đ±Lizzieâs first impression: consistent every time, tasty and authentic Vietnamese dishes and great seating area especially for large groups.
đ©Lizzie enjoyed: the banh xeo (Vietnamese pancakes) are the real winners here - I always order it. The banh canh cua (crab with rice noodles) is delicious and itâs my favourite thing to order. They also do a really good sweet plum juice and avocado smoothie.
đ
Lizzie did not enjoy: donât expect the best service here - especially on a special day like Fatherâs Day etc.
đ„Lizzie rates overall: highly recommend this place if youâre wanting a local feed!
Been here a couple times now and it has been consistently good. Funnily enough I havent been here to try the BBH which is what they are known for. The restaurant is deceptively large with seating out the back. Will definitely be back soon to try more of their menu and their BBH
This place is huge, and it's busy. But after tasting the food, you can understand why. The must try dish is the Bun Bo Hue, I had the beef option. It was really delicious, didn't have as much noodles as you would get in other soups, however you receive a bowl of salad on the side to add to the soup. I also had the avocado smoothie. It's a definite must try. I will be back here. Service was great, and food was provided quite quickly.
Relatively new restaurant compared to most in this area. Ambience is modern with traditional Vietnamese decor. I was served rather quickly considering how full the restaurant was.
Salt and Pepper chicken ribs were fresh, crunchy and well flavoured. Chicken corn soup was well enjoyed by my kids, classic favourite.
Cant go wrong with the coconut shake here. Definately addictive.
Will be back to try more dishes
Yummy Bun Bo Hue and fast service. The food tastes authentic and just like home. I will be back here again for more. My partner, who is quite a picky eater enjoyed it as well!
â€ïž Bun Bo Hue (L/$13); Dropped Rice Noodle Soup with Crab Meat ($14)
đ„ Everybody ordered their own individual bowl
đ Delicious flavours in the soup; generous portion; beautiful spacious and traditional-style interior design; staff quick to take order; soup comes out steamy hot; consistent quality each time
đ Moderately busy at 7 p, Sunday night; food comes out within 10 minutes; not busy at 10a, Sunday morning
âïžI have been coming here for years and it is the best place to grab delicious bun bo hue in the western suburbs
this restaurant has the BEST BBH! if youâre looking for a good one, this is the place. it has never not satisfied me. the customer service is nice here and there are a lot of tables so you rarely have to wait. prices are good and the atmosphere of the place is very good!
I really enjoyed the food. Salt and pepper chicken ribs were 7/10. More rice than chicken and the chicken hardly had any salt hmmm but wow so crunchy. The Beef Pho OMG 8/10, so much flavour. Next time I will ask for different noodles in the soup though because these ones were gluggy and a little over cooked. 90% of the staff donât speak English.. not good! We are in an English speaking country! I think the manager was looking after us. He was great. Will go again to try more things because overall I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
My third time back at this bustling, busy place.
Ordered:
đ BĂșn BĂČ Huáșż (small): Hue Traditional vietnamese style chilli beef soup, with sliced beef, pork, beef loaf, pork hock, blood ($11.00)
Review:
An absolute BARGAIN price for a generous feed.
Cá» ÄĂŽ is my favourite bbh place, right after the way my mum makes it. The soup is a little spicy, giving you that good giddy tingly feeling with every single slurp.
There's delicious variety with the addition of beef loaf and pork so you're not constantly eating beef. Something that is grossly underappreciated in my opinion.
đ” I don't know what house tea they use here, but it tastes like crack/thai milk tea haha. It has the perfect blend of sweet and bitter that I am just simply obsessed.
Fast paced, Cá» ÄĂŽ is one of my faves if you feel like you need a hug during Melbourne's winter!! đ€
Hearty soups for the soul! The spices and flavoring were on point.
The spring rolls were tasty but could have been a little thicker.
