Very nice interior of this Irish pub. Plenty of space. Nice and friendly staff. Very good selection of meals. Can also pick the daily specials. Been there twice and meals were great for the price. $5 for a steak. Bargain. Be back Friday night for fish and chips.

My opinion on this place comes from during the day. Not much of an atmosphere huge venue, nice size pokie area. Staff were friendly massive outside area most likely popular on weekends

Was sceptical about the lunch special, especially the 4 dollar steak. Finally I took the plunge, and you know what, I wish I went earlier. Steak was great, and I discovered they have very fair priced drinks too. One of the better bloody Mary's I tried. Nice chilled vibe. Will try the snitzel next !

Friendly and helpful staff. Easy going vibe. Really good pub food, especially the pumpkin and goats cheese salad yum! Only gripe was mushroom burger could have been a bit bigger and it would be awesome to see a couple more vegetarian options because the food was delicious just not much for your veggie friends! Thanks for a great time.

Their steak dinner is a few chips with a 2min steak only good for a steak sandwich and the pepper sauce tasted very much like Diane with some cracked pepper. Not a hearty mean and certainly not worth $16.

We love Waxy's. Such a good feed for so little money. They do $4 steak day with any purchase of a side dish every day. So we get two stakes with chips and salad for like $14 per person. Every day!!! Service is always with a smile and quick. Thank you Waxy's for looking after our dinner almost every day 😅🙈

Best beef dip sandwich I have had in Australia. Huge portion and absolutely beautiful. In the states it was called a French dip and man it made me homesick! I will definitely be back.

Over all friendly and knowledgeable staff behind the bar, one staff member in particular made our night so much better. Food was quick, generous and super tasty. Highly recommend the lamb shanks and Guinness pie.

Why do these pubs give the best seats in the house to the filthy bloody smokers....
Walk through the door on the bottom level you have to walk through a cloud of smoke then get up stairs to the new roof top bar and the stools along the front overlooking the strip is all bloody smokers.... Only spot for non smokers is in the dark at the back of the bar......

Came yesterday and had the steak for $3 and it was really good. Had the brazilian waitress called Lisa and she was very friendly... Corona for $4 was also a great deal. Will recommend the place to others and Lisa was awesome!

Plenty of atmosphere, friendly staff and reasonable prices
Makes some of the other bars in Surfers seem a bit “sterile” by comparison
I’ll be back to try some of the meal specials mentioned by others next time I visit this place

Everytime we are on the coast Waxys is a must do. Cold beers, amazing food, wonderful staff and a terrific atmosphere. There's no better place to go. 5 stars always.

Finding a bar late last night that had the right vibe was difficult for my gf and I; much to our delight the minute we walked in we were greeted by friendly, but professional door crew, served by an awesome bartender and given extraordinary service. If you haven't been, you gotta try Waxy's out. You won't be disappointed!
The only thing we didn't get to do was shoot some balls on the pool table - oh well besides this, 10/10

Was a good atmosphere bouncers where awesome bit of a long wait at the bar but as to be expected, only downfall was I didn't know how to get to the rooftop bar or if it was even open :(

Called in yesterday for a pint of Kilkenny for St Patty’s Day... $10.50... served in a plastic cup!!! I know why the use of the plastic cups but it’s just too cheap & thrifty.
It’s just way too over priced now, air conditioning wasn’t on either so it was very muggy / uncomfortable... we left and went to another venue for the afternoon.
