This restaurant is perfect for a homely Vietnamese meal, with authentic dishes. I enjoyed a delicious Rare Beef Pho. The meat was delicious and tender and the broth was very enjoyable and full of flavour. The serving sizes are large so you will definitely leave full. If you’re interested in a drink to accompany your meal, the avocado shake is thick and tasty and a perfect companion for any dish ordered.
Great to go solo or with some company. The food is affordable and generously portioned.
amazing place, with the most amazing menu. Their pho is simply delicious, not only does it fill the stomach, but also the soul. Menu is reasonably priced and is the place is centrally located. just yum!
This is one of my fav all-time Viet restaurant, I simply love most of the dishes on the menu. Though nothing can ever beat their Laksa, still think it’s one of the best I’ve tasted! Love the broth so much :D they got really friendly staff too, and the food come out pretty quick.
+3 standard points for food
+1 all round good!
-0.5 egg noodles were meh
3.5 = not quite a 4... I’ll probably come back.
Noise level: normal to loud
“Just general all round good” i.e. service was prompt and kind, seating was comfy and well lit, and in general, the food is pretty decent! Food came out so fast.
$29.50 for a pho and crispy chicken egg noodles.
Highlights:
1. The pho was sweet and overly heavy on the MSG. I had the small size, which is a decent portion. For reference, I’m definitely not a big eater (for whom have a large for $16), but I’m no mouse either.
If you have a cold (as I did) it makes a comforting, easy, wholesome meal.
2. Crispy chicken! It was so crispy!! But the flesh was still juicy and tender.
3. Super. Fast. Service.
Price: a bit pricey, but if you’re in Strathfield and don’t feel like korean, then this is what I’d expect. If you want value, get a kimbap from a Korean grocer.
Went here two times in one week because I was craving good Vietnamese food. They had nice and friendly service! And the foods that I had ordered were delicious! Definitely would come back whenever I’m craving again ahah.
Pho here is pretty decent; the broth is not oily and quite flavoursome. The vermicelli here is nice. Service is friendly and relatively fast.
Saigon Bowl is a casual Vietnamese restaurant located in the hustle and bustle of Strathfield, an area usually known for Korean food. We came here for dinner one night, having heard great things about their food and were keen to try it for ourselves. To start off with, we ordered a selection of their milk teas, the original, mixed bean, avocado and taro milk teas. They were delicious, my favourite was taro which was light and creamy in flavour, with the pearls being nice and chewy.
If Saigon Bowl was a lot closer to where I lived I would be a regular. The Vietnamese food was marvellous; beautiful to look at and packed with flavours and respect from the chef. The people of Strathfield are highly fortunate for this place being in their hometown. Review is now up on Spooning Australia.
Pho had good flavour and was very filling. The summer rolls were tightly packed with delicious noodles and prawns, great with the peanut sauce!!!
It's pretty decent. The bowl was bigger than i expected and it tasted pretty good. The staff members are friendly and a great place to hang.
Definitely the best Pho we have tasted in Sydney. Great service and great atmosphere. The flavours were balanced, meat fresh. The prawn rolls amazing.

You know when you just need a decent feed with good company? This is the friendly chilled vibe that Saigon Bowl at Strathfield gives. Nestled conveniently close to the train station, it's not a place that tries to be something it's not. I genuinely really enjoyed my meal here - and I hear it's a real local favourite!
My absolute pick was the Thit Nuong (sizzling marinated pork), but I shared the meal as a group of 6 people, so got a taste of errythang. Kind of a fusion menu of good Vietnamese food with some Chinese flavours, you can't go wrong here 😉
Located twelve kilometres west of Sydney CBD, Strathfield is one of the most culturally diverse suburbs in Sydney and well known as a mecca for Korean cuisines. Our dinner destination tonight, however, was Saigon Bowl – an unusual addition to the main boulevard near the train station. You don’t come to Saigon Bowl for luxurious interiors or Michelin star service, you come here for no frills South-east Asian food, especially Vietnamese. Pho with beef ($15 large) is a must-try and a good benchmark for Vietnamese joints. The flavours in the bones, ginger, shallots and fish sauce are released after hours of slow cooking and produce the most extraordinary clear broth.
I haven't been to Saigon Bowl for a while but stopped by recently for a late lunch. The prices here a tad more expensive than others but the taste is still top notch. Beef pho regular size ($12.50) - fresh cuts of rare beef, onions, coriander with slippery smooth noodles. The broth is hot and flavoursome with mouthwatering beef flavour.
