The food was beautiful and so much flavour. The restaurant is clean and we were impressed by the chalk drawn Melbourne skyline on the walls upstairs. The service was great and the staff patient waiting for us chatty girls to decide on our order and then while we kept chatting until late. Definitely recommend to others.

All the meat we had was nice. The beef ribs were my fav - so tasty and juicy! The bibimbap was also delicious. The fried chicken was nice and crunchy but the batter wasn't authentic Korean. There was no option for chicken for the BBQ which was disappointing. Service was really quick and they kept giving us water without being asked.

Shame that I forgot to take all of the pictures. Overall, I’m impressed with the atmosphere of this resto, so homy and convenient. It’s designed to serve only couple of tables which resulted in not too noisy ambience. To start with, i’m impressed with the deep fried crab craws!! they tasted funny (in a good way) as they have a unique rice vermicelli like texture wrapped in breadcrumbs. They also served me the amazing black sesame garden salad which to me it’s one of the best salads i’ve ever tasted. Last night, I ordered premium wagyu&beef set. Their marinated beef ribs tasted so crazy and indubitably the angus scotch fillet+ the A9 wagyu were da bomb! In addition, their accompaniment including kimchi, radish pickle, and the konyaku salad were luv!! Price wise, it’s highly reasonable and furthermore the service is premium. Not to exaggerate, but we were served like royal guests! Definitely i’ll be back.

Food was good. Service was excellent - the service team was attentive. Their service includes cooking the bbq for their guests throughout the whole dinner session (when many places don't provide this service anymore).

Leaning towards 4.3.The staff were friendly and professional. We had the pork and beef set, kimchi stew, and seafood pancake. The amount of meat felt just about sufficient although the size of the medium kimchi stew was slightly smaller than expected. The taste of the stew was average. The quality of the meat was pretty good, given the price. The seafood pancake had pretty good quality ingredients as well. We also had some drinks and did stay for awhile. The staff were courteous about it.
Towoo is my favorite Korean BBQ place in south eastern suburbs. High quality meat, decent side dishes and good service. It’s a place I highly recommended. We visit there at least once a month, cannot find any other K-BBQ places around can beat them.
Ps: love their rice wine cocktail, they used fresh fruit to blend with rice wine! Taste so great.
I went to this restaurant last week and absolutely loved it. Nice and clean environment, good portions and tasty meat. We ordered the Premium Wagyu beef set and it was definitely value for money. One of the very best charcoal BBQ places I have been to and would recommend to others.

This Korean bbq use charcoal grill. The taste is better than the hot pan grill. All the food was fresh. I like the eye fillets. The free entrees can be refilled.
Have been to this restaurant a couple of times in the past. To woo definitely set a high standard for a local Korean bbq in the suburbs. On our last visit, we ordered a couple of plates of meats to bbq , salad and a seafood stew . The one thing that sets Towoo apart from other bbq places is that there will always be a waiter to cook your meats to ensure it’s cooked to perfection. It has a nice vibe and love the free refills on the side dishes !

Great quality meats at an acceptable price - especially due to its location in Balwyn . The restaurant at first glance looks quite small but they also have an upstairs area. I really enjoyed the bbq and also the kimchi stew ~
Came here 3weeeks ago with my family for my 21st. Had a reservation but our spot was given away to another table but the staffs sorted us to the second floor. No hassle, I ordered a couple of starters, 2 soups and 1 bbq set. Foods were pretty good and services were nice and friendly.
We’ve been here twice with kids and it has become a family favourite. The banquets are very plentiful. The salad that comes with the banquet are zesty and delicious!

