Loved that I could watch my food be cooked and everything was delicious and fresh. The chef was friendly and the service was great. Was a bit of a wait in line while waiting for other orders to be cooked but so worth it. Highly recommend �

An amazing experience! Everything is made fresh to order right in front of you so you can vary the ingredients if required. I had the zoodles with a creamy mushroom sauce, my partner had Gnocchi, our other dining companions had two different Pastas and a pizza and my 5yo had a kids pizza. Everything was beautifully prepared, cooked and served. It was a Friday night and pretty busy but the service was pretty fast considering and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The only criticism I had was that I would’ve loved to have had some chicken in my pasta sauce but maybe that was an option and I just didn’t see it? Who knows! In any case I’d eat there again if we were back in Surfers!
Visited this place today. Their seating was great. Had their freshly made spaghetti with mushrooms and chicken which was delicious. Even had their pasta with prawns which too was very good. Their servers too were great.
Good pizzas. Not super kids friendly in that a lot of the tables are high tables with bar chairs, but our 5yo managed. Nice and clean and the bar is good. Very good food, we ordered pizzas and salads and a couple of beers. Interesting ordering system in that you’re given a swipe card to order in different queues for pizza, pasta, all other starters and sides, and drinks. Your order will be loaded on the card, which you take to the cashier to pay at the end of your meal. Minimal wait time on a weeknight but can be annoying if the place is super busy. Good experience overall for an area notoriously full of tourist traps.
Booking for 2 - attended on a Friday evening (7/6/19) at 6pm. Eye Opener insofar as did not realise this was a walk up to kitchen, point out the menu items and have them cooked in front of you. Pizza and Pastas are the theme.
I ordered a linguine with olive oil and garlic base with sauteed mushrooms and chili. The outcome was very tasty and my pasta cooked well al dente. My wide ordered penne with a pesto base and sauteed chicken pieces. Both were very tasty but my wife's penne was under-cooked perhaps by about 30-60 sec - not al dente.
Service was good, and prices were reasonable for both food and drinks. Large place perhaps sits 120 or more, good atmosphere. Spent approx $70 and had the 2 pasta dishes, 1 soft drink, 2 beers at happy hr prices, and 1 side salad.
Price value equation reasonably evenly balanced between patrons and establishment. Would come back again. Convenient, easy, for a drop in and move on to say a movie or continue on with the night's planned activities.
A fantastic different concept to have your pizza and pasta , we ordered a Chicken BBQ pizza and a chicken risotto both ver nice but my fav was risotto. Very fresh food. Location is amazing right in the centre of surfers. One should go and feel the experience.
I had the salami pizza from here last Friday! It was so delicious. The pizza had a thin dough, which I love!
It was quite busy when we came here. We ended up sitting on the balcony which was a bit more quiet. We had such a lovely night.
Situated right in middle of surfers paradise, this place is one of the best Italian restaurants we have been to. The food was divine! Fresh ingredients and the chefs cook infront of you which is so fun to watch. Excellent service, amazing location and delicious food makes it a perfect experience. Highly recommended. If you are near Surfers Paradise this place should not be missed!
Went with my mom for a late lunch around 1pm and had an amazing time!
Since it was late, there was no one in line so our food came out pretty quick. The chef was very friendly and carefully created our pastas which was delicious. They also gave us free bread which was amazing with the balsamic vinegar and olive oil on the tables. Staff was also very friendly, my mom went to get tap water and they gave us ice! Very simple gesture but very kind on a hot day in the Gold Coast. Restrooms were also very clean.

This place got an amazing location. I made a home delivery and being a vegetarian the chef was very courteous and made the way I want my food to be. I ordered pizza and pasta and it was good. Vegetarians can visit this place if they want to have Italian in gold coast

They serve some really awesome salads! We had the Ceasar Salad and the Insalata Mista, and both of them were very tasty.. The quantity of food was also good.. Things would be better, though, if they could increase the quantity of the additional toppings - as in, we had opted for additional grilled chicken, but the quantity that we got was not that much.. But food is great overall, and the ambience simply adds on to the overall experience!!

