We visited hoosegow restaurant on Saturday evening , we was welcomed upon arrival and looked after by the waitress, we ordered the seafood platter and the meat platter to share among the four of us , and the food was amazing everything we had was wonderful, tge big selection of some excellent wines and the friendly service topped with amazing food made our evening great 👍 I would highly recommend hoosegow restaurant

What a sensational dining experience I had with my family this evening.
The food was excellent. We started with fat chips & chilli aoli to share. Mains were house speciality of chilli chicken, pork belly, king prawns in banana chilli sauce & wagyu steak. Portions were large & none of us finished our mains. Two 'afahoosegow' desserts followed consisting of chocolate ice cream, hot coffee & Drambuie. There was a kick of chilli in all but the steak (& ice cream!) but nothing my delicate palate couldn't handle.
What made this place so highly recommended was the outstanding service throughout. Genuinely warm & welcoming, we were made to feel like returning regulars, served by professionals who were obviously loving their role in ensuring we had a truly memorable dining experience. The stand out was when 3 of our servers & owner Shadia were waiting by the door to give us a sincere thank you for visiting & inviting us to return soon. And we will! For those who have experienced luxury cruise line Seabourn (one of the world's highest rated cruise lines) food, service & 'Seabourn Moments', this venue would be at home onboard any Seabourn ship.
Came in on Sunday night over the long weekend. Was busy so was expecting a long wait time but still had the food come out relatively quickly.
We had the meat platter to share between two people. All the meat was absolutely amazing, cooked to perfection and full of flavour. Bottle of red wine that was suggested by our waiter was perfect.
The wait staff/owner were extremely friendly and all made us feel very welcomed.
Owner even gave us a free hot apple pie shot each after our dessert.
100% will be back to try more delicious items off the menu. �
I have been going here for a long time. It is hands down a fabulous place for dinner. It's quality food menu is outstanding and the wine list is excellent. The service is the friendliest you will see. A hidden gem outside of the city servicing the eastern suburbs.
Today we celebrated my sons christening at Hoosegow with 95 of our friends and family. From the moment to met Shadia, the owner, I knew I was in great hands. She ensured we had everything we needed to make the day as seamless as possible. Not to mention that the food as absolutely amazing and the staff were so attentive to all of my guests needs. I cannot thank you enough for helping to make this day a very special one for our family. I highly recommend Hoosegow to anyone looking for a function or just an amazing place to enjoy a meal!! �

We attended there on Father's Day. The room ambiance was stunning. The staff were 11/10 with service. Super friendly and attentive. Food was delicious. Went here last week and fell in love with the ambience almost immediately. It feels like you’re taken away from Adelaide and entered a South American villa with its bright red tones, decor, sounds and smells. The staff here are so delightful and ready to help in any way with smiles all round. We had 13 people altogether but we ordered individual meals. The menu offers a variety of appetisers, mains, steak from the chargrill or seafood. I had the spicy, sticky ribs with fat chips, chipotle, and pineapple salsa. I absolutely love every part of my dish! My partner had the rib eye steak and ate it so fast because it was grilled perfectly and he couldn’t resist. Others ordered the meat platter which came with a combination of the chargrilled meats and ribs. I will definitely be back to this restaurant and have recommended it to all my friends already.

Food is amazing, service is amazing, ambience is amazing. Our group had a variety of entrees and mains and they were all delicious. Nothing more left to say but give it a try you won’t regret it.
Fantastic service - the staff here are attentive, friendly and talkative; but not to the point where it's intrusive.
The food here is pricey - but well worth the price. I'd go so far to say it's one of the best steaks in Adelaide (The MS5 rump in medium rare is to die for!).

Great service and generous portions. Brought my wife and baby for an early dinner, having not been there since they opened. My ribeye steak was huge and cooked as requested. Wife ordered the barramundi which was alright. Loved the roasted garlic on toasted bread as the entree. Well priced and will be back again.
Really good service and fantastic food! Portions are quite large so be aware. The chillie mussels were really good but the Mexican squid wasn’t my favorite. The chillie chicken and the lamb were equally good and the tres leche was good.
Fantastic service. The food was next level brilliant (the nicest brisket I’ve ever had) and appropriately priced. The dining experience is perfect with just the right amount of light/music. Absolutely loved it and can’t recommend high enough.