Okay, it is a wonderful restaurant. I thought this two years ago, and I still think now. Really friendly staff and amazing food.
Strongly recommend the Bibim Bop (sorry if I spelt it wrong), deep fried crab claw and deep friend prawn. In fact, I would recommend for you to order a mix entree which has two piece each of the above two, as well as two pieces as fried chicken with fried lotus.
Towoo’s deadly shortcoming is they are too darn slow. We booked our table at 7:15, and they said we could come at 8. Yet when we got there, we were informed that their staff made a mistake and they didn’t actually have a table for us...
After half-hour-not-so-hungry waiting, we got to our table. 8:30pm now, past my usual “food curfew”.
It wasn’t until another 30+ minuets (I lost track) that we actually received our food. However, they didn’t have enough rice for the soup...and in the end we were one rice short. But we did get two sets of the pickles and stuff. I Ioved the fish cake...but they didn’t have enough so RIP.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend going at this hour and it would take so long to eat, even with the reservation. But I know that this is the most popular time...
So, be prepared to wait, and be wowed but he food.
Standard foods and services for korean bbq..staffs was friendly but not so well trained. We order king prawns which is quite pricy $28 for 3prawns and the girl that serve us really struggle to remove the skewers so it was completely overcooked and ineatable .we also order marinated beef ribs , fresh pork belly, scallops and seafood stew which is was nice. Booking is a must. Overall was a fine experience .

Beautifully presented dishes, BBQ beef, BBQ pork belly was nicely charred and smoky! We had a blend of traditional Korean dishes and BBQ, excellent quality dishes with friendly customer service!
These guys are busy, it took us 4 attempts in last couple of weeks to get a table. My advice to you is to book early, days in advance, not the same day.
The food is pretty good especially the charcoal grilled meat on bbq although slightly pricier than usual. The last time we went though, the waitress was seriously clueless - the food kept coming all at one time and there was no space on the table to put them so she put them on the sofa seat next to me. On the other side was a kid who kept moving up and down on the sofa seat and nearly knocked the plate of raw meat over. I then put the plate of meat on the table but then the waitress moved it back to the chair again?! She also forgot some of our orders and forgot to come and assist us with cooking the meat. She looked like she was confused and wasn't coping.
A cosy set up and a local favourite! The entrees were great, the crab claws filled with actual crab rather than prawn ball mixture, and the fried chicken was tender and juicy. All you can eat appetisers are always a hit too. Jap chae and spicy seafood soup were delicious, however the seafood pancake and rice dishes leaned towards the oily side. Service and pricing were fair and I would definitely go again to try the Korean BBQ!
So glad to stumble across this local haunt Korean BBQ. The meat was of high quality, free starters was a nice touch, veggies very fresh and tasty and the menu was varied and authentic. Modern decor and great ambience. The only negative was one of the waitresses wasn't across the menu and food. Can't wait to take some friends there and visit in a group!

A stylish modern Korean restaurant shophouse on ground and upper level located at Whitehorse Road, Surrey Hills with dim lit interior and well designed with appropriate sized tables, bench seatings and overhanging steel exhausts.
Complimentary tasty appetisers were served and replenished well.
The raw BBQ food were good quality but staff need better attention on keeping watch on the cooking of food to ensure it does not become overcooked. The Soy Bean Paste Stew was a tasty dish, well prepared and presented.
Restaurant ground level was running full house and service was efficient, except it took them a while to remove the hot heavy stone stove left burning empty with hot air billowing towards close by customers.

Saturday night dinner at towoo in Surrey hills tonight and was pleased to find this place. The food was good and came out promptly and tasted nice! The waygu beef though.. it melted in my mouth, it was fantastic ! The beef set came with three types of meat, a side salad and a side of fried crab balls, prawn, chicken and lotus root. Overall good experience!
The quality of meat was really good. But beside this, everything else is just average and OVER PRICED. The service was really good, didn't need to cook by ourselves at all.
Super Cozy and beautiful ambience, great service and most importantly delicious Korean food and bbq! Thoroughly enjoyed the bibimbap , pancake, and marinated beef ribs. Highly recommended :)
We order the towoo pork set , it was delicious but most of the meats are too fatty . The beef bulgogi was good and the sweet potato noodles we order it came out pretty big portion. We wasn't expect that. Overall, I had a great experience dining in . Definitely coming back for second visit .

Lovely Korean BBQ in a cold freezing night. The food from appetizer to Main was yummy. Spicy, deep fried, vegetarian to bbq are all there in one to suit everyone's need. Service is casual, but courtesy.