Overall, very tasty Vietnamese food and a great option in the West. They do vegetarian based soups as well if you let them know when youâre ordering - which is a huge win as a lot of other Vietnamese restaurants only serve a meaty broth .. đ
This is my go-to restaurant for a good bowl of Bun Rieu. The serving is generous, and the flavours are prominent. I love the tomato- crab combination, I highly recommend this dish!
I also love the avocado smoothies made here, it is fresh and sweet, I order it almost every time!
The rice paper rolls are less predictable, most of time they are generously packed, but at times it can quite small.
My friend orders this chicken dish almost every time, the skin is crispy, but not too oily!
Known for their Bun Bo Hue (Hue Traditional Vietnamese Style Chilli Beef Soup), it's one of their signature noodle soups.
Sometimes I have a tough time deciding between BBH and pho, but here the BBH broth is clean with deep flavour of beef, lemongrass, and chilli oil.
As with most Vietnamese restaurants, the service is quick, and the bowl is good value for money.
The restaurant is pretty clean too, great option for BBH on this side of town!
My favourite place on the west for Bun Bo Hue. The broth is so flavorful and deep with a hint of sweet and spice. Definitely worth a visit if you're on the west.
A large Vietnamese family restaurant with a very clean dining area and fast serviceÂ
Food is good and fairly price,
Consistently plating up tasty dishes you cant go wrong by choosing to walk thru its doors
Never actually go for sunshine for any Asian or viet food since St. Albans is really close by but co do is definitely a great find amongst the wide variety of viet restaurants in sunshine right now.
Ordered:
Hue style chilli beef noodle soup combination (M) $11
Review:
Whatâs different about this place is that their broth is clear! They do not put any red colouring or extra chilli paste to make it murky red which is an added bonus if youâre into light broths. Overall the dish had nice depth of flavour from the pork and the noodles were perfectly cooked. Wished the meats were sliced a bit thinner, and the pork hock was braised down so it could be softer. Will definitely be back to try some more. Love their back yard interior reminded me of Vietnam!
If you're looking for the best Vietnamese in the West, Co Do is the one. Consistently has good food all the time. I would recommend the bun no hue.
Best bun bo hue. Offered in three sizes the way it should be! Durian lovers must try the durian coffee!

First time eating at the Sunshine location as their sister location up in Richmond is my all time fav.
Serving up authentic viet classic dishes, fast (except they had forgoten our sizzling beef order, had to wait an extra 40min after all of us had eaten our meals so we ended up just eating it on its own) and friendly service with super clean amenities. Their infamous bbh is to die for, hearty broth packed full of flavour.â â â â â â â â
đž: Bun Bo Hue, Broken rice /c shredded pork, Grilled pork, Fried egg & Steamed egg loaf @ Co Do, Sunshine #foodie #melbourneeats #codo #vietnamesefood
Been here a few times for Pho and Bun Bo Hue! Good local Vietnamese restaurant in the west, apparently well known for its egg crepe as well.
Service is great particularly for an Asian restaurant. Food was good will be back to try other dishes. Not hard to see why this is the busiest Vietnamese restaurant in Sunshine đ
Co Do is always on the itinerary whenever we have visitors from overseas. Spoilt for choice, we have tried several Vietnamese restaurants down the road yet still prefer Co Do for their hearty beef pho broth and meaty spring rolls.
A local favorite. Serving the best Vietnamese noodle soup (bun bo hue) as their speciality. Their Vietnamese pancakes are huge and a must try, however sometimes can take up to 30 mins to cook on a busy day.
Decided to lose my BBH virginity here on the advice of a Viet food insider. She couldnât have got it more right. The BBH had a good amount of salt with a robust pork flavour. The veggies were bountiful and the slices of pork were cooked well. Meanwhile the side of prawn spring rolls were some of the most flavoursome spring rolls Iâve ever tasted! I also really liked the avocado smoothie - very true to the flavour of avo and appropriately thick. For the price ($12 for a huge soup) the value proposition against the quality is exceptional. We came on a Friday afternoon and despite how huge the venue was, the place was buzzing with locals â a great sign that proved itself in the food. Would recommend!