Very impressed by this place - a little on the expensive side but they were happy to use Entertainment Book vouchers which made it more affordable. The entrees were nice and the meats were very good quality. One of the best meat places at the moment! Staff are great and the team all saying farewell at the door on the way out is a nice touch. I have driven/walked past here so many times and thought it was time to give it a go. We walked in and the decor is just lovely. The key area I was impressed with was the attention to absorbing sound with decor sound pads on the ceiling and walls in addition to soft seat cushions. This could be improved further with sound absorbing material under the table. The staff we all fantastic. Started with the most amazing garlic bread served in the most amazing way 10/10. I had the specialty chicken with chips OMG the flavours were out of this world and not a bone in sight 10/10. Wine was 10/10 and there was something for everyone on the wine list. Other orders were steak and the brisket for the table all are very generous served and were all fantastic 10/10. Desserts were the affogato and chocolate tart another 10/10. Table service was just stop on and not intrusive. Everyone lined up at the door when people left to say thanks and wish you a good evening. So very impressed and will be back.

A hidden treasure and a must visit.
3.6 is way too low of a rating. The food was absolutely amazing. We got a couple of dishes to share and the top three dishes for all of us (albeit in different orders) were 1. signature chilli chicken 2. empanadas (came with the most beautiful tomato sauce I have ever had) and 3. middle eastern salad. When we were done it looked like the plates were licked clean. The price is a little pricey but we used the entertainment card and it was okay.
The food at Hoosegow Charcoal Restaurant was incredible! My husband and I had the beef brisket and the pork belly and they were both cooked to perfection. The interior of the restaurant is open but still feels very intimate and cosy. The service was very impressive, the staff were extremely attentive and knowledgeable and were focused on making our night fantastic. The only slight downside was the pricing was quite a bit higher than your standard restaurant, however it was definitely worth it. We will be dining here again for sure!

We were warmly welcomed at the entrance and the service continued with smiles & helpfulness throughout the evening.
Due to not bringing my reading glasses, I had a little trouble reading the menu in the subdued but atmospheric lighting.
We were given a small bowl of sweet potato crisps to nibble on while we chose our meals. For me the brisket, for him the eye fillet & for her the pork rib eye. All were delicious but special mention goes to the accompaniments which were perfectly matched to the meat: potatoes, slaw etc.
We were also given a friendly send off when we left.
While its not a cheap eats place, it is nice for a special occasion dinner. The on site parking is very convenient.
My only complaint is that the aircon was sometimes blowing cool air directly on our table even though it wasn't a warm night.

This restaurant surely did not disappoint - impeccable service, lovely decor and most importantly (in my opinion) delicious food.
We ordered the meat platter for two and I have to say their meat platter exceeded our expectations in terms of portion size and taste. Their Signature chicken was to die for! It was succulent, flavoursome, and had a great spicy kick to it. Personally, I would return just to have a chicken dish on its own.
Will be returning..once my wallet permits it!
Despite being almost empty on a freezing cold Tuesday night, the atmosphere was still beautiful! You can really tell they take pride and care about their service and the deliciousness they put in front of you and we loved that. Brisket and pork belly have my vote!
From the moment you walk through the door with the owner and his wife greeting you and your friends/family to the moment you leave this fantastic spot, you are spoilt with a mouth watering selection of foods to suit any palate, your orders are taken quickly, your food is served in a very reasonable time and the food is to die for. I have been to Hoosegow multiple times and have tried something different every time, the food is just great!!! and the service is the best I have ever had.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys great food and fantastic service.

I could not rave more about this fantastic restaurant! I was visiting family (I'm living and working in Auckland), and had a look at Zomato to see what was new and trending in terms of restaurants around Adelaide. Hoosegow Charcoal Restaurant was on that list, and I thought, "why not, lets give it a go".
I made a reservation online well in advance. When we arrived, our server showed us to our table and exclaimed that she was excited because I was their first international guest - I tried to say that I was originally from Adelaide, but they wouldn't have a bar of it! They started us off with some table water, and a bowl of popcorn (free), which was delicious - My Nan's friend wanted to tip it into her purse and take it all home with her (maybe they could sell it as a 'take home' option?).
Everything on the menu looked delicious, but the meat plate for two looked particularly good. $119, but worth every cent - it was enough for all three of us, and with more to take home! In fact, my Nan and I had what was left for dinner the next day (they were happy to pack leftovers for us). We also had the confit garlic bulb, charred ciabatta, butter, pecorino as a starter, and a plate of squid.
The service was attentive, and the staff dolled on us all night, even down to showing us to the door when we were ready to leave, and opening it for us. It was a lovely experience and I definitely want to go back with friends the next time I am in Adelaide.
Also, as an aside - they're on Dimmi and Qantas Restaurants, so make sure you book through them to get your points!