Korean BBQ at its best! This sophisticated little gem of a restaurant in sleepy Surrey hills is the perfect go to local restaurant. It's busy nearly every night of the week and on the weekends bookings are essential. Great for groups so you can order the banquets and have a little taste of everything.
Located on quite strip of shops on Whitehorse road this place has only been open for a few months. The meet was excellent with fresh salad and kimchi. Service was good, but cooked the meat a bit rushed. Would have preferred to shower service.
Had a big group dinner there, manage to try a lot on their menu. Soups are quite average, fried items are ok, the set Bbq was good and meat quality nice. Will be back again just for the BBQ set
The Towoo Beef Set is to die for. Must succulent flame grilled tender meat cooked perfectly right in front of your eyes. They give you a sesame/soy and a garlic/soy sauce for the meat. Yum!! Complimented with a delicious salad and entrees including fried crab claw, prawns, chicken, delicious picked vegetables and a sort of homemade coleslaw they were the perfect starter.
Kirin beers on tap delicious and you can take 1 bottle of wine as BYO. A cab sav with this menu is perfect.

Very popular place, and we were lucky to get 2 seats without a reservation at 5.30pm! 15 min later, another 2 got told they were full and next seating was at 7.30pm! Don't forget to reserve a table if you wanna dine here! We had the Wagyu premium set, that comes with everything you see in my pics for $132. We were so full and didn't need any rice. Salad was fresh and sauce was nice (being non-vege lovers), marinated beef rib was delish, and Wagyu (medium rare) was juicy and succulent. Nice of them to throw in a mixed fried plate entree as part of the set. BYO wine place, but please try the Blueberry Flavoured rice wine! All up, including an alcoholic beverage, we spent $153!

Authentic, high quality food which was worth the higher prices we paid for it. On a Monday night, Towoo was the only restaurant of the whole strip that was packed and buzzing with people. Definitely glad we booked.
Restaurant was nicely decorated and staff were polite - I wouldn't say friendly, but the service was attentive and efficient. From the side dishes we knew that unlike many Chinese-owned Korean restaurants, this one was more authentic. Towoo served authentic, high quality food that wasn't overly salty or sweet.
We ordered the beef and pork BBQ set which was $132 and came with beef, pork belly, fried appetizers and a salad. The fried lotus, prawn, crab balls and chicken were delicious and came with creamy and sweet dipping sauces. The side salad had a black sesame dressing which was different but we really liked. The beef was nice, the pork belly however you could not taste the difference between the curry and red wine flavors. However it was good that the meat wasn't already heavily seasoned with salt and sugar. We also ordered a kimchi pot which was quite expensive ($50 for a medium-large pot) but flavors were good and it was filled with vegetables and pork, rather than cheap processed meat like other cheaper Korean restaurants.
Overall we walked away satisfied, and would definitely recommend Towoo for high quality Korean food for special occasions.
Yay for charcoal and not smelling of it afterwards! Started with fried dumplings and seafood pancake - both really good and really hot - almost burnt the roof of my mouth as I couldn't wait to dive in.
Went a la carte for BBQ with beef bulgogi, spicy pork & mixed veg. Staff cook it for you but I'm sure you can DIY. Marinated meats were high quality, flavoursome and tender. Happy the pork belly wasn't thick fat chunks!
Easily spent a good 1.5hrs as we weren't rushed. Would recommend booking if you're not local. Thumbs up from me :)

This was my second time at Towoo. I felt like BBQ and couldn't be bothered Going to the city, this is close to where I live. We ordered Eye fillet $24 (which came in 2 medium pieces of eye fillet), ox tongue $22 (a little on the thicker side), marinated beef ribs (came in 2 pieces), standard pork belly $22 and a small soybean paste stew $22. All up 140 bucks (we also ordered 2 rice and one tin of Calpico soft drink), on the expensive side compared to the city Korean restaurants.
Food wise, all quite standard, the sauce I prefer Toodouri's (across from Vic market). Side dishes weren't as good as Toodouri's but weren't bad. The meat were good freshness but the mushrooms tasted weird and not fresh.
The service was above average, they constantly come around to flip your BBQ for you, except they left the ox tongue for too long and it literally turned into chips...
One issue was the smoke extractor was constantly pushed low close to the meat, I tried to push it up to flip the BBQ, trying not to burn myself because it gets quite hot from the flaming heat. At one point, the smoke extractor actually fell and hit the BBQ, luckily nothing happened because it could have been quite serious if the burning coal and ashes had splashed on any of us. This kinda ruined my meal, we had to ask the waiters to make a new stew for us because ashes fell into it.
Overall, I would come here if I'm craving for BBQ but can't be bothered going to the city.

