Won jo is one of the KBBQ I always go to back in the University days! It's an old favourite! I love their meat! Such fresh and good quality meat to cook it up on the bbq! And their side dishes!
Great korean restaurant in strathfield that stands out with its red tables, booth seating and higher price point dishes. Hotpot has a good broth and rich flavour. Meat is well seasoned and fresh with nice wrapping ingredients. Good tasty variety of side dishes. Service is prompt
Was nice dining here. It was my first time to eat here. Just ordered 2 bbq meats and rice with my friend. Was warm inside so it was great considering the windy weather.
Came here for lunch on sunday. There’s kbbq and normal food, so definitely something for everyone.
We got steam egg, stir fry pork and spicy braised short rib. The side dishes came quick, but the pork stiry fry took significantly longer than other dish.
The braised pork is sweet and big in portion, however it is a bit tough- not to bite but fibrous, meat get stuck in teeth very easily. The stew is soupy but it’s perfect with rice.
The pork stiry fry is enough for 2, and we did end up getting takeaway box home.
I came today to have the lunch special which changes daily (available weekdays) and is incredibly affordable! With the bibimbap, I also had unlimited side dishes with my personal favourite being candied yams. Would definitely recommend coming during lunch time. I’ve been here for kbbq dinners and it’s always good too.
the most vegan friendly korean restaurant in strathfield. i very much appreciate the fact that the menu has little broccolis (trees???) next to their vegan dishes. it makes it 1000x easier for vegans to pick out a good meal, rather than playing the guessing game.
i’ve tried both the mushroom/tofu bibimbap dishes, as well as the sundubu. all three dishes were nice but pretty average. the bibimbap dishes were laden with sesame oil so it made me feel a bit sluggish afterwards.
otherwise, i am very appreciative of the broccolis on the menus and because of this, although the food is not something i would find myself craving often, won jo will always be my go-to korean restaurant in strathfield. 🥦
Won Jo is one of my favourite Korean restaurants in Strathfield. I’ve tried their BBQ, hotpot, fried chicken, hot stone soups as well as lunch specials. I have enjoyed everything, although I think Seoul Project does better pork trotter, but still love this place.
Probably the oldest Korean restaurant in Strathfield. Went there one day for BBQ. The kimchi was for free and could be added at any time. But not for the kimchi pancake. The kimchi pancake was delicious and huge, so it is better to save for the last. Beef hot pot was great, the beef was tender and the sauce was savory. The barbecue of seafood was just average but it turned out amazing for the ox tongue. However the fried chicken tastes disappointing, with little taste crisp.
Big queue but worth the wait. Friendly staff, prompt service and delicious food and beverage. My mum love their plum wine, and we love anything marinated. Will comeback again :)
Favorite kbbq, tied with wagyuhouse !! Meat is excellent here especially the wagyu tho I must say the 3 per dish limit on side dishes (which all taste amazingggg) is a lil disappointing but what can ya do... anyways the sets are pretty good value for money and the ambiance is always really lively, customer service is adequate
Expect it to be busy, long lines, especially during weekend nights.
The jajangmyun, kimchi jiggae and bossam is really good here! Always come back for their jajangmyun. Fried chicken is a miss- basic but wouldn't come here for KFC.
Good korean food
My new fav go to bbq place for groups and the like. Their appeal over other joints like jtb is the set meals on offer including Meat platter+hot pot of choice + seafood pancake + noodle stir fry. We had 4 people, worked out $35ish each.
The marinates are not too sweet and the bulgogi and mushroom hot pot is potent and moorish. But book ahead. It’s packed out all the time

Ordered combination A for 2 (which is easily enough for 3 people) of beef and pork, everything tasted good except for the pork belly. Would be good if they will serve more authentic korean side dishes and sauce.
I come here for good Korean food. I love how they have tables that have covers because it feels cosy and private. The service is alright. The food is delicious, they serve you a large portion which is great and worth the price. Would recommend this place!
