Let me preface this by saying this is a review of their takeaway service. Previously we had dined in and found everything great - thus why we thought we'd try takeaway.
After trying takeaway I won't ever be going back.
What we ordered:
- vegetarian Singapore noodles
- curried scallops
- sweet and sour pork
- chicken wings
- spring rolls
- rice
What we received:
- Singapore noodles with pork
- curried scallops
- lukewarm sweet and sour pork
- chicken wings that were fridge-cold in the middle
- spring rolls that were fridge-cold in the middle
- no rice
We realised the food had probably been microwaved and not cooked properly, so we stopped eating the curried scallops and sweet and sour pork (I'll admit we tucked in to the pork before we tried the rest so didn't realise it was likely undercooked)
I called the restaurant and explained there were some issues with the order, they asked me to come back in.
I took with me everything we hadn't eaten minus the food we'd put into our plates (thinking it would be ridiculous to pour it back in.. especially with covid?)
When we got there they said that they cooked the food fresh for us... I don't see how given how the middle of most of the food wasn't hot, it was like it had been stored in the fridge and badly heated.
They then refused to give us a full refund because we had brought back containers that weren't completely full. I said I wanted a full given we obviously weren't going to keep eating any of the food once we had realised how badly cooked certain things were. They wouldn't budge and in the end refused to give us a refund for the curried scallops or pork. (How are you supposed to know whether the food is good or not unless you taste it first??)
Attached is a photo of the pork and curried scallops. (Not as bad of an issue but the curried scallops were also quite bland and watery, and the rice is from a packet we had to cook at home)
They were completely unapologetic about it all and I won't be going back there. I would advise staying well away from the takeaway, or if you do risk it make sure to thoroughly inspect everything first before digging in!

AMAZING value!!!
What you can get for the price is just awesome!!
For just $33, we got a sizzling plate of Mongolian steak, a plate of honey chicken and a plate of Singapore noodles!!!!
The sauce the Mongolian steak came with was simply delicious and that dish was a pleasure to eat.
The staff were all really friendly and great to deal with too.
The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars and not 5 is because the honey chicken was nothing special and the Singapore noodles themselves were quite bland - but then again, that could just be due to my tastes and what I enjoy.
We'll definitely be back to try some of their other dishes!!
DEFINITELY the best value Chinese in the area!

I've been here several times previously and it rarely disappoints. The staff are always friendly and attentive. Food is delicious and well priced considering some other restaurants nearby have noticeably increased prices. I most recently visited on a busy Saturday night and overall experience + food were exceptional. Portions have always been generous but I've noticed in the last few occasions that this varies during peak times. The majority of items on the menu are otherwise really well priced and I rarely leave feeling disappointed that it wasn't worth the money or unsatisfied with the food quality.

Dragon express restaurant has flavoursome, well cooked geverous sized dishes,at a very good price. The Royal Duck comes in a rich gravy like broth and has chicken, beef, bbq pork and prawns as well as juicy sweet slices of duck with the skin on. Its really nice, should have taken photo before i ate al the duck!

Wow... Just wow. I have never been left so speechless from a meal-heck not just a meal, but an experience. The owner was friendly like no other, and the food was utterly delicious. The noodles had a springy texture that I just love, and the beef was so tender that it melted in my mouth. My only regret is that I didn't order more. Just wow...

Read great reviews hence decided to order takeaway from there. My half a crispy roast duck was more like a quarter, duck was very soggy which was not fresh. Put it in a plate and there wasn’t much either. Ordered charsui which was very tough and unenjoyable. Could tell that these two dishes weren’t made today and most likely heated up in the microwave. For $39 it was absolutely disappointing, should of waited till 5:30pm for Gold leaf to open.
