What a magical place - just awesome service and wonderful atmosphere. Love the decor and the people and the vibe. Had a really special evening there with the entire family - it's actually a really romantic place - will be back to eat their awesome pizza, cheese platter, chocolate cake and delicious house wine. Yum. Thanks for a memorable evening.

This bar is awesome if you are looking for a great selection of drinks in a relaxed neighbourhood vibe, where the staff make you feel welcome and at home. I have had many great nights at this place, and the live music they get in every week is top notch. Not the slightest bit of pretense or wank in this place - it is an asset to Summer Hill and embodies everything I love about the inner west. Highly recommended! PS My favourite wine in the bar is the Chockstone Shiraz, so yummy, especially in winter.

Alex and his team couldn't have been more accommodating when helping me celebrate my birthday. Elvis mixed up a storm. Tell the bar staff what you're feeling like and let them recommend you something. The drinks are awesome, the food is delicious, atmosphere is great for an intimate gathering with your best mates! Highly recommend.

Had a fun catch up with friends at Temperence. Wines were delicious as was the shared platter. Hopefully in the fufture the owners will create a few more food options. Though small the atmosphere is great whether out the back in the courtyard, inside one of the smaller intimate rooms, in the front bar or upstairs in the library. Great small bar and highly recommended.

A touch of class in the inner west - fine ales and decent vittles, with temperance only necessitated by the drive home. The entertainment was pretty good too (pecuniary interest declared ; )

The staff are very attractive and cool and I think they should do a simpsons round and have the old audio system back xoxox

The cocktails were delicious, and at a reasonable price too! And an absolutely delicious cheese platter (thank you for not putting blue cheese on there!) Will be back for sure 😊

A revolving and reasonably priced wine list in a very comfy and homely bar. The people that work here are incredibly warm and welcoming, especially the owner Alex. A great space to meet friends or take your partner on a date!

A lovely small bar, with beautiful vintage & arty décor, lots of character, an amazing drinks menu and friendly staff! I hosted a party here and the temperance society went over and beyond to accommodate my guests & celebrate with us!

What a secret little gem this is with its shabby chic vibe, little rooms packed sith pictures, books and vintage furniture, music that suits the setting and bar staff so chilled and down to earth, this place feels like a home from home. Add in a good selection of booze and tasty food from the kitchen and you have yourself the perfect cosy venue. The only criticism is that the rooms downstairs get a bit chilly in winter.

A local small bar with old worldly feel but with a modern and hip crowd. We were welcomed by one of the waitresses as soon as we arrived who took the time to explain the range of beverages and give us a lowdown of the place. Sit at the front close to the bar, the courtyard out the back, find a nook in some of the rooms downstairs or head upstairs. We only popped in for a glass of wine before dinner but a great place to linger with friends. Good range of wines and beers.

Great atmosphere and service, but the wine list appears to be a mere afterthought, with just a handful of offerings of very mediocre quality

Definitely my new favourite pub in Sydney! I love how their menus are disguised in children's story books, how their furniture were all donated by the local community and they even helped starting the pub up. I love how it's so relaxed and one can just chill there all afternoon. The food there was great and love their selection of local beer which you could get a jug of beer for just $18.
