Being there at a winter morning with warm sunshine , nice staff and an excellent breakfast. Nothing is bad except the bathroom is temporarily closed. Anyway, coffee is good.

Went here for lunch with my sister and a friend. Coming to this place was an easy task because it's conveniently located near Strathfield station. The place had an authentic rustic yet modern feel to it, creating a comfortable atmosphere when you want a quick escape from the busy vibe of the city. It was a Sunday lunch so the place was packed with lots of people but we managed to get a table for us three. The staff were courteous and prompt with their service. We each ordered different meals. I specifically went for the Boscaiola pasta with Fettuccini and a strawberry and blueberry yogurt smoothie. Everything was great!! My pasta was creamy and delicious.
Having said this, I would really recommend people to visit Chef's Palette!
Great place to hangout and have coffee. The coffee was pleasent, not too sweet and not too bitter just right. The 🍰 was pretty good according to my mate. The service was awesome, they are friendly and easy going. The drawback of this restaurant is that it can be a bit Pricey.
eggs benedict was sooo goood my parents shared a club sandwich and their chips are so yummy and well seasoned! overall we really feel lucky to have a brunch spot just across from where we live☺
Always enjoy the coffee. My fave spot in Strathfield for a nice coffee before work. Staff are always pleasant. Could add an extra or two staff in the morning but generally it’s fine.
Nice place to study and grab a coffee/cake if you enjoy studying at cafes (only negative is they dont have wifi and the tables are quite small). The blueberry cheesecake (around $8 from memory) was nice but was slightly too sweet for me personally. The almond croissant ($4.95) is quite average and the shakshouka was good but just wished they gave more pieces of sourdough.
We had a great experience having late breakfast at this awesome spot. The prices compared to mall coffee shops are very cheap. We had 1 breakfast and 2 long black for like $20. The ambience is the nice and the staff is super friendly. Highly recommended!!

Typical coffee / cake, though I find their cakes tend to be better than others in the area. Staff are quite friendly. The speaker for their music is pretty nice. Comfy chairs too.
Stake sandwich is nice, steaks is a little bit dry. Chips is very nice and spiced. Coffee is soso. Service is good. Food came pretty quick. Overall it’s pretty good!
my mate brought me here because he said it was one of his favourite places for brunch. i had the corn fritters (vegetarian) which was the perfect serving for me (he said it was small). i really enjoyed their coffee, nice blend.
An inner-west favourite that takes on common brunch dishes with an added culinary twist. The prices are very reasonable and food is always consistent. Definitely recommend to those looking for a quaint brekky/brunch cafe!
Heard of this very popular Instagram worthy cafe in Strathfield for a while now and always wanted to try it out. There are indoor and outdoor seating, but outdoor seems kinda noisy with the cars and people outside. You order and pay at the counter. The staff here are very friendly.
We ordered the Eggs Rustic (bacon eggs benedict) and the Eggs Royale (salmon eggs benedict). The portions were huge and it also came with salad. The hollandaise was nice but it kinda tasted a little bit like vinegar. The coffee was also nice too.
Would come back and try other things on the menu :)
Good location and food. Service was fast and friendly. We found that the plates were a bit too small for the amount of food served for brunch dishes.

Was bought here on a recommendation that their desserts are amazing, and sure enough, they are. I mean, after all, who can resist a dessert joint that offers a mean treat!?
The café's interior consist of dark wood and that Sherlock Holmes antiquity type chairs x urban hipster chic. Somehow, the look works for this hipster café run by some hip Korean youngsters.
What we ordered to share: orange and almond cake, and a carrot and nut cake. They were both delicious, and rather moist. To help wash down the cake, we ordered their Lemon iced tea which was absolutely delicious. Freshly brewed but not too sweet in taste.
This place is a great find, and if I were in the neighborhood again sometime, this place is worth revisiting. Perhaps, I'd give their food a road test... for the next time.
Ok, so sadly, I'm completely addicted to this place!! They have the best food ever. I LOVE all day breakfast, so this place wins every time. The coffee is so good too! I drink Mocha, and they use real chocolate - who can complain about that?!? They lose half a point, cause they don't have free wifi. And as someone who works from the café, that would be a huge bonus.
As someone who comes here 2-3 days a week. I recommend .... well pretty much everything on the menu - personally i'm a huge fan of the veg big breakfast. And if you're looking for a fabulous bargain, the Salmon avocado is a sure thing every time. Looking to share something - the club sandwich is super yummy and SUPER huge!!