Went there on a Sunday night, it was cold and windy outside but the restaurant attendant welcomed us well and made us felt warm :)
We were suggested to share one entree, maybe he wanted us to save room for the dessert, we had the confit garlic with bread on side, very yum and not sth I would spend time making at home, we enjoyed a lot.
They also have a range of good SA wines, some labels that r not seen in other places, such as Tscharke, one of my favorite winery.
Had the signature chilli chicken and steak for main, chilli chicken is spicy, but I'm an Asian so I for sure enjoyed it hahah, my partner enjoyed the beef as well.
Ordered a sorbet kind of dessert to share coz the main were really filling and also a shot of I forgot what the name liquor, interesting.
I asked they will be changing a winter menu soon, so for sure I will be back maybe with a group of friends to try it out :)
The service was excellent. Even though it was quite busy water was topped up and orders taken quickly. The confit garlic was a great way to start the meal. There is a meat focus on the menu and the passion was demonstrated in our slow cooked beef and pork - yum!
Went Saturday night with friends for the first time and very impressed. Staff were great, nothing was too much trouble. Menu was impressive and food tasted great. Meat melted in your mouth and generous portions. One of the meals was not quite right and was replaced without question. Will definitely go back.

Hoosegow Charcoal Restaurant, located on Magill road, is providing that alternative, dishing up some of the best charcoal cooked dishes in Adelaide. I recently had the pleasure of visiting Ara and Shadia as they showed off what they could with a wide selection of premium meats.
This was the location for a special occasion and the quailty of the food matched the day. The eye fillet steak was mouth watering and tender. It had a great pepper taste and went down a treat. The chilli chicken was cooked to perfection and a pleasure to devour. The starters were great a freshness and flavour. To finish the hazelnut ciger had something in it that reminded me a christmas. If you like your charcoal cooked food you need to try this place!
This is the place one goes for a special occassion or if one wants to impress a date. The decor is richly red, so my food pics will generally have a red hue. Red is seen everywhere. Not sure if the owners were trying to reflect passion or believe that red brings goodluck like the Chinese. The staff are very friendly and helpful - ✅ Ambience was achieved - ✅ Food was decent - ✅ The only thing that irritated me was the chilli crabs that was part of our seafood platter. The crabs were tiny and messy to eat. No finger bowl was offered. Personally, i would forgo the crabs and replace it with either grilled scallops or oysters. The owners of this establishment are chilli fanatics, so if you are a capsaicin and grilled food addict like myself, then this might be one place worth visiting. Side note, if you don't like latin-influenced flavours, beware. Oh and bring a full wallet and your Entertainment Card.
The true success of a restaurant is when you get recurring flashbacks about the delicious food you had there days later. We have dined here several times and the food is truly yummy. Every thing is cooked perfectly and the service attentive without it being in your face. Highly recommended.
There's nothing quite like roses to charm the ladies and last week Hoosegow was set to charm us all at a preview of their Running with Bulls wine degustation dinner. Located on Magill Road, this Latin American inspired fusion restaurant marries with Eastern and Asian flavours perfectly using the most basic yet fragrant form of cooking - charcoal grill.
Charcoal bbq cooking adds a smoky flavour, charred surface, and traps in moisture. Normally associated with meat, charcoal transforms vegetables too, making it an ideal style of cooking for vegetarians too!. When invited by McFuzzlebutt’s Manchen to dine on a preview of the Hoosegow Charcoal Restaurant Wine Degustation, I jumped at the chance to sample vegetarian, charcoal cuisine.
My husband and I dined here on a voucher but I would happily invite friends to enjoy a meal here any time. The meat was succulent, generous and well cooked. Service was friendly and attentive. Excellent value, beautiful food. Highly recommended.
Having purchased another dinner voucher deal, this time it was time to try Hoosegow Charcoal Restaurant 419 Magill Road, Saint Morris. When you don't know what to expect from a new restaurant, a voucher is a great way to try it. This was another unexpected great experience. Our voucher deal consisted of the meat plank for two with char-grilled eye fillet, chilli chicken, chorizo, olives, vegetables and charred ciabatta (bread) along with a glass of wine each. What an amazing offer at $28.00 for the two of us!.......
Lovely rustic atmosphere. Service was friendly and while food came out fast the cocktails were on the slow side to come to the table. Food seemed good quality, well balanced and served extremely elegantly. They ran out of most of the vegetarian options which was the most disappointing thing.
Tasty Chargrilling!. Indoor and outdoor feel to this place, dark interior, metal and concrete theme front bar seems fun, dining area a bit more cavernous..