The wait was long, but all forgiven once the food hit my tongue. I ordered my usual favourite pasta and my my, it was really good.
For those who are new to Vapiano, their style is different, you can see the fish you ordered prepared right in front of you(Pasta), and plenty of help inside the restaurant if you are confused with their billing.
These guys give you a card, which can be used to order food inside, once done you pay for the dishes.
This is a good practise when you just hang out with your office colleagues, as everyone he’s a card and they can eat what they like without the hassle of bill splitting.
Interesting set up. You order your meal and stand there and watch it being cooked. A great concept but not ideal if you have kids. The card system is also interesting. Food was amazing though!

I found the lasagna good, though lacking cheese. However, when we ordered takeaway from this restaurant we were disappointed to find that they had given us the wrong dish.
Great experience, great food and lovely staff. We had the pomodoro pasta and the margarita pizza and both was delicious. I love the concept and how fresh everything is and don't mind the self-service at all. Highly recommended for lunch as they got some pasta and pizza favourites for $10-13 each!
Had the margherita pizza and the funghi risotto for dinner tonight. The pizza tasted just like that of Domino's and did not impress, the risotto however was amazing! I absolutely loved it and would definitely come back for it. I find the ordering system a bit unnecessary though, especially if the restaurant's busy.
I ordered a veg pasta Ratatouille and my husband tried prawn pasta. Both were good. I loved it and the concept of having ur food prepared in front of you was different. However I think it can make customers impatient when the queue is long. But I would go there again without a doubt.
Pastas were awesome, so were the pizzas, rissoto was great. All in all the food was awesome, and the ambience was just like iceing on the cake.
An interesting concept for a restaurant. As you enter you are given a card for each person, you then use the cards at the different servery ( bar, pizza bar & pasta bar). The card is your tab and you pay when you leave. Once you order your food you watch your being prepared right in front of you. I had the pasta gamberi and it was oh so delicious. The chef will happily adjust your spice ( chilli and garlic) to your taste. Great cocktail list, we enjoyed the happy hour cocktail jugs.
What truly makes this place a great experience is the service staff, all friendly and ensure you are left with a full belly and a smile 😀

This is by far the best place to have italian food! The concept is so amazing😍 the chef makes your pasta/pizza/rissotto or whatever ur eating right in front of you just like a subway sandwich! Being a vegetarian its quite difficult to get your flavours correct in a new country but im gonna always recommend this place! We got a mixed sauce (red and white) penne pasta with lots of vegetables and a funghi pizza done! Loved it! The ambience is great too i'd give it a 10/10.
Loved the pasta, it had so much flavour. The vibe and ambience is also great. Couldn't have spent the last night in surfers paradise at a better place.

Quite a cute idea - pick your dish, and stand there while the chef cooks it for you. Sometimes a bit of shouting backwards and forwards is necessary - there is a bit of background noise and that card machine is quite intrusive being right in the middle of the workstation - but the food was freshly cooked and very tasty. I had the mushroom pasta in a creamy sauce, hubby had the seafood risotto as it was gluten free. Fortunately the dim lighting in the restaurant made it not appear cafeteria like, as the feeling of carrying your tray back to your table could have made it feel that way, but some clever design has overcome that problem. Not terribly expensive either, so that was good. Not the most obvious location though, as it is upstairs, but that's also good, as if it was on street level it might get overrun by the yahoos that tend to hang around, seeing as it is right in the busiest area of Surfers'.
I was first getting worried because the cook was burning my garlic (the edge turned black), but I feel like they really improved on the food! My friends and I shared some pasta dishes and pizza, and everything was just amazing! The beef and chicken they serve there are halal as well for those looking for a restaurant with halal options. Super yummy.

Dinner out with the better half at Vapiano, Surfers Paradise. Ravioli Pumpkin and Chicken Pizza. Ravioli was delicious, fresh and tasty. Not sure what it was with the pizza but wasn't the best they have produced. I find Vapiano very noisy but apart from that (and the pizza) it was a good night out. Staff very friendly as usual. Prices are very reasonable for Cavill Avenue. Would go again.

We ordered a pasta and chicken Caesar salad. The pasta was al dente (handy when it's cooked right in front of you) with good sauce and a decent serving. The chicken Cesar salad was also quite tasty. Good vibe in the area and nice to go there have a meal and a couple of drinks.

