One of the best places for Italian cuisine. The pasta at the place is really amazing and so is the gnocci. They have indoor sitting as well as the vegan options
A colleague and I went for a Saturday lunch and we impressed. We had a great chat with the waiter about the freshly made pastas. The spaghetti with mussels was excellent. The texture was perfect al dente, but different from dried spaghetti. It complimented the mussels very well. And gosh there were so many. The gnocchi was firm and delicious. The house dessert was very very good. And comes with a nice surprise. Will definitely go back.
Delicious food and great service. The truffle pasta special was amazing! We also had steak tartare and it was one of the yummiest and most interesting steak tartare’s I’ve had! The ragu pasta and dessert were also really good.
Definitely a favourite spot!
Good good and adequate service. The servings are decent and flavors are quite nice. The pork tenderloin was a little dry, but each element paired perfectly and I enjoyed eating it. The rigatoni and parpadelle were both delicious, so was the gnocchi which was light and fluffy.
Pappardelle : 😁 Great
Gnocchi: 😍 Amazing
Roast Pork : 😍 Amazing
Rigatoni: 😍 Amazing
Swiss Mushroom & Peas : 😁 Great
Of the abundant Italian restaurants, A Tavola was the place to be on a Monday night. Great atmosphere and amazing waitstaff service. Food was beautiful. I highly recommend the Roast Pork or if you’re wanting to try their pasta, I would recommend their pappardelle. Enjoyed the experience and I will definitely come back again.
There's this enormous long marble table sitting 18 people. We sat at the end and in front of a Italian Toaster. The Lamb Pasta and the Dessert, Chocolate and Crumbs in a Coffee Cup were Amazing. Fresh Salad. Great Company. Waitress from Belgium, Lieke, had great service.
A most enjoyable evening!!!
A Tavola is my favourite Italian restaurant in Sydney! I live in Melbourne and my partner lives in Sydney, so I visit Sydney quite often. Every time I’m in Sydney, we always come to A Tavola. The pastas are delicious and the cremino al cioccolato is out of this world! A chocolate goodness that makes my tastebuds dance.
Ambience is great. Staff is very informative and friendly. Food is quickly served. Ordered their signature Pappardelle Lamb, Pasta is soft and silk, fresh ingredients, and texture is great, lamb is tender, it’s delicious, but i would think the food is too salty for me. Perhaps i should have wine to balance out, however I dont like wine (i know).

We were in Sydney one night and felt like having Italian - something not particularly unusual to be honest. We knew of A Tavola but hadn’t visited yet so it seemed like a good idea to drop by. It’s a quaint place that stretches back quite a way from its street frontage. Its popularity meant it was packed - which is generally a good sign that the food is good - and it was. Fortunately we’d booked before arriving so we were lucky!
Exceptional food, the pastas were so delicious we did not take a photo. I had the Ravioli and my partner had their signature ragu parpadelle. Pasta ribbons soft like silk and delicious satisfying raviolo.
Highlight of the night was their signature desserts which was simply the best dessert I have had. They both come with a little theatre. I will not release any spoilers.
The Hazelnut sour cocktail was off the charts.
We were served by Marko and another gentleman who were both top notch.
Cannot wait to be back !
Exceptional and authentic Italian pasta dishes!! Staffs were super friendly and clearly explained the menu out for us.
Trying any of the pasta dish is a must! We ordered the scallops to start off with and these were cooked exceptionally well!! Highlight of the day was definitely the papadrelle dish
Thank you for having us, it was a lovely experience!
I have been wanting to visit this Italian restaurant for over a year. Originally recommended by a friend and the food did not let her down. The restaurant is housed in a quaint old building. There is additional seating in the back and they also hold pasta making classes.
The pasta Rigatoni Al Ragu was perfect. Quite flavoursome and stood ahead of the same dish in peer restaurants. The meat was tender and perfect.
This place is literally heaven. Thou the price is high , it’s worth every bite. Ambiance is soft and romantic. Service is impeccable, food is fantastic and loved the long dining atmosphere. Truly a quality dining experience.

Tried the Papardelle and it was divine! Pasta was splendid.. the downside was the wait period because there are only a few staff taking orders and serving people. Overall, I still love the food and will surely come again.
Excellent service and exquisite cuisine. Highly recommend their:
Carpaccio di manzo - this was an entree and it was really hard to top this one! Full of flavour and texture.
Conchiglie con polpo - tad spicy but complemented well with the octopus and sauce.
