Review Vizio Caffe E Cucina - Sydney

Ruben Sanchez
First time going there and I'll be back for sure. I loved the food. Everything was delicious. The steak tartar was superb, I could say the best one I had in Sydney so far. All the staff is very friendly and kind. Cocktails are amazing and not too pricy.

I've been to Vizio a number of times since 2019 and had an amazing experience every time I went there. The food is fantastic; to me, the best italian restaurant in Sydney. The staff is always friendly and on top of everything. Can't recommend them enough!

Got a 30% discount from The Fork. Came here as a group of 4 and overall the good was okay even with the discount. The interior and ambiance were nice, service was good, mocktails were refreshing and the ragu and ravioli were decent. However the starters (kingfish and skewers) were average and tasted pretty bland. Would rate this place 3.7 🌟 but alas, couldn't, so rounded up to a 4 🌟.

Lovely lunch. We had pastas and focaccia. Focaccia will be nicer if hot from oven. The. Truffle pasta and the burratta spaghetti were really good. We then had an espresso and a tiramisu and it was lovely. Wish there were more pasta options. Will definitely go back again.

Had a 5-course set menu over 2 hours. Only found out what would be served at the spot - no option to amend anything. One tiny cup of soup and few small bread were treated as the first 3 courses, followed by the saltiest pasta ever. Both of us feel sick after dinner. And how can it be possible that there is no dessert included in a 5-course set menu?? Besides, no one will fill up your water without asking either. Feel robbed. Will not go back.

Fantastic place, super delicious pasta. Absolutely amazing flavours with a perfect cook on the pasta. Well worth a visit.

We had the set menu. The food was not as good as our last visit here. The service was good.

Must be the best restaurant in the world. The food is amazing. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly, which we needed last week. Their wine recommendations were perfect. My wife and I had had an argument that day and by the time we left Vizio, Matia sorted us out Do not miss this experience even if you have not had an argument.

My husband and I enjoyed dinner at Vizio on our first night in Sydney and it was absolutely amazing! We usually do not like to eat Italian food abroad (we are both Italians) as we like to try new cuisine. However this place is truly authentic, the staff is friendly and professional and the food exceeded our expectations and it is like the one we get back home! We will definitely suggest it if you are looking to taste true Italian food and wine!!

Delicious food, friendly staff, great ambiance. Lunch was amazing, can't wait to try dinner. A must visit place.

I had the most incredible evening with my friends! The food was absolutely divine, so tasty and creative. The service was warm and friendly, lots of smiles, surrounded by modern decor! Had the greatest time!! Highly recommend coming for dinner with friends, great for sharing!!!

What a wonderful restaurant. Such a sophisticated menu. The staff are charming with great excellent knowledge of the food and wine.

Nice place very good staff :) There are some vegetarian options which are very tasty such as the pumpkin gnocchi.

I had a Risotto and it was amazing. Staff (Guido) were very friendly and gave good advice on menu choice. Design and layout is amazing and I will definitely return for another Italian feast!

In love ! The food, the service, the atmosphere - everything was amazing. Visitors in Sydney and would definitely return.

We had my husband’s birthday dinner at Vizio. Food was amazing, staff were friendly and approachable, the venue is fabulous. Well done to the Vizio team. Our friends cannot stop raving about what a great night they had!!

Exceptional Italian restaurant with a great range of menu items for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We visited at dinner and sampled the 6 course degustation. Every dish we had was exceptional, the highlight for me was the calamari with pea puree and squid ink, it was cooked perfectly and bursting with freshness. The venue itself is very well fitted out and had a homely feel, this is amplified by the great service we received throughout the evening. Overall this is a remarkable venue, everything is made fresh in house, the service was great, the menu is very reasonably priced for the quality you receive and it's in a great location. Highly recommended.

If the aperol spritz arrived from Italy, I’d understand the delay. However, it was a Monday evening. The service felt neglecting
Linda
Wasn’t planning to go here on V-day - however we ended up here as the other restaurant was too crowded and didn’t take bookings. I would say we never regretted to come as the staff here is really friendly, food is delicious and we really enjoyed the vibe here!

