Review Medusa Greek Taverna - Sydney

Kerry Cashman
Found my new favourite Greek Restaurant. Cannot fault anything. The experience was everything you want when out dining. Atmosphere, fabulous selection on the menu with a good choice of wines. The octopus and eggplant are still fresh in my mind a week after we dined there. Looking forward to going back.

Descent quality Greek food cuisine and reasonable price comparing to its location and ambience. During my visit COVID-19 safety measures were in place and was clean restaurant. Customer service was very mixed, the lady at the reception was lovely and very welcoming however, the male Asian appearance waitress was not so welcoming and nice. Overall is ok restaurant in the middle of the busy city location for a Greek cuisine. Price and Customer service can be improved for sure.

Was here for a team lunch. We opted for the set menu which was $65 each. It had very limited choices for the vegetarians. The main course was brinjal(egg plant) and some veggies chucked into it. The desert was the only saving grace. The ambience of the restaurant is good and the staff are efficient and helpful.

Delicious Greek food in a lovely decored restaurant. I had the Chicken souvlaki with chips, salad and flat bread. It is a huge serving, I couldn't finish it all and I am a big Eater. Just down the road from QVB building.

We found this restaurant from google review and really glad we choose it. The atmosphere is very good, same for the food we had. Definitely will recommend to my friends and family. Will go back and try other dish later.

6 stars if I could - I'm Greek and grew up with Greek food and its perfect - very authentic, food always top quality, atmosphere in spades, the owners walk around and talk to everyone - that kind of place. Been coming here for years so very consistent

Gotta be honest Greek food isn't my favourite cuisine but to an untrained palate these guys/gals do it well. The taramasalata was so good. Breads were fresh and tasty. Lamb melted on your fork. Chicken nicely cooked, with some full egg mayo that completely blew us away Service was good. Attentive but not overwhelming. Didn't oversell. Portions were just the right size for a large group (8 people) with a little left over. Decor doesn't astound but doesn't offend either. Somehow...felt like a Grecian oasis on a city corner. If Greek food is your thing, give it a go

Been to this restaurant a couple of times now. Wonderful atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff. The food is plentiful and tastes great. You can tell the owner has a lot of pride in his restaurant and makes sure everyone has a lovely time there.. Highly recommended

I loved everything about this Greek restaurant. I got the lamb plate and it was delicious. It’s a great spot for groups and the staff are good fun. I will be coming back for a more intimate experience because I couldn’t fault my experience.

I have never tried a Greek food before, so this was my first time eating Greek food. The ambiance was nice and the staff was very friendly. The food was amazing too. The octopus was not really chewy and the lamb shoulder was tender and delicious.

I had a business dinner with a colleague from the UK at Medusa. I couldn’t take too many photos but managed to sneak a couple of my meals!

I had the stuffed zucchini flowers for my entree and the seafood pot for the main. Previous experience at Medusa had prepared me for servings that are generous!

The zucchini flowers were superb. Generous serving with three big zucchini flowers that were cooked to perfection.

The main was a very impressive looking seafood pot with a huge king prawn in the middle. There was a generous mix of other seafood like smaller prawns, fish, mussels and scallops. I was surprised that there wasn’t any squid in it though. It was served with two big pieces of toasted sourdough. It was very good overall if perhaps just a bit too tomato-ey.

Service was very good and we had a great corner table.

I think my overall rating would be a 4.5 but as I can only give whole numbers, I’ve pushed it up to a 5 as I prefer to round up.

Medusa Greek Taverna serves traditional Greek food with Mediterranean influences. The food served provided comfort to the soul with authentic flavours whether you are coming on a date or a large group. We were slightly under-dressed for the restaurant as it was actually nicer and fancier than we thought it would be. Due to our large group at ‘Medusa’, we ordered double of each dish but we ordered too much food (as always). The staff were very accommodating to us even though we were a tame group to begin with and food came out reasonably quickly.

It's amazing how restaurants in Sydney bring out the best in every cuisine. So with Medusa - superlative Greek food here!

Started of with Taramosalata - a really authentic fish roe dip. Thus is not usually available in Greek restaurants in Asia. Served with warm toasted pita, this was great.

Medusa Greek Salad was slso very good with oodles of feta cheese. Haven't seen this much feta served in a salad before. Simple salad but with feta and olive oil, it's divine!

Arni Souvlaki was good. The lamb chunks were crusted with herbs and it came with yummy tzatziki and perfect fries

I don’t generally eat much Greek food, but I was craving it the other day and figured what better place to catch up with a friend than at one of the more popular Greek restaurants in the city.

