This place makes decent coffee. the staff/ owners are great, honest people and I rather that then the fake customer service you get when you walk into a retail/ hospitality place.

There's always a personal feel to the service here, plenty of newspapers in the morning, and the coffee is excellent.
Love the quality ingredients and also the presentation of each dish.
Used to go here a lot and will be back soon! Definitely my favourite cafe in Subiaco Square.

Wanted to have something light and quick, I visited Louis Baxters Espresso for the first time. Noticing that they do Matcha Latte, cant help not to order it. The girl who served me was friendly. Unfortunately the Rueben Sandwich wasn't available today and she recommended jaffle instead. So I pick Ham & Cheese Jaffle. Jaffle was simple yet tasty, just need to cook a bit longer to give more colour (not important). The Matcha Latte wasn't bad at all. It's a bit grainy and you have to constantly stir undissolved powder at the bottom of the cup before drinking it. But at least it's hot, definitely can taste the matcha and got nice latte art too. One thing that excites me is that they sell Cocowhip! It's good to know that I don't have to drive far to get one. Will definitely come back when I crave for Cocowhip.

I have recently returned from melbourne for business, I live in the Subiaco area and decided to give this café a go, upon my entrance I was amazed by the industrial décor with unique artwork and gorgeous girls working there, the muffins made by the aforementioned staff member were worth travelling for, campos coffee was simply irresistible and I will recommend to my fellow coworkers to attend for an excellent coffee, a beautiful muffin and pretty girls that are easy on weary eyes.....Cheers all the best, see you in a bit.

Coffee Shop Stockholm Syndrome. I walk a fair distance through Subi to get my regular coffee and occasional canteen snack here. Because the coffee and food is always perfect, delicious and efficiently delivered. True dat. But look out below if anything goes wrong; you'll swiftly remember what's it's like sitting in the headmaster's office cowering with shame with just a hint of pee in your shorts. Don't worry, it doesn't even have to be your fault or make sense, just be prepared to take it on the chin and never again ask, allude to or forget to clarify whatever you tried to order that caused the rift in the space-cupping continuum of the baristaverse. All said, it seems to be an issue exclusive to the older boys - the younglings are yet to fully develop the heavy burden of customer tutelage and are friendly without being 'uncool' and over reaching the fatal TMI barrier.
In song summary: hit me with your coffee stick, hit me. hit me slowly hit me quick... hit me!

Good atmosphere.....Service patchy. I like the atmosphere here, but the service has been patchy at best. Twice I have ordered a soy mac (hot) topped up, which split (curdled) once I poured in the soy milk from the speccy little bottle they give you ( which is very cute BTW) The first time I just left it, but the second time I returned it to the counter to receive a lecture about how I should not order that it as it would "always split". Which does beg the question as to why they served it to me n the first place! I was not offered a replacement or even an opportunity to order and pay for another coffee ! So pretty disappointed there.

Have however recently had a nice soy latte which they seem to cope with. Having said this, it is a nice place to sit and watch the passing parade in the morning . Maybe the staff just need to remember customer service principles a bit more.

Great coffee, great brownies, lovely staff. A bit pricey but not markedly so for Subi. Beats San churros around the corner for service, coffee and brownies. The staff here know there staff and always make you feel welcome.

Aside from forgetting our coffees and running out of the breakfast bagel (by 9.30am), Louis Baxter redeemed itself. The avocado feta bruschetta was zesty, creamy and generous on the avocado. The hot chocolate was rich and chocolaty. I'd definitely come back, an hope they have the breakfast bagel on offer.

Great food, even better drinks. Louis Baxters is cool. Not just because its owned by Eamon Sullivan but because of the dark interiors, the tattoed girl formulating the mural sprawling the length of the café, and the food and the cool people who work behind the counter!

On a weekend morning, we’ve just managed to avoid the made morning coffee rush. Nevertheless the café is bustling and busy, but we still manage to find a table and settle down. Louis Baxter’s Menu isn’t extensive and it lacks some of the usual suspects you would find on a breakfast menu – my sister sadly laments there are no scrambled eggs.

She settles for the bacon and egg roll ($10) and a long black. The long black comes served in the cutest red china cup and has the richest crema I’ve ever seen. The coffee itself tastes a bit stagnant though – sour and slightly acidic, perhaps the victim of the undershot. My sister manages to get through it and it happily satisfied with her bacon and egg roll, which has suitably crispy bacon and a well done fried egg. It’s simple and it does the trick.

My friend has the Toasted Sandwich with Leg Ham, Tomato and Capel Cheddar ($8) and a soy mocha. She claims it’s the best soy mocha she has had in Perth, the milk steamed to just the right temperature with nutty undertones. The toastie itself is made from thick cut bread, crunchy with a generous pink layer of slippery ham in the middle. It slipes and slides everywhere, but there is enough butter and cheese to keep my friend chomping her way though. She has a bit of trouble with the crust though, it’s a bit tough after a while of struggling with the toastie.

I have the Spanish Eggs ($16) which are amazing. The first layer is a tough, almost plastic layer of egg. But once you crack though it, a billow of stream comes out and heady aromas of tomato, sauted onion and chorizo waft your way. It is concentrated in flavor – hot in temperature, spicy from the chorizo, rich from the tomatoes. It’s the feta and the almonds that elevate the dish though. Creamy pieces of feta scattered on top soothe the fire from the chorizo and the thinly sliced almonds adds a textural crunch to the dish. It’s really good, and I mop up everything with the toasted slice of bread served alongside it.

The iced chocolate I had deserves a special mention. It’s the best Iced Chocolate I’ve ever had. There is actually no ice in it ... instead its two WHOLE scoops of vanilla icecream, the topmost scoop coated in chocolate powder and a viscous layer of molten chocolate swimming at the bottom. Its creamy and utter bliss, absolutely amazing.