One of my favourite places to go for Vietnamese food. Truly enjoy the quality and variety of food and flavours are always on point. Would recommend the dry egg noodles (or hu tieu) with prawn and pork and their BBH.
We came here twice and so far so good. This time we had BBH, beef pho, salt & pepper chicken ribs with rice and crispy noodle combination.
-BBH was tasty, had plenty of meat.
-Pho was good,
-Salt & pepper chicken ribs was nice and crispy but only consist of 5 small ribs.
-Combination crispy noodle was well fried, very crispy but the gravy could be thicker.
Will try their other menu and will update my review next time.
Service was good and quick.
Great food, great service, would rate a 5 if there take away dishes matched the quality of dining in. Overall great authentic taste. Always dining in is always a better experience. Combination stir fry on crispy noodles is the best
Good service, everything Iâve had here has been delicious. Sometimes can be a bit touch and go with the pho. Become a regular here. Cheap prices, best in the area!
Authentic, quality Vietnamese food served cheap, delicious and in a comfortable space compared to its loud/dirty/sterile competitors. A stand out Vietnamese find in Sunshine. Worth a try if youâre in the area!
Great authentic vietnamese food. Food comes out fast and is always hot and fresh. Has yet to let me down. Service is promt and same as any other Vietnamese restaurant. My go to place that hits every spot. đđ»
This place was packed at lunchtime during the week. It was cold and I need to warm up. I had never been here before. Friendly staff and fast service. The best in Sunshine to date.
In my humble opinion the best traditional, no-thrills Vietnamese fare in the west. The place is always busy but due to its size you'll almost always get a seat. First timers, do yourself a favour and try the BBH (Bun Bo Hue), they do it so freakin well it's criminal.
Great place for Vietnamese soup!
Service is very fast and friendly highly recommend this Vietnamese restaurant.
At times can be extremely busy if your going with a large number of people I would recommend to make a booking.
Best Vietnamese food Iâve had since living in Vietnam. Very fresh and tasty. The staff are great and super friendly. You wonât regret visiting.
The food is amazing in CoDo. One of the best in the West. The roasted quail dish was the winner for me. The beef pho was what you want in a pho light flavours and good portion size. This place is always full and that might be the reason for the slow service.
This place serves one of the best bun bo hue in melbourne. Aka spicy beef noodles.
I can't vouch for the pho here but the BBH is solid. Good spicy soup base with nice meats
If you like Bun Bo Hue, you MUST Try it from Co Do.
Their vietnamese pancake it aka Banh xeo is their other signature dish that worth trying
Great food, clean restaurant and fast service. The prawn and meat loafs in the bun bo hue is really yummy!
If you go in on a hot summerâs day - order the smoothies. The coconut smoothie is really refreshing and the jellyfish coleslaw is the bomb diggity. Portions are fair and the price is really reasonable.
Would not think twice about coming to this place for dinner :)
One of my fave Vietnamese place that makes really really good bun bu hue, its so tasty its cook to perfection. The soup broth is really good. Been here many times for their bun bu hue and it hasn't fail yet, their taste is consistent. Tried few others dishes as well but just ok.
Great local Vietnamese restaurant in sunshine, a high variety of dishes available, with reasonable prices. The dishes we ordered were Bun Mam, Com Bo Luc Lac, Bun Rieu, Hu tieu Mi Tom Thit & Goi Sua Tom Thit, all had great flavours and authentic. I had a great experience and will definitely be visiting often.
First time and will be back again. We ordered pork and prawn rice paper rolls so delicious and freshly made and did not collapse on you as soon as you took a bite. Wonton soup was beautifully clear. Salt and pepper calamari was to die for. My hubby had the honey chicken as he's not a huge experimentier and he loved it.