We were greeted by very friendly staff when we arrived, who made sure our water glasses were kept topped up the whole night. The food itself was just so delicious. I was in love with the Taramosalata that we got as the entree. It was just so packed with flavour and was so addictive! We got the Swordfish, the Meat Mousaka and the Chicken Souvlaki for the mains, and each dish was so delicious and filling.

The only downside is that it is a bit expensive. The mains are all a good size which is nice, but for a full meal you are looking at around $40-$50 per person. However, the experience that we had was fantastic, I can’t wait to go back and try more of their food!
A Guide For Your Appetite
Very Delicious and Relaxing

I visited this restaurant for Valentines Day in Sydney. The service was amazing and the staff were very welcoming.

Our waiter was very very nice and kind. He was easy to talk to and he had a lot of knowledge about the menu. The people sitting behind us had too many questions and I can hear his answers and he was more than happy answer all their questions.

Food... my oh my, it was amazing and delicious.

For Entrée we had Tzatziki dip with warm bread which cost $8. Very decent for an entrée and a restaurant in the city. The entrée was so delicious, we could have had it for mains.

I had the Arni Souvlaki which was for $32. Absolutely delicious. I love my souvlaki's and man this was delicious. Sadly I was dieting though I would have loved to order seconds.

My fiancé had the lamb Mousaka which was for $26. My fiancé loved her meal. I had to taste it offcourse and it was delicious. well cooked and had the right amount of flavours.

To finish of the night we had coffee.

I highly recommend this restaurant for families, romantic dates and even a catch up with friends. This restaurants seems like a family owned restaurant as they are all welcoming just like the Greek culture.

Highly Recommended. Will visit again and again

Amazing food, have been here twice. Loved the food and it's desserts. Good decor, pretty easy to spot/ find. It's usually full, so you'll have to make an appointment. Worth a try.

Compliments to Bill the chef...went here with a group of six for Saturday night dinner and would have to say that every dish was superb! Starters included the fava, haloumi but the standouts were the zucchini flowers and prawn saganaki! The rocket salad was also perfectly dressed. My main was the baby snapper...sublime simplicity. Others had, which I tried a little and loved was the veal medallions, beef stifatho, wrapped John Dory and the seafood spaghetti looked enormous. We also shared the house specialty of slow cooked lamb with peas and watercress dressing which was also fantastic. My only issue was we didn’t leave any room for dessert, but that’s okay, we’ll be definitely back for that!

Can't go wrong with the food here, pita and dips are heavenly and portion sizes are generous. Service is good and conveniently located in the heart of the CBD. Their restaurant Medusa is also delicious!

Nice Greek food and a nice restaurant. I went in with high expectations and was unfortunately underwhelmed. Food was good and the prices quite reasonable. Would I return? Jury’s still out on that one.

Greek food is one of my personal favorite cuisines, so imagine my excitement when i was about to start dining in Medusa! Place looks great and service was decent. The food choices on the menu got me all drooling.
We got the pita bread and was happy with it.
The calamari arrived and was too soggy and oily.
The greek salad arrived and my my - this is the saltiest food I've ever tasted. I stopped eating it and our Yemista arrived. And oh my, it was as salty and the potatoes too. We were glad one of our orders didn't get recorded (i think the waiter forgot about it), so our tongues are spared from more salt torture.
I'm disappointed :( oh well, time to look for other greek taverns that will satisfy my cravings!
If you were looking for the finest Greek restaurant in Sydney, look no further than Medusa Greek Taverna. Named after the mythical Greek monster, the taverna was brightly decorated with murals of the monster (ouch!) and an inviting glass counter.

One of the highlights of the taverna must be the freshly prepared pita and fish roe dips. The creamy and appetizing dips are perfect complements of the pita bread. While fine dining restaurants do occasionally get lazy and serves me cold and hard sourdoughs, the taverna serves some amazing toasted or warmed bread/pita.

The moussaka is also delicious. The potato-layered dish includes ground meat and a top layer of milk-based sauce thickened with egg. The ground meat is a little dry and coarse but that did not spoil the flavour and texture of the dish.
Nancy
I changed my booking around a few times and Medusa were very accommodating which I really appreciate! My friend and I ordered the moussaka. I had only ever had vegetarian moussaka so I was keen to see what a meat one tasted like. I was a bit disappointed actually. The layer of meat was far too thick. I felt like I was just eating chunks of meat for most of the meal and it could have used a bit more sauce. It was fine for the first few mouthfuls but about halfway in, it got a bit much. My friend ordered 2 entrees - the garithes sagnaki (I tasted the bread of this and it was amazing) and the Tilithi Fetta Me Meli. She was happy with both of her dishes. Not a bad experience but I definitely did expect better.

