Best home made Greek food. Its worth the hour drive to get traditional food. The Chilli mud crab was a must..The entrees were all so good even the Greek salad. Too hard to say what was my favourite dish as there were so many. Loved the Horta.

Decided to give this place a go been so local and was a little worried seeing the reviews. Turned out to be very good. The staff were quick to serve you, meals came in 30 minutes well cooked and we're nice and priced well. Felt they had a good number of staff only downside is meals probably need a little more salad. Give it a go is my advice.
I know yiannis for over 20 years. He is meticulous and sometimes bothersome because he wants to serve the best and he does. We love the prawns and the steaks ���

Here's my recommendation: go here for lunch with a friend. Order the mixed mezze! You get the freshest Greek salad, flash fried calamari, a few dips, grilled haloumi, and then the meat plate comes out with home cut chips...OMG. I can't remember how much it is but it's great value. Had it twice. Excellent service too.
Very good. Been here several times now and have never been disappointed. Like the fact that owners are always In the kitchen making sure everything is right( which it is ) . Price is fair . This is one place you will eat well and not regret it later.
I have been frequented since Earlwood days. Good food, always nice mezes to accompany my ouzo. Staff is personable and attentive. Sometimes they can be peaked out but its never been a problem for me. I will keep going back there.
Great!. Great food! Just had dinner there with 16 people after one of my Greek friends called this place the best greek food in Sydney. Had the $48 banquet and everyone loved the food. Great salad, great seafood, great lamb.
Minor quibbles about the service. A few drinks orders went missing and had to be reordered. Generally a little slow. Venue is nice enough: 7 out of 10.
None of that really matters when everyone is raving about how good the food is. Highly recommended.

Can't believe what I'm reading!. New Chambers Restaurant is BY FAR the best Greek food in Sydney!!! I can't believe the reviews...go back to the Eastern Suburbs where the restaurants have an in house Sommelier because you don't get that type of service at New Chambers...but what you do get is incredible, AUTHENTIC, fresh and generous portioned Greek food and friendly, down to earth service. My family has been following Yianni (the owner / chef) since he had Greek Islands Taverna in Earlwood. We have eaten at every Greek restaurant in Sydney and even if they are good, they never compare to Yianni's food. We always say "nothing beat's Yianni's!!!" And yes, the food takes a while because everything is cooked on the spot. The kitchen is small, but GET OVER IT!!! The food is well worth the wait!!!
This is what we usually order:
To start (Mezze):
Spanakopides (cheese and spinach triangles)
Horta (plate of cooked spinach)
Loukanika (Greek style sausages)
BBQ octopus
Greek Salad
Skordalia (garlic puree/dip...be warned, this is not for the faint hearted!!!)
Then, we order some mains to share:
BBQ garlic prawns on skewer
Quails
Either whole grilled snapper or a meat platter (depending on what we feel like)!!!
We also usually have ouzo with our mezze and a Karaffe of dry red wine with our mains.
And please don't think that I am related to the owners because I am not...my family and I really love this restaurant and will never stop coming here.
The New Chambers is GREAT. At last!! A restaurant (apart from Maccas and Thai) that you can order a delicious GLUTEN FREE meal. It is wonderful to be able to go for a meal with friends and know that your Coeliac diet is being catered for by informed staff. John will advise you what is able to be prepared gluten free (and there is quite a lot!) VERY happy to have found The New Chambers! (so what if you have to wait a few extra minutes on a Friday or Saturday night?) Will definitely be back.
Great. The food at the New Chambers, formerly known as the Greek Islands Tavern (Earlwood) is authentically Greek. The menu reminds me so much of the home cooked meals I grew up on.
The service at the New Chambers unfortunately is also authentically Greek, and you could be waiting for a while if you are not careful.
Prices are very reasonable and portion sizes are spot on. If you are after an Authentic Greek cuisine experience the New Chambers is the restaurant to pick!
Great food. We went for dinner Sunday evening and were really happy to find a great Greek restaurant that was local! Looked like there was a lot of regular patrons. Saganaki prawns was my favourite dish, very yummy, the greek salad was the best I have had mopped up with the complimentary bread. The moussaka was also the best I have tasted and the others agreed. Loved the greek music playing in the background and the service was good
