Love it! Since recently moving into the area I have eaten at SS both at the restaurant and take away and each time I have really enjoyed my meal. Kept reading that the fish burger was the best, tried it tonight and it was delicious- lots of condiments so it wasn't dry like some burgers you get. Best desserts in town. Yum
Love love love Sunshine Social! We order from here regularly to get our fix of the delicious food on offer. The burgers are my personal favourites, but a big shout-out to the freekeh salad which is to die for! Beautiful atmosphere, super-friendly staff and great service. It's the best in the west!

We had my daughter's baptism celebration here on November 11 and the service was absolutely superb. This post comes a little late but my husband and I are so grateful to the staff for a wonderful day. From the seating arrangement in the courtyard (We had a party of 40 and two lots of two tables were arranged so that all my guests could comfortably speak to one another), to the discussions about the menu prior to the event, the flexibility of the chef, the welcoming nature of all of the staff and of course, affordability - everything was great!
The food was amazing..We organised for everyone to have the 'Just Feed Us' from the menu and was surprised to see the amount of food that came out. It seemed endless really. We ended up taking a lot of the food home and had a feast over two days! My personal favorite was the squid and pork ribs. A lot of my guests enjoyed the sunshine social plate and my mum absolutely loved the chips.
Each one of my guest had a wonderful time. The kids also enjoyed the cubby house with all of its tools and gadgets. Downside to that is they just wouldn't stop playing to eat their food.

Celebrated dadās 70th birthday here, we had a large group including lots of kids and the staff were very accommodating and friendly. The food was delicious and plentiful. Great value for money. We were there for ages and didnāt feel rushed or pushed to leave at all. The kids loved playing in the cubby house and using the trikes and bikes available. Highly recommend, will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.
Just stopped by to check it out and I loved it. The staff were friendly and helpful. I had the $10 chicken, tomato and white-bean stew served with turkish bread and it was delicious! The atmosphere is relaxed and it is great to see how they have transformed it from a run-down, old petrol station to a new, trendy restaurant. I will recommend it for sure :)

Service very good, food was ample and delicious. I ordered the calamari with a side of slaw. Calamari was tender and scrumptious! My partner ordered pork ribs and chips. His pork fell away from the bone; very tender and he loved it! Will definitely return
Had the fried chicken burger which was hands down one of the best I've had. Nice selection of craft beers. This is gonna be a great spot for a summer session. Still a few months away from having the liquor license for serving alcohol outside but still a great spot

Beautiful in its appearance, very clean and stylish. From what this place was, to what it is now FANTASTIC! The menu has grown. Initially not much veggie / vegan options, but wow so much to choose from and the price is šš½. I wasnāt very happy with the falafel burger, a bit too bland, however, the pulled pork and chicken burgers looked amazing!
Best burgers in the west. The South American inspired bbq will blow your taste buds away. The staff are incredibly friendly and the old service station setting is a pleasure to be around and the food is so well priced you can bring the whole family.

I went here with the family on Motherās Day and we had a great time. The food was really nice for the price, everyone was happy with their meals. It also has a nice atmosphere and look.

This place has a nice atmosphere. I ordered the quarter chicken + chips + corn and my partner had the fried chicken burger. I was pleasantly surprised. The price was reasonable and my chicken had a nice flavour. Not dry although not bursting with moisture, it is still very acceptable. The chips and gravy were delicious and corn was lovely too. Definitely give this place a shot!
Edit: came back to this place a few more times and I can safely say itās going to be a solid lunch place for me if Iām not willing to travel out. Delicious and consistent in quality!

Finally tried this place after giving them a few months to find its feet due to the sort of mixed reviews we heard from peers. The chicken pate we could probably do without as the flavour wasn't quite there? The seasoning was a bit lacking throughout but the bread and pickles (like maccas pickles) were a godsend. The bread was so fluffy and warm - I'd love to just buy fresh bread from you! The ribs were just finger licking delicious. The meat FALLS OFF the bone and that is saying something. Props to them for $25 ribs that are actually slow cooked to perfection. The BBQ sauce isn't overly sweet and I was really worried for this as I don't go near any kind of BBQ sauce. The slaw although a generous serving (yes) didn't have a lot of seasoning/sauce throughout (not sure if there was any as menu only says 'slaw'). The chicken burger was juicy and succulent, can't go wrong with getting that for a good meal. Nutella shake (yes they're overdone) but theirs is so good!! Probably one of the best I've had, we were itching for more.
Choc Ripple Cake was a stunner - LOVE mint flavour and LOVE the combination - do I taste rum?!
Wednesday night dinner. I had the beef burger. Solid burger with good amount of sauce. Friend ordered her burger with a change but there was a bit of a language barrier and the order was wrong but was promptly fixed.
Staff could have easily pushed drinks but instead we all just had water.
Had to ask staff if we could order dessert. Oreo Icecream Sangas were good but they were rock hard & difficult to eat on the tiny saucer & teaspoon they were served with.
Staff were happy to let us pay separately. Good amount of customer parking through gates on either side.
Gotta say Iām a fan. Love the chicken burger and the atmosphere in the beer garden will be great once the weather warms up. Only thing missing is the license to have alcohol outside. Nothing better than smashing their chicken burger, alas you canāt do the beer outside. I hope theyāre able to get approval to serve liquor outside as itāll make it a top spot this coming summer. Hope it happens.
This place is amazeballs - seriously go and visit! FromĀ our first visit (and they've been a few), we've had nothing but awesome service and fabulous food. The lentil burger, slaw and chips my total fav. Would love a few more kid friendly food options, but they're usually too busy on the scooter outside to worry about eating (insert rolled eyes). Ice-cream in a cone, massive hit! On colder nights, we've resorted to eitherĀ dining inside under the warm heatersĀ or getting take-out. Can't wait for warm summer Friday nights, hanging out with local families and a couple of glasses of wine. Support this great local establishment, you won't be disappointed.
Great place to eat at & good simple menu too š the burgers are not too overwhelming or over the top. Its just the right amount served on the plate along with the sides. Love how the staff are very friendly and helpful as well. Would definitely come back to Sunshine Social. This trendy gem in the Sunshine West is worth to check out as im sure everyone will enjoy not just the food, but they have great outdoor area as well.

