Excellent establishment, good service great coffee and fantastic food, if you like whitting try their whiting baguette if on the menu.

This fairly new cafe is absolutely fabulous. Superb coffee, breakfasts, lunches and sweet delights. All made locally with flair. Gorgeous garden room and tables under the verandah on this corner of what was an old pub. Style and charm - a pleasant stop on your way elsewhere or a daily treat whilst staying in this lovely town. Beautiful giftwares and florist as well.
While wandering the streets of Streaky we stumbled across this funky little place! Coffee is amazing, baked cheesecake even better! Garden room is lovely and warm especially on a chilly day like today! Pity we are only here for one night. Looking forward to breakfast tomorrow! Keep up the great work! #supportthelocals

So here I was in Streaky Bay as part of my family’s 12 month adventure around Australia and my wife had a craving for Oysters. We all know that oysters have an amazing impact on the libido so “Who am I to deny my wife that?”
We made our way to a fish monger who does fish and chips every now and then hoping he might do us some oysters as well. Unfortunately for us it wasn’t an “every now and then” day. However he directed us to a café in town that may have oysters, The Bay Funktion. Unfortunately they were yet to open their oyster bar.
This is an amazing little café found in Streaky Bay! The garden room is quirky and cool, the food is superbly cooked and the service friendly.
My meal was the King George Whiting and chips with a garden side salad and it was exceptionally cooked. The fish melted in my mouth and filled my taste buds with essence of the sea, it felt like Mermaids massaging my tongue into delicious salty bliss. The chips were thick and chunky, how I like my sailors *wink *wink “Hello Sailor”. And the garden salad was fresh with zesty marinade, they made my head go PING!
The staff were so nice that they let us sample one of the oysters from their suppliers on that day as my wife really wanted to try a fresh oyster. This was an unexpected nice surprise from the staff and this what it means to go above and beyond.
If you are in Streaky Bay and it’s after Xmas, then I think the oyster bar will be open, but whether your wife has a craving for oysters or you just want so good food with good service head on down to the Bay Funktion café.
Food was presented sensationally - and tasted amazing too. Mains - duck leg with a great tasty salad (greens and pearl barley) and my accomplice had flathead with kumara wedges.
Bay Funktion is an amazing place to eat in Streaky Bay. The food is interesting and very delicious. The staff friendly and welcoming. Look forward to returning very soon.
Bay Funktion has gotten even better since my last visit. They still have the cool outdoor garden which is misted in hot weather and they still have great coffee but their meals have gone up a notch. They are generous serves and reasonably priced. They also have homewares available and there are some really cool things there.
Really nice cafe with a great vibe serving top notch coffee. Service was friendly and the courtyard was super cosy to enjoy some down time. We didn’t eat but menu sounded tasty. Interesting selection of gifts inside too.
Great coffee, food and gifts. Amazing selection of light lunch foods such as baguettes, ciabatta, focaccia, homemade sausage rolls etc. Make sure you check out the garden room out the back. Very trendy atmosphere. No newspapers is the only negative.
Great brunch. Had a breakfast wrap and corn fritters with seasoned fries. All tasty