I think the door to the bathroom could be fixed a little, the door relies on a little latch which doesn’t close the door securely. With there only being one unisex bathroom, I think this is worth looking at. But then there’s Aesop hand balm and hand wash, so that compensated just a tiny bit!
came for lunch, ordered 2 specials - a crab spaghetti & tagliatelle ragu. pastas are freshly made so the textures were great! the crab pasta didnt have much crab flavour. the ragu was nice but lacked a bit of depth. overall a nice meal, though for 70 bucks for 2 pastas, slightly on the pricey side
AUTHENTIC ITALIAN EXPERIENCE!
The first time I ate at A Tavola I stumbled across It, I had such an amazing experience I couldn't wait to take my partner here. After visiting the website I noticed that the family is from Abruzzo as is my family - I was even more excited for my boyfriend to try traditional food (that for once I haven't cooked). We came here on Saturday for our Anniversary and his Birthday. Everything from making my reservation to even receiving a confirmation call, being seated and requesting an Abruzzo red wine was fantastic ! The Team at A Tavola made sure every request was taken care of and we felt as if we were at home relaxing.
I have never seen my partner enjoy complimentary bread as much as he did ! I was lucky enough to even get a bite of it before he scoffed it down.
We had ordered 1 entree and 2 mains from the special board menu. Along with Salumi Misti.
The entree was burrata cheese with pickled Cauliflower, balsamic reduction and mouth watering capsicum puree complemented by pork crackling all elements were incredible alone but magical when paired together.
My main was Beef cheek Ragu with homemade Paparedelle which they were hand rolling when I walked in. My partner order the Meat dish, Beef sliced thinly and perfectly pink in the middle this was complemented with leek puree, rosted potatoes and turnips.
I just wanted to thank the team at A Tavola for such an amazing experience and incredible food! You will definitely be seeing us again soon!
A Tavola is usually packed but when you go to A Tavola for Monday lunch, you get the whole place to yourself! If the weather is good, then the tables at the back is so nice to enjoy your meal. The portion of pasta was surprisingly big - twice bigger than other places. The menu is well considered and it's hard to choose what to order. I think they have large selection of wines too. Next time I would like to try other dishes...The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. When we were leaving the restaurant, three staff were making pasta on the tables!
Come for the pasta, stay for the service, the wines, the atmosphere. A Tavola is about as good as traditional Italian food gets in Sydney...
Hand made pasta
fresh cheeses
High quality ingredients.
Excellent service
nice atmosphere
not a vast selection on menu but recommend ordering off the specials board.
A lovely Italian restaurant walkable from Kings Cross station. The main dining area is located upstairs if it appears to be a function on the ground floor. The pasta was very good especially the pappardelle with braised beef. Of course check the wall for the handwritten menu. My favourite part was the desert though ahahaha. The cremino al cioccolato served in a cappuccino cup is so perfect and wonderful, I think it's worth ordering one entirely for yourself.

One of the best pasta places in Sydney. The actual pasta itself is so silky, flavoursome and chewy. The venue is unassuming and homely. Staff were Italians and had good service. I look forward to going back sometime.
The most amazing food and Italian experience. My 9 yr old son and I loved it...A must go in Sydney.
Fresh pasta, amazing service, great choice of Italian wines. Small place so book ahead. All staff were Bellissimo
This place never disappoints. The service is incredible, the ambiance is amazing and the food is to die for. I recommend A Tavola to all my friends and family - by far my favourite restaurant in Sydney!
Legit, best pasta I've ever had. I honestly didn't know a vegetarian dish with what effectively is pasta and mushrooms could ever make me so content. Do yourself a favour and order the Tagliatelle with Porcini or Portobello mushrooms. It will blow your mind!
Great service. Beautiful food. Something special about this place, always has been.
Pasta is cooked perfectly and flavours are just spot on.
That cremino for dessert is simply one of the best dessert dishes I have ever had and is worth going for alone.
Authentic Italian food. I would highly recommend this for pasta lovers.
The pasta here is amazing. The pappardelle was so silky and the sauce was thick and rich full of meaty flavour. The squid ink pasta was also great, but there wasn't much seafood. Great restaurant for a catch up, but you're only allowed to stay for 2hours
Great food and service. I would highly recommend a visit to enjoy a great meal. The pasta's are sensational! Bravo
The service was fantastic and I'd go back in a heartbeat
Highly recommend for an authentic Italian night out. Walking in and smelling the delicious food and looking at the grand dining table feels like you've been welcomed into a beautiful home. It operates on 2hr time slots, so they are keen to get you moving and ordering pretty quickly. I made a quick decision with the sword fish, and was regretful when everyone else had thick, full bowls of pasta arrive in front of them. Lucky for me, my friends are good sharers.