The food was underwhelming.. the risotto was extremely salty and the gnocchi was also mediocre. We unfortunately won’t be back. The male waiter that served us had an attitude too. We asked him for recommendations but he was rudely mimicking our responses.

4.5/5 Vizio Caffe E Cucina is a modern Italian restaurant located in Woolloomooloo, a short walk from Hyde Park. I was here two years ago when they first opened and I return recently on a Friday night where it is buzzing, full of atmosphere. I arrive at Vizio Caffe E Cucina at 6pm and by 7pm, the restaurant is full. I am exhausted from the working week and am ready for a cocktail. The Sicilian Affair ($18) calls out to me with it's homemade limoncello, vodka, solerno orange liquer, orange sorbet and pineapple juice. The cocktail is refreshing, sweet and allows for the relaxing to begin!
La Ola Es Mia Cocina.
The restaurant is very vibrant and full of life, the service was beyond excellent !! And, the food was quite a treat, to the tastebuds. Noise levels were a little loud, to have a proper conversation with friends, and unfortunately the seating was a little tight. But overall, we enjoyed our experience here.

Thank you and kind regards.
Excuse Me Waiter
We haven’t been over to Wolloomooloo much lately and hadn’t noticed Vizio Caffe e Cucina had taken up residence on busy William Street, on the gateway strip between Hyde Park and Kings Cross. This chic Italian eatery features a variety of homemade pastas and more on its menu and we visited one night for a family dinner.

Came in by myself and received great service, a complimentary bocconcini dish. I had the puttanesca and a small repair juice which was delicious

A nice Italian themed cafe bar in the middle of the city with prices that aren't too bad but food that's not too far away from average. The staff were very nice and hospitable, giving us some complimentary mozzarella balls and the lamb skewers were quite tender and juicy but unfortunately the saporito dropped the ball. Unfortunately the awkward mix of the bresoala, the cheese and the rocket ended up with a sandwich that was a bit too dry but more importantly flavours that didn't work too well together for me. I've no doubt they have other strong hits on the menu as the place was quite packed when we visited but not quite for me.

A suave and elegant restaurant on the outskirts of the city, Vizio Caffè e Cucina is a fantastic location to enjoy delicious Italian cuisine. My favourite dishes was the pork neck - rich flavour, nice texture and sensational presentation. I'd also recommend from the mocktails list, the green drink if you like the taste of mint.

If you'd like to read more of my reviews, please check out my Zomato page and visit @cynthiaeats_ on Instagram for more photos!

Amazing food, amazing service, can not fault this place at all! Such good and wide choice on the menu, always a good option for everyone!

Everything we ordered from here was amazing! We had the sirloin special steak as mains and it was soft tasty juicy excellent.. surprised that I can say that it was one of the best steaks I’ve had!

The appetisers served were also great! The antipasti board was great! And the buffalo cheese thing we ordered was amazing as well, and it goes so well with the bread crumbs at the bottom and sun dried tomatoes.

The marina pasta was very tasty as well; tried my friends pork neck and loved it too.

Friendly staff and great ambience.
Snapshots Of Food
Whilst we were in Italy, we were quite literally just eating wood fired pizza, pasta and plenty of gelato. Each pizza and pasta was so unique in the parts of Italy that we traveled to but I couldn't wait to come home to eat something else! I honestly think we are spoiled for choice in Sydney - we have a huge variety of cuisine from all around the world. As we settled back into reality mode, I pulled up my calendar and realised I booked a review with Vizio (looks like we can't escape Italy).

Found this hidden gem in this area, their pasta dishes legit!
Even tho I bring it home for take away, the cold pasta still al dente not soggy! The ravioli and ragĂš pasta is my favourite. Must try their tuna with breadcrumb as well. Reminds me of one tuna Katsu in Japan! Their menu and taste really creative and fusion.
Mandy
Delicious food and amazing service despite how busy it was! Def a must if you’re craving some Italian!
Vivian Tsoi
The staff and food were so good! We had a beef tartare, salmon and seafood pasta... i thought it will not be full but surprisingly it was quite heavy.
Yes the pasta was quite good. But the yellowfin tuna I feel was better. The sauce was really good.

