I was surprised at how similar our order was from the last order we placed at Union Street Thai which was about 18 months earlier. Roti, chicken pad see ew, rice and a green curry. This time prawn rather than chicken. We didn’t take head of our observations about to roti being small and this was still the case. There were for prawns in our green curry although they were a decent size and the pad see ew was comforting as they often are.
Glad to we have them another go.

We ate Uber eats from Union Tree Thai last night so hard to judge the restaurant itself except to say the time Food was ready very quickly (much quicker than the original time indicated).
We ordered s pad see ew which was a flavoursome version of. This wide noodle dish.
We dialled up the spices to a medium on the green chicken curry and this dish delivered a good amount of heat with some tender chicken which was quite generously plentiful. This green curry oven rice was the favourite of these two dishes.
Sadly the roti was quite a small serve and taste wise nothing special (a little like the stuff you can buy frozen at the supermarket). Would probably not order again or order about 3 of them for 2 people.
Overall despite the roti we enjoyed our meal and would certainly consider Union Tree Thai for future Uber deliveries.
Food always good here especially their mixed entree. Super friendly staffs, we happy every time we dine in but they normally very busy on the weekend so it is quite noisy.
Great little Thai food, we love red curry duck and their golden Balamandi was outstanding. The staffs are very friendly but you have to make a booking as this place is always full on Friday and Saturday.
Great spot, friendly staff and consistently good food. Lucky to have a place like this in what was once a very sleepy shopping strip. Definitely a regular dinner place for us.
I came here with my partner on a Saturday night and we were pleasantly surprised that we could get a table straight away at this busy little restaurant! The staff were very friendly and the food is delicious. Highly recommend the red curry with chicken and coconut rice 🥘
Promising quaint Thai restaurant ...
Shaded, quaint, not much from the outside ... outdoor and indoor sitting, it would struggle to cater for 25+ patrons ... pro-active, attentive and pleasant service from the solo waitress on duty ... but most importantly their 8/10 $15.00 Pad Thai seafood for lunch ... on the sweeter side but balanced out with an extra pod of red chillies ... nothing a chili can't fixed ... a promising start to dinner. JT-12/04/2018.
If I ever want to try Thai, I always drop into this restaurant as it is near proximity where I stay. What I have noticed is that it is always full, no matter if it's a weekday or weekend, it'll be having enough customers to keep the restaurant busy.
If you ever want to have dinner in a cozy place amongst relaxed people sipping wine, laughing and discussing stuff. It's a wonderful feeling.
You always get parking for sure as it is located near Surrey Hills station and you can always park there if you do not get parking opposite to restaurant.
You will be welcomed by their smiley staff. You'll be presented the menu which have detailed explanation on what it contains, so it saves a lot of interaction time, staff happily accommodate any changes according to your requirements.
They have a comfortable seating, views and ambiance that matches Thai style. Clean and sophisticated.
Food is of amazing taste with great portion, appropriately priced. Always mention your spice level tolerance before ordering, because authentic Thai will be always spicy. Food is the exact reason I'm rating this restaurant this high.
We ordered Veg Spring roll, it was crisp, tasty and increased the taste along with their sauce. The service is fast and they clear your plate very fast though they have limited staff, I was impressed with that. All the menu that includes rice has some unique aroma, try that out.
I felt heavy after dinner and cost like 40 AUD for 2. Do try their Jasmine Tea after you are done, good for health and unique Thai.

Great local Thai restaurant. Union tree is definitely an asset to the union rd shopping strip.
I came here with a friend recently and we shared the spring rolls, crispy golden bags, roti with peanut sauce, pad Thai, beef salad and a coconut cake. Standout dishes were the Thai beef salad (so fresh and with the perfect amount of chilli) and the coconut cake dessert with coconut ice cream & coconut flesh.
This is a pretty good little Thai restaurant snug on union road. Loved the phad Thai , Tom kha and chicken larb . Service was good and efficient .
Friendly, welcoming service in a very well presented and cosy room at the bottom of the hill in the Union Rd strip. Food is excellent. BYO Wine and Beer...yes beer! Food is generous and reasonably priced. We had the curry puffs, satay chicken, roti, chicken ga prow, black pepper lamb, green curry and jasmine rice. All of the food was excellent with plenty of spice and great flavours. Service is attentive but not intrusive. This place is a perfect venue for couples and families but not suitable for any large numbers unless you book the entire restaurant out. We will be back again soon. Possibly the best Thai eatery in the area. Highly recommended.
