. They were so nice, absolutely great to chat with, and were just always there when you needed them. The decor and the styling of the building was beautiful, but it were those people that made us feel so warmly welcomed. Then comes the food... The food was good. Really good. Like, really, really good. If there's a downfall to Luna's business model it's is that the mains were so good I couldn't even buy dessert. Long ramble, but honestly this is the best restaurant experience I've had in St Kilda. Like, damn, you know it's a good place because I wrote this whole damn essay.

Our new favourite venue! Best coffee my partner and I have ever had! Honestly. The coffee is absolutely amazing. Staff are lovely, friendly helpful. Food was equally as delicious as the coffee which I thought would be impossible! The owner Mark and anyone else involved, has clearly put lots of time and effort into this venue. Perfecting the menu, the staff and the overall venue and experience. Thanks again Mark and the great staff.

Sold on the lux velvet couches, amazing views of 2 iconic Melbourne places, people watching, sunshine. Love the deco, comfortable, amazing food. Will be back great spot for sure.

Really, really good coffee and snacks. I cannot wait to get to sample the whole menu, but due to what life has given us, what I have tried has been sensational! They are doing a great job and the community is behind you guys at every step, keep up the good work and you will be seeing me again shortly!

I ordered the pan-fried gnocchi and the rib-eye steak, it was heavenly! Would definitely recommend it! Thank you! :)

This is a fried chicken burger to add to the list. Far from a burger restaurant, Luna's know how to do a fried chicken burger! Situated opposite Luna Park, even old mate at the entrance wanted a bite of this beauty. Available for pick-up and delivery, if you are in the area and feel like a chicken burger, this will not disappoint. Burgers of Melbourne Approved!

Daayyummmm, well played team. A menu to suit a king (and queen). 5 Star food/service at a 3 star price. Very affordable for a family and the quality of food is just outstanding. Thanks team, keep up the good work!

Loving what is going on at Luna's. The new team have completely turned this place around. Staff are looking happy and have already become our best friends 😊 food is fresh and even on delivery has become our new fav. Well done team, can't wait for dine in!!

Loving the new vibe from Luna's. Boasting the best view in St Kilda, it is good to see this venue shine! The menu is great, extremely high quality as if you were at a 5 star restaurant. An addition to St Kilda that was desperately needed!

Fantastic spot for anyone who loves to graze and sip! They have a snacky style bar menu available in the afternoon/evenings that my husband and I really enjoyed. <br/><br/>Highlights were the Eggplant Chips (perfectly cooked) and the Cheese plate with apple. The wine list was great too and the staff and service was excellent.

Great family friendly place. Amazing food with options to<br/>order smaller serves of mains for the kids. Good wine list and great cocktails for the adults.

Nice venue. Great to hold a function. The coffee quality is great and goes well with one of our wood-fired pizzas

The salmon here is a must try! The chef cooked it so well and the wine they suggested was a great pairing. Good location, will be back

Came here for brunch after a beachside walk the other day. Love that they use St.Ali coffee and the hotcakes I had were delish! Great spot

This place was super quiet, my friends and I were the only ones here (though it was pretty early for dinner). Service was lovely and the morrocan lamb pizza was amazing. I would love to have it again.

3.5/5<br/>Sure there’s a restaurant inside...but the casual seating up front rocks a righteous outlook that’s abso-freaken-lutely the epitome of St Kilda. If you’re lucky enough to arrive at happy hour like we did (late Friday lunch), use it to congratulate yourself for wtf-ever. In our case a 19 hour roadtrip. We fist pumped over some basics & shared a hot, stretchy, cheesy, capricciosa pizza. The base was a smidge blonde but still pliable enough to support dem toppings. It was tasty & we’d order it again. Prices were altogether agreeable. In the stoic company of a newspaper-reading local throughout our extended visit, we embraced the irony of smugly mocking other selfie-taking tourists outside in the pouring rain. Haha. <br/><br/>We wish the very earnest team here all the best.