Here we tried the wagyu beef, short beef ribs, and Angus scotch fillet. The meat was super tender and marinated perfectly. We also enjoyed the side dishes with were homemade and delicious. The fragant dipping sauce with sesame oil and salt was also a highlight. Very attentive staff and great ventilation were also what made this place one of the best.
Was good, for a local Korean BBQ place! Our whole family are super fans of Korean food! Order a set of wayu premium beef ( comes with salad and mixed entrees) kimchi soup. Didn't let us down, however, the dipping for traditional Korean was bit simple. Overall, still recommend for locals to try.

I wasn't expecting too much at Towoo even though my friends have mentioned that it's good. I was wrong. The quality of the food was so good such that I felt like I was back in Korea. In fact, it tasted better than some of the barbie I had in Seoul. A tick for service too as the staff will help you with the barbecue. The best part? Leaving the restaurant without a barbecue stench.
Wow... After being so dissatisfied with nearly all the Kbbq at Box Hill, we went to Towoo at Balwyn (not too far) and it was brilliant! The place was two storey and packed with people. Surprisingly, the toilet was really really clean compared to some other kbbq restaurants. Overally the food and service was excellent.
Probably one of the better Korean BBQ places around Balwyn and Box Hill area. Having ordered the Towoo Beef Set, the meat included was really tasty, both juicy and tender and had the charcoal flavour through it. Bibimbap was also very nice. Service wasn't too bad either with the staff being attentive to the charcoal. If anything, I would say it is slightly expensive but a worthwhile place to visit!

Came here with a friend and had the barbecue for dinner. Ordered the beef and pork set (I think that's the name) and additional on tongue.
Food was absolutely delicious, the sides (especially those noodle things) were on point!
Meat was tender, full of flavour, or tongue was not rubbery or dry, perfect.
Had the green tea ice cream as well and it was a large serving. Magnificent.
Service was great and atmosphere was great too (there's an upstairs and downstairs)

The interior of the restaurant is decked out with equipment to ensure guests don't end up smelling like the Korean BBQ themselves however despite only having one stove cooking (each table is equipped with two stoves) and having the overhead exhaust running, we did end up smelling a little smokey which should be expected going into a Korean BBQ restaurant.
The menu available consists of items for the BBQ as well as dishes that can be had without the use of the BBQ. On a Sunday night, the restaurant was full with the staff running around trying their best to manage everyone's BBQ and cook their meat to perfection. However there were a few times where our meat had burnt as a result of the multi-tasking between tables.
Our table of 7 had two of the BBQ sets; one beef and one beef and pork which each came with a deep fried entree and salad. The pork was probably my least favourite and least impressive. I highly recommend the marinated beef ribs which was tasty and tender. My advice/suggestion is to save the salad and have that with the meat as we all got very 'meated' out after having the salad first as an entree while we waited for the meat to cook.
Rice dishes were also great and came out after all the BBQ-ing was done. I wouldn't mind having a few of these dishes and two bbq meats rather than a full set next time.

This is one of the Korean bbq place that i've been with least bbq smell when you walk in and out from the restaurant, quite impressed with their ventilation system.
The seafood soft tofu soup, $25 for this portion i find a little pricey, the taste is good but the prawn isn't fresh. The soup base can taste seafood flavour and a pitch of spiciness, full of silky tofu.
The staff will help you with the bbq, cook and turn the meat when its ready. However i think their staff should be communicated to each other or have a designated staff to look after one table, a staff just comes over to turn the meat, another staff comes straight after to turn again. This might not be ideal and i rather be the control of it. $28 for 2 pieces of scotch fillet and i think also $28 for the ox tongue, not quite sure.
Good about the tidbits, they will replace for you once finished, personally i like the marinated cucumber.
Overall i find quite pricy for the amount of food, could be the location of it, worth while to try their bbq set but you might not getting your choice of meat.

We stepped into this trendy Korean BBQ restaurant and felt like we were take on a journey! We ordered the Angus beef, mushroom plate and the Korean Fried Chicken.
I would not normally order beef but in this instance we did and I did not regret it for a moment! The staff were also flexible with their menu modifying some of their usual ordering requirements.