Great food, it was delicious and portion was plentiful. Service was prompt and they responded to us well even though it was a very busy night. Would definitely come back.
This place had great customer service and the tables were nicely separated so we could eat in private without it being too noisy. We ordered spicy rice cakes dukbokki and two meats- bulgogi and marble beef. The rice cakes were a good portion. The bulgogi was well marinated and the marble beef was really smooth and tender. The price was alright considering it was kbbq. What I really liked about this place was that it offered so many side dishes and korean side dishes are my absolute favourite when it comes to kbbq! The more side dishes there are, the more impressed i am! 😊

Authentic Korean Traditional Soup Restaurant in Sydney Strathfield.
Visited this place first thing I arrived in Sydney, food was great, reminded me of my food back at hometown.
Their soup was clearly rich, probably took longer than a day to prepare the stock.
They weren’t shy about chucking in heaps meat in the soup too.
This soup is best for hangover!
Everything was exact just to satisfy my korean bbq cravings! We went around 7 and it was pretty packed but that did not affect the service at all. We got all our servings quickly and staff was helpful when needed. All the meat was fresh and delicious with all the sides being endless and tasteful as well!
Among the food that we ordered, we liked the potato noodle and leek pancake. The sweet chili chicken were nice but we find the fried chicken dry. I wish they have wet wipes for cleaning hands.
One of my favourite Korean BBQ places to visit in Strathfield. Ordered the combination B plate and the meat was of good quality. We also ordered the raw beef tartare salad which was amazing with the dressing. Only downside is it is slightly on the pricey side but definitely worth it if you want good Korean BBQ
definitely one of the busier kbbq spots. located in strathfield it is always packed even on a monday night. the servings and quality of food is top notch. quite disappointed by the steamed egg this time because it was quite dry but it may have been a one off thing.
disappointed by the yoghurt soju, tasted quite weird. but all in all, still great.
Great staff! They're so friendly and always come rushing to cook for you haha. The meat is really fresh and decent serving sizes! If you get the $25pp set you'll definitely be rolling out of the restruarant
One of the more busier korean joints and i can see why. Service was attentive, food was pretty good and the ambience was lively. I particularly liked their half sz boneless chicken, garlic soy flavour $18. The black bean noodles $10 are a miss, its too soft. Good chicken cutlet $15.5 and beef bulgogi $16.5 was nice also. Wont mind coming back.
Really good extensive menu and good service. Definitely, recommend the teriyaki chicken as it's fried chicken with teriyaki sauce on top, we ordered the bbq ox tongue & bulgogi which came with a special corn & cheese special bbq side dish and so much ban chan (entree side dishes!).
It was so much food for 2 people & only cost us $32 each! So good! Keen to get back there for more bbq!
They were also good at swapping over the bbq plates often so they didnt burn and smell.
One of my favourite Korean restaurant in Strathfield. It's very popular and you usually have to wait outside for a while if you come here after 7PM.
Although the restaurant is famous for the BBQ, there're a great variety of Korean food to choose from. {Beef Stew Soup} comes in a hot stone bowl. The soup is not spicy, and instead pretty tasty. The beef is super soft and is a bit juicy.
We also tried their BBQ. If you don't feel like reading the menu they have many set menu to choose. You can always find a set menu that is suitable. And I would recommend ordering this because you get to try different kind of meat.
You need to cook the meat by yourself. So it is a good choice to go with friends. The lettuce and dipping are free and it's free to ask for more.
However it's always noisy. But it is the same as other majority of Korean restaurants.
Came here for the cheesy dduk bok gi with my girlfriend and I'm amazed at how much we ordered. We even ordered the rice cake as well and it made me so full even those im lactose, but it was still worth the experience to try!
Love the fried chicken here- especially the sweet and spicy. We got a half n half plate with that and the original- which was a little plain. Their cheesy ddebokki was also great and fast service

Had their BBQ today and the meats were sensational! Especially the marbled wagyu😍 .. the ox tongue was not as expected tho.
