Very authentic Malaysian Indian food. Will be back for more - we really enjoyed the food!
We found another gem! If you like roti canai, you have to come here, we love the roti canai and the curry they served is very close to home. Dhal is so good, is just like how it taste like back home.
The teh tarik is not as close but its fine, we ordered the less sweet version. A cup of hot teh tarik is just nice for today’s super cold weather. There are many other food to try here, we will be back for more. The lady who served us is also very friendly 😁
.... next to try is their banana leaf rice and mee mamak!
Tried this little restaurant on the weekend for dinner. Simple decoration, very homely. We ordered nasi lemak, roti telur and maggi goreng. Food was close to the flavors in malaysia and each dish was made fresh to order. We will definitely be back to try more
I hop in this place after seeing reviews on Facebook Cari Makan Page!
Roti canai is flaky and freshly made, eat it when it's freshly served! Banana leaf comes in big serve! We had their fish curry with banana leaf rice. Indian rojak is good too but I wish I could get a bit more sauce.
Overall, highly recommend this place for food if you aren't after the ambience. I would keep coming back!
Edit: I love this place. I keep intending to try another local, but the banana leaf and teh tarik combination is too hard to resist. Veggies in banana leaf change each day so it doesn't get boring. I've only tried a few meat dishes, they were great too. Service is friendly and helpful, the only downside is they're a little disorganised.
Will come back for:
+ Mango Lassi
+ Teh Tarik
+ Banana Leaf Meal
+ Roti Canai
+ Char Kway Teow
This unassuming place doesn’t have much of an atmosphere. The decor is plain, the tables haphazardly thrown together. But what this place lacks in presentation, it more then makes up with a generosity in spirit and exceptional authentic flavors. We loved the banana leaf meal. The hot spiced vegetables, pickles, curries and rice releases a gentle fragrance off the banana leaf as soon as it is served on it. And gives the dish that little bit of something special. The roti canai was huge - fluffy and finger licking delicious. The char kway teow was spiced with Indian flavors but cooked to perfection and a spin on the traditional dish that is quite nice. The ladies serving tonight really makes you feel welcomed and everything was generously portioned and super affordable for what you get. Nothing pretentious here, just good ol’ tasty food. Will definitely be back for more of the same!
I can smell that familiar Indian restaurant just like back in Malaysia. Off to a good start. Had banana leaf rice. Loved the vegetables given; cabbage, pumpkin and mixed gourd). Ordered ayam madu (honey chicken Indian style) and kari kambing (goat curry). Goat curry was delicious. Ayam madu needed that extra kick of flavour, felt that something was missing. My friend enjoyed her murtabak kambing. Will definitely be back to try their tosai, mee goreng and roti canai.
Came here for lunch with the wifey as had been recommended by my sister. I'm a sucker for banana leaf indian rice. The food was good, had a variety of vegetables, rassam, dried chilli, nice sour pickles, yoghurt, and even the mango lassi was nice and thick.
They mostly just served dhal with the rice and we needed to order some curries to spicy it up, hoped next time they will serve chicken and fish curry to spread on the rice too.
I felt this restaurant is still finding its own feet. The service was not great, we waited a good 10 minutes before being served and taking our orders, and had gaps inbetween asking and getting stuff, either they are understaffed or could use someone dedicated to servicing the tables. But once the food eventually all came, all was well.
Will look to be back in the near future to try their other dishes. I would rate this place a 3.5 star for now.
Great food. Most authentic banana leaf I've had in Melbourne on the West side. Even comes with rassam and deep fried dried chillies. Also had lamb murtabak, which my non-Malaysian partner loved. Would have loved to try their chicken dum briyani too, will come back again for it in future.
Only downside was service, which was a bit slow and we had to ask for things a few times. The staff were overall friendly though.