The ambience was cool. The food was basic but really fresh. I enjoyed watching our meal being cooked right in front of us. There was no line on Sunday during lunchtime so service was speedy.

If you doubt where to go you go to the well known place. Similar to McDonalds, Vapiano same in all locations. It is quite average pizza/pasta. Drinks are too overpriced. Ones I had nasty upsell from chef but at the end it was waived at the cashier - thanks. Anyway it worth to go sometime when nothing else is open. In all average awful Gold Coast food experience Vapiano is much better then many others.
The self service concept was great, I loved it. The ambience was great, with fresh parsley, basil pots on every table, I like it.
The food wasn't as tasty as expected. The cook was in a rush, don't know why ( I was the only one waiting). Undercooked and salty rocket ravioli did not impress me.
Awesome place. But they can be a little bit more attentive to the table service. Asked for water and she said no. Could have already said they have some at the bar. Overall great food and that's the main thing. Will be back
Fun experience. I got a pasta dish with chicken and I counted 4 pieces of chicken in the whole dish, the amount of food was disappointing. I enjoyed the food just wish you got more for the price.
The concept is great! They just need to figure out a way to make it work a lot quicker. Our partners had already ordered and eaten their pizzas by the time we came back with our pastas. My pasta was also a little undercooked and the sauce was so salty I couldn't finish the meal and was searching for some icey cold water
Very busy restaurant so be prepared to wait. We orders two pizzas - the diavolo and the toscana along with a salad nicioise. The salad was underdressed but still above average. The pizzas were well cooked with a very thin base. However toppings were very scarce.
Vapiano's does a good job with serving Italian inspired dishes to the masses. I find that it is a "safe" restaurant to go to when you can't find somewhere else nearby that tickles your fancy. I do find that certain peak times in the night are a nightmare to get your meal, but you can get a quick service if you pick the right time. I highly recommend that you ask your pasta to be "overcooked" as they are a bit too al dente for my liking. The cocktails are alright and the bar staff are pleasant. I find that the staff making the food at times can be hit and miss - at times employing an unauthentic script of sorts to befriend you and then attempt to up sell you their overpriced add-on options for meals (at times coaxing you without telling you of the extra cost. Beside of that, give the place a go - I recommend the ratatouille with spelt fusilli and pink sauce.
This is one of my favourite restaurants on the coast! The food is wonderful and the price is so good! The atmosphere is great and comfortable. I could spend hours and hours here eating, drinking and socialising. I love that it's open late to feed me if I finish work late and there are lots of big or small meals to choose from. It's in a great, central location and I've been here a lot.

Their is just a bit pricey. I tried their homemade lemonade and my family disn't like it, it was too sweet.
Great little place, cool and novel idea with pasta made in front of you, food is great and reasonably priced, nice atmosphere and decent bar, perfect for an easy night out.
In a great location in the mall this is a great spot if you want a quick lunch - yet having to get a buzzer and then a seat then go up and order yourself then collect? Not very relaxing. Pizzas are really good as are the bolognese pastas and if you can get a table without having to line up for ages even better! Good beers and a very hip younger crowd too.
Although I only had the delicious caprese salad and tasty bruschetta, all the other pastas and pizza looked, smelled and tasted amazing! Will definitely being going again!
Loved this place! Ive been to the one in Dubai and Melbourne and its a great restaurant with tasty fresh dishes. It was exceptionally busy so I would strongly suggest booking a table but you would still have to wait in line for a while to order. The staff came round with pizzas whilst we were waiting which I thought was great service. Can't wait to come back again.
Vapiano is a great Italian restaurant. In the heart of surfers paradise. It has some great pizza and pasta options. The pasta chefs were very friendly and provided recommendations about the dishes. Tried the pesto basilico with penne, was very fresh, tasted good. Tried another pasta dish with their signature orange sauce, it had some chilli which gave it a characteristic flavour. Also tried the garlic mozarella pizza, needed more cheese.
Love this place! Service is swift and friendly, pasta is amazing and happy hour is a winner!
Good place to take a group. It's easy to get a large table and there is no fuss about paying your bill as everyone gets a swipe card that tallies it up for you.