Best local Vietnamese. The Pho is superb and always fresh. The spring and rice paper rolls are delicious. Must try the BBQ pork and beef with pecking sauce. Great mid week quick dinner. Booths in the back seat six people - they don't charge for corkage. Bring your own wine as selection is limited.
Never fails to satisfy my Vietnamese food cravings! Been back heaps of times for the pho and broken rice.
Definitely the go to place for weekend lunch or dinner.
The most popular vietnamese restaurant in the area. The food is fresh generous tasty and authentic. Full of vietnamese locals. My go to vietnamese place
Had the prawn and pork spring rolls, really crisp and fresh as well as the lettuce and dipping sauce, the shark fin and crab soup was a nice size.and the sliced beef pho tasty, healthy servicing sand good service, might try the sizzling plates next time
What a 'gem' in the heart of Sunshine. Prompt service, nice decor and most of all, very nice 'pho' soup. I will be coming back here, and making it a regular.
Co Do is a Vietnamese restaurant . I am really happy to find this place. Food's are delicious and customer service amazing. I went their on a Thursday afternoon around 4:00pm and the restaurant was packed. I tried lots of Vietnamese restaurant but I have to say , this restaurant probably one of the best Vietnamese restaurant I been to so far. Price is also affordable. They also do family or group set menu ( i think it's for dinner), which comes with set of dishes for reasonable price. Family friendly restaurant.
Their "Taro smoothly" ....delicious.
I used to rate this as the best Vietnamese Beef Pho going around and used to frequent this joint often.I'm not sure what happened but sometime last year they changed what type of beef they used. The slice of it was very different, smelled and tasted awful.Went back there last night after a long hiatus in the hopes they'd changed back.Yes they have but alas not as good as it used it to be.The Bun Bo Hue is on point though!
Co Do is a Vietnamese restaurant that serves up yummy dishes that are good value. The eatery extends all the way to the back with plenty of seating for groups of all sizes. The menu is extensive and can cater to all tastes. Would recommend trying their betel leaf!. Broken Rice with Shredded Pork, Grilled Pork, Egg and Egg Pate $10.50
Awwwww yeaaaaa, hold the door co do! Winter is coming. Bun bo hue here is da bomb ya'll, naaaaa mean!? Best bbh in sunshine imo. Haven't tried any of the other dishes but I've heard the ban xeo is ngon qua!
5/5 for this place cause I've only tried one dish lol

PEACE
Very good food for the price! We come here whenever we're in the mood for Viet food, which is very often. Definitely recommend their BBH and drop noodles soup. Menu is quite extensive and most of them are very decent! It's quite difficult to get the waiters attention during peak periods but that's reasonable since the restaurant segregated into two sections, just be shameless and yell out for them! Waiters, waitresses and even the owners don't talk much but that's probably because most of them don't speak English that well. So if you can look pass the "friendliness" part, their food is definitely worth checking out!
What makes a good bowl of Bun Bo Hue (Vietnamese Spicy Beef Noodles) or as the cool kids on the block calls it, 'BBH'? Firstly, a tasty broth flavoured with lemongrass, chilli and shrimp paste. Then there's the al dente thick rice noodles topped with thin slices of braised beef, a good homemade pork loaf and fall off the bone pork hock that has absorbed the full flavours of the stock. And of course there needs to be a decent serving of salad including beanshoot, cabbage, lettuce, banana bell, mint and shredded water spinach stems.
I'm happy to say that Co Do delivers all that, along with friendly waiters, super fast service and really yummy smoothies. No wonder this place has been packed with Vietnamese customers since they've opened!! They do offer an extensive menu, but if you do visit, give their spicy beef noodles a try - it's going to be the next big craze after pho lovers get all pho'd out!! I'm pho real!
Excellent authentic Vietnamese noodles!
We were here on Easter Saturday afternoon and the place was packed!
Hannah ordered the Bun Bo Hue (Beef rice noodle soup) tasted great (3.7/5 points). The bowl was srumptious with lots of different toppings. The broth was great and had an authentic Da-Lat region taste yet there was something missing (could be the shrimp paste). Nevertheless, it was an excellent bowl of BBH.