Came to this place due to the The Fork 50% discount but there is so much behind the doors practices to provide this discount. Like when you ask for still water they charge you $4 on the bill. If I had known I am paying $4 for water, I would have just asked for sparkling water and paid for it. Next, I ordered a gin and tonic and funny enough on the bill they charge for the shot of gin and the tonic separately on the bill, never seen such a thing before. Trying to make a buck on anything they can! However, they tried to compensate with a small mozzarella ball dressed in gazpacho as a peace offering but peace was never achieved.

On top of these shenanigans, the food is terrible. For entrees we started with a well presented arancini and three mince meat ball dressed with Woolworths/Coles mayonnaise topped with the driest of caper berries. The arancinis lack any use of good quality cheese or seasoning, when you order an arancini you expect a cheesy, oozy, crunchy and well seasoned (by black pepper) deep fried ball however it was quite plain and the use of zucchini added nothing except colour. Would be more interesting if they used their left over squid ink risotto to make the arancini, a unique and reusable dish that could also bring savings to a place that is trying to get bums on seats via discounts. The $26 dollar tartare again poorly seasoned, the mayonnaise used to dress the meat tasted like store bought mayonnaise with extra acidity, the capers on the plate were dry, onions were used to decorate the dish but added nothing, the parmesan crisp was a good idea to accompaniment the tartare however the tartare was presented as 3 big mince balls, so unfortunately not enough crisp for tartare. Better to use a circle ramekin to present a well seasoned tartare and top it off with the parmesan crisp. Also this was an Italian restaurant where was the use of extra virgin olive oil or any fresh seasonable vegetables to add zip and zing to a tartare, it was nowhere to be seen.

For mains the lamb Ragu gnocchi, a comforting dish cooked for hours slowly perfect for a rainy day, again a total miss. The sauce tasted like the water that the little lamb chunks were boiled in with the addition of the starchy water the gnocchi was boiled in, there was no depth from herbs or wine or any richness from the meat; the Ragu had no body!. There was also sage and orange zested used to garnish the meal which added no flavour or extra punch to the dish which was the worst presented dish. When you order gnocchi you expect light and pillowy pasta however the chef seems to not know how to make gnocchi. You try to use less flour when making gnocchi however these ear shaped gnocchis was a dry ball of raw dough. At least get the basics of a slow cooked ragu, with fresh gnocchi right as it can be a crowd pleaser of a dish.

The waiting staff were nice however they could have clearly explained the 50% voucher and what was included rather than milking tables for money. The staff additionally did not seek feedback even though they took back half eaten food back to the kitchen. So hopefully they read this review and focus on improving their food so they can make a profit so they would not need to offer 50% discounts. Also focus on pricing the menu according to the food on offer, as people who do not use such vouchers to dine here are being ripped off for exuberant prices! Forget this 50% voucher give us good reasonably priced food with attentive service which deserves tips, yes after this terrible service the waiters had the audacity to ask for a tip. Disappointing!!!
Food Queens Of Sydney
We had the best Italian food here and hands down it is one of our favourite places we have been to in a while. The staff were very friendly and recommended the best dishes. We highly recommend the Kingfish Carpaccio and the Dark Chocolate Mousse. Definitely try their pasta dishes as they are all home-made!
LL
The service was on point. Many friendly waiters who wasted no time to seat us or take our order. The food itself was a 3.5/5. The quantity was too little for the price.

We had dinner at Vizio Caffe e Cucina the other night and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The ambience is lovely, the staff are super friendly and up for a joke and the food was delicious. The highlight for me was the homemade ravioli with king prawns (pictured) - cooked al dente and packed with flavour. The eggplant, although tasty was over cooked but we finished it nonetheless. The desserts were also lovely, especially the chocolate mousse which was served with a divine salted caramel icecream. #vizio

My gf and I were catching up and celebrating my birthday early. We sat at the bar which was nice to sit and chat as well as watch the Bar staff make cocktails. I just wish they had bag hooks under the table so I didn’t have to put the bag on my lap the whole night.