1st time here. Clean and nice decor and ambience. We ordered quite a few dishes but only managed to snap a few pictures before it was gone. Beef bibimbab was flavoursome and served in a stone bowl. The rice at the bottom is crispy and cooked just right. The seafood spicy soup was one of the best i have had.
The meat was soooo good, so tasty. I had the beef and pork bulgogi which was beautiful. I was disappointed with their vegetables though. Almost none of varied vegetables there I like. The kimchi pancake was a generous size with nice big chunks of seafood (I don't even know that there are seafoods in kimchi pancake). It was a bit of downside that most of staff cannot speak english. But I will definitely come back for their meat!
2nd visit to Towoo! Fantastic staff and BBQ sets and so fresh and very filling! 5 of us shared beef and pork BBq set which include the mixed entree, soft seafood stew with rice, seafood pancake with squid, jap chae, all the dishes present beautifully and taste as good as the looking! On the menu the set was designed for 2-3 ppl, but I think it can actually feed the whole family, 4 to 5 ppl. I will strongly recommend to anyone who love Korean BBQ!

This is your upmarket Korean BBQ restaurant in the eastern burbs of Melbourne. Food is the same as all other BBQ restaurants, just on fancier plates
Went here for dinner with a good friend. Restaurant is very clean and well presented. Staff are friendly and are constantly assisting with the cooking. Food is delicious and packed full of flavour. Only issue is the food is quite overpriced for what you get as the BBQ meat portions are quite small. We ordered about 6 dishes to share and the bill ended up being about $110.

I really like this place for Korean barbecue. The quality of the meat is great and the service is good too. Although I do find the waiters cook the meat for you too quickly. As if they want you to hurry up and finish so you can leave. That was a let down. Recommend their spicy seafood soup! The kimchi soup was too sour and it was very bland.
I would always highly recommend people to have their korean BBQ here at Towoo if they are a beef eater. Their beef BBQ is soooo good. Good when you bring friends or family. I have been there many times now I just order the same thing everytime. I have to mention they do a great job in the dessert too. In the menu it doesnt sound fancy at all it only says icecream and you pick what flavour you like. But they actually come out like a sunday in the serving. Very detailed, and they do business with heart.
You’ll need to book in advance to be able to get a seat at this place! Towoo only had two time slots of booking (one at 5pm and one at 7pm) the place was already filled when we got there at 7:15pm. The staff there were generally friendly and very willing to assist in ordering and other related matters.
Loved our meal here this week. We brought an international guest who loves Korean BBQ and he was very impressed. We will definitely be back.

The marinated protein, particularly the beef ribs were delicious! Serving sizes are great value - compared to the close by SUT and Wine in Box Hill - who are such a rip off these days with their teeny tiny portions. I really hope Towoo can keep this up.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Condiments are also great. They changed our grill during "intermission" which is always welcomed, avoiding eating burnt black bits. Overall, I had a really good night here!

Staff: The staff are immensely friendly and is definitely on the ball with everything. They're knowledgable with all of their meals and will endeavour to ensure that your meal is thoroughly enjoyed! For those who are not familiar with KBBQ, the staff are more than happy to cook your meal for you.
Restaurant: The venue itself is just adorable! It is very cosy yet spacious at the same time. You really do need to see the decor for yourself to understand its cuteness.
Food: My friends and I (there were 6 of us) ordered quite a fair amount of food. From memory, we ordered two of the beef Wagyu sets, the spicy chicken and cheese, the rice cake dish and just a load of sides. Needless to say, ALL of our dishes were just delicious!
The rice cake dish was my favourite of the extra dishes we ordered. It was indeed a spicy dish with subtle hints of sweetness. The noodles and rice cakes were just perfect! It was not over cooked (where it basically has the texture of chewing gum) or under cooked (where the rice cakes are just solid). It was a little chewy but it melted in your mouth perfectly.
The only downfall, I would say, was that I didn't have enough stomach room to keep eating!
Price: For 6 of us, the bill totalled to $360. Your call on whether it is expensive or not. We did eat a crazy amount of food for 6 people.