Superb location and easy to walk by the front and miss the exceptional experience within. The decor inside is italian themed and the fresh pasta hanging adds to the experience. I highly recommend making a reservation well in advance as we were seated in the upper section as the lower floor was full. The lighting, the staffing and the drinks were perfect before leading into the exceptional starters and mains.
The fresh pasta is a whole new level of italian bringing that authentic italian taste to Sydney. I can understand all the highly rated reviews of this location as it is the closest to authentic italian I have tasted outside of italy. We went here on an anniversary outing and the whole experience at A Tavola added to this occasion. Highly recommended and will be back for sure!

This is a romantic restaurant that is the perfect date spot for any special occasion. The staff are friendly, the wine list is amazing and the fresh made pasta is to die for in their dishes. This is Italian dining as it should be. The huge communal table is great if you enjoy the buzz of the happy crowd and the back room tables perfect if you want to wine and dine alone with your special someone. Go for any of the pasta dishes with any of the seafood options and you can’t go wrong. As this place is for a special occasion the price reflects that. Having only frequented the one in the city I will say that one at Bondi looks just as enticing - will have to head there for that next special evening.
We came by on a Friday for an early dinner without a booking, and were lucky that they can fit us in. We were seated in the middle of the big communal table as you enter, sharing it with other diners. The atmosphere was great as the place start to fill up, people chattering away, warm lighting & inviting decor. The staff were friendly. We had some oysters to start, natural and with a blood orange granita, both styles were nice and fresh, perfect way to start a meal. For mains I had one of the specials, the baby octopus with casarecce pasta. I've never had casarecce pasta before, which is a long piece of pasta in a twisted S shape. Aside from the shape, the pasta itself was a bit dense, together with cime di rapa sauce (which is made from the green veg rapini and has a bitter tone), the dish has a real rustic, earthy, winter feel. It was nice, but for me was just a bit too heavy. My friends had a couple of the other specials, which were both superb, and gave me food envy! The pappardelle with lamb ragu had the silkiest of pappardelle. The squid ink spaghetti had a nice flavour and fresh seafood. The only real disappointment was the complementary bread which was a little bit dried. But really just a very minor chip off a great meal.
SERIOUSLY DELICIOUS!! We really felt we were in Italy with the great fresh produce, lovely setting and the wait staff were fantastic. Will definitely be back!
Visited this place for our anniversary and it totally made me feel like a special day. They gave us a table with 2 seats with a beautiful candle on the table. When a guy came to explain the menu, I was amazed. They know what they cook and serve. Ordered mushroom and peas starter. Oh YuM ! My partner and I fought for it till the last bite and that last drop of sauce on the plate. Gnocchi for main course was alright. I have tasted better gnocchi dishes. The lamb dish braised in red wine was heavenly. Simply fine. I would go there again and again, and again !
We came here by chance, and left feeling lucky to have found this place. Originally wanted to go a place around the corner (also Italian) but couldn't get a table, so walking past we saw this place and decided to give it a try.
The food was fantastic, the service was decent, and the atmosphere was lovely and felt very authentic... I really like the one long dining table that everyone sits at, and I was especially pleased that the waiter sat my date/companion and I on the same side of the table (next to each other) rather than across from each other.
Would very much love to come back here and try some more of the beautiful Italian dishes.
A full immersion into italy in Sydney. The service is impeccable and the food is so beautifully crafted. A wonderful place with both a lover or a couple of good friends.
Just gorgeous. Amazing pasta (the gnocchi special was to die for). Wonderful service and lovely atmosphere. The Italian waiter is a little difficult to understand but, hey, that all just adds to the authenticity:) A favorite place to go.
Our first night in Syndey we were recommended to try this place. I had booked a few weeks in advance being Easter weekend, and we were treated so well all night by all the staff. The menu is short but packs creativity and flair showcasing the very best of traditional italian cuisine. We indulged in burata mozzeralla, polipo with a beautiful potato puree and pumpkin fettucine with honey bugs. We also had the fish of the day which was fresh, delicious and also wines to match. Dessert of Figs with Marscapone and Chocolare Ganache with salted caramel and mirangue were highlights of the night washed down with a Barolo Grappa. Could not recommend this place any higher. When you match perfect service with traditional Italian food you cannot make for a better experience. Well done tonight to the staff and kitchen.

