Review Tastings Coffee House - Subiaco

We had a very enjoyable lunch there today. Lovely, polite service. Our salads were very nicely presented and not the 'out of the packet' as we have experienced elsewhere. Both of our quiches (different types) were hand made and tasty. As we are not coffee drinkers, we chose to have a pot of tea each. Such a pleasant surprise to have the cups heated. Thank you for such a nice experience.

Best tasting coffee I have had in years. Very friendly service, and reasonable price.

Polite staff and our omelettes were delicious that wasnt expected after our first impression when we entered, didnt have the feeling that we can have a hot breakfast.

Tasty food, great coffee! My Dad and I stopped here on the way to an appointment. My Dad thinks he was overcharged. That or their prices are just very high. Or Maybe that's just Subiaco? He paid $59 for 2 coffees, a takeaway potatoe bake, 1 slice of quiche (not served with anything else) and a small combo plate. He didn't tell me until later or I may have asked if it's was right. That aside, the food was very delicious. 😁

Nice little Cafe, our drinks were good but the food could be questioned. Macaroon was hard and old. Cannoli was soggy

Fantastic friendly service and a really yummy brunch! Good spot to sit outside and watch the world go by! Great cappuccino and long black with bacon, eggs and avo on toast & a spinach and feta omelette - Wholesome good cafe!! We will be back!

Slow service, stale food (bought macaroons and they were very old and hard) my salad was $10 for a tiny container. Big waste of money and time. Would not recommend

Dropped in for a late lunch after an interminably long business meeting in the area. Pretty sure the kitchen was closed, however, who we suspect was the owner was happy to rustle something up for us. Delicious roast beef with potato bake for moi, and cauliflower bake for my wife. Great ambience and reasonably priced. Going back for morning tea next time.

10/10 I've tried the lasagna, club sandwich and shepherds pie here so far and it's all been super tasty. Great food and excellent service always leaves me coming back for more!

I've been coming to the Tastings cafe for nearly 10 years and am part of the early morning 6.30 crew - retirees, painters, university lecturers, students, IT specialists, gardeners, walkers, accountants, lawyers, parents, Dockers, Eagles, Swans and Kangaroo fans...sometimes the rich and famous. Bill and George, the hosts, provide excellent coffee, homecooked tasty food and a place of lively banter and camaraderie. As Bill says 'livin the dream!'

Received the worst coffee of my life here. It was burnt and bitter. When I told the staff member, who appeared to be the owner, he said they didn't do refunds and it was my fault for not returning it quick enough. He then charged me $4.50 but upon paying he changed the amount to $12.50!! When I questioned it he snatched my $10 and slammed some change down on the counter. Rude and unprofessional will not be returning. Also, our chips were bland and unsalted. Maybe they should work on the quality of their food and coffees instead of hassling people from the moment they sit down in a bid to get them to order something. I recommend avoiding this place.

Don't go here! Coffee was TERRIBLE and bought chips which came with no salt on. Told staff about bad coffee and no apology was offered at all. Asked for a refund but was told they don't do refunds! Rudest staff and worst coffee. Will never come back they need to learn a lesson in customer service.

Deflated. The food was a bit deli standard, coffee burnt.

Ms Aoife O'Rielly. I saw an old guy on Bagot Road, handing out organ donor forms, just last Tuesday, he went on and on about the coffee he was drinking, decided I had to go across to Tasting's and try one so pleased I did, it was just absolutely delicious, just how I like it, very hot with a slightly burnt, nutty taste, loved the server, he was so helpful and very courteous, gotta say guys, you won me over, I'm hooked, cya pretty well everyday now.
Aoife

Mr Keith Eveson. Called in today, 23-5-2015. first time ever, I ordered a flat white coffee, to take away, I have no hesitation in saying, it was by far the best tasting coffee I've ever had, The service was second to none, extremely polite, and very helpful, whenever I am in Subiaco, this is the place for coffee. I give them 10 out of 10 on all counts.

Good smoked salmon and nacho. This place has an old Italian atmosphere, where everyone knows everyone. I have not tried the coffee, but I did try the nacho and bagels. Food are alright, came fresh, hot and quick. Though the temperature of the Salmon should be cooler than the room temperature...

Consistently pricey- ave food. Have gone here a couple of times due to the convenience of the location near my office- but have been consistently disappointed. Recently bought a small salad- $10.90! the container was not full and the salad was average- with the other options in the area I will not be back. colleagues have had similar experiences, certainly not a favourite in our Subi office.

Bad Experience. First time at this cafe. I expected a good coffee, but was treated to very bad coffee indeed: it tasted burnt, and was served boiling hot. Requested another cup, but it was the same. Rude staff didn't help.
If you are after a good coffee in Subi, give this place a miss.
Note: I rarely complain - but this was a bad experience.

If you're looking for a place for a cup of coffee, do not go here!! Haven't tasted the food which might be lovely, but the coffee is always too hot and burnt. I took my long macchiato back to get it re-made, and they brought back another which was so hot that I burnt my tongue! When I asked at what tem

Really impressed by this cafe, I had breakfast there with my two children. Food tasted excellent and looked great, I had a full cooked and the kids had pancakes. Coffee was perfect. Place has great feel, good mix of customers. The owner who serves is warm and happy to have a chat or leave you to enjoy the experience. When holidaying in Perth it is getting harder to find old fashioned service, I'll be returning for sure.

Can't say I agree with the other reviewers, coffee was poor, blueberries on pancakes were frozen. Owner was working hard to keep customers on side shoulda let food talk for him

Consistently fantastic. I love the instant good vibe you feel the minute you walk into Tastings. You can tell it is a family owned and run business because of the smiles on everyone's faces as they say hello to each other and the regulars. Don't under estimate the food here, you will be pleasantly surprised!

Tastings. I love TASTINGS COFFEE HOUSE in Subiaco .. It is the BEST cafe I have ever been to and in my time and travels have been to quite a few in Australia and overseas...
The 2 guys who own the cafe are so friendly and helpful, they know what you want before you even ask.. I have been there numerous times and I have to say that I have always had the BEST service and FOOD.
I love sitting outside on a sunny day with a coffee and just watching the hustle and bustle in Subiaco.. It is always busy which to me is a good sign and you just have to look at all the signed plates (from celebrities) on the wall to know how popular it is,, I have been there a few times when one or two celebrities have come in to order some food and coffee,,, They always greet the guy behind the counter by name so i am assuming they must go in regularly,,,It is value for money and I would never go anywheer else while in that area,, I absolutely love their Tuna melt and banana pancakes,,, it has the feeling of a cafe in Greece and if you close your eyes you can almost imagine that you are sitting at a cafe in Santorini or one oft he other Greek islands... Absolutely love it.. . Top marks boys and keep up the good work BigMama

Proof in the pudding!. It is only lately that I have heard people raving about Tastings Coffee House. I looked it up, didn't think much, but thought I would give a go because there are so many great comments about the place and it is family owned and run, which is always a nice vibe.

BAM - THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!! The buzz of Subiaco on its doorstep followed up by great coffee and staff. The food is to die for!! My favourites are the Tastings Burger and the banana pancakes, which are faultlessly presented. You know it is worth going back when you see regulars popping in and out saying hello to the staff as they grab their daily coffees and lunch.

FAULTLESS!
