San Churros is a very popular dessert place. A simple deep fried batter dipped in various types of sweet sauces is simply delicious.
••• Ruby Chocolate Dip: This was a big hype but it tasted a bit off. Personally, it wasn’t my cup of tea. The colour is beautiful though!
••• White Chocolate Dip: If you are a fan of white chocolate this is the best dip for you obviously. Very yum.
••• Churros for two: This set gets you 6 churros. We didn’t finish it. It doesn’t look much at the start but it does fill you up.
~~~ Must try: Drop & Choc Drink
Always love the churros here, crispy outside and soft inside, generous serves of sauces and delicious milkshakes! Friendly staff and always lots of places to sit.
We came here to have churros for take away with dark chocolate and milk chocolate dipping sauce. Service was friendly and quick. It was a nice treat and satisfied our cravings.
had to give a good review of this place. the staff here are so friendly and accomodating! admittedly, i used to dislike the coffee, but i had one of the best in a while here. sure there's not a great deal of atmosphere, but i'm very happy with the service and quality despite it being a chain cafe !
Can't go wrong with coming to San Churros for a chocolate fix. This branch is smaller than the Northbridge and Vic Park ones, but standard and quality of their desserts and drinks are just as good.
Had the Bananas for Pretzels for the first time; a good dessert but nothing spectacular. I think we still prefer having our churros served the classic way, plain on their own and dipped in little pots of melted couverture chocolate, rather than having them 'dressed' with different toppings and drizzles of chocolate/caramel. Coffee was a little disappointing, but smoothies and hot chocolate were done well.
Our most recent visit was on a birthday, and was treated to a free birthday churro. It's generous, churros for two. We also ordered coffees and enjoyed the chocolate that comes with it.
I've been here heaps for hot and colds (Spanish hot chocolate with scoop of White choc ice cream) They always taste good from the subi shop - perfect temperature and "ice cream to hot chocolate ratio"
Churros is always a yummy after dinner dessert and everything on the menu looks so amazing. I got the classic Churros for Two with the milk chocolate and Spanish caramel dipping sauce. Out of the caramel sauces, i'm more a fan on the salted caramel just because of the salty taste. It was quiet at around 6.45 but slowly got a bit busier.
I went here recently for a coffee, but was quickly enticed into a hot chocolate. Very enjoyable - even in the heat of Summer.
I've also been here in the Winter with my nephews,& we had the Churros with chocolate sauce. Delicious. A treat for the sweet-tooth!
We visit this place atleast twice a month. Hot churros is a delight and the staff is also very nice. A very convenient location. Other dishes like wifeys favourite volcano cake with ice cream are also good. Calorie intake is the only reason not to go there often :).
Best San churro out there! Churros are always hot/delicious. Staff are all Spanish or Brazilian but all are exceptionally friendly and polite!!! Do not miss a beat :)
Always love coming to san churro - regardless of the branch as they all offer same quality and standard which is awesome! You can always expect great dessert, friendly staffs, and busy atmosphere!
Tried the new Filled Churros this time which is a bit dissappointing. For one, stingy filling! You would
get more filling if you buy normal churros and dip them. They should have filled more chocolate because at the end you have chunk of plain churro.
Two, it is a bit hard in my opinion (compared to normal churros). I would stick with normal churros to be honest.
Please note that while the filled churros probably get my rating of 2.5 out of 5, I will still rate the store 3.5 because overall it is great place to hang out and enjoy something sweet!
This place isn't as good as it's leederville branch, but still up there😊 I ordered the same banana and salted caramel funnel cake because I loved it so much in leederville, and it wasn't crispy on the outside, and the chocolate sauce was clumped in the middle causing the funnel cake to go soggy. It's a very hit and miss place, as another time I went, the funnel cake was light and crispy and the cake was smothered in nutella and salted caramel! It was perfect!! I guess it depends who makes it... 4.0 from me!!
It's a chain. And I have rated it for the Northbridge branch so on the taste doesn't change I still love it. However the attitude of the staff is really different. The owner is actually really friendly and enjoyable to chat with and that has made me willing to go back for some more take away. That had to be said ! The picture is the classic (and thick) Spanish hot choc !
The dark hot chocolate was very good and not too sweet. We didn't try the Churros but my friend had the flourless chocolate mud cake and loved it.
It's a chic outlet. Love to have morning or afternoon tea there. It's an option to have a cuppa and dessert after lunch/dinner. For cold drink my favorite is mango smoothie.
Cappuccino with real chocolate flakes that sink to the bottom so at the end you get a mouthful of melted chocolate. My friends rave about the hot chocolate. Churros with dulce de leche was delicious and churros were not overly sweet. Excellent chocolate truffles, make a nice gift.
Very busy on a Friday night and had to line up to order but service was efficient and considering the crowds of people quick. Unfortunately our drinks were not up to the usual standard of this chain of cafés and were lukewarm, so disappointing. The churros were tasty, the chocolate dips were yummy but unfortunately the caramel dip was overheated and separated.
Very friendly and polite staff
Our favourite San Churros shop. Service can be a bit hit and miss but it's always polite - you cant expect 5 star service when the place is run by students after all. Food is yummo across all San Churros shops but Subi has the edge for us as it has way more seating capacity than Leederville (tiny) or Freo (always looks dirty). Our faves are the churros (of course) and spanish hot choc. They have a growing gluten-free menu as well which is a bonus for coeliacs.