I went there and had pad thai and a beef cashew nut stir fry. Both are really tasty and good. Lots of veggies in the stir fry, which I like. The service was exceptionally good, everyone was so polite, and the food came out pretty quickly. The place itself has a nice feel in it, without being too packed or noisy (I don't like some thai places that put tables so close to each other and so noisy, you have to rather shout to chat). I will definitely go back there. Take away-wise, it was disappointing to see the portion was really small, you can see with the small containers they packed everything in. The most disappointing one was their speciality soft shell crab that costs almost $20, yet the portion is tiny! Not worth the money.
A small but dependable and delightful local restaurant. Great flavours in well prepared dishes with crunchy vegetables and rich sauces. Friendly service too.
Yum! They do a smashing Pad Thai here and it's so reasonably priced! The prawn crackers with satay sauce is pretty good too! Highly recommend for take out, haven't eaten in yet.
Great local Thai that home delivers. Soft shell crab curry super tasty and the spicier stir fry's deliver on the flavour you want from a Thai takeaway.
Great local food. Easy and simple menu with enough options to satisfy all requirements
Great restaurant!. My family live locally and we frequent this little gem regularly, the food is always consistently great. The service is efficient and very friendly.
Can't recommend it more highly!
The Ellis Family.
Great takeaway. I only had takeaway from here, but always fast and good!
Absolutely Fantastic! Good .... Absolutely Fantastic!
Good food, freandly staff, nice environment, all besides a reasonable price!
Excellent service and food great!. A hidden gem in union road - there is not much competition for restaurants in this area albeit this does not mean they compromise on meals or service. The team are very courteous and accommodating. Best meals are the curries and pad thai - only suggestion would be to increase the roti serving but the satay sauce makes up for this.
Delicious meal and wonderful service.. Cosy, modern atmosphere, and friendly, courteous, efficient staff made our evening here very pleasant. 4 of us shared entrees of fish cakes, prawns and golden bags. For mains we chose lamb fillets stir fried with green peppercorns and vegetables, plus soft shell crab, both from the specials board, with a red duck curry, accompanied by steamed rice, roti break and peanut sauce. All items were beautifully presented, and the service was well timed. For desserts, we chose mango ice cream, banana cake, and coconut custards individually, all nicely presented, delicate flavours. An unexpected bonus was good coffee to finish. Crockery and glassware sparkling to match the staff smiles! Our friends are regulars at this restaurant, but this was our first visit. We will definitely be back. Thank you for a delightful evening.
Went there for the first time for dinner on a recommendation. Service was excellent, staff very friendly & the food delicious. I will recommend and have. Definitely eat here again.
What a cracker. Well, Surrey Hills hasn't ever been known for it's food-after-dark, so this unassuming Thai place is both unexpected and welcome. We haven't eaten in, yet - but have had a dozen or more take-away meals. Every one a fresh and really tasty winner. Haven't had a dud yet.
Wow! Truly delicious Thai with a fantastic variety and not average run of the mill dishes. We went early on a Sat night (6.30) with 2.5 year old and 7 month in tow, and they were very welcoming and accommodating. Our 2.5 year old LOVED the money bags and chicken fried rice. We had fish cakes, green chicken curry, stir fried Chilli beef, steamed barramundi, roti and coconut rice. The serves were generous and well priced. It's byo (hello!) and good quick service. Certainly best Thai in the area.
Good, clean, well priced tasty food with a smile
Very good!. I work in an office next door to this place and have eaten there 3 times so far (mostly lunch time sort of dishes!).
Their Thai Fishcakes are brilliant - perfect consistency (e.g. springy with texture) with a good traditional taste
I have also had both the Chicken Larb and the Beef salad - both were really well done.
Staff seem friendly and they confirmed that they will do "off menu" stuff if you check in advance, so if you have a favourite Thai dish that isnt on there ask and you might get.
The dishes are obviously prepared for a western level of spice - so if you like it spicy - be sure to ask :)
Yummy food. Live locally and visited this new resturant for the first time.abeautiful night so we sat outside .ordered the red duck curry which was beautiful ..the lamb in garlic and black pepper also tasty . Great friendly service.fresh food ... We will be going back soon.
Yummy. Went there for dinner a couple times now, food is just amazing and the staff are great, would definitely recommend to others. My favourite main is the Massaman Beef.
Been there a handful of times with the fortnight that they have been open. Tried a new main each time, can't decide on the favourite yet as they are all so tasty! Defiantly be going through their whole menu - highly recommend!!