Service was friendly and we were served a few red wines to try before we opted for a bottle. We shared the spaghetti cacio e Pepe, the beef and the broccolini. We enjoyed every dish then had a nice break before we ordered dessert. I wanted their tiramisu and my friend went for their dark chocolate mousse. Out of the two the mousse was better.

Even at our early seating of 5.30pm, the restaurant was busy and even when we were leaving, customers were waiting for a table. I definitely want to bring my husband on a date night!
Nikki Shah
Service was personalised, the staff were really knowledgable of their menu and would suggest off-menu items without pushing it, and the wine selection was decent! I would definitely come back here for date night! :-)
Flora Secreat
the restaurant environment is very good. If you like quiet place then you need to come on Monday.
Friendly staff, highly recommend fish!! Very tasty. Pasta a little bit salty .
Lettuce Celebrate Food
Visited for my birthday dinner and wanted to take advantage of dimmi/the fork 50% off but I had more than 10 to invite. I called up and they were happy to extend the offer to 14! Due to the discount the night was very worth it, take advantage of this offer while it still lasts 😉

When we came in, we were greeted immediately. Water was offered and poured immediately as well which always gives a good impression. They offered a free biscuit with a bit of cream cheese and herb per person.

Overall it was an amazing night! The food was great, presentation was perfect, dishes were served quite quickly which I never experience at Italian restaurants and the service was one of the best I have experienced! The waiter introduced each dish well, made lots of jokes and even made a rose for me out of foil! You can tell the pasta is handmade as there's a bite to the pasta you don't get at other places.

I would highly recommend you try this restaurant out and I would come back. Top pick would be the black angus beef flank, cooked perfectly it just melts in your mouth!
Tortuguita Comiendo
Came here on a special deal offered by The Fork where you get 50% off the food you ordered. I would normally order quite a bit especially with the discount but unfortunately my friend and I weren't that hungry so we only had beef tartare, gnocchi sorrentina and broccolini. I was happy with all food. The gnocchi was homemade and delicious especially with the tomato and mozzarella sauce. Broccolini was well cooked with a bit of a crunch to the vegetable still. The beef tartare was fresh but I think the meat could have been chopped more finely.

Would come back and recommend it to others.
The Miniature Life
I found myself at Vizio alongside my wonderful work family for an intimate Christmas dinner and Secret Santa gift exchange. Located in the beautiful suburb of Wooloomooloo, Vizio is a really popular spot for tasty pasta and classic breakfasts too. Walking in you are greeted by friendly smiles as you enter the beautifully lit dining room. The rustic wooden furnishings make for a homely entrance and a really inviting space to enjoy a lovely dinner. I’ll be honest, walking in I thought the restaurant was perfect for a date. We were shown to a long table to seat 14 of us and enjoy our dinner. I always feel awkward dining along those long tables considering how many people I normally have to pass just to get out! It was definitely a cozy fit along the table, and the table itself isn’t too wide making for a bit of a tight squeeze with all of our gifts.

Group booking last minute- thank you for being so accomdating. Ambience tick. Food tick. Fantastic staff tick. Thank you Alexandro and staff. Will be back again and again🏆

What's better than going to Italy - going to an authentic Italian restaurant with top notch service. We had earthy greenbowl and a salmon bowl from the lunch menu. Could not fault anything. We added a couple of wines to our and they were delicious. The have a pressurized wine cabinet to keep the quality of wine by the glass at its best.