In a city with such a high standard of Italian cuisine, A Tavola stands out to be the best of the best in Sydney. Their fresh handmade pasta and daily specials menu are executed to perfection, making A Tavola a restaurant that is very easy to fall in love with.
The layout of A Tavola is incredible! They have turned an old house into a great restaurant. The vibe is great and the staff make you feel like you're in a modern day Italy. All the food we had was delicious!! If you don't mind paying a little bit more for great food, you have to check this place out.
Hands down, my favourite restaurant in Sydney. I have been coming here for years and it is consistently exceptional food, service and ambience.
The staff are delightful and make a real effort to ensure that your experience is of the highest quality. They are always knowledgeable about the menu and have never failed to recommend the perfect accompanying wine.
I find it hard to go past any of the ragu pasta options which make my mouth water just thinking about them! The Red Cabbage Salad is also delicious and a beautiful balance of flavours and textures. Not to be missed is the unforgettable Cremino al Cioccolato which is life changing. The most indulgent dessert I have ever had. Please do try it!
I cannot recommend A Tavola, Darlinghurst more highly and hope it stays around forever!
My boyfriend took me here on my birthday for a surprise. It is gorgeous. The wait staff, the food, the intimate atmosphere, the decor, the wine. Just sublime. We had cerviche, spicy octopus and sausage pasta, beef flank and cremino al cioccolato for dessert. It tasted perfect and was wonderfully presented. Hands down one of the best places if you want to go on a fancy date and throw a few hunnids. The wine and beer we chose were also fantastic!!
I couldn't fault this place in any way - service, food, atmosphere - waiters are great - really know their stuff. We let the waiter decide what we should eat so that we could have a mouth party!

This is now in my top 3 Sydney Italian restaurants - Pendolino (an La Rosa actually) and Sagra are my other two. Love love love that the pasta is so so so fresh and love that the menu (while minimalist) highlights fresh produce with some modern twists.
I enjoyed dining at A Tavola - the food was freshly prepared and amazing. The desserts were the stand outs for me. Extensive wine list = awesome!
I live pretty close yet I havent been to A Tavola even though I have read many great reviews about the place. It was only when my mum who was visiting from overseas wished to have some pasta I decided to take her there to celebrate her birthday.
As it was Friday lunch, the restaurant wasn't that busy and we sat the back where there were non communal tables. Staff were all friendly and the food we ordered was delicious!
We started off with some glasses of wine and their scallops (special menu) which looked delicate but was light and had lots of flavour. Their signature pappardelle ragu was silky smooth and so so good! We had to order one each so that we did not fight over it. We also had their cos lettuce salad for our side which was light, refreshing and cut the richness the of the ragu.
We couldn't leave without trying their dessert so we had their signature Cremino which was nice but I found it too rich and thought of my husband who would love this dessert. My mums mango tart with cinnamon ice cream was nicer and their cinnamon ice cream was amazing. Heavy in cinnamon flavour (which I love, and wish it was a bigger scoop!) with the mango tart being more of a lighter dessert which was better to end the heavy meal.
Still I'm glad I got to try A Tavola and I will be back with my husband who will love their pappardelle and Cremino.
One of the nicest Italian eateries I've been to! Authentic, delicious dishes (inc handmade pasta), super friendly and attentive staff, cosy ambience- what more can you ask for? We were seated next to each other along a communal bench, however it felt like we had our own private "space". I highly recommended the Rigatoni Ragu and Pinot Grigio wines. Blink and you will miss this restaurant, which is just a short walk from Taylor Square/Kings Cross. A wonderful way to celebrate our birthdays on a Thursday evening - felt like practising my (very basic) Italian :)
Love this place! Been several times and it sure doesn't disappoint. Menu is simple but very tasty dishes! We had the rigatoni ragù, pappardelle with tomato base with mozzarella and a bowl of green cos lettuce salad. Absolutely delicious. Good portion sizes and attentive wait staff as well. The only critique is the fact that it's a bit small, and can get really packed! But I guess it's worth it!
Every single time I visit Sydney I come here. Been coming nearly 7 years now and am never disappointed. My mouth is watering looking at that pappardelle! Wonderful knowledgeable staff and truly authentic Italian.