Rarely will I go out for breakfast, but this Sunday we thought, why the hell not.
Ended up in Strathfield at Chef's Palette. As a budget foodie, I'm generally not too keen on paying too much for breakfast food, but after seeing some other customers' tables with food, I thought this place looks interesting.
We ordered an egg's Benedict with salmon, salmon avocado sandwich and cappuccinos. Service was very quick and complimentary self serve water was available.
The decor of the restaurant was rustic and modern with a comfy ambience.
The coffees first came out with their "subtle sweet" blend which has aromas of blueberry and vanilla. Didn't really taste the blueberry or vanilla, but the coffee was different with a subtle sweetness which was quite enjoyable.
When the meals arrived, they looked spectacular. The salmon avocado sandwich had he salmon wrapped into a flower shape. The avocado was nicely seasoned and combined with the salmon was delish!
The eggs Benedict was interesting with a salad with fruit on the side topped with a sweet balsamic vinegar sauce. I was a bit skeptical about the taste, but it went down a treat!
Overall, a good and fast dining experience!
Great coffee, great food and great customer service. The green tea tiramisu is a must have although it is slightly overpriced. All the times i've been here, the staff have been welcoming and service was fast. Also glad that they have vegan options avaliable!!
Large cafe in Strathfield Plaza overlooking the town square (which is currently a construction site). They have the most divine looking desserts in the counter display and if I hadn't just had breakfast I would have definitely had a slice of strawberry tart. As it was, just had a coffee. Pretty reasonable at $3.50 for a regular cappuccino.
Food was great. Pricing is fair.
Although, portions were small. We were all still very hungry after our meal *cries*
I ordered baked eggs and a strawberry shake. Don't get me wrong, the food is really GOOD! (In my personal opinion) but there just isn't enough and you leave the restaurant feeling unsatisfied and empty.

Edit: In general, I think the meal I ordered was 'supposed to be' small. Looking at the other meals in the gallery, some other meals look very filling e.g. the burgers and whatnot.
Indoor seating can be difficult to nab as this place gets pretty busy. Service was friendly but slow. I'm not sure if they forgot our order but our drinks came at least half an hour after our cake (but we were in no rush and they apologised for the delay).
The brownie cake is sweet and rich. It's on the dry side for a brownie but the ganache layer through the middle compensates. The chocolate garnish tasted off.
I enjoyed the green tea latte - light in flavour and creamy. The mocha was lukewarm and mild in flavour but was still enjoyable.
This is a nice post dinner/afternoon tea cafe where you can sit and chat without feeling the need to vacate your table.
I really love this place. They are running coffees from Five Senses Coffee and baristas doing really great work. I normally have iced long black or flat white but gelato shake is amazing too!

Great place for a coffee catch up. We arrived after 5 in the evening so the kitchen was closed but they have a really good selection of desserts and savory to go with coffee or tea.
We ordered a croissant and a fig tart with our coffee. The service for the coffee was slow given that it was a busy being a Sat evening. The croissant was average but the fig tart was great. It had pistachio and almonds on it. It wasn't overly sweet or heavy (but then we shared it between 3 so I could be wrong there).
Would love to go and try the brownie cake or the cheesecake. The breakfast menu also sounds interesting.
I always come here for later night cake becuase it seriously open until 11-12am at night...The recent two visits I tried the strawberry tart, tiramisu and the blueberry cheesecake. Strawberry were very fresh and looks so nice on the tart. Tiramisu is in a little jar and I love how it look and taste.
Blueberry cheesecake was a bit of drama. Was there alone reading some book and suddenly want go bathroom. I asked one staff to look after my half finished cake but the other staff still mistakenly through it to the bin. The first staff felt so bad and offered me a new slice! So the service was actually quite good!
Apart from cake, it also have quiet big range of ice tea/frappes to choose from. After hello happy in strathfield close down, this is actually the only place I go for cake after dinner in this area now.
A very nice small cafe here in Strathfield. I highly recommend the pulled pork Benedict, it was absolutely delicious. The big breakfast plate is also very appealing. A friend got the soft shell crab burger from the lunch menu which looked tasty too. We also couldn't ignore the desserts on display - I'd recommend the green tea tiramisu
Nice standard brunch cafe. Dim lighting, dark-coloured interior, people smoking at the outdoor tables, food is served gorgeously. The most Australian brunch cafe in Strathfield. Cakes and deserts are amazing - a little steep price-wise but worth the money.
Had avocado on toast, which was fantastic, except the bread. They serve sourdough toast, I believe, and the toast is so hard and its "fibers" so sharp that they scratched all around my gum.