Been here twice now and loved it both times. The burgers are absolutely delicious and very well priced for the good quality and a side of chippies included. Am yet to try other menu items as I can't go past the chicken burger!!! Good selection of wines and beers and a friendly casual atmosphere. Can't wait to settle into the beer garden in warmer weather with some chicken wings and a beer. Go sunshine!

4th time here, 4th different menu item, from mouthwatering fall off the bone , succulent well portioned ribs, to amazing burgers... this place is yet to disappoint in any way.

Just finished the Chicken burger... let me run you through the experience.
From the first bite, the soft buns give way to the crunch of the fresh slaw, as you bite into the crispy, well seasoned chicken breast.... to the tang on your pallet of the mustard, with a subtle after bite from the jalapeƱo ...
AND THATS JUST THE FIRST MOUTHFUL PEOPLE !!!!
As you take the 2nd bite, your already eagerly awaiting the burst of flavours to hit . Just close your eyes... chew and savour every mouthful .
Oh, and the side of soft centred , crispy chips to soak up the juices from the burger .... mmmmm bloody mmmmm .
And don't get me started on the the pork ribs...

Great value, tasty food and good service. We tried the fish and beef burgers, beef ribs and BBQ chicken with a range of sides and starters including the saganaki, corn, pumpkin hummus and finished it all off with the chocolate ripple cake and coffee. No complaints- everything was hot and fresh and came out quickly. Fish burger was fresh and crisp and tasty but just needed a little salt. Can't wait to try this place in summer as the outdoor space looks very promising. Will definitely be back.
I had the lunch roll. A bargain at $8.50. The bread roll itself was amazing! Crispy but light. The chicken inside however, made everything soggy. It had a light gravy but too much of it so it dripped and became way too messy to enjoy and taste. There was coleslaw in the roll and needed more of it and less gravy. The menu said it comes with chips but when I didn't receive mine they said it was only the burgers that had chips. I ordered some and they were bland, needed seasoning. Service was ok. I'd go back, plenty of delicious sounding menu options

Sunshine Social is a really nice eatery that on first impression it is bright, welcoming & non pretentious. It's a place that every local would feel relaxed & return again.
The atmosphere is modern & im so proud the western suburbs is finally coming along & developing other establishments other than Vietnamese, Indian & Pizza restaurants (though I love them too!). It's time for our side of town to not have the travel to Brunswick or Fitzroy for hip, fun & great tasting modern food & service.
The highlight of our dining experience was our waiter Caesar from Colombia. As soon as we walked in, his vibrant & passionate personality made us feel we made a good call coming here. He made us feel certain that we would enjoy the food & vibe of the place. He really went out of his way to make us feel welcomed by explaining the menu & having a friendly chat with us. I hope that he is a valued staff member & managers recognise how important & lucky they are to have a great asset in their team. Diners always remember excellent customer service, more so than the food. Staff create the ambiance & feel of the environment first and foremost.
The food was also good but needs a few tweaks, the meat was somewhat tough & sauce a bit too sweet (chimichurri?). The chips are amazing! The coleslaw was a nice addition with no mayo, rather a refreshing oil & vinegar dressing that is moorish. I would though add a bit of fresh dill & a touch more acidity as a personal preference. We will definitely return to try other menu items, especially the burgers that looked great.
The guy on the grill was a bit too grumpy for my liking though & needs to realise that customers can hear & see you! It's a visible & open kitchen. Luckily he doesn't have much interaction with the customers. At least try to be professional & that you want to be at work so the establishment grows & flourishes (15/07/17 2:30pm).
Overall, it's a wonderful new eatery that has staying power if it continues to foster lovely & warm front of house customer service (minus grumpy chef) & honest food. In terms of deco it could use a bit more colour on the current white brick wall to liven it up a bit. A poster of the Sunshine Ale is a must! Also some more greenery/plants/cacti/flowers inside would amp it up greatly.
Beer on tap would also be a perfect addition!