The red velvet cupcakes look so tempting, but we are all so stuffed. For next time!!!

What I loved about Louis Baxters was their amazing iced chocolate and their Spanish Eggs. Efficient service, great atmosphere (though every now and then you hear a train screaming past) and a very convenient location – close to the main Subi strip. The man who served us was great too, very easy to talk to and was keen to hear our feedback on the food/ drinks.

Rating: Eight and a half out of Ten Spanish Eggs.

Delicous!. Eggs aren't really my thing so it was nice to have brunch options that didn't include them. The avocado and feta on toast with smoked salmon was amazing and definitely worth going back for!

Simple and perfect. First and foremost Louis Baxters makes a great coffee and is consistent. For this very reason I'll be coming back time and time again.

Coffee and toast for breakfast in the mornings and a great menu for brunch on the weekend (Sunday they're closed). I tried the 60min poached egg and loved it to bits. I saw a sign saying they did eggs benedict too but opted for the 60min poached egg.

If that wasn't enough all the staff are friendly and welcoming. I've been here a few times now and can't recommend the place more.

Hello good coffee - I like you. The first time I came here the barista offered me a frequent coffee card. I declined saying that I probably won't be back for a while as I work too far away. I was back the next day and have gone through quite a few frequent coffee cards since. Campos + Josh = magic. Great vibe. Love the Pippa McManus artwork. If you haven't been here you are missing out on one of the best coffee experiences in Perth.

Get over yourself Perth!!! Of the reviews I've read about this place the only complaint that you all seem to have is that it's owned by someone famous and you all like to bag him!!! The coffee is very well made and while it's not to everyone's taste in the 6 times I've been here it never been over extracted or under extracted which is alot more than I can say about any other cafe in Subi. That includes cafe cafe or boucla. Your doing a great job guys

Perfectly Poached. I'm a huge fan of the 60 minute poached egg, so I was excited to see it on the breakfast menu at Louis Baxter's in Subiaco Square. The precious egg (one only) arrived accompanied with shaved Parmesan, peas and asparagus with a hint of truffle oil. I prefer my eggs to be served very simply, but for the sake of this experiment I eat it as it's presented.

The egg was cooked with the right amount of sponge-like yolkiness; the reason why they're slowly cooked. The bread was thinly sliced and toasted perfectly. Finally a place that understands how important the thickness of bread is. Presentation was excellent and the serving generous although I would have liked two eggs and not just the one. The service is incredibly friendly and I will definitely return for poached eggs although this time I'll have them on toast without all the added sides.

This tiny little place in Subiaco is without doubt the best coffee make in Perth. Their coffee is smooth, perfectly brewed and therefore not bitter. The breakfast is good, was disappointed I couldn't get scrambled eggs but the egg and bacon roll was delightful. Perfectly cooked egg with a spicy tomatoe chutney. My partner had the Spanish Eggs which she said was delicious. Baked eggs, chorizo, tomatoe, chilli, nuts and fetta cheese. Worth a try but don't expect a seat as seating is extremely limited

After getting off to a rocky start the week before here,i went in to have breakfast with my mon-fri only voucher and they were open but only doing coffee-should but black out dates to avoid this inconvieience perhaps. I returned the following week for lunch-we both had the corn cakes which were divine and coffee and chai latte which wee also excellent:) very happy..everything was fresh and staff friendly and attentive. An enjoyable experience and will be back to try breakfast

What a fantastic little cafe!! Great to find the delicious campos coffee in Perth, these guys obviously know about coffee!! After two coffees, I only had room for toast, but my brother had the slow poached egg, it looked so good I had a couple of bites and am a convert, along with the truly superior sourdough bread... Service was extremely fast and very friendly, but this place has such a great atmosphere, almost New York warehouse style that you'd just happily go for a coffee alone. Thanks guys, will definitely be back and most definitely recommend this to others.

Great addition to Perth. It's great to have Louis Baxters as a new café in Perth. I loved the fact that when I looked at the menu I wasn't searching for something "worth" the price I was going to pay. I found the prices quite adequate and this is something we need in Perth. Although, $4.50 for a little muffin was a bit steep. Yes, they are house-made, but no muffin costs anything close to being made for $2.00 each. It ends up being a high mark-up.

Overall, Louis Baxters has my vote. Primarily for what it is trying to do in Perth and for it's décor. It's lovely to have the option of having a single-origin coffee or a try of a coffee made through the Cold Drip. Also, the menu is basic but sometimes that's all you want. It's also worthy to note that Louis Baxters was featured on Today Tonight's 'Best in the West' Series as Best Café, which shows how much Perth patrons are over the overpriced, crowded, typical and bland cafés which are everywhere.

Louis Baxter - street view A busy morning out with my mum and son required a quick coffee break so we ventured into nearby Louis Baxter . The cafe is owned by Eamon Sullivan (a former Australian Olympic swimmer) and Laki Baker who met on Celebrity Masterchef; in fact Eamon won the competition. The name 'Louis Baxter' originates from combining the names of the owners French bulldogs. It is well positioned to offices and the Subiaco Railway station and boasts a menu using fresh local and seasonal produce and campos coffee. Louis Baxter has a small dining area inside with a variety of tables, high tables and bar stools and comfy cushioned ottomans. There is a brilliant mural dominating one wall by fashion illustrator Pippa McManus and bulb lights hanging from the roof. The overall effect of an urban warehouse has been cleverly designed. Wall Mural We chose to have Flat White Coffees ($3.80) perfectly made and definitely hot. I chose the homemade Carrot Cake which was nice but a little dry
