Review Citrique Restaurant - Surfers Paradise

We booked for a birthday dinner, it was so good. The seafood was so fresh and there were so many options to choose from. The oysters were definitely our favourite along with the mussels. The buffet was always full. The sides were also great! The crunchy potatos were delicious. It’s worth the $120 per person. I love the venue, the entrance is amazing.

Fine dining at its best with plenty of food! Hubby got the 3 course meal for $89 (pork belly, beef, mango cheesecake). I got the lamb with a side salad. All dishes are exquisite in taste and presentation. Highly recommend

Heard it’s the best buffet on Gold Coast. Thought to give it a try on Easter night. The dishes are not much given the price is 120$ pp. The seafood is fresh. There is a waitress who dropped a can of Pepsi on the floor and it spills on a few other guests including my friend. They just cleaned it without saying anything. Would not coming back but can give a try if you want given that the ambiance is good.

My friend told me we were going to try crocodile meat and kangaroo tails (≧∀≦),I was looking forward to it. It’s so nice, beyond my expectation! The menu is designed for Australia Day, and every dish is really iconic, and I learned many Australia foods. e.g. I didn’t know crocodile is common in northern regions. The baby carrots must have roasted with honey/sugar, it tasted like sweet potato.

A lovely culinary experience. A high staff/guest ratio meant our every need was covered very quickly. A great birthday night. Special praise to Jay Jay for your attentive service.

Had seafood buffets for dinner on Friday nigh, great service, waitress are so nice and friendly, my waiter is Nosh he made my day, he gave me a little surprise, it was a beautiful plate with two word “love” and “joy”.

The whole experience was phenomenal. From making the booking to being greeted the second we entered the hotel. Our waiters & other staff were very attentive to us & to other diners. It was extremely refreshing to see the personal contact between staff & diners. People greeted us by name & acknowledge our anniversary. Franco the restaurant Manager was very friendly, kind & took the time to talk to us. He & other people in company suits were assisting other team members clear tables. All staff were happy & very approachable. No question was a bother. . The food was fresh, great variety & very filling. Amazing service. We will be back.

My experience here was absolutely perfect. From the first plate to the last, there was amazing service and food presentation in ample amounts. 10/10

It is disappointing. Yes it is a seafood buffet but other than seafood, other food shall be appealling too. For seafood, oysters and prawn are ok. The lobster is good. Sashimi is disappointing. For hot food, the quality is really not a 5 star hotel standard. Dessert is also disappointing although I do enjoy the ice cream. For a seafood buffet, the stars are the seafood so I don't mind there is not enough variety of hot food but I do mind the quality is not there. For dessert, usually it is another big thing for me but most of them are not nice. I also noted one customer put the dessert back to the dessert table after they took them to their table and then decide not to have them. I don't know if the staff noted that. 🤔 I haven't had a seafood buffet for a long time and perhaps I have too much of an expectation.

Visited last night & was by far the best buffet we have ever been to. So much variety & not a single thing that us 3 adults & 2 kids didn’t enjoy. The staff were lovely & very attentive from collecting our plates, forks etc to the drink service. Nothing worse than waiting for a drink half way through your meal. Will definitely be returning as we were 100% happy with everything. Big thumbs up from me & my family.

The food was amazing. The seafood was fresh and plentiful. Excellent variety of cold dishes. The desserts were delicious and plenty to choose from, not to mention the icecream and on tap M & Ms. The staff were amazing. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Once again the food was just amazing and the staff were lovely. A great way to spend our 39th wedding anniversary. I would highly recommend Citrique to anyone who appreciates great food and great service.

We were here last july 2016 and were very impressed with this place. That impressed we decided to come back with family tonight. What a disappointment! The food quality has changed. The very small oysters weren't even worth the effort of eating. Tasteless, unlike last year, lovely size and plump and full of flavour. Desert bar is nothing to talk about. Not much of a selection . Good for kids if you want ice cream. Won't be back again.

