A bit tricky to find for non-local but worth the journey. An authentic Japanese restaurant from ambience to food. Season's special offered and good to try. Friendly service and food were served in a prompt manner. Gets busy so better to go early and make sure to book in advance.

The best Japanese restaurant in Australia. Love their idea of food. The ox tongue is melting in your mouth. Sashimi and the teppayaki are so good. It’s fresh and good quality food. The house made dessert is delightful. Service is promptly. The only thing for that missing star is the soft shell crab roll. Soft shell crab is not fresh cook enough for me. And the rice portion is a little bit too much compare to the crab size. But it’s only a little thing for the whole dinner. I will definitely give 4.5 if Google map let me do it.

This place is as authentic as you can get - and great value for money! The sashimi was incredibly fresh, sukiyaki was delicious, skewers were a delight! Incredible sake and v tasty chu-hai to match! They also had more esoteric options like a variety of ochazuke dishes that you dont see often but didnt get to try… this time anyway. Must try if youre in the area!

Really authentic Japanese food. It is probably one of the best Japanese restaurant we had been to. The price moderate comparing to similar restaurants in Sydney and Melbourne.

The ambient is good. The service is good. The price is on expensive side. The food is good except the sukiyaki, i prefer stronger side and my sukiyaki has a bit bitter taste somehow. But overall is good japanese restaurant

The food, especially my sashimi, was so fresh and divinely presented, the service efficient and friendly and the restaurant atmosphere authentic it felt like we could actually be in Japan! Could eat here every day!

Delightful little restaurant, full of people on a Sunday night. Great menu and tasty food. Only complaint was serves were on the small side. I would return though for the lovely flavours. BYO bottled wine. Lots of beers available but not a great wine list.

I have been to Japan some 11 times over the past 40 odd years so please trust me when I say that this is a great and truly authentic Japanese restaurant, with an optional yet interesting skew towards some Osaka cuisine favourites. It has a casual family vibe, extensive izakaya tapas style menu and I think quite reasonable prices. My two consecutive weeknight evening visits showed lots of Japanese guests - always a good indicator. Do yourself a flavour!

This was my first experience with Authentic Japanese food, it was a complete and total experience that was simply the best. The friends who took me there were experienced and could even speak the lingo , it was out of this world and I loved everything we tried.
I don't know if there would be another Japanese restaurant that could come close to this for friendly service and superb fresh food, but next time I'm in Surfers I will definitely revisit.