They have daily lunch special too like for example today the seafood tofu soup with rice is only $11.50 instead of $16 :) the staffs were helpful and attentive. And they have good exhaust system too!

Won Jo has lunch specials which makes many of their dishes very affordable on certain days. Include the free unlimited side dishes and your meal is even more worth your money. I particularly like their bean sprouts and sweet potato side dishes but there’s something for everyone. Their dishes are well done, satisfying and generally well-priced even if you don’t get lunch specials. They also do Korean BBQ if you’re really craving meat but try their pork bone stew, it’s a favourite of my friend.
Steamed egg soup (3.5/5): So fluffy and came out really fast! There was nothing special about this soup but it was still enjoyable. Can't go wrong with fluffy egg!
Vegetable rice cake (4/5): The rice cakes were cooked perfectly - loved the soft but slightly chewy texture and the sauce it was in was the perfect amount of sweet and spicy.
Would return here to try more food :)
Set A for 4 people ($138) was enough for my group of 6, which was really worth it. The kimchi hotpot was delicious and definitely my favourite. Enough food as there were several additional sides. Definitely would return here when I'm craving Korean BBQ😋.
Its a bit pricy compared to other korean restaurants but it’s worth it! The korean fried chicken here is really good, this is my go to restaurant for late night eats!
Won jo was the first place where I tried Korean cuisine just over 5 years ago. Now, it remains as one of my favourite Korean restaurants/ bbq places as food is here is amazing for decent prices. Best tteokbokki! The only reason why I didn’t give a 5 Star rating is that there are now less side dishes served and we had to constantly ask for water refill. Regardless, I would still return here in the future.
I have been here once before and the quality is great compared to other Kbbq places in Strathfield.
I ordered the Bulgogi (marinate is great!) and the pork belly (good) and there was a total of around 7 side dishes (A+ quality) and a the waiters gave us a complimentary hot plate corn and cheese side dish!
Love it love it! Will keep coming back and trying out other dishes!
Note: This place is busy on weekends so I would suggest booking beforehand or come early as there is a line outside.
I found Won Jo to be clean and quick, friendly and affordable. $16.50 got me a good sized bibimbap, with soup and accompaniments. Food quality seems fine too
Came here for the first to try it out. Great experience! Food came out quickly and was very tasty. We had the lunch specials and awesome value for money.
Will definitely be favourited for next korean craving.
Pleasantly surprised! Solid side dishes - 5/6 even though I was dining by myself. The tofu soup was awesome, slightly more exxy than neighbouring restaurants but very well worth it (the wooden bowl next door isn't great!)
It was my first time here and I was sure impressed. My friends and I were immediately seated upon arrival and were given side dishes and drinks. We ordered the half and half chicken, Napa wraps with pork and the seafood pancake.
The half and half chicken was made up of half a serving of regular fried chicken and half a serving of sweet chilli covered chicken. I really enjoyed the original flavour as it was peppery and delicious! The chicken was tender and juicy!
Napa wraps and pork was a first for me! You basically get a piece of lettuce and place some of the red thing (I have no idea what it is) and a heated piece of pork. And in one bite, there it goes. Mouth watering!
The seafood pancake did not meet my expectations. I expected a crisper and less dense pancake but got something unique and different. This restaurant’s seafood pancake had a range of seafood in it including baby oysters, calamari, prawns and many more. But it was too dense for my personal liking.
we ordered a 4 people meal set, everything is excellent!!! love the taste of hotpot and fried chicken. Also, the quantity they provide is a lot, absolutely worth it to try
Food Is Really Great
+4.5
Everything about this place is good! The bibimbaps have a variety of fresh ingredients inside, and theres so much variety in the menu too including mushroom, or beef with egg. The tofu stew is really good for cold weather too, although just a heads up, even the “less spicy” option is still spicy 🔥
We always have korean BBQ in WonJo.Its my favorite BBQ restaurant in syd!The meat is so tender especially the wagyu!I love meat!😋😋😋😋😋😋😋
One of my favourite places to go to for kbbq as they never let me down. The staff are super friendly and sometimes even help me out when it's not too busy. I love to come here as I always get good value for money and the atmosphere is vibrant. I highly recommend Wonjo for any size group of guests!