Exceptional service- staff is very welcoming and very accommodating. Sea food was a good quality but not as broad choice as other seafood places we've been to. I wish there was more salted and smoked fish variety. But I would really recommend wood fire pizza, that was hand made right in front of your eyes and amazing thin base. The dessert was OK. Nothing special. But we loved all our complimentary drinks and chocolate.

Very fresh seafood includes Oysters, crabs, prawns and Morton Bay Bugs, yummy hot food with variety. The people there are all very enthusiastic, energetic, friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time there on Sunday lunch. Will definitely recommend more friends to visit.
Melinda Pawluk
The cold seafood was good, fresh and plentiful. Wasn't too fussed by dessert or the other hot options though. The price of a bottle of wine was ridiculous... $52 for a bottle I can get at Dan Murphy's for $18
Colin Paull
Great staff so friendly we booked and got a private table away from the crowd just plenty of seafood a must
James Gruden
Way over-priced - it is a shellfish buffet not a seafood buffet and all he other food is no better than a Sizzler. Totally not worth 90 bucks a person.
Teresa Parisi
Staff are amazing..... Every time! Food is always fresh and beautifully displayed. There is a good variety of food to choose from. When we visit the Gold Coast Citrique is a must for us every visit! We love it for breakfast, lunch or Diner :)

Went for dinner For a special occasion on Saturday night service was excellent the food was poor. Everything we had was cold or just warm, the roast beef was like chewing through rubber. The Drinks were way over top you don't mind paying $8.50 for a rum but when you also get charged $6 dollars for the can of coke. That' Bloody disgusting they making a good profit here that's for sure. We definatly won't be going back.

The seafood and service was exceptional! Definitely the best seafood buffet I've been to so far

Had Mother’s Day here and loved it! Great staff, great food! Thank you

Citrique is a high end buffet in the Marriott Surfers Paradise with beautiful atmosphere and great service. They serve a seafood buffet for dinner (and lunch on the weekend) and a breakfast buffet every day.

The issue I had with the seafood buffet was that I didn't actually like 2/3rds of the seafood. The cooked salmon was delicious. And the salmon sashimi wasn't bad either. But the oysters lacked any liquor and were rather bland. As were the scallops. The crab probably was tasty once but it had been overcooked. They had a broiled oyster dish (Oysters Kilpatrick) but it was more a bacon delivery system than a dish for a seafood lover. And while the fish inside the sushi was fine (they had only maki, no nigiri) the rice itself was too cold, hard/brittle, and undervinegared.

They did have a nice selection of cheeses, breads/crackers, and sweet desserts and I very much appreciated the fresh coffee (or tea) provided with dessert. And the wine list was excellent (I had a glass of a Sauvignon Blanc that complemented the salmon nicely). And as I said, the decor is lovely and the service impeccable. I just wish the seafood was better.

Everything I put on my plate was delicious and top quality. Recommend going here at least once a year.

Not much choices. Didn't expect that only salmon sashimi is being servered. Less than hot dishes. The only shining point is the service. Not recommend to come if you are not having the half price coupon.

Breakfast buffet was amazing spanner crab and salmon omelette with eggs benny plus pastries and all kinds of juice this buffet is amazing definitely spend $40 for breakfast the decors beautiful and the service was excellent for how busy it was

Was so disappointed with our experience, we came 3 years ago and loved it and were so excited to be returning, but unfortunately the food has taken a turn for the worse. They still refer themselves to a seafood buffet, even though the only fresh seafood they had was the salmon sashimi everything else had been frozen, the crab (that smelled off), oysters and prawns that is the limit to their seafood. The rest of the food just looks like processed junk, no live cooking stations, desserts straight out of a packet and thawed. The only good part was getting out of there. Not worth the price tag, Will definitely not be returning and most certainly would not recommend. Shame on you Marriott
1st class breakfast buffet, everyone was very helpful and professional. A special thanks to steve and shoalin for the extra help with our little ones, mad for a relaxing morning.

