Review Fortunato's Italian Restaurant Sutherland - Sutherland

First time visiting this place and completely blown away with the taste and freshness of the seafood and all other dishes. I have tried chilli mussel, garlic prawn (the BEST), home made bread, the shire pizza, the spaghetti gamberi and the grilled seafood platter which were all amazingly delicious. Absolutely will be back again and I fully enjoyed my Friday night!!!

Fantastic food at a very reasonable price. Serving sizes are large and it’s BYO. The staff is lovely and friendly too. Best to book on weekends as it gets very busy.

Awful Pizza, awkward prices. At home I make some of the food displayed on the menu at Fortunato's. Their prices don't make much sense. How on earth are they charging $15 for a garden salad with cheese? That's wild! Their supreme pizza was nearly $30, for that you'd be expecting amazing quality - but it just wasn't. The pizza we got in particular looked like it was ordered by another table but taken back, and then reheated and given to us. What did they do to it? It was dry and dead looking, I was really offended! Not to mention it had a huge amount of cheap toppings and didn't have any quality at all. Their venue was nice, their tables were clean, the service was fine, but the quality of what we got was just lacking. A Pizza place that can't do a Pizza properly is a disaster. I won't even come back for their $10 pizzas on Tuesday. Oh one last thing, the music in the restaurant was atrocious. It's an Italian restaurant, play some Italian music... All that nonsense on the menu about the place being Italian is heavily overshadowed by what actually goes on at Fortunato's. If the pizza is anything to go by, then their food is made with absolutely no love or passion!

This delicious pizza made return customers out of us! There's nothing like great pizza packed full of vegetables. $10 Tuesdays will give you something very affordable and very tasty to look forward to all day ;) Thank you very much!

Good service and the food was great. We all had something different and everything was well cooked and presented nicely.

No point in making a booking. I called the day before and made a booking for 7:00pm. When we arrived, I was told that the previous booking hadn’t left yet. The manager proceeded to ask us what she should say to move the group along. We were then told that we would be waiting for 30 minutes. The staff had not informed the previous seating that there was a booking at 7 and tried to blame them for staying too late. It’s not the customers fault, it’s the venues fault for mismanaging the bookings. We did not receive an apology.

As pizza-lovers, my wife and I decided to check out Fortunato's, while in Sutherland. What a wonderful surprise! The food? Excellent. A great (if somewhat overwhelming) selection on the menu makes for excellent choice, and there is pretty much everything there for every taste. Great that you can get pretty much everything that is on the menu to take away if you wish. Entrees were delightful, and tasted authentically home-made. Wonderful. The pizza? Well, we are pretty discerning, as in we know what we like, and we like their pizza. Its a shame that the seating area is a bit small and cramped, but overall the whole experience was excellent. Maybe a bit $$ for every week, but once in a while, it will be a lovely place to visit. The rest of the time? We will take out. Looking forward to our next walk to Fortunato's

My partner and I walked pass the restaurant and decided to have a go without making any reservation. There are plenty of seats inside but the staff (man with long bear and moustache ) told us they are all reserved. Only tables outside are available. Not perfect but fine for us. But after dining for almost 2 hours (it took extremely long time for our dishes to come) we never saw any customer come in for those “reserved” table. Plus it was raining heavily and lighting and thunder. It was very scary sitting outside. Never got offer to moved inside even the restaurant look empty as the picture shown. We couldn’t even finish our dinner because we got wet from the heavy rain. Very bad customer service

This is not hate just honest feedback but upon entering I found the host welcoming with nice table service, the table chairs looked worn, the gnocchi burro which I ordered was ok but seemed I bit over priced for the size,
But what I found a bit disappointing was the bill.
The meal was around $16.80 and with the glass of Pepsi I ended up paying $26.80 so i found it disappointing tinting sorry.

The kids pizza meal was great value. Our meals were disappointing- veal with no flavour, meatballs baked til sauce was dry and overcooked vege's. Simple food not so great.
Another really good pizza place in the Shire! Have been here several times and never disappointed. Either dine in or home delivery, consistently good.

Ive eaten food from here many times and am never dissapointed. The food is great. Take away is always made and delivered on time and the dine in experience is equally as satisfying. The pesto feta pizza is to die for!!

Home delivery - definitely the best of an ok bunch. The Shire definitely doesnt have a vast array of excellent pizza places to chose from. Order did take over an hour (which we knew when placing the order) and was a little soggy as I'd say it sat in the heat box steaming itself for a while. But, as I said, it's the best of what's on offer for pizza home deliveries at the Sutherland end of the shire.

Do NOT order delivery from this place. I've tried them twice and twice they've taken over an hour and a half to deliver cold pizza.

There are plenty of pizza places where the food is just as good and they won't stuff you around

I just ordered Fettucine Carbonara through Menulog and unfortunately it was the most tasteless pasta I've had in my whole life. Undercooked bacon and no hint of garlic nor white wine. The lack of flavour in the dish was very disappointing. Could definitely do with some more texture to the dish (i.e. cooking the bacon for longer) and more garlic + white wine. I will not be ordering Fettucine Carbonara again.

We just wanted a quick bite and it was a bit fancy! Might go back without kids. In saying that, staff were very kid friendly & brought high chair, crayons etc.

Great food, really enjoyed our pizza & pasta.

Dine in prices are much higher (40%) than takeaway which we didn't realise until being seated, after looking at the menu online; so in hindsight we would have chosen to take away.

Will definitely order from here again.

Poor meal, poorly presented staff. My partner and I dined here for a local night out.

First impressions were quite good, the decor is lovely with large artworks and polished concrete floors. But our waitress was wearing leggings and a hoodie, with quite a lot of jewellery on. seemed quite casual for such modern looking decor.

The staff were helpful and polite but seemed a little scattered, were a bit confused about which meals we were ordering and which ingredients they came with.

I ordered the braised lamb shoulder which came out very tough as it was blackened on the outside. I had to saw back and forth with my knife to get through it. It was served with some plain beans on top of three small squashed potatoes. The sauce that it came in was nice, but nothing amazing. My partner ordered the seafood pasta which he said was just average.

The restaurant was quite loud but this is obviously out of control of the owners. Because of the quality of the meals we paid our bill and went elsewhere for dessert.

Overall not the worst rertaurant I've been to but certainly not one of the best.

The pizza base was thin and slightly crispy, and the pizza was loaded with delicious toppings. Predictably, the Meatlovers was very salty, but we're talking about a lot of bacon, cabanossi, leg ham and pepperoni all on one pizza here. I also tried a slice of the El Nacho ($19.90; only medium available) that had nacho, corn chips and other Mexican-inspired toppings. One of the kids looked at the guacamole on top and said: Mummy, this looks like
