Café Via Biscotti is a great place to catch up for a coffee if you have a dog. There are plenty of hooks in the rear courtyard where you can tie up your pooch whilst you recharge your batteries.
We went to this cafe after interring our mother's ashes at Condare Court Nursing Home just up the road. A sad occasion was actually made bearable by the excellent food and good service. So much so that we will be going there for lunch again
Best value for money restaurant if you're looking for a not-too-quick lunch.
Their pastas are consistently good ; and when you try something a bit more fancy it's always good (awesome chips and calamari albeit the smallish serve).

Just come back again for the best egg & bacon roll in Melbourne. Also, the new coffee was better then before. A young girl was making a good coffee. Friendly staffs and good services. Will be back again.

Fantastic cafe, dog friendly with good food and coffee. The bacon & egg roll is a favourite, and the burgers are up there with the best. Burger didn't last long enough to get a photo!

Loveliest staff and great outdoor vibe!. I am sitting here now as I write - I work at Deakin uni and needed somewhere quiet for lunch, coffee and some writing - I got off the tram to this café on a whim and am so happy!! The pasta was beautiful, coffee was beautiful and the staff are so friendly and generous, and have been really going out of their way to help with seating, offering to help with connecting my laptop to a power source. Beautiful sunny courtyard, and again, coffee was fantastic! Friendly without being in your face - thank you so much, and I will be back again!
Friendly people, good coffee. I go there several times a week. Service is always friendly and coffee is good. It is easy and convenient to get a table and there is a parking lot just in front. What else can you ask for?

Pick of the crop in Surrey Hills. Our family enjoyed breakfast for Mothers Day at this idyllic local cafe. Range of choices for a typical home style breakfast and was served hot with everything done perfectly, the egg & bacon roll is undoubtedly the best in town. Gorgeous courtyard setting with a relaxing ambience, attentive staff and all are catered for as well as dogs.
I love the food here! Family run, Italian feel, with beautiful cooked lunches and great coffee. The staff are always friendly, treating you like part of the family!

Having previously lived in the area for many years I can say without any reservations that Cafe Via Biscotti is one of the best cafes not only in the area but in Melbourne. The team at Cafe Via Biscotti ensure they go above and beyond to please their customers redefining hospitality service. Their food is refreshingly tasty and well priced.. What a fantastic place to drink and eat. May I say that they were out of batman cupcakes when I last visited but after having a stern chat they promised to have then next time I showed up... 9.5 out of 10 only reason they didn't get a 10 is the cupcakes
Wow !!!!!!!!!!!! what am amazing café!!!! The coffee was made lighting fast and now they have a new lunch / dinner menu it's the perfect place to have a meal and some great company with all the locals that are always happy.
The staff them selfs are always up for a chat and are very very good looking :) it's my new local and it will be hard to beat

Delicious coffee, and the chilli scrambled eggs with bacon were very scrumptious indeed. Convenient parking right outside in a very cosy corner of Surry hills. Would go back in a heartbeat. One thing that I noticed was all the stamp cards of regular customers next to the counter, this is a very cute addition and shows just how local this place is.

I find it very sad when staff members who have gone way past their duty to keep a business going after new owners going, bring back customers and improve the cafe experience to something of what it used to be can have not have their contract renewed.
This young man has worked tirelessly for this business for 7 years and without him, there would have been no business.
I spoke to the owner recently to express my displeasure as a customer of this decision only to find that the owner turned her face away and never replied. This was so totally rude as I was actually trying to help her see the consequences of her actions by not renewing this young man's contract.
I am sure that those who frequent this cafe will vote with their feet. Perhaps then the owner will get the message when it affects the bottom line.
I wish to thank this young man for his wonderful service over the years and hope that he will be rewarded in a business that appreciates their staff. He can walk away holding his head up high for his dedication and hard work. Anyone reading this review should employ this young man and value him.
Obviously this business did not appreciate what a gem they had but they will when their business bottoms out without him. Many people gave this busines a second chance because of him.
I hope that this may be a lesson to other businesses- value your staff especially those who are dedicated and hard working and treat it not just as a job but as if it was their own along with great customer service.
I have to say in defence of Biscotti's that they serve great food and great coffee- but this situation has left a bitter taste in my mouth- my rating of 4 stars is because of the food and coffee not because of the inappropriate response I received from the owner when I enquired as to why this young man's contract was not renewed. Some might say it was not my business to ask- justice for this young man needed to be done.
Good coffee. I like the bacon and egg roll. Dog friendly rear courtyard. Plenty of parking.