Rate: 4.5/5
We dined here Friday night for the famous seafood buffet. And I’ve got to say, one of the best seafood buffets I’ve been too. The seafood was fresh and the hot food was also delicious with lots to choose from. The 4.5/5 and not 5 would be due to the dessert bar which could be improved... desserts were nice but none were a stand out for us and could benefit from more variety. The staff is what made our night so memorable though - our waitress Ildiko was friendly, attentive and kept checking on us to make sure we were okay despite being run off her feet. Nobu was outstanding, I had told him we are out celebrating me becoming a registered pharmacist and he came out with a special dessert platter and chocolates. Absolutely fantastic service, thank you for making our night so memorable.

The seafood is not fresh at all. It is not worthy spending 80 dollars per person. For the other hot food, the taste is not good either. Very disappointed. It gave my Chinese friend the impression that the seafood restaurant in Australia wasn’t good at all. Very embarrassed of me to bring her here for the seafood. Actually any other restaurant serves better seafood than Citrique. Waste of money.

I stayed at the Marriott and had breakfast at Citrique daily - the buffet had plenty to offer, and I loved the smoked salmon and the salad bar. Being in sunny Queensland, I expected a few more tropical fruits to be on offer. Perhaps some more thought could be put into the Asian dishes to the growing number of tourists from the region? The miso soup was excellent, but how about more than just steamed white rice and bbq pork buns? Some of the best breakfast buffets I've had were in Singapore and Vietnam - perhaps leverage off the hotels from that region? I also had dinner at Citrique - buffet is not really my thing, so just ordered a la carte. The duck was excellent, as was the barramundi.
Farzana
Citrique ticks all the boxes for an excellent hotel restaurant. I had the pleasure of dining for breakfast and lunch. The breakfast buffet has most of your favourite fare with a few oriental touches such as miso soup and steamed rice. Potentially could have more variety though. We didn’t have the buffet for dinner, opting for the a la carte instead which did not disappoint. Service was excellent and little touches like a hand written note on my cocktail was much appreciated.

I visited here on my birthday. Everything was great! I loved oyster, fresh salmon, smoked salmon.... every seafood here was really tasty! As I saw some bad review before I went there on Zomato which made me anxious, but what I found was it's just a great restaurant! And not only seafood but they carried many kind of hot dishes that also satisfied us a lot!( I really loved a grilled salmon with cream sauce and curry-tasted chicken! The salad section was also nice.) In addition, service was lovely. Waitresses are always trying to satisfy us by cleaning up our table quickly and coming to us a lot to check our water glasses and wine glasses.

They took a photo of us and celebrated me with such a pretty card. Also, the end of dinner they carried a birthday plate singing a song for me. Who could expect to receive birthday surprise twice?😂

Oh and I shouldn't miss to write about dessert section which had a lot of kind of amazing sweets! I really loved something like custard pudding with comported apple(?).

Thank you citrique for making my birthday that wonderful!

Came here for wife birthday. Great presentation. I must admit buffet not my thing. This place fails to deliver. Started with oysters kilpatrick. They were small and cold:( I ate the turkey, ok. Beef in sauce was nice. Pizza average. Only go here because my wife seems to like it. Not sure why. Per head price way too high for what it is:(

Exactly what you expect from a 5 Star hotel. Brilliant service, friendly staff and a wide selection of food for breakfast and dinner. My one complaint is that lunch is the same as dinner and it would have been nice to have a different selection for every meal.
Reegan N Luke Bourgeois
Below average quality food. Really disappointed and underwhelmed with the variety and taste of the seafood buffet ($65pp). I didn't come with any expectations, but wow was I really bummed. I really wanted to like tbe food, but was left wanting. Moreton bay bugs, crab, sashimi, baked salmon...just blah. Desserts and table service were my highlight. You let us down, Marriott.
Milad Talebian
Wide selection but poorly executed. In arrival the first thing you note is the unpleasant smell of seafood buffet. Cutlery and dishes were dirty and the environment was too noisy with live music.
Yohana Setiati
Very nice spread of food..
Came in very late for our breakfast buffet, but the lovely chef Ash served us very patiently.
Omelette station including smoked salmon and camembert cheese, it was more than expected.
Asian station with steamed BBQ pork buns, steamed rice and congee, steamed vegs and asian pickles/condiments complete it all for both mine and hubby's taste. Lady at the entrance / host was very humble and kind.
Grand and cozy ambiance perfecting the experience, if only for the coffee cups would be much better with white china cups and saucers..hence i didn't have my coffee this morning, and opt for the juice instead.
Overall very enjoyable breakfast ~ definitely will be back.