If you’re looking for some authentic Italian just a stone’s throw away from the Cross, look no further than A Tavola. This polished little gem in Darlinghurst ticks a lot of boxes on my checklist, from its bare bones menu (most of the menu consists of ever changing blackboard specials) to the friendly, patient wait staff who explain the dishes to you (helpful when most of it is in Italian) and finally, the understated decor, with touches of modernity like the trendy copper hanging lights and a huge, luxe marble table downstairs.
The Friday lunch thing is pretty special, and with BYO it makes it more affordable, but also a really good buzz at night
Excellent fresh pasta
Wines a tad expensive at night and no cheaper options
Beautiful service and food. Me and my boy friend had a gorgeous
Night!
Love the Pappardelle!. Went here last month for a casual night out..turned out the ambience was quite romantic and intimate :P Service was A+, our servant described and explain each of the menu..for a semi fine dining restaurant, it was unexpected..I got the Pappardelle, my friend got the Orecchiette and we shared the sorbet for dessert..Would love to come back and try their other menus..Pappardelle with Duck Ragu was smooth, silky and rich at the same time..The sauce was rich but not too empowering..bellissima~
Fridays is the only day they are open for lunch, and we are led to a light filled small room down some stairs, while the long marble table is covered with flour, pasta sheets and little hand operated pasta machines. The team is busy, carefully creating their hand made pasta.
All of a sudden the room was awash with an unassailable nutty aroma and then we spotted our waiter floating towards us with a warm plate of the ravioli. Six large poppy freckled triangles stuffed with tender shreds of duck wallowed in a pool of burnt butter, sage and slivers of mustard fruit. The elements combined to form a nuanced mouthful of pasta, gamey meat and at times a surprising murmur of sweetness.
5 Top Places to visit this July. The pastas are made fresh and reminds me of Italy :’) Their rich ragu with pappardelle pasta and a glass of red will keep you on your toes for more. Perfect for a catch-up or date night. The restaurant is narrow but there are three floors so if you’re going with a large group, make sure you book ahead.
The.Best.Ragu.Ever. The ragu was slowly braised for 8 hours so it falls apart with the slightest jab with a fork and almost melts in my mouth. The pasta was freshly made in house and I have to say it was the best pappardelle I've tasted. Despite being so delicious, it was a very generous serving and I just could not eat anymore so there was half a bowl left :(
Ever since the very first time I ate at a tavola, I’ve been well and truly smitten. It’s one of those places that I don’t think I’ll ever tire of. We’re talking simple Italian at its best. A pasta-focused blackboard menu that never fails to excite. Combin
When we arrived at A Tavola Darlinghurst, I stopped to admire the huge marble table in the front dining room where the pasta is made fresh every day. The envious home cook in me even started plotting "The Great Marble Table Heist" for a couple of fanciful minutes.
A Tavola in Darlinghurst is one place I’ve been meaning to get to for a while. So when my friend’s husband floated it as a potential venue for a surprise birthday dinner, I was first to support it! Well known for their handmade and very fresh pasta, and t
Favourite italian in Sydney. The specials are always amazing and all the food is fresh and delicious - entrees, mains and desserts. The Cremino dessert is of my favourite desserts ever - must try!
Amazing for a function !. I recently had my birthday here with 15 guests. It, as usual, was spectacular.
Elena, the restaurant manager, is a real star.
Cannot recommend enough. Food and service are flawless. Will continue to come for years !
Perfection. This is a hidden gem. Great service, lovely environment, beautiful, intelligent food. Go!
It was awesome. Great service food was amazing so fresh and so much flavor. Dessert is a must!
Amazing! Highly recommend the pappardelle con ragu for dinner and the
cremino al cioccolato for desert
This place is so good! We went there on valentines day and we were impressed. The stand out dishes were the pork terrine and the cremona al cioccolato dessert - both some of the best food we have eaten. The lamb ragu was also great.
Night started off pretty crap as we were put on the long 'sharing table' with people all around us. Seats are positioned awkwardly, we could clearly hear all the conversations around us. we asked to be moved to a private table but you have to request those during your booking. Wasn't happy but nothin we could do so we wee just going to stick it out. After about 15min we were offered a private table in the courtyard and we quickly took up the offer. The night got so much better after that. Food was amazing and big portions too, my boyfriend was surprised and very happy about that. The ambience was great, service was great and just a all round enjoyable night.
Beautiful italian fare. Went here for dinner over a year ago and can still remember the taste of the mushroom and hard ricotta salad, dishes were marvellous and service to match. Recommend midweek as some friends of ours had to wait a long time for their food on a busy Saturday night - but some of the best Italian in town.
