Great food friendly service
Finding a place in Sydney that sold hand cut chips made me cry happy tears! 😅🙌 hands down best chips in Sydney!
The locals were concerned when Con retired and why not? A Greek with more than 40 years in the game, perfect chips, scallops and burgers. The new owners however have stayed faithful to the the one thing that made this place iconic i.e. hand cut, twice fried chips. Smart move, rest of the menu has been upgraded and now with outside dining, has retained it's status as a great Fish n' Chip shop
THREE WORDS..HAND CUT CHIPS!!!! Some of the best in Sydney done the old fashioned way! I know because I used to work in an old fast food shop. "Chips please Mr. Perry" AND I really don't like frozen chips except maybe those shoe stringy ones but they are not a patch on the proper twice cooked hand chopped variety.
Located near Stanmore Station, it is only one of few restaurants in the area that is open at night as most other outlets are mostly cafes that only cater for the breakfast/brunch/lunch crowds.
Service is extraordinarily cheery and polite. I decided to tuck into some Fish & Chips as well as a Corn Jack. Wrapped in butchers paper, when I first opened it up I thought the fish was fried to darker shade of golden. Thinking it might've been over fried, I was pleasantly surprised that the batter was nice and crispy and the fish inside was quite moist. There was a generous portion of crispy chips to go with it. It was quite good value. The corn jack was just a prepackaged good that is deep fried so that was fine.
They do accept credit cards but there is a 50c surcharge.
Good to see this little shop has changed hands to a team actually able to fry up a great service of fish and chips!
The new owners: Hoi, Matthew, and Ben are a cheery bunch, they've got good solid menu that's also great value.
Well done guys! Happy to see this place back on track!