I came here on a winter night with my Staffy and better half in hand for some hot chocolate and green tea latte. The hot chocolate was nice and decent size but the green tea latte was a little on the small size both around $5.50 but they both tasted wonderful! The owner even let my Staffy into the cafe as long as he wasn't rowdy - which he wasn't. They were very polite and gave my pup plenty of pats. I'll be back if I feel like treating myself 😊
This is one of my favourite cafe in the local. Went there on a sunday morning. It was packed but i still can find my seat. Ordered a cap and softshell crab burgar at the beginning. The burgar has a good portion , reasonable price. The negative was the fries at some point is too dry. I am not a big fan of french fries unless i chose to go to mccas on a day for a burgar. I reckon if they cook it to long ,it will be extremely dry , on the flip side , it was extremly crunchy.
The coffee is okay but i think if they can be aware of the temperateure of the milk before pouring. My cup of cap was not hot enough. But i guess this is all related to the habit of the barista. However, the coffee bean is at its premium.
I will recommend my friends to go there for a coffee and food.
Probably one of the best club sandwiches I have ever had. Decently priced and affordable, food is great and very filling. Very friendly staff and service. Been there twice and already planning my next brunch there. Drinks are average, not the best; they're reasonably priced and portioned but I've had better. The blue lemonade is too sweet and there isn't much taste in their ice chocolate.
Overall, great cafe, considering its price and portions and located very close to Strathfield station. Definitely one of my favourite cafes :)

Great chill out space! Haven't really tried their food but their cheesy fries are da bombbb especially when the cheese is melted mmmmm.... their coffees are always up to good standard!! Keep it up!!
Pictured is the Chef's plate, Toasted ham, cheese, tomato and marmalade Croissant. Good food at an affordable price. The croissant was perfectly toasted and delicious. The Chef's plate was extremely filling and had a bit of everything.

They in fact have really good food. I liked their ravioli and pasta :) they need to work on their coffee and big brekki though. Overall it was a pleasant one. :)

Strathfield is literally packed with cafes and coffee shops so it's always a real dilemma for me. However, I think I found my new favorite spot which is conveniently located right in front of the Plaza (old MSM spot).
Chef's Palette is an awesome cafe in Strathfield that offers an amazing range of drinks, coffees, and cakes. They also have a comprehensive brunch menu which includes burgers, pancakes, and pastas. For my first experience, I opted to go with a trio of small treats. I will try the brunch items next time!
Anyways, I ordered the lemon meringue, the oreo cheesecake, and the strawberry cheesecake. They were all very delicious. In addition, this cafe has amazing interior and it's really trendy.

It's so nice to see a nice, fresh, modern looking cafe with non-korean dishes on the menu lol. I've been around Strathfield a long time and this cafe is a breath of fresh air. It's almost like having new blood in the area.

Breakfast here is always a delight. Eggs Benedict with salmon and apple fennel slaw. Salmon, smashed avocado, poached egg. Chef's plate-- breakfast for two. Always beautifully presented, just make sure you leave space for the champagne watermelon cake!
I come here for desserts mainly but recently went for lunch. Pork Sliders were delicious and food was well presented. Great service and food arrived very quickly :)
This cafe has quickly become a family favourite! The place itself is totally unexpected as it's situated quite close to the Strathfield train station. It's cosy enough to have a good conversation with friends, while easy listening music plays in the background. My regular mocha is made exactly the way I want it, and the breakfast options are always delicious & well presented. Keep this place going as it is!
This neat little cafe boosts quite a tasty selection of cakes and pastries. Although I have yet to try one - I definitely will. I ordered the green tea blended ice, and it was most definitely the one of the best I've had yet.. I'm somone that loooooveees her green tea. I also got the hotdog and beef burger to try. Both came out very presentable. The fries itself was very comparable to maccas fries - Quite tasty. I felt like it was worth the $10 given how fulfilling I was after the hot dog. The beef burger was something I tried in another visit. This too was pretty good for $15. I would definitely recommend you to give this place a try if your in the area.

Love their cake display even if it is 9am in the morning. Today I got poached egg, avocado and smoked salmon. Dish was simple, generous amount of smoked salmon and done well, thoroughly enjoyed it. The big breakkie was well portioned, could have done with a little more bread but otherwise quite satisfying.
I've tried their watermelon cake before, not as good as black star but good attempt. Their Strawberry Castle is a good dessert to share between 3people. Strawberry ice cream, fruit, jelly, custard, icing what more could you want in a dessert.
Highly recommend coming here with friends.