Luke tried the chicken rice vermicelli soup and it was oustanding (4/5). The chicken was tender, juicy, and cut into big chunks. The broth was naturally sweet, comforting, and complex. The rice vermicelli was firm and smooth. The ginger sweet dipping sauce that came with the chicken was great!
We also got a Bac Xiu (condense milk with a bit of coffee) which was excellent, milky and not too sweet! (4/5)
Authentic and great value for money! We ordered too much and had plenty to take home after. The crispy chicken spareribs were delicious special mention to the bun bo (soup). Was recommended by friends to try that soup and I'll get again. Next time will try the egg pancake
My go to place for Bun Bo Hue, I've had many in the west side including footscray and st.albans and I can tell you the Bun Bo Hue is the best I've had. Service is good could be better but overall experience is very good.
If you love bun bo hue noodle soup then you need to try it at Co Do. The broth is like no other I have had and pack full of flavour. I go there just for bun bo hue when I get the cravings. Service is typical of a viet restaurant and I have no complaints with the prices either. It's just great!
My family usually goes here for really good Vietnamese food in Sunshine. The ambience inside the restuarant transports me back to Saigon. Staff is always warm and friendly.
We ordered:
Hue traditional Vietnamese style chilli beef soup- The soup has the right amount of salt and chilli. Noodles are well cooked and has enough meat added on top.
Egg noodle soup with seafood and vegetables- Tastes delicious with a variety of fish, shrimp and squid. Cashews thrown in with it. However i wish it had a tad more vegetables. Until next time...
Vietnamese three colour dessert- This is a must try!
Tea - their tea has a distinguishable sweet and vanilla scented taste.
When it comes to Vietnamese food, I tend to be quite particular about where to go depending on what dish I felt like eating. When I go to a Vietnamese restaurant, 95% of the time is recommended by someone for a particular dish. If I've been there long enough, I might try another dish.
I would come here for the Bun Bo Hue. Soup has a lot of flavours. Compared to other restaurants, they are also more generous on the serving size of the accompany "lettuce mix" plate.
Service is so so.
Went with the family and their food was quite nice. everything was fairly priced and the quantity reflected the price that you had payed for. The service is a little slow and much can be improved on, nonetheless, I had a good experience.
Instead of pho or broken rice, we ordered egg noodle with pork and tomato rice with diced beef. Both of them tasted awesome. The egg noodle came up with two surprises, cashew nuts and egg in the soup. Both were nice addition. The tomato rice was a bit standard but it was still great nonetheless. The beef was tender and the salt and pepper dipping was always a good addition to the dish. We also ordered an avocado smoothie, which was also good. Price is reasonable and the service was arguably good and fast. This place is my favourite so far in Sunshine.
This is my favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Sunshine. They have the best crab meat noodles and they provide fast and great service. Never have to wait for long here!
My babes and I were in Sunshine discussing where to have brunch on Monday. Although I felt like eggs, we both came to the conclusion that Viet food sounded good to the both of us right about now. We still weren't sure where to eat driving down Hampshire Road until we found a parking spot across the road from Co Do and that seemed to have made our decision for us.
Co Do is well known Viet restaurant renown for its Bun Bo Hue, which is a spicy beef soup my babes usually gets, but she felt like having something different today so she got the Crispy Fried Chicken with Noodle Soup (Hu Tieu Mi Ga Chien). I still felt like eggs and I started getting a hankering for some pork so it was an easy decision for me to get Grilled Pork Chop on Broken Rice (Com Tam). One of the best things about Viet food is that usually your food arrives really quick. Literally only a few minutes after ordering, my dish was served.