We had buffet here tonight, great service but poor quality and little variaties of food. Overall it is a disappointing experience,I would say it is greatly over rated. Crabs and oysters are not fresh at all,hot dishes taste okay but the dessert bar simply turned us down.
Juneren
I find this buffet in zomato, had high expectations, but when we got there, the food is really not good, the oysters and crabs are so not fresh, and all the other food is so not worth the money, very dispointed !

We love Citrique. Staff are always friendly, nice seating, and the food is delicious.
We found the dinner buffet to have a good selection of food, including fresh seafood and the dessert bar never disappoints!

The only issue I personally have, is that I don't eat a lot of red meat and don't eat beef at all and would like to see, perhaps, gravy out with red meat dishes or more chicken and/or seafood dishes prepared.
I found the few times I have gone there, there seemed to be a 'meat of the night' with a few dishes made with the same type of meat and the roast looked dry. Maybe it was just the nights we were there...I am not sure but there is plenty to eat other than meat....and we will return.
Good Food Good Mood
I've paid many a visit to the seafood buffet in the beautiful Marriott hotel. The pretty pool area you look onto is the perfect backdrop for such a dining experience but on this occasion we were off to sample the breakfast offering. There was good variety but for $42pp I was a little underwhelmed but several things. Firstly the pastries didn't really taste fresh. There was a separate section on the upstairs part of the split level room that had what appeared to be freshly baked croissants which were nice but it didn't make a lot of sense to have the jams on the bottom floor section away from them. Secondly the waffles looked good but the sauces were pretty awful. The chocolate in particular was a watery tasteless syrupy mess. The caramel faired a little better and was pretty good on the pancakes which were nice and fluffy. Tater tots instead of hash browns? Pretty sure they were of the frozen variety and not very appealing. The baked beans however tasted house made and were in a rich tomato sauce which was delicious. One thing I loved was the fresh juice in particular the watermelon and apple one. I would have loved to have seen a lemon curd near the pancakes and some smashed avocado. The staff were faultless and the interiors were beautifully decked out with lots of lovely fresh flowers but overall plenty of room for improvement food wise. The nearby QT buffet is incomparable

Had breakfast buffet here and it was quite good but there were a few things that need improvement. The selection was broad, but for example the hash browns were just reheated potato gems. I expect more for the price. Would have been nice to see some chia pudding, fruit compotes, and avocados. Pancakes were a little rubbery. Croissants were good. Coffee needed work and was also not included in the price.

We came here for the seafood dinner buffet and we were greeted by a friendly host who walked us to our table and explained the buffet to us. The seafood spread was really fresh and there was a good variety of hot and cold dishes at the buffet. There was an array of toppings for the ice-creams too. Each of the staff we encountered were pleasant and friendly. It was an enjoyable evening.

In celebration of the Olympics, Citrique is taking their guests on a tour around the world through the exploration of taste during their International Food Festival. Located on the ground floor of Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa, Citrique is a seafood lover’s dream come true. The seafood selection at this buffet restaurant includes everything from Tasmanian smoked salmon, crab, and bugs to fresh prawns and scallops. During the festival, you can find everything from American corn chowder, Japanese sashimi, to Chinese chow mein, and French whole salmon with lemon butter and a side of cauliflower gratin. But, save some room for your dessert as the ice cream station is absolutely incredible.
Cruise
We went there on a Saturday night (Mexican themed). The atmosphere was fantastic - live music and waitress walking around offering specialty food (on top of what was available through the buffet). The seafood buffet was amazing, my favourite in south east Queensland! The choices were endless! Mind you the nachos were yummy too!

