There are a couple of Japanese / Sushi eateries around St Leonards (ranging from average to standard) but Cafe Wasabi is the best of the bunch (delicious!)

Tucked around the corner of the station tunnel (across the road from the station), it's easy to miss, but the smell of the pork and beef cooking in the front window will guide you.

Tasty and fresh Sushi with a great range of Nigiri, rolls and dishes compared to the others in St Leonards. The staff are very friendly and prices are fair. If only they served Scallop Nigiri!! Try them the next time you are in St Leonards!

Love this eatery in a box. Cheap, cheerful and friendly in that overly happy Japanese way. The smell of frying beef and pork at the front is arresting. Three jumbo sushi rolls with a can of drink is just $10. Come after 3pm and most sushi are close to half price.

Excellent Japanese food, great fast service. No frills location but you go there for the authentic tastes and textures. Great for the lunchtime crowd. Small undercover dining area. Can be a little noisy next to the train line but its not that intrusive.

Wasabi is a great place, very authentic and delicious Japanese food they serve. They have a massive variety of sushi and sashimi, rolls and soups. Perfect location too, they have a beautiful outside area where you fit 30 ppl max. Rainy day or sunny its great they have a massive umbrella which will help you for both occasions :]

This little cafe produces some of the cheapest yet tastiest meals. They have great sushi rolls, salads and bento boxes with a korean twist. I love the spicy chicken sushi and the seafood salad with sesame dressing. They also do udons and bibimbaps. Service is friendly and always with a smile. Definitely one of the best lunch time haunts at St. Leonards ———————— Food: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Atmosphere: 3/5 Value: 5/5 Visit again: Yes Try this: Seafood salad with sesame dressing

Good value food, quick service. Perfect place to get a quick bite. Its street hawker style shop is a unique in this area. There is an nice outdoor seating (under tree) at the back.

I wouldn't quite call this a cafe, more of a takeaway joint. That said, the food is good and relatively cheap. Especially enjoy the spicy pork off the BBQ.