Ordered arancini and fritturina for starter, both were good. For main we had Barramundi with tomato sauce and risotto marinara, hubby liked barramundi saying it reminded him fish dishes he had when he was a kid.
Eunifoodie
The service started of pretty good but it went downhill from there unfortunately. The food was good but the risotto was very undercooked - it was still pretty hard in the middle. We let the waiter know but he refused to believe that it was so, and kept on saying that it’s the way it’s supposed to be served. This definitely dampened my experience there, honestly would’ve given this place a 4.
Nozaira Sultana
Melt in your mouth gnocchi are what dreams are made of and Vizio doesn’t disappoint one bit. Went to this place for a team lunch and loved the experience. The ambience was good , the staff were courteous and friendly and the gnocchi was amazing. Would definitely be back to try more of their menu.
HungryForMore
We came for a weeknight dinner and were blown away by this place. Service was warm and welcoming. The deep fried mix seafood with sweet jalapeno mayo was light and crispy and the sauce was delicious. The ravioli was light and flavoursome, and special lamb ragu pasta was hearty. And the dark chocolate mousse dessert was just perfection. We honestly could not fault the food and can't wait to come back!
Pheebs
Very attentive and friendly service. The pastas were only so-so (too dry and over cooked) and not enough sauce in our Angus beef flank steak. Overall t wasn’t too bad, just wasn’t anything amazing. The best part of the meal was actually the prosciutto & cheese grazing board and the wines ....
Coco And Vine
In Short: Breakfast, lunch or dinner, if you find yourself in Woolloomooloo, you must stop in at Vizio Caffe e Cucina. The team here are passionate about bringing the best of Italian cuisine right to the heart, and tummies, of Sydneysiders. Anyone who has been reading our blog, knows my love of authentic, simple Italian food…and yes, maybe I have a bias because of my heritage, but c’mon, I would struggle to find anyone out there who doesn’t have an affinity for the cuisine from the land of ‘la dolce vita’?!
The RnB Diary
On the lower section of William Street in Woolloomooloo, you’ll found Vizio Cafee e Cucina. As name suggests it’s a café for a good dose of caffeine by day and restaurant for wining and dining by night. As well as a handful of signature cocktails, the wine list is extensive featuring both Australian and Italian varieties. Pinot Bianco 2016 ($13 / glass) from Trentino Alto Adige in Northern Italy is a tad too fruity and sweet for our palate but may be ideal for some who don’t desire aged wine; on the other hand Velius Rosso Asciutto 2010 ($18 / glass) from Emilia Romagna, a blend of 90% Barbera and 10% Croatina, is s dark in colour, low in tannins and complements the pasta beautifully. Together with a decent selection of cured meat and cheese, this is right up our alley.
Does My Bomb Look Big In This
The welcome at Vizio Caffè e Cucina feels warm and syrupy. It’s a family-run business headed up by the Fuscaldo family, the people behind Portobello Caffe in Circular Quay, and Ragu Pasta & Wine Bar in Westfield Sydney. Their latest venture is set on the lower part of William Street, close to the Australian Museum.General Manager Matia Zoffoli, who married into the family, leads an engaged and enthusiastic Italian team who are keen to convey both food and culture. This sentiment is echoed in the beverage list – one of the best I’ve seen – that lays out so many ways to drink, you are likely to have trouble choosing. While their aperitivo selection of nine Italian and two Australian liqueurs each drunk as The Spritz begs a “bitter” exploring, I couldn’t take my eyes off their signature cocktail list. It’s an all-thriller-no-filler selection of innovative and unique cocktails, including one that uses smoked buffalo mozzarella. Obviously I had to order this drink, named for the former King of Italy, Umberto I ($18). Blended with basil infused Malfy gin and clear tomato water, this cocktail drinks like a Bloody Mary dressed in sheep’s clothing. Strangely, I was even more taken with Palma ($18) which, through judicious use of roasted capsicum, pineapple, Red Okar and turmeric soda, still...

Went with a friend for a mid week catch up. Lovely and friendly waitstaff and excellent food. Had a shared Caprese salad (with lush buffalo mozzarella ) and an excellent pasta ragu topped off by a complimentary glass of red. Recommended

Much needed on William St with Olivetti gone, this place is a little fancy and snooty but was busy at 10am for breakfasts and coffees. Crab benedict is tasty but small if you get the one egg option. The juices and smoothies are good value. Coffee was ok but lacked body. Lots of Italian options plus some takeaway foods.
Love At First Bite

By day the place is a cafe serving breakfast and lunch dishes, by night it is a restaurant serving drinks and dinner. We popped by for brunch on a weekend and will share with you our experience.