Dined here to celebrate our anniversary, received great service from staff who got us a more private table away from the crowd. Food was fantastic, there is a great selection to choose from and seafood buffet is great for all those seafood lovers. We even received complimentary cupcakes! Will definitely be returning.

Went there for our wedding anniversary.. The food was outstanding! Everyone at our table loved it.. The variety of seafood was great, and each of us found hot dishes we liked... The dessert section was breathtaking, so many varieties... And the ice creams... Best buffet we've been too on the Gold Coast.. Thank you for such a great evening and helping us celebrate our wedding anniversary. Will definitely be back and recommend you to our friends and family.

I have to say that the buffet here is fine, coming here and realised the place was over-hyped. An OK selection of assorted seafood and other cooked dishes. The oysters however did not taste very fresh and has lost its natural flavour as well as a few other seafood. The hot selections such as the grilled beef and steamed pork buns were quite chewy and dry. However the other hot selections were quite nice. The service was great and hospitable. Some good some bad, but I wouldn't recommend to others to try the (quality of) food here for its price.
Matthew Brown
I stayed at the Marriott for a night and thought we would try the buffet for dinner as had read good things about it. I was disappointed in the selection and quality of the food. The seafood was nice especially the baked salmon, but most other offerings were substandard almost bain-marie style food. The dessert bar is excellent. Maybe I have been spoiled around the world with awesome buffets but this one was poor given the cost and other food offering at the Marriott.
Erika-Anne
What an amazing brekkie here! It's a buffet style and lots of food you can taste. They are fresh and tasty. One of my favorite is the omlet which the chef makes infront of us. You'll enjoy how they make it. You are able to choose the ingredients such like bacon, veggies, olive etc! You can order your own one. Fresh fruit and fruit juice, pancake, muffins, I love all. Worth trying
Caterina Fonti
One of the best buffets we've been to, extensive variety of tantalising seafood was fresh abundant, the desert bar and icecream bars variety of decadent sauces and topping are to die for you would wish you had a second stomach.

Dissapointing. We visited Citrique for our anniversary.
We were treated pleasantly and lead to a table. What surprised me was that although the restaurant was empty we were seated right near the toilets without a view. There was also very little atmosphere in the restaurant even some light music would have been nice.

The waitstaff were average, not what I would expect for a restaurant in the Marriot. My seat was not pulled out for me and a dish of empty seafood shells weren't cleared from our table until after we finished dessert. You could really tell that most of the staff didn't want to be there.

The selection and freshness of the seafood was underwhelming for the price paid. Salads were boring and there wasn't a great selection of other foods to choose from.

Deserts were almost inedible, ice cream half defrosted, creme caramel was hard and unpleasant.

Would not return, especially for the price paid.

Outstanding quality, service and variety. We've been to Citrique for dinner buffets and breakfast buffets and have never been disappointed. The variety of food is extensive and the freshness is amazing considering it's a buffet. Highly recommended.

A wonderful evening. We were travelling to Gold Coast to celebrate my wife's birthday a couple of weeks ago. We had made reservations at the teppanyaki but had to make last minute changes and ended up at Critique. I have to say that they truly saved our night and made the experience worthwhile. The food was delicious and the service was second to none. I have to give a shout out to our waiter - I forget his name but it was an Indian guy who was just a joy.
Lde75
Great but too expensive for Kids. Loved the varieties of different food and beautiful seafood. We go there when we have special event but I always find that Kids' price is too high. 7 year old son only eats pasta and bread and he had to pay $40 for it.
Daniel
Best buffet ever!. We were greeted with a personalized tour of the entire buffet followed by the amazing food itself. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, definitely worth the $85!
Simone McDonald
AMAZING. Wow! Buffets are one of my favorite places to eat and this was by far the best ive had. The quality of food is fantastic and the choices are endless. I piled my plate again and again with the ribs, duck and sweet potato mash. Melt in your mouth delicious! I will be back!!!