Medusa hits the nail on the head. The food was outstanding, particularly the tilihti fetta me meli and vegetable moussaka. Service and ambience were pretty good, no complaints. But the food was definitely the star of the night. Every dish was flavoured perfectly which didn't overpower each other and hit your tongue in waves. Our tastebuds had the time of their lives! Prices are very, very reasonable considering the quality and location. My dining companion and I left feeling satisfied and can't wait to return to this little gem. One thing to add -- they give you an extra set of cutlery with every dish served. A little unnecessary in our opinion but hardly a 'fault'.
Richard
Great Food served quickly and without fuss. The wines sourced from Greece are wonderful but the local beer list is quite sad and does little yo support the food.. The pricing and portions are well balanced. I will be back and soon.

Excellent welcoming

Excellent staff recommendation

Big menu with variety of foods

Very friendly staff and good Greek food

Would recommend the Mezze plate and the Lamb shoulder .
FoodLuva
Went here with a client for lunch today. Very good old school service with a smile.
To start the mezze platter is excellent, everything on the plate sung, couldn't fault it.
For the main, had the medusa slow cooked lamb shoulder with lemon potatoes and peas. The meat was melt in your mouth good, falling off the bone, and included some backstrap as a bonus. However the sauce was not what I excepted, it was light, watery and not very rich at all - wasn't bad just could have been so much better. Everything else in the dish was delicious.
Nice cosy restaurant with a good atmosphere, good for both business lunch or a date.

In my top 3 Greek places to eat hands down !, may not come with a big chef beating his drums but this place sure does deliver the goods

Foods wonderfully presented, service is fantastic and pricing is reasonable for what you get
Boccadellaveritas
One of my go to restaurants in Sydney when I am missing Melbourne Greek food. The lemon lamb shoulder is outstanding and the grilled octopus is always fresh and tasty
Paul Mandalidis
We have been going to this restaurant a couple of times s year since it opened ... Very good Greek food and the service has always been excellent ... The servings are very generous .... Highly recommended ... Peter the owner does a great job...
Iain Holt
Good food and service, tad more than the $70 (unless just mains) per person around the $80 to $90 mark but definitely worth the money!!
I would definitely recommend the lamb shoulder for the $34.

4 of us dined here Saturday night and enjoyed the best Greek we could all remember. This is a family run business and it shows in the pride of service, and food like it was their home kitchen. The lamb just melted in our mouths and the desserts were amazing.
Great little find in the CBD of Sydney.
Yummymcyummerson
Amazing lamb!!! The moussaka is also the best I've tasted. The service is not great but the food more than makes up for it. The banquet menu is great value for money. $40 each and you definitely can't move by the end of it!

Time flies in Sydney and by 8pm, the three of us were wondering where to go for dinner. We opted for Medusa and went down there, greeted and shown to a table for four. For Entree, we ordered Kefalotyri Saganaki (Panfried Greek Cheese that taste delicious with a drizzle of lemon, olive oil and slices of fresh Tomatoes) and Octapodi Tis Skaras (BBQ Octopus with roasted peppers and Olives salsa - my favorite!). Last night it was not too crowded, perhaps due to our late entry. However, the waiter was quick, polite and prompt. Our mains arrived not long after my friend finished his saganaki. I ordered Exohiko Arni, which was one of the four best mains on the menu. It was three chunks of parcels made of medium/rare lamb backstrap, cheese, mushroom, Tomato wrapped in insanely thin filo pastry sat in a pool of liquori-induced-brown sauce with grilled olives and figs. It was a very good and fullfilling dish indeed. Last night I noticed the lamb was cooked towards medium than medium rare. Backlava was also nice, it was not too sweet and if I was not too full, I would have had the backlava by myself lol. Will definitely return to try the other dishes. Nice and Decent establishment. The atmosphere was friendly and comfortable. Highly recommend this venue for Overseas guest or Any Sydneysider who wants to step into the Greek Side.
Ilovefooood
Great Greek food in my opinion with generous servings. We were three girls and shared the mezze plate, souvlaki and chicken (on the special menu). We couldn't get through it all. It also costed less than $100 which I thought was good value for the quality of food. We didn't order wine.

Service was also good - waiter topped up our water constantly. Food came in courses and very slowly which I preferred given the huge amount of food.

Only issue was that food was on the salty side, especially the chicken. I drank a lot of water. If you don't like salty things - don't come to the restaurant.