After meal. Wonderful hot chocolate with halzenut flavour!! I'd really like to try one of the cakes but I was too full!! Next time! :D
Great hot chocolate!!. Awesome hot chocolate and nice service!!
Good. Food and service have been consistently good when I've been there.
Pity about the shoebox it's crammed into, though. Hardly any room to move.
So DELICIOUS!. I just love the churros! They remind me of being in California! This is my new favourite guilty pleasure - The staff are always friendly no matter how busy it looks in there! I can't recommend it enough!
Consistently great. I took my wife there after a disgusting lunch a jus-burger next door today. I had Spanish Classic hot chocolate (very rich), she had the milk hot chocolate (milder). We shared Churros for Two with dark chocolate sauce and caramel sauce. Hot chocolates were exactly as we'd had them before (the spanish classic is very rich, and maybe not for everyone), and as always were delicious. The churros too were light and crispy, and the sauces were perfect. Spot on - always a great spot to take the missus for a treat.
Winter paradise. I went to San Churro in Subiaco on Foundation Day, the place was packed but the service was amazing. The person at the till was smiling and helped me loads; I didn't know exactly what I wanted and even though they were really busy she still took her time to go through the menu with me. I was with my boyfriend and we decided to order one Choc Banana Sundae and a Tres Chocolate pudding with couple of coffees. Considering how packed the place was, we were served in really reasonable time and the food was amazing; really rich; really decadent and well presented.... I will definitely go back there
Loved the churrios and the platter!!yummy..
Halal churros. Churros were good, have to remember it is fried so dont complain about feeling greasy afterwards. fiesta was worth it with all the choices of dips. had our churros half cinnamon, half icing sugar. good for a chocolate fix. nice atmosphere and good service. fried in vegetable based oil. dessert menu not halal certified. will be back to try the truffles.
Loved it but didnt feel very clean. Loved the churros but as a churro lover from childhood in the southern USA, they were a little bit skinny and dry, and needed more cinnamon sugar. Still, overall very good. My only real complaint is the place felt grubby and needed a good clean. Staff seemed uninterested in service...
This place seems to be one of very few places open after 9pm. Service is good and churros are yummy.
Yummo. Cosy little venue, gets very busy. The churros are just delicious, we shared the plate for two with melted milk chocolate and the dulce de leche dipping sauces. I'm not usually a fan of caramel but the dulce de leche was delicious, rich and thick without being sickeningly sweet, we really enjoyed it. Partner said the coffee was good and they do a decent pot of tea. Very glad we finally stopped it tonight, my waist line probably isn't thanking me quite so much!
Don't get the coffee, save room for the churros!. The coffee I had here was bad. No sugar added but still too sweet. Blech.
The churros on the other hand, oh lordy me, they were goood. So crispy, so moreish. I highly, highly recommend the dulce de leche dipping sauce for maximum enjoyment.
Chocolate fix.. As a chocoholic I give the the thumbs up to San Churro.
A great little venue that can get a lil crowded, We started out with a hot chocolate which was amazing in everyway apart from being a little too sweet. It is a creamy silky smooth mix of warm milk and chocolate and would impress the most fussy of chocolate lovers. We also had a Bizcocho which was likewise as the drink amazing but slightly too sweet all in all a great place but I wouldn't risk it unless you class yourself as a chocolate fanatic!!
Worth my toothache. Love the hot chocolate but I wish they weren't all so sweet...
If the Incans had it bitter why can't we have that as an option?
The churros is divine but I do find the chocolate drinks way too rich, it's like drinking a from a chocolate fondue set. Go for the churros and give thanks to the incan gods for blessing the planet for this incredible bean!
I bought a yummy chocolaty mocha take away it was heaven in a paper cup. But $6.70 for the small serving?!? Won't be a regular.
Soooooooooooooooooooooooo good!!!!!!!
Jill. My favourite is the hot chocolate with chilli. I enjoy the fact it is like drinking melted chocolate not just hot milk with barely any flavour. There is also a restaurant located in Leederville. The staff here are very good and fast.
Like water for chocolate. (Title is a shameless book plug) Such arousing, piping hot churros. Dragged the boy to Subi for some afternoon/ evening churro delight. Cinnamon dusted churros pwn over the icing sugar coated ones in my opinion. Coffee was hot, beans were decent quality and a finish of grated chocolate on the top sent my heart a flamin'. Always seems busy, if you want to find a table I suggest bringing a stick to beat old women off.
Indulge.. Not exactly cheap, but yummy indulgence. Ultra slow service though.
Nice... but slow!!. Nice... and well known for the churros and hot chocolate but nothing like from spain! Don't know if they wanted to copy but they really have Australianized it! I guess that was disappointing for me because I had that expectation in mind! Also I thought it is very expensive... churros are really cheap to make! Service true... very very very slow...
For a couple of years, my friends have been raving about churros (which I can best describe as Spanish doughnut sticks)...Overall: treat yourself
Hubby was pleased with his coffee fix for the day while I washed down my churros with a pot of earl grey tea.
After a lovely date night dinner at Satsuki in Subiaco (post to follow in the next few days), A walked me over to the Chocolateria San Churros nearby for dessert. She ordered us a plate of strawberries and chocolate dipping sauce to share, as well as a hot chocolate. We arrived at close to 10pm on a Saturday evening and the place was still exceptionally busy. We found a table at the back and waited for our goodies.
Last night I was in Subiaco for dinner, so I decided to go to the San Churro there for dessert to satisfy my sweet tooth.