Vizio Caffe e Cucina is an Italian cafe and restaurant located in Woolloomooloo, very close to the Sydney CBD on William Street near Hyde Park. Vizio opened its doors in late 2017 and is a popular location for people working and living in the area to grab a coffee during the day as well as after work drinks and dinner with an extensive food and beverage menu. The venue itself is sleek, spacious and welcoming.
Eat Play Love Travel
There’s a new Italian restaurant in Woolloomooloo, and this one throws class around like confetti. That and the food is delicious. Vizio Caffe e Cucina opened its doors in August 2017, offering Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs a modern interpretation on Italian dining. And serving brunch, lunch and dinner, it’s a true triple threat.
Thewhereto
Vizio is a chic cafe situated downhill from the Kings Cross towards Hyde Park on the right side of the road. It is easy to spot, just look for a bunch of motorbikes parked out the front, it is next door to a motorcycle dealer. This cafe is also a restaurant at night. As you enter to the right is the coffee machine and a range of sweet options and cakes if you are in a hurry. It is recommended to sit in enjoy the slick modern fit out and order from the menu.
The Naked Food Addict
Really loved the relaxed atmosphere here! Beautiful service, lovely set up, and the food was fantastic. We tried the earthy green bowl, the acai bowl and the crab benedict.... it was all DIVINE! The eggs were poached to perfection, and it is safe to say I would definitely return and would definitely recommend!
Alana De Roma
We went on a little drive and visited Vizio for a late brunch on Saturday Morning after some friends had recommended it. To say that I left feeling satisfied is an understatement, the staff were so friendly, well informed about the things on the menu, and treated us like family. The food, was amazing! Everything coming out of the kitchen looked great, so we took some time having a drink, and looking at the food pass by, before deciding on the Earthy Green Bowl and the Risotto with Sausage. Both were Amazing, but judging by the compliments from the table next to us, I feel like we could have ordered any of the other dishes and been happy. It looks like we will need to go on more Saturday morning drives to Woolloomooloo, because we will definitely be back.
Lollieats
Beautiful, relaxed atmosphere with wonderful and friendly service. The breakfast was outstanding and beautifully presented. Highly recommend the pancakes, they came with poached pear, ricotta, walnuts, maple syrup and cookie crumble. Superb !! Loved the experience and would highly recommend this amazing restaurant.

A fresh take on Italian! My wife and I, were lucky enough to dine at this new Woolloomooloo Gem on a Saturday night and were instantly impressed with the decor, the inviting aromas and the welcoming smiles of staff.

The attention to detail from the staff and the extra mile they went, to make us feel as though we were welcome was a refreshing change. Little things, from tags on the wine served, explaining the wine, extensive knowledge on each dish and each wine and beer, really made the difference.

Our culinary journey began with a cured meat board; Delicate culatello, a truffle infused salami and a wagyu bresola were among the suggestions from our waitress, served with focaccia and the most amazing homemade pickled vegetables. This was followed by italian ‘mac and cheese’ croquettes, served with shaved prosciutto. Simply put, a unique triumph of flavour.

The main premise of the menu is sharing, and for main, we had decided to share the prawn raviolo, the Tagliatelle ragu and the Agnello. All three were, as the Italians say, Delizioso! The prawn raviolo came with tomato water, an intense broth, which was amazing; and the ragu was the way Nonna used to make, with homemade pasta and a rich slow cooked meaty sauce, served with an indulgent helping of parmesan.
The Agnello was the star. Slow cooked Lamb neck, with potatoes, broccoli puree, a leak ash(Who knew this was a thing?), and pickled onions, provided a memorable dish, which was extremely well balanced; between the rich melting lamb, the intensity of the leak ash and the sweetness of the pickled onion, the result was absolutely brilliant! I’d come again just for this!

The meal rounded out with a very well curated cheese platter and matching dessert wines/cocktails, a perfect end to a great meal. We cannot recommend this place enough and will be back for more.
