Not a bad place for Korean BBQ ... Stumbled across this place because I didn't want to wait at Jang Ta Bal. Meat was not too bad but Abit pricey and the Jap chae was $20 bucks. Overall not bad, I love it because it's cooked on charcoal.
Meat quality is above average, service is very good and the atmosphere is good, especially on the outside tables. I highly recommend visiting to hwang ga
Came here with a bunch of friends for dinner. I've been to many KBBQ restaurants in Strathfield but I can confidently say that they offer the best quality of meat, especially their beef which were incredibly juicy and tasty. The staff were attentive and tried their best to cater our needs. Loved the Korean interior also, which was an extra touch. Would definitely come again.
Had my birthday event here with a about 12 other people. Let me start by saying, all the banchan was pre-prepaired on the table for us as we arrived in, which was a nice little touch! The restaurant also has no time limit so we can stay for as long as we want, no annoying call-outs (bonus). So we basically ordered BBQ and side dishes, the quality of all the food was superb. Service was very attentive, they have a bell which is more efficient. Overall, although it is a bit costly, I would still go here again :)
Just another KBBQ place in Strathfield.
There's not much about this place that stands out however meat was fresh and decently priced. Side dishes were also pretty good (i enjoyed them).
Staff are welcoming and efficient.
I'd come back here.
Good food! Service was decent, had an enjoyable time here with friends. Prices are decent for a good amount of delicious meat. Food came out quite quickly, and the staff attended to our needs as best as possible. Will most likely come back in the future!
Compared to other Korean BBQs Hwang Ga is more on your pricier side. This is due to them offering higher quality meat that most standard Korean BBQs do not. Their servings sizes are similar and dishes come out very quickly. The restaurant is quite busy on the weekend so I would recommend you get in early. The service is very efficient and there's always staff running around to help you out. I personally don't mind paying a little more for better quality beef so I definitely recommend Hwang Ga.
The BBQ was great but didn't like other dishes (even the rice was very soggy). Decent price, and the service was alright-ish. Not the friendliest staff but not rude as well. I will definitely visit again for the BBQ as the meat was very tasty and juicy.
Just your average Korean BBQ place.
The meat was decent quality and reasonably priced. The side dishes were also very enjoyable.
Service was also good and staff were welcoming and friendly.
All in all, a good Korean BBQ place.
I'd come back again some time in the near future.

Strathfield has sooo many Korean bbq places so it's often hard to choose.
This place has good food but the service can be a little bit slow. I recommend you order the 꽃살 which is highly marbled beef short rib pieces and then finish off with some refreshing naengmyeon.
Extremely pleasant staff, very nice to our group I went with (maybe since some were Korean), a bit lacking in English speaking though. The food itself was excellent, I'll be coming back here a lot especially for those side dishes! There are so many and for the first time in any Korean restaurant I've been to, there was a spicy raw squid banchan! Now that's quality.
It's a pity you can't order lunch menu items for dinner because then I feel dinner options become quite limited. I guess I'll need to swing by here for lunch then!
Our dining experience at Hwang Ga was fantastic! The service was very efficient, our waiter was polite and attentive. The menu is reasonably priced and they had a substantial selection of BBQ meats. We had the scotch fillet and the wagyu chuck tail, quite juicy considering the scotch was a bit thicker than usual. The sides are pretty good as well especially the eggplant and the radish. We weren't expecting much from this place when we came here to eat, but we were surprised!
Side dishes were fantastic particularly the eggplant and service was great. Nice ambience (new restaurant), good selection of BBQ meat including a wagyu selection. Had the scotch fillet and wagyu chuck tail - sublime, with a great range of condiments. Overall, a very nicely done, solid Korean BBQ restaurant experience - 4.5/5.
Had the Soft Tofu Stew with Rice aka sundubu jjigae. While the stew was rather average, the banchan side dishes they offer are great and plentiful. Standouts were an excellent eggplant stewed in a sweet soy and sesame oil sauce, the kimchi was good for restaurant quality and they also did a spicy raw squid side dish, which you almost never see.For $13 it was a very filling and value for money meal. Won't be back for the stew but will be back to check out more of the menu purely on the strength of their side dishes.
Hubby and I randomly decided to eat here on a Monday night, surprisingy very busy, we waited for an hour which was fine.
We ordered the wagyu lover set. The meat was very delicious and buttery, very satisfied with the meal. The staff very attentive and polite. Bottomless refills of their side dishes, really enjoyed the chest nut jelly and fish cakes!
We liked it so much we came back the following week and ordered the wagyu set. That was even better.
We also brought our families here too and they loved it. Our go-to korean bbq place now.
1st time here and loved the atmosphere it was a busy night the staff were attentive to all tables fresh meats and tasty dishes a bit over priced that’s for sure .
First Korean BBQ, we decided to go there after the place we originally intended across the street were very rude to us.
This place was amazing. Thank you to the staff for being so welcoming and showing us how to grill the meat and vegetables and also to the owner helping us navigate the steps with our son in a pram (even though the owner had a shoulder injury).
The food was so good. Meat was so tender and all the sides were perfect. Would go again! Seemed authentic and staff are so lovely.
This restaurant is good value for money. They have this fish roe soup which was always amazing. Their dishes and plates are cleaned properly. I just wish they have a bigger dinner menu rather than just BBQ. Bbq is nice in winter but not really in summer. They offer other dishes for lunch only. They should have those dishes for dinner too.