Finn & Filo Downunder
+3.5
Had a Sunday lunch at Saigon Bowl. Finn was introduced to good Vietnamese... Filo side of team is a regular customer of this place but I was first time visitor, she knows that not a fan of vietnamese food. Service good and fast, happy staff. Food fresh and exactly what expected for Vietnamise restaurant. My better half loved the food, my taste its lacking a bit of flavour.. but nothing wrong in it.
This a dependable restaurant within Strathfield. I used to come here regularly for takeaway. This is a mainstay in this area and has outlasted nearly every other restaurant as this is now basically Koreatown as for every restaurant that has shut down, a Korean restaurant has replaced it.
Service here is friendly and brisk. Served within moments of sitting down, the speed which the food is delivered in extremely quick time.
The food we ordered were Canh Ga (stuffed chicken wings, 2pcs), Bun Cha Gio (spring rolls with vermicelli), and Bun Suon (pork chop with vermicelli. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. I found it to be good value for money. The stuffed chicken wing could've been a bit hotter in the middle. A refreshing Coconut Juice was what I drank.
I only knew this was a good place after I tried others. You always need something to compare I guess. I like their fried rice very much now. It's a good view place though the owner is korean lol
When ever I crave for crispy chicken with a sour chilli dip...this is the place I go to!
Crispy chicken with Tomato rice (plus salad) $14. ~MF
Soon as I step into Strathfield I need my noodle fix from this place, great price + hearty sizes and a nice combination of fillings, I needs my chilli Saigon !!
Been there a couple of times for dinner. Nice vietnamese cuisines. Tried chicken fried rice. The quantity and taste is too good. Not too much expensive.
Avocado in vermicelli noodles was awesome!
I ordered the combination vermicelli salad and wow the pork was super crispy and fresh and the spring rolls were yummy. The addition of avocado made it so yummy too.
Always come here with family when we need to have a quick bite before heading back to school. Nice ambiance, great food and the price won't hurt your pocket that much.
Over the span of 10 years we have tried almost every dish here. We always love their pork chop dishes and Thai Beef Salad. Their Pad Thai is very authentic in my opinion.
Make sure you also try their Vietnamese beer which suits the food here really well.
We never have any complain about their service. Food is served in reasonably timely manner.
We hadn't had Vietnamese in ages and ❤️ This. We had won ton noodle soup and crispy chicken w soup. Delicious! Kind service for our 12mo baby and they were fine with parking our pram inside too.
Very good food. Very nice people, excellent service.
Massive yes.
Ready good quick food... Usually. Yesterday had a really nice, flavoursome and refreshing pho (served with very fresh beanshoots, chilli and herbs). Today order Tum Yum soup disappointing to say the least (nice ingredients but clearly made from paste only). Same could be said for a friend's curry...
Friends ordered salt and pepper squid, AMAZING!!! Fresh, flavoursome and well balanced!
Cheap & Cheerful. This place is a sunday night regular for me. You really do get what you pay for at this place...the food tastes good and the servings are very generous. I find the staff attentive and the place is always packed. Sure it's humble and nothing special but for a quick $20 feed I think this place has the goods!
First time here and always seem to bypass it for the local Korean eateries scattered along this road. Besides the most generous of portions and fast service, you will find friendly staff and location so close to the station. The Avocado shake was good and crispy noodles were crispy and fresh. All in all a good experience!
Accidentally took the express train to Strathfield so decided to have dinner here. Place was packed when we went. We got set A that comes with a bowl of pho, fried rice, and spring rolls. The pho was very good but the noodles were a bit over cooked. Fried rice is meh. Not the best. Loved the summer rolls though!
Good place with generous portion sizes. They have lovely value for money dishes. Lovely to try especially in the colder days, when hot meals feel more comforting.
This is one of my favourite places to visit in Strathfield. The food is good! Specially recommended the pho, pork chop and fried rice. The wonton noodle soup is also worth trying.
This is our go-to restaurant whenever we're around Strathfield near the train station. Food is always great, tasty, great value, and quick! The place is always packed but they are fully staffed so waiting time is very short!
I usually visit this place each week. I love the food esp pork chop with noodle soup, fried wonton, vietnamese hot and sour soup, sea food soup and sizzler. Quick and accurate service. This is a busy place so if you want to go in group in peak hours be prepared to wait for the table. But the wait is worth it. Amazing staffs and amazing location. Great value for money. You can find street parking if lucky and plenty of parking in strathfield plaza. Will visit soon ♥️
Good service & atmosphere. My partner had the combination stir fry noodles & it was delicious, I was disappointed with my crispy chicken and tomato rice as it was more bone than meat.