Visited this restaurant with friends on a Saturday night, the place was packed with people and the business looked great. We ordered a premium wagyu beef set, towoo beef set and some side dishes. The place focuses on Korean BBQ and the charcoal just adds a bit of smoky flavour to your protein and makes everything taste so much better. The food was decent, however on a busy night, you would have to be prepared to flip your meat from time to time to avoid burning it(Avoid the steak). At the end of the night, we spent about $40 per person, overall it was an enjoyable experience and definitely a good place to visit with your friends. If you like korean food, it's worth trying and if you are not a fan of kimchi, well... stick to the protein, unless you are vegetarian. 4/5 would probably come back again.
Nice cosy atmosphere and staff very attentive . This was our first experience and was very positive.
We were brought 4 small pickled dishes complimentary which were delicious. For novices, we ordered two dishes with rice so next time we will experiment more. Definitely worth a second visit!!
Wagyu Beef Set. I recommend to let the steak back to room temperature before putting it into the rocks. Taste much better that way. Ask the waiters to let yourself do the cooking.
Very good fresh food!. Great decor and set up but the stand out really is the food! well trained staff who want you to have a good dining experience.. Book it in if you haven't been there before and there is room for a function up stairs!
Very friendly staff, very spacious interior with delicious food for the barbecue and great entrees. Well ventilated place so not too stuffy when all bbq's in use, best Korean restaurant in the suburbs!

Best Korean outside of Korea. Hard to fault this service. Reliable food. Wonderful tastes. Brilliant on a cold night. If you have a group of four people you are best to get a pork set, some drinks and sit back and enjoy the ride. Just relax and take it as it comes. Always a good night out, friendly service but can get busy so book early.
BEST SERVICE!. We arrived for a booking @ 8pm and were turned away and told to come back @ 8:20 for the were not ready yet. being on union rd there was no where to go before hand and naturally we were really annoyed. When we did finally get seated we were apologised to so many times and were given complementary drinks and had $15 taken off our bill. service and food was amazing and were impressed that the actually cared that they had made a mistake. will be coming back!
Towoo is terrific. Wonderful Korean fare cooked at your table if you choose it. Been here twice and had a great time on each occasion. Love the beef, love the pork belly. The salads are great too. The food is a touch exotic and very tasty. Nice decor and pleasant staff too. We will definitely be returning.

Despite the negative reviews, I went to this place for dinner and I'm so glad that I ignore the negative reviews! Amazing staff & we were very taken good care of during the whole BBQ session, definitely will be back and the owner is super friendly, giving us tips on how to BBQ-ing the meat nicely!
Super friendly and welcoming staff and amazing food. The pork melted in our mouths. The extra sides we were given were a nice treat. The Korean beer so light, perfectly compliments the meal. Can't wait to come back!

Towoo is a fantastic part of the east Melbourne food scene. Went for dinner not knowing what to expect. I drive past this restaurant each night around 9:30 and always busy so after a few months I had to check it out.
I ordered the meat set menu for $88 ( feeds 2 - 3 people )
Started with the fried starter. All tasty and flavoured well.
The BBQ came out then the meat tray did. 3 cuts of meat ( scotch, shot rib and a sirloin of a high marble ) a handful of mushrooms and a garden salad with a amazing dressing.
All the meat was tender and full flavoured. I was very happy with the short rib that has been cut thin and marinated in a soy of some sort.
Over all very impressed. The place is busy, fun and exciting.

Favorite korean bbq in Melbourne. This is my favorite korean bbq in Melbourne. They are relatively new but always looking to improve their menu and service. The owner would tell us about new dishes and asks for feedback. He's very serious about delivering good food. Also learnt they don't use msg. How do they get their meat dishes so tasty then? Love the marinated beef ribs the most. The 1st floor chalk art really adds to the atmosphere too :)

Great restaurant. Staff are personable and efficient. No wait for food. Great fitout. Waiter even offered to let us test a meal from their upcoming menu. All up, a real gem. Definately recommended.
Side dishes were unique and very tasty especially the seaweed roots with mayonaise. Standout dishes for us were the crab claws, scotch fillet (especially dipped with the sesame salt) and the sweet potato noodles bap. Probably wouldn't order the vegetables next time, not much of it and some were burnt.
Lovely Korean BBQ. How is this place different to other Korean BBQ? They do a charcoal grill/BBQ instead of the more common gas grill/BBQ.
We had their pork belly 5 ways (5 different marinates). The flavours were very nice and the meat was tender. Serving sizes were decent and service was very good.
We will be back to try their other dishes.