Eggplant rolls with salsa filling; prawns on spicy salsa; $99 Shared meat plate (eye fillet steak, pork rib, chorizo sausage, chilli chicken and lamb backstrap, plus roasted potatoes (duck fat); pear tarte tatin.
Tasty food for sure. Spicy salsa was the same for both eggplant and prawn dishes so flavour was similar but still enjoyed.
Staff are very keen to ensure you are happy with everything. At first I thought the $99 shared meat dish was a bit steep, but when you break it down......I guess the value is achieved.
Extra Sides ordered of Broccoli and another lettuce/beetroot - both good @ $12 per side
Go the pear tart for dessert......very good.
Good wine modern up to date list...Tscharke Touriga complemented the dishes (spicy tempranillo style)

This restaurant offers good steaks. My husband had the scotch fillet with chimichurri sauce. It was nice although he asked for medium rare and it was closer to medium-well. I ordered the Argentinian beef ribs. The ribs were super tender and have strong robust flavours. A warning the ribs are also very spicy. If you don't want the ribs to "burn twice" then don't order this dish. But if you like spice then this dish is great. They also do a very refreshing mocktail and have good selection of cocktails. The broccolini with tahini sauce was delicious.
Sensational!. Went the other night. Had the seafood platter -WOW soooo delicious, perfect guys! Stand outs were the baraa and prawns, buys a little over but that's probably just my taste! Those duck fat chips are to die for -even better when you order a side of truffle mash to dip them in ;) these guys also really know how to pick staff, too. Our waiter was sensational! See you at day of the dead dinner! Keep it up!
Awesome food!!. We had dinner here the other night and the food and service were excellent. Entrees were delicious but small portions for the price you pay ($23 for 2 prawns??) but the mains were amazing. Meat platter has eye fillet, chorizo, lamb backstrap, huge pork belly ribs that fall apart they are that tender and big portions of chilli chicken all with duck fat potatoes. Couldn't fault anything on the night definitely worth going if you havent yet.
Absolutely blown away with this place! First visit to treat my new fiancè to a night out to celebrate our engagement. The staff were so friendly and attentive. The food was amazing, so generous and the flavours were insatiable!

Little suggestions: a little be slow between entry and main course; the lights outside the store window keep reflecting and blinding our eyes, could do something about that.
Went there last night for my friend’s birthday dinner. Everything was on point. The food, the atmosphere, and above all the people working over there were friendly and nice. They celebrated the birthday and sang through the way. To my surprise, even the basic lemon, lime and bitters tasted so refreshing! You cannot go wrong with this place. Highly recommended!

To start with, every single member of staff was incredible. All of them so friendly and helpful - we have never had better service from any restaurant we've ever been to.
The food was to die for. We got the Octopus and Garlic bulb bread as a starter (tik-tok this stuff to see how good it is), and for mains we got the Rib Eye and Chilli Chicken. Everything was so succulent, cooked absolutely perfectly and packed with flavours that remained in my mouth for hours prior.
The vibes are awesome. Has a really Latin American sort of vibe going on, with so many different textures and colours.
The price is what you would expect to pay for this type of experience. Mains average $40 and starters average $20.
Even if I tried, I wouldn't be able to fault one thing about Goosegow. You haven't experienced what Adelaide dining has to offer until you've been here.
They did a medium sized party booking well, the set menu is generous and tasty, lots of variety, it was an entertaining evening with some nice birthday touches.