Dined here recently for breakfast and dinner, both buffet. Lovely service (professional and friendly). Definitely coming back and highly recommend. Standout is that it is a family friendly restaurant while in a five star hotel.
Melza
Mmmmm. Ok service is great when you get a person with a lovely smile but the night we went it was like she didn't want to be working. However we were not turned off by the lovely well cooked a la cart meal we had. Breakfast staff were just as bad but can not complain about the food its 9 out of 10.
Jhawk
Seafood buffet heaven. This large restaurant in the Marriott hotel is excellent if you like the buffet style of eating. The selection is vast and not limited to seafood, $85 per adult and half price for children up to 12 it is well worth the price. Warning, ordering from the menu will result in extreme disappointment.
Lu
Unimpressed. Great variety of seafood so if you're happy with just that than you will enjoy this experience. Everything else - cooked foods, soups, antipasto etc were an extreme let down. Not worth $80+! Only go if you're happy to mainly eat cold seafood.

Service is not efficient Oy.... Service is not efficient
Oysters are slimy

Sat night buffet - sadly not great value for money. A large group of us (11 ppl) went here for Sat night buffet & the resounding opinion was that the quality & selection has gone downhill from what it used to be & that @ $85 p/head there are better value for money buffets nearby. The non-seafood dishes have been reduced substatially so if you are not an avid seafood lover this buffet is simply not worth the money. The seafood on the positive side was fresh and abundant. The dessert options were very disappointing and well below par - we felt more aimed at a kiddie market. Nothing special is an understatement. People in our group had recently dined at Bazaar in Surfers for the buffet & said the quality, selection & service was all far superior to what we experienced at Citrique last night. Bazaar is also less expensive!! We were all huge fans of the Marriott buffet in times past so it was probably more disappointing as we had an expectation based on our previous experience. So we will take our next group buffet dining to Bazaar.

Exceptionally designed and decorated, this restaurant is outstanding in both food and presentation. The buffet choices are substantial and the produce of the highest quality. Check out their Facebook site for special offers. The only let down was virtually nonexistent customer service and slowest of slow plate clearing. We were never once asked if we wanted more drinks, no one came to pour wine ever, and we ate dessert with mains plates, finger bowls and crab shells piled up in front. Coffee? Not sure if they have it as no one asked if we wanted any nor was there someone available to ask.
Despite this, definitely recommend checking it out.

I tend to avoid buffets as the hot food options often leave much to be desired. Based on the good reviews, we decided to venture down to Citrique for father's day. We absolutely loved it. The seafood was as fresh as it could be. Unlimited sashimi is always a plus in my book. The hot food/dessert was of an equally high standard. Can't wait to go back!

One of My Fav Buffets. Marriott Hotel Buffet breakfast, lunch & dinner is one of the three best buffets in Gold Coast I'd suggest to family and friends. The price is not too hefty with what they supply. Fresh seafood, good service and a wonderful hotel, what more can I expect? I rate this place a good 7/10

This review is for the breakfast buffet and a la carte.
Would we return? Yes
Good? Variety and good quality
Bad? Minor issues

The buffet is huge with a wide variety of continental and cooked options including a waffle and pancake bar and omelettes made to order. At $36 ($39 on Sundays) it's not cheap, but we've paid more for a lot less at certain establishments in Brisbane and if you're looking to fill up for a big day you'll do well here. I was impressed by the quality of food. I tend to associate buffets with wilted salads and cold soggy eggs that have been sitting around far too long but this was not the case.
It is unfortunate that only filtered coffee is included, you'll pay extra for a latte and service was a little slow on day 2 when we ordered from the a la carte menu.
Overall a pleasant and tasty experience.

A mid-week dinner at Citrique was very disappointing. Hard for a buffet to work with only a few occupied tables. The food tries hard, but just lacked the pizzazz that other nearby five star buffets enjoy.

Really fresh, well presented seafood u nAme it it was there! Lots of other great food on offer but was full after the seafood but saved room for some great deserts!