First time coming here and I was surprised with the many varieties they had on the menu. The meat was flavoursome and tender. Would come back to try other items on the menu 👍
My favourite place for Korean food in Strathfield!
Been here several times and have been consistently pleased with the food. Love their fried chicken - especially with the sweet/spicy and garlic/soy sauce - it's juicy crunchy, well seasoned, plus it's all boneless! Side dishes are tasty and generous too.
It's always packed out on Saturday nights so would recommend coming here early!
Good value for money, short wait for tables & quick service. Food is delicious whether you decide for Korean BBQ or go for other food items on the menu
Friends and I went after BTS concert, it was so busy but the wait wasn't long at all and the food came out really fast w/ great service from workers! If u go with a group of friends , you wouldn't even be able to finish the sets! They're so big and delicious, so worth it
Came at lunch time last week. This place has a good assortment of banchan. Did feel a little rushed by the staff however the food was very tasty. The meat and vegies in the dishes tasted very fresh and the waiter had good English and was helpful in offering suggestions
This restaurant is alwasy crowded.
Fried chicken with sweet sauce is so yummy.
Wagyu beef and belly pork are good as well.
I like kimchi - mushroom soup.
One of the best Korean BBQ places I have been to. The beef they serve is absolutely delicious! Service is very good and the workers are nice :)
The first time trying this KBBQ place and I can already say that this could possibly be my favourite Korean BBQ place! The service was quick and great. Staff members were very friendly and helpful. Food was reasonably priced and was delicious. I would definitely come back for a second time. I recommend trying this KBBQ out if you're looking for a nice and casual restaurant in Strathfield.
Such a yummy kbbq restaurant in the heart of Strathfield! Although prices are a bit high, it is good to go with 4+ people so that you can invest in the set menu which is extremely filling and delicious 😊
Feeling quite hungry, and also the intense craving of Korean BBQ, we arrived at Wonjo with our sights set on the Set A meal deal. There was not a long wait needed for the food to arrive as it was relatively quick, considering how busy the store was when we were eating. Our table was loaded with dishes!!!
• We chose to eat the 'Ramen and Sausage' hotpot which was a massive dish of mushrooms, green leafy vegetables, rice cake, kimchi, spam, sausages and shredded carrots.
• The stir fried noodles were quite nice and were imbued the essence of sesame oil. The side dishes were amazing! I particularly enjoyed the corn and cheese side dish.
• As we were grilling the meat, the plate was often changed by the attentive waiters when they saw that the meat which was stuck to the plate had gathered up.
• Overall, despite its 'busyness', the service was quite fast and the waiters were really friendly, and the food was delicious!
The food was great. The portions are pretty good. However, service could be a bit better. Some waiters were giving us dirty eyes when we wanted to sit further away from the doors because we were really cold. Wasn't quite sure why because there was nothing different between the tables closer to the door and the tables further from the door.
When we wanted to order, one of the managers were really rude when asked if we could order a soju. He strongly kept rejecting even wjen we asked why. However, another waiter came and explained to us the situation that because it was almost 9.40pm and we could order soju but however whether we finished or not they would have to remove it. Which was more reasonable.
There was a lot to like with Won Jo. I didn’t know about this, but apparently they have two branches in Strathfield, and it was certainly needed as they were full at 6:30pm. The staff were nice and actually walking the customers to the other branch, although just as we were about to follow, a table for six opened up so we could stay.
Staff continued to be helpful and efficient all round. I was eating vegan during the time I went so had a lot of questions and requests for pretty much everything. No one got annoyed and one girl even rushed back to apologise because she had mistakenly told me there was no egg in a side dish. It was nice to see everyone being really accommodating, it just makes eating out that much more enjoyable. Although I am pretty sure a big reason for this was the clear communication with them as I also speak Korean (I know this firsthand from all the struggles at restaurants where English is not the first language).