Grilled Pork Chop on Broken Rice has to be my favourite Vietnamese rice dish as it has two of my favourite food components; pork and egg. The grilled pork chop, with its seasoning of lemongrass, was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious! Eating spoonfuls of the sweetly marinated pork, after being dipped into the sweet Viet fish sauce provided, with the broken rice and shredded pork were the best parts of my meal. I really like the side bowl of what tastes like a pork broth soup as it adds more flavour to the overall meal. Unfortunately, I was disappointed in both the overcooked fried egg and the undercooked pork loaf. Despite those elements though, I still enjoyed the majority of the dish and I probably would give it another try next time we visit.
My babes food came only after another few minutes, but to my hungry babes, it felt like an eternity. I really liked the look of her crispy chicken on top of a messy bed of sliced lettuce and a large bowl of egg and rice noodles filled with a pork broth soup including onions, lemongrass, coriander, bean sprouts, fried shallots and surprisingly roasted cashews. My babes wasn't keen on the cashews or onions so I added them to my soup and I really liked it. The noodles and soup were quite enjoyable but the best part of my babes dish had to be the fried chicken! Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, the fried chicken was mostly well cooked with some of the meat closest to the bone a little pink showing it slightly undercooked. Despite that, the parts of the chicken that we did eat was quite delicious, especially when dipping it into the sweet chilli sauce that came with the dish.
It didn't take us long to finish our meals and we were off again. Quick service, delicious food and great value for money (as both of our meals cost less than $20 altogether) makes me highly recommend Co Do; a fantastic Vietnamese restaurant in Sunshine to dine at when you have time or budget constraints.
Highly recommend their thick crab noodle soup! So tasty and satisfying! They are usually really busy during dinner time but luckily we waited for only 10mins or so. We also had the pork and prawn noodle soup which we demolished in like 5 mins
Friday night family dinner. Nothing alcoholic on the menu but you can BYO with no corkage. Everyone loved the stuffed chicken wings, spring rolls & honey BBQ pork to start. We shared fried rice, sizzling Mongolian beef, chicken with veg and salt & pepper squid for main. Fed 4 hungry adults for $90. Will be back.
I'm quite impressed with this restaurant even though it's my first time here. I ordered Banh Xeo and Banh Bot Loc. Banh Xeo is huge in size and is so delicious. It has crispy texture and the flour is very thin. I love the fact that you can wrap it in lettuce and add herbs which make it very flavourful. I also got some Banh Bot Loc which is different and tasty. The avocado smoothie is awesome as well. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere although it looks a bit dark from the outside (I actually thought that it was closed for a moment). However, it's really cosy inside and the restaurant was really busy. Nice staff and good service.
One of the best Vietnamese places by far, I've actually traveled around Vietnam and there food here is spot on! We visit this place easily once twice a week due to the fact it's so good and affordable and the service is just amazing for such a busy place so quick and friendly. Easily Sunshines Best.
A real gem in the western suburbs. It's my first time dining in Sunshine and a very good experience. The portions are so enormous and prices are reasonable, and most important of all, the food is amazing. We followed others' advice and ordered their bun bo hue and pancake (banh xeo), and also had the whole fried flounder and stir fry water spinach with garlic. First came the bun bo hue - we shared a large one between the two of us and I really enjoyed the soup. It's different to what I've had at other places, and there was a lot of meat in it too. Then came the pancake and honestly it was my first time trying out this dish so I couldn't make a comparison, but it was crispy and well-fried with fresh ingredients inside so we thought it was pretty good and definitely lives up to its reputation. It was very big too... I thought it was just an entree but I was surprised to see how huge it was. The fried fish was tasty but in my opinion a bit too heavily battered and rather greasy. In addition, it was not fresh because the flesh was not tender at all and tasted like it had been in the freezer for a long time. Definitely won't be ordering that next time. Stir fry water spinach was delicious (what could go wrong with a vegetable stir fry?) and plentiful. In the end we managed to finish everything (just) although we were pretty bloated (but happy and satisfied!)... I think we ordered a bit too much for just the two of us. The bill came to a mere $65 for four dishes. We will certainly be coming back regularly!