Huge selection of all varieties of food. Crab, natural oysters & scallops were fantastic, as was the selection of antipasto, cheeses, all sauces & dressings. Carvery meat was chewy, but roast potatoes amazing. Asian selection was ok - braised pork belly to die for!! Spring rolls were horrible. Pizza was ok but cold. Oysters kilpatrick were a huge let-down; the one thing I was most looking forward to. They weren't fresh out of oven (maybe had been left to sit for a long time, then reheated in microwave or something). The oyster itself was chewy, bacon mushy & they didn't seem to have any sauce on them. I found none of the hot food actually hot - lukewarm if lucky. Dessert range huge & tasted fantastic. Overall, I did enjoy the night.. I will be back again, next time knowing exactly what's good & what's not!

I surrender!! The buffet has beaten me hands down!! Great choice in seafood. Oh BTW QT doesn't have sashimi or scallops. Citrique does. But pricey but u walk away satisfied. I went with an empty stomach and attacked the seafood area... fresh oysters, spanner crab, salmon tuna sashimi, prawns, muscles, moreton bay bugs.... oh there's BBQ prawns on the other side w/ the roast meats. QT has its hot food as a niche... this place has seafood... mind u don't expect top grade.. it's gooood quality. but in managing expectations don't expect fine dining seafood grade. After all it's a Buffett!! :)

Saturday night buffet. Exceptional service and great variety of food. The most variety i've seen, like in a 5 star hotel overseas. Quite expensive though and setting is very formal. Good for date but not so for family with kids as everyone acts very elegantly.

This used to be the best Marriott buffet breakfast in the world. Sadly now it is average. The champagne has gone, you have to pay extra for things that used to be included, like hot chocolate or barrister coffee. Chef behind counter who cant understand english. Waitress chewing gum and another has a lovely muffin top. Slow service, soggy 'egg benedict' either incorrect spelling on labels or no labels at all. Cheap baked beans that taste cheap. Cost cutting is obvious but the price had not gone down just the standard. Blinds pulled down when it was lovely outside making it appear dark and dingy inside. Floor is filthy. On the plus side they have done the toilets up since the last time I was here, which is just as well because they were horrid. I miss you old Marriott breakfasts. Please come back.

Great buffet. My boyfriend took me to Citrique for my birthday. Such a beautiful restaurant and it is the best seafood buffet I've had. Seafood was so fresh, and the live cooking station was great, with the chef making a lovely laksa soup! I'll definitely be going there again. One thing about the service - my boyfriend cut his finger badly a mudcrab, and it took 10 minutes for staff to bring a bandaid. A lady from the table next to us had to give us one from her bag while we waited. Didn't bother us too much, we will be back :)

Fantastic buffet. Full seafood selection with many other foods available (Thai, carvery, pizza and an amazing selection of desserts). Service was great. We will definitely go back!

Value for money. Citrique the revamp of Lagoon restaurant is very impressive. The menu has also changed. Definitely improved. I have been to the buffet several times. The food overall is fantastic. My only critique is that the raw oysters are not 100% fresh. Service most times were outstanding.

The food is…. well I don’t think I need to gush on any more about that – incredible. And all in all this has been my favourite feastcation to date. It’ll be a hard one to beat, so I’m already considering my return trip, just to make sure it’s really that good.

Having undergone a $20 million refurbishment last year, Citrique sparkles with sophistication, cream granite pillars offsetting the dark timber floor and furniture, the opulent colours of autumn crowned with golden leaves suspended from discs of light overhead. Floor to ceiling glass on two sides of the restaurant overlook the lush tropical gardens and rainforest pool. It’s now one of our favourite settings – for a drink in the co

Overall we really enjoyed our lunch, it’s such good value that I recommend it and will be going back. The restaurant was pretty busy with a number of large tables and the service and quality of food on the buffet didn’t suffer at all. This is the second time I’ve been pleasantly surprised by a buffet. This doesn’t mean I’m rushing off to Sizzler any time soon, just that I’ll try to keep a bit more of an open mind about them in future.

It has definitely been modernised. The Marriott has always had "live" cooking stations at their buffet which allows guest to order custom made dishes and interact with the chef as the order is completed.