Ordered quite a number of things; avocado salad, leek pancake, kimchi pancake (twice!), mushroom bibimbap, soft tofu soup, jja jjangmyun (black bean noodles, which surprisingly had no meat), prawn dumplings, and fried chicken. Along with some delicious soju concoctions; one lemon one and the other was cucumber!
First things first, the kimchi pancake needs a special mention. It was seriously one of the best, if not THE best kimchi pancake I have had at a restaurant. The first one was so perfectly crispy and ridiculously delicious, we all jumped on it right away and ordered a second. It wasn’t as good (just needed to be cooked for a few seconds longer though) but it was still BOMB. Yes please, to this pancake, YES PLEASE.
Leek pancake wasn’t too bad either, I think some actually preferred it over the kimchi. Maybe. I don’t know how, but maybe.
Everything else was pretty good too. I tried the noodles, soft tofu stew, and salad as well. The salad was actually the surprise here, because you tend to not expect much from a Korean restaurant when it comes to a simple salad, but it was really nice. Prawn dumplings were apparently average.
Also, now have a newfound love for lemon soju. What did they doooo to it? Lemonade/sprite + soju is just not the same.
Went here with my friends for lunch. Food was great, the service was fast and The price is decent. Both of the fried chicken and the bbq were good👌🏼
I usually come here whenever JTB is busy and they're both on par with each other. Won Jo has more variety which is nice when you're after something other than meat dishes
Quick lunch passing through since I was craving Korean sides. They have quite a wide variety of rice dishes/soup to choose from, but didn't try their kbbq. Stone pot bibimbap with beef and egg-$16.50. I love how it came in a sizzling bowl, which made the bottom bits of rice nice and crunchy. Good serving size with a variety of fresh veggies. I'm glad I got normal beef instead of bulgogi since you can use the side dishes to give the rice/beef flavour. I can appreciate how people flavour their rice by eating it with kimchi. I guess this kimchi wasn't too spicy if I could eat it (or my chilli tolerance has increased lol).
I had an epic craving for tteokbokki (Korean rice cake) so based on another blogger's advice (all about food blog), I went to Won Jo in Strathfield. I head there on a Friday night where it's actually quite busy. I can smell a lot of BBQ meats so I gathered that this place is primarily a Korean BBQ place. It smells delicious and everyone around me seems to be enjoying themselves. Every few tables has a bit of privacy with these little walls. For full review including photos, go to blog post
My go to place when I want Korean fried chicken
Hands down, the best sweet n spicy fried chicken out there. No bones, just a good amount of chicken and sauce. Always on point 👌🏼
Service is good and the prices reasonable.
Always satisfied here
Showtime ✌🏼
Won Jo is in my opinion, a really reliable place in Strathfield to get a Korean food feed. They have a menu abundant of choices from kbbq to rice and stews, lots of seating, and efficient service. Their fried chicken is always crunchy and delicious, being one of my main recommendations. On this visit we also tried their kimchi stew and bossam (boiled pork wraps). Both while not the best were really satisfying!
We were eager for more Korean food after trying budae jjigae for the first time. Being quite inexperienced when it comes to Korean cuisine, we jumped at the opportunity when our friend, Chaky, invited us to scout Strathfield out for dinner. We ended up at the local favourite Won Jo which, funnily enough, we had visited before for the bibimbap.
Great service. Delicious meat and fried chicken, with other side dishes and hotpot. Just OK pricing so sharing is better, one of the better K-BBQ places in Strathfield.
I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of service and food at Won Jo Korean BBQ in Strathfield. The meat was fresh and not too fatty and pretty tasty. The restaurant is small but long with booth seating that fits four to six small people at most in each booth. Ideal for small groups of people.
second visit with a group of friends, loved it.
Good atmosphere and awesome place for a late work dinner, or just a catch up with friends.
Made a vist to won jo
(because next door was closed)
They service was really good.
The serving size for the price I thought was a bit small.
Meat quality was good.