First Date Venue. Believe it or not people that write reviews on this website do go on dates... Ocasssionly. A tavola is a great venue for a first date from my experience anyway, yet be sure to book a table at the back so you dont need to share your awkward moments at the communal table.
The food was fantastic and portions were more than generous. I would probably suggest sharing, Lady and the Tramp style as it was great to get a taste of a number of their scrumptous dishes, fresh pasta made daily, mmm mmm.
Service was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable.
Definitely reccomend and will be returning for my next carb loaded pasta craving!
Visited on a Tuesday night with my boyfriend, just a really lovely experience. The service food and space were beautiful. The product knowledge of the waitress was wonderful and she matched the wine perfectly, complimented all courses. Can't recommend this place highly enough, will definitely be back.
The food, upstairs ambiance and service were first class. We'll be back!

Staff are delightful and food is just that bit different... Certainly not a pasta I could make at home. Highly recommend... Splash out for specials. Well worth it!
Good but expensive. Nice atmosphere, good and original italian food with a modern twist. Pity about the size of the bill, not really value for money.
Tastful. Lovely food, lovely atmosphere, attentive service. I enjoyed the seared scallops entree and mushroom ravioli main very much. The complementary bread and chili oil is a nice touch. A small hiccup about the staff bringing out extra plates and cutlery for sharing when, well, I wasn't sharing with anyone. But other than imagined requests of the staff like that, everything was perfect. Thanks, A Tavola.
True Italian. I really like the food here, in my opinion genuine and simple but flavoursome. The wait staff were knowledegable and friendly. Yummy desserts!
Fantastic! Simple but elegant menu with a diverse specials board. The staff are knowledgable and friendly. The complimentary focaccia when you sit down is a nice touch and the fresh pasta is superb.
Loved it, beautiful specials (the lamb ragu was devine), very attentive service, extensive italian wine list, sat out the back, can't wait to return.
Located in the hussle and bussle of Victoria Road opp another great eatery namely The Victoria Rooms, this gourmet restaurant serves great food at above average prices. Follow the tips from the well trained waiters. I did and was very impressed with their choices. Crowd is possibly too well heeled. Pretentious professionals preening and pouting across the rather long communal main-feature dining table. Still, enjoyed the experience. No rush to return. But if I were shouted a meal there I would jump at the chance.
Sensational. This place is one of a kind. I've been there twice so far. The fresh pasta is to die for. The entree's were quite creative and it's obvious they have a focus on the freshest ingredients. I'll be back very soon!
Where food and atmosphere both work. I'd heard a lot of good things about this place so was pleased to get in on a Saturday night (16 January 2010). To cut to the chase, I'd recommend this place highly.
We were welcomed very warmly when we arrived (probably because my friend spoke Italian) and seated at the back of the restaurant in an enclosed deck area, which I as pleased about - I feared the long marble communal table that fills the front could be very noisy (though I did detect foam soundproofing under the tabletop when I was admiring it before being seated!)
Food was very, very good. Swiss mushroom, pea and parmesan starter and a rich rabbit ragu with parpadelle for me, and a huge mozzarella salad starter and ravioli with burnt sage for my friend - all very tasty. All the wine is Italian so we were pleased to get recommended a very drinkable bottle at a good price.
Once seated, I'd say that while the service was efficient overall, it lacked a certain amount of warmth and I think half the reason for that is because there are so many specials (I recall four entrees, four mains and two or three desserts), none of which are on the menu but are on the chalk board and have to be recited (and translated) in mind numbing detail by the waitstaff. This took what seemed like five minutes and let's be honest, whoever remembers anything but the first and last that are explained. This recital/translation routine is a tiresome chore for everyone involved and it's what I think takes the warmth and smiles away from the staff at times. I'd much prefer having the specials just paperclipped onto the menu so I can get on with deciding and the staff with serving.
Atmosphere good (though probably very different between the quiet, candlelit deck area out the back and the communal, overhead-lit front). Someone told me there's an upstairs too but didn't venture up.
Overall, highly recommended.
This is the real deal ... Real Italian! Fabulous food! Great Italian wine list! I have been a few times for dinner ... the service and food was ideal ... Look forward to the next time!
Love this place. Been here loads and it's always amazing!!
As an Italian, I can honestly say this is the best Italian food I have eaten outside Italy. Amazing food and great service. The chocolate dessert done 3 ways is heaven!
Fresh ingredients. Fresh pasta with a twist. Ambience is casual. Quality second to none.