This is my favourite Korean restaurant in Melbourne. absolutely love the atmosphere and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant to all meat lovers.
Fresh and tasty!. Secret place in the eastern suburb! Korean Barbecue was absolutely fantastic. the staff were friendly and explaining every single thing about interesting korean side dishes. Amazing place! I won't hesitate to come back!

Fantastic food combined with fantastic service and ambiance. Been coming here since it opened and the food has gotten even better. Being relatively new the place is squeaky clean and the dishes served up always seem to be improving. Love the fact that Towoo always tries to improve on everything from service to food. The bulgogi mushroom stew is fantastic and so is the mixed entrée. Was offered a couple of cocktails last night as well which was a nice surprise. If you are in need of a Korean BBQ hit then this place is the bomb!

Now For Something Completely Different. Towoo is a new culinary addition to Surrey Hills. Surrounded by established Thai, Indian, Chinese, Greek and Italian restaurants as well as other fast food type eateries, 'Korean' is a relatively unfamiliar cuisine for many. Firstly, Towoo has spared no expense in fitting out the old former bike shop to a smart and contemporary restaurant. The ambiance is excellent, the staff are friendly and efficient and interestingly, the majority of customers on our visit were Asian. Always a good sign when exploring a new Asian restaurant. Add to this, the novelty of selected meats being BBQ'd by attentive staff at your bench type seating. It's all action stations with a full house! However, as a newcomer to Korean cuisine and comparing it to say..Thai or Vietnamese, it's a bit bland without the distinctive flavours and tastes of these more familiar cuisines. Furthermore, by the time your eg. Angus steak or prawns are BBQ'd at your table, they tend to shrink to half their size leaving one wanting for more. Naturally, there are other non BBQ selections available. Prices are mid range and value for money reasonable. It's BYO with a quality wine retailer next door if you forget. Definitely worth giving Towoo a try.

Awesome place. Went with friends for a korean bbq. We had port set and beef set and seafood pancake. Food was great. the atmosphere was also good and was quite surprised that it was busy on tuesday night. even the second floor seemed busy.
we loved the garden salad that was included in the set, the dressing was fantastic, and we munched on the salad like herbivorous animals.
their side dishes- garlic stem( didn't know we could eat garlic stem, but it's actually pretty good), braised cabbage, pickled vegies and Kimchi was nice too.
definitely a recommended place if you want classy dinner with friends & families!

Best Korean BBQ in Melbourne. Side dishes are amazing (must try their Korean Fried Chicken) and the prices are a lot more reasonable than other Korean BBQs. Meat quality and service is also really good !
Everything is tasty here. We have been a few times now and usually get one of the bbq sets. The beef ones are a highlight although the pork belly is very good. All the meats are juicy but still lean. The staff are attentive and take care of most of the cooking for you, so you can sit back, relax and drink soju out of a frozen pineapple 🍍
A lovely first time experience at this restaurant. The food was tasty though the set menu option was a little pricey. Service was good although we were served by a trainee who consulted with his supervisor when he couldn't answer our questions about the food.
Very nice place to have Korean food, beer and drinks! The korean cold noodles is the best in Melbourne ! A must visit restaurant in Surrey Hills! They have done some changes recently and are not using charcoal any more......
Awesome boutique Korean barbecue, much better than the ones in box hill. The seafood in the pancake and rice cake is fresh and not overcooked, both are delicious and definitely worth ordering. Meat wise the marinated beef ribs are my favourite, great flavour and so soft and juicy. Although the restaurant has an upstairs area, it gets busy very quickly, highly recommend booking in advance.
Absolutely loved the Korean barbecue and the super friendly staff. We were a group of 6 with most 1st timers. The staff was considerate enough to help choose the correct menu options and also help throughout the meal with the barbeque and making bite size portions of the grilled meat. It was a good experience and I would recommend a visit to the place.

The place is a bit noisy so I wouldn't recommend it for a first/second date but perfect for a catch up with friends/family .