Cosy family friendly BBQ joint. A good west side find. We loved how each of the grill options comes with a complimentary side. We had the beef lemongrass ginger, lamb chops and slow cooked pork ribs with slaw, chips and corn. Absolutely delicious and well worth it for the price.
We had the Oreo and strawberry ice cream sangas for dessert. Those were pricey for $7.5 a piece but a sweet way to finish off the meal.
We had the weekend special, beef ribs with coleslaw and chips. Meat was amazing in flavour and very moist along with the chips. Coleslaw needed a touch more vinegar to enhance flavour but otherwise a perfect meal. Manager very attentive and polite with outstanding service.
Delicious food, generous serves, spacious dining area & the loveliest staff! I'm a rather fussy eater so mainly went to satisfy a carnivore friend but was incredibly surprised that I liked it just as much as they did! The coleslaw was so fresh & light (no mayo in sight!) & would be the perfect accompaniment to anything you select from the large selection of BBQ meals! I tried the lamb chops & the serve was huge...luckily my carnivore friend helped out! They had the pork ribs which were super tender but the sauce was a tad sweet for me...but I'm not a ribs fan so the fact I even liked it surprised me. I've already planned lunch there again next week :)

How good is this place. To quote Molly, Do yourself a favour, get there before everyone finds out about it. This is something Sunshine has been waiting for. Beef burger , fried chicken burger and the most golden thick chips you have ever had. Forget Footscray, try here. Definitely 5 out of 5.
From the team that use to own and manage the station hotel this place is on point. Simple but trendy fit out, great service and nice open space. The food was also really good. Chicken burger has some kick but still fresh and full of flavour which is exactly how I like it.
This is our new local, I have been here twice so far had the meat special with this amazing sauce and then next time the chicken skewers and salad, and my boyfriend had the lamb with chips. All really tasty and meat cooked perfectly. Dinner was only $45 for the two of us including a drink each. So happy this place opened cause it's pretty healthy too and is a good place to go when you don't want to cook but don't want to travel. Must check it out good for families too!
It's a nice place, and I love that kids are welcome, though some food options for them would be good. The service was great and I had the chicken burger which was yummy! I'd have ordered something else but the sides were a bit average-would love to see some more interesting ones. Oh, and looking forward to an outside license and coffee! Then I'll probs be there all the time!

Great service, delicious food. Nice open space so it's great for large groups, and they even have a cubby house for kids to play in! The toddler loved it. We had the chicken burger and pork skewers which were great, and I loved the Turkish bread and dips (we had the pumpkin hummus and the eggplant dip). Washed it down with a Westside Brewing Sunshine Ale. Will definitely return for dinner with friends and try the pork ribs out!
What a great place!! The ambiance, food and staff are incredible. The service was efficient and friendly. We'll definitely be back and can't recommend it enough. They have hit on a unique formulae and I love it!!
A fantastic addition to the west and Sunshine. Recently opened on the site of a former service station, the venue stays true to its roots whilst still offering slick internal and external fitouts. Large covered outdoor area where the bowsers were once located, a sunny courtyard filled with greenery to soften the space and a cubby house for the kids. A diverse menu including charcoal BBQ meats, seafood and veg, burgers, lots of salad options, something for everyone really.
We popped into this spot for lunch and immediately felt a smooth and homey (USA) vibe. The servers were friendly and the music was an old school American juke joint groove. Add a bucket of rum punch to these pics and you can see how great the food is. Everything arrived quickly and was delicious with American BBQ styles and flavours. Loved the eclectic decor too.
We will definitely be regulars here!
Love this local! Great value lunch specials, excellent food, perfect spot for eating in or dining outside in the sun and tasty beers on tap to wash it all down. This is our regular and we often find ourselves here weekly for burgers, steak or schnitzel and always a beer! Plus the chips are perfect! š

This is a fabulous eatery in Sunshine West that we love. The steak is excellent - they know how to cook both rare and medium perfectly (with the right amount of char!) which makes for a really welcome change. Chips are scrumptious too!
Thursday night is steak night and itās not one to be missed ($20 steak and chips + beer/wine/soft drink). You gotta check this place out!

Came here for dinner and loved it. Burgers were insanely good - and well priced. Everything about the burger was on point - huge patties, toasted buns, yum sauce. BBQ chicken was delicious, so were the fries and mac n cheese. My partner ended up ordering a burger after seeing the rest of the tables arrive lol. Has a really cool outdoor and function area. Great customer service and food, highly recommend.
Amazing execution on the chicken schnitzel, probably the best I've ever had. I would say it's a hidden gem on the menu. Can't wait to go back.