Chefs Palette is a great place for a nice weekend brunch. The decor is so adorable and the food is delicious. The baked eggs with chorizo are a must try as well as the green tea tiramisu. They have a huge selection of desserts which would be great to try after dinner too. Definitely will be back to check out the watermelon cake with grape jelly.
Been here couple of times for coffee and breakfast. Order-and-pay at the counter makes confusing for new dine in customers. The coffee was so so but was abit slow to be made. Generally CP is a good place for a peaceful morning with a great choice of music and people are normally enjoy their morning coffee and beeakfast.
Food was great all the time. They have a contemporary kitchen style and produce a traditional food in a new modern method. Corn fritter and eggs benedict were exactly what I've been expected. Love the poached eggs here. They are 99.9% constant all the time. Foods were so far worth what you were paying for. Definitely recommended.
The only minor negative here is coffee. Hopefully they will take care abit more abt them. Or maybe I am just a picky person on my morning coffee.
The waffle stack here is td4, and very much worth the value paid too. It can be easily shared between 2 or even up to 6 girls if you've just had dinner. The hot chocolate however isn't very worth it. It tastes just like cocoa powder with heated milk, it wasn't overly sweet which was good, but it's quite bland and basically just fills and warms you up if that's what you aim for.I'll definitely be back to try the other desserts too, very excited to try them!
Went here at lunch time with a few friends on a nice Sunday afternoon. The workers were nice but some of them were unwelcoming and did not care much about what they were doing. I ordered the green tea yogurt drink for $5.80 which, quite frankly, was not worth it. The drinks came out reasonably quickly but the food took a while, which was not surprising as they had a full house. Overall it's a nice place to catch up with friends and I might come back in the future.
MSM is having a facelift and change its name as Chef's Palette. On top of their cakes and sweets selection like other MSM cafes, this place also serves breakfast and lunch menu. Sweet Potato Gnocchi with pumpkin puree and forest mushroom is a heart stealer. Gnocchi is crispy and golden fries on the outside while stay chewy and soft on the inside. The puree is like thick soup with the right sweetness and mushroom juiciness.
Green Tea Tiramisu served in a small jar and pretilly garnished. It's smooth and light with vibrant green color and cookie crumble at the bottom of the jar.

On the way to a different cafe, I stumbled upon Chef's Palette. From the outside Chef's Palette has all the markings of an inner-city hipster bar, only it's NOT! I was intrigued and as if he read my mind, my husband offered to have our afternoon coffee here instead of the other cafe that we initially planned.
Soothing Jazz music, exposed brick wall, dimly lit lightings and leather couch interior with vintage wooden tables giving this place a romantic yet rustic and tavern slash whisky bar kind of ambience. A glass counter at the cafe's entrance is filled with an array of desserts, cakes, pies, slices and other sweet delicacies.
To my delight, the Blueberry Cheesecake we had was absolutely yum! Creamy and light without being overly sweet. We also had Apple Slice which was good but not a stand-out. The Green Tea Tiramisu Jar was light with a lovely strong green tea flavour.
But it was the Champagne Watermelon Cake that steals the spotlight. It was fresh and light and fluffy and everything you want a delicious cake to be. I happened to take away the cake, because I already ate too much of their desserts and I enjoyed it at home with a glass of French Sparkling Rosé, heavenly!
Their coffee was not bad either, I genuinely enjoyed my Chef's Palette Dutch (Iced) Coffee, it was their signature black coffee served with ice.
I did not try their savoury menu, but their desserts definitely better than some cafes and dessert bars I've been to. And the staff were genuinely lovely. I can definitely see myself coming oback here and create new memories over coffee and a dessert or two.

For a brunch brekky and catchup, we both wanted to try an amazing cafe in Strathfield, so after a lot of Instagram stalking, we went to Chef’s Palette! I chose the big breakfast, which came with two hash browns, avocado, sauteed mushrooms, sourdough bread, a chorizo sausage and baked tomato. It also usually comes with bacon but i ordered mine without! It was so tasty – the hash browns perfectly crispy and the sausage well cooked. It was nice to have fresh avocado on the plate as well, and the bread was delicious.
Been here twice already. Had the chefs palette breakfast and all other 6 dishes we had were portionful and delicious. Well worth the price at the heart of Strathfield. Service cant be faulted they do notice 1 hour limit when busy. However take away one star as second time I had the pancake it was too floury and stiff. Better go for their savoury options!
Been to this restaurant multiple times, ordering lots of variety of dishes. Delicious and very accommodating staff. Only downside is the "King prawn pasta" dish can come out fishy at times, but otherwise would definitely recommend!

Cool little cafe situated right outside the Strathfield Plaza next door to Oliver Brown/Oportos, this little cafe has indoor and outdoor seating and is a great place for coffee and deserts as they have a good variety of cakes. Highly recommend the Earl Grey cheese cake. Coffee is good and atmosphere is calm and chill, can definitely have a conversation in there. Parking in Strathfield plaza would be the closest, otherwise off street parking is a bit difficult to find.
Great little gem. Food was great, bacon and egg burger double, all on a baguette, and the coffee was delicious. I love the different types of foods available for the lunch menu. Pastas look awesome. Will have to come again to try more dishes.
This cafe has a great atmosphere and is perfect for setting up a laptop / bringing a book to read or coming in with friends to share a meal with coffee. Staff here are extremely pleasant and they make great coffee which is consistent.
The only downside is that thr Cafe does close a bit early so if you are visiting make sure you have enough time if you are going in the afternoon!