I went for dinner and there were only a couple of people early on Tuesday evening at around 6 PM. They delivered the meal of a man then a woman both who came in sepately after me. Another person whose meal was served at the time I arrived finished their meal in between. After waiting more than half an hour for a souvlaki I had to leave . Very disappointing.

I love the Arni Sto Fourno (lamb with lemon and potatoes). This dish is full of flavour, salty and delicious. I love having it every few months when I get a craving for a lamb fix. It always hits the spot. Expensive but worth the money.
Katie
Great food and service, we will definitely be back. We had the lamb backstrap and seafood pasta both were delicious. Custard tart for desert was also great. Servings were very big so good for sharing.
Andreea Blazi
Most delicious food I had in a very long time.
Service was good, professional and quick.
Recommendations from the waiter as well.
Definitely will dine again at Medusa.
Brooke Fraser
The biggest let down was the lack of ambience and terrible service. Once you got past that the food was ok... If not a little bland. However I felt like a sardine packed into a room as the seats were so close together.
Danoz Direlect
Absolutely fantastic. Went there for a birthday, amazing service, portions were HUGE 👌 incredible food, straight upfront Greek waiters with no BS. Complementary Ouzo for our party after the food. Well done, expensive but worth every penny
The Truth Hurts
Very poor from the point of reservation to entree to main to getting the check! You want good Greek food go to Georges King Street Wharf! Sad for them as I love good Greek and basically live just above them.
Sandy Dey
Nice location, decent decor, lively place, not pricey and good service. But the best part - excellent food! We had standard stuff like saganaki, mousaka and for dessert - galactobouriko. Very tasty. Had to convey my compliments to the chef.
Food By La
Highly recommended. Greek food is such a favourite of mine! The standouts were the Dolmades and Bougatsa. We created our own meze for a selection of gluten free dishes to share. The service was fun, knowledgeable, efficient, and and they even surprised us with a special birthday sparkler !
Kiki
This was the BEST dish of the meal. The swordfish just melts in your mouth.. MELTS! If you go to Medusa… promise me you will order this dish… It literally rocked my world!
Dolly
The tzatziki dip is one of the best we have tried with a rich acidity in the yoghurt and fresh parsley with a brilliant strong smell. We loved it so much that Dolly asked for a second plate of it! The Halloumi was another highlight with strong

I have heard great things about Medusa - some claims that it is the best Greek restaurant in Sydney.
I Don't Like Cooking
Medusa is an authentic Greek restaurant in Sydney’s CBD. It boasts everything a good Greek restaurant should: good service; nice wine list; food like you eat in Greece; and huge portions. The first time I ate at Medusa was for a quick lunch. I was seated promptly and the order was taken within minutes. The food began arriving not long after that and it was excellent. The waiter told me I’d ordered too much and he was right. There was calamari (tender), horiatiki salad (authentic), pita (soft and tender) and spanakopita (light and tasty with a generous sized serve). I took my partner and a colleague the on the following evening. This time we also had the prawn saganaki which was just like the one we ate by a bay on the Peloponnese Peninsula. It’s a shame I found a fault with Medusa to spoil a near-perfect score. There is only one bathroom in the whole restaurant for men and women to share. Having to queue while ones food is cooling spoils the experience. Food 9/10 Am

For lunch we went to Merrylands for some Lebanese food and Al-Arzah. One of the guys in my team at work had recommended it, so a bunch of us headed over. My favourite option at any Lebanese place is always the mixed grill. A delicious mix of smokey kebabs

Who knew such a great Greek restaurant could be found in the heart of Sydney CBD? Last week, Little J and I dined at Medusa Greek Taverna. It's in a great location (Allianz building), just a short walk from the QVB. From the outside it looks very sleek, s

Didnt even get a chance to speak. I organise a dinner club for a group of friends once a month. I contacted the restaurant and was put through to Peter. Before I could even finish my introduction to him and what it was I was enquiring about he cut me short and said "we don't do that" and hung up the phone. I was asking if he did drink packages at the restaurant with the set menu....his attitude just cost him a dinner reservation for 12 - 16 people that would have made him a tidy little profit.....oh well, business must be good. I'll give our business to another Greek Restuarant.....Sydney has plenty to chose from !
Horchata
Food was delicious and the waiter, Michael, was lovely. Didn't appreciate the attitude of the owner and his unnecessary comments.

Spectacular....... Faultless in every way.. As a highly critical person I find myself in a very unusual position. I confess that I cannot find a single thing to fault with Medusa. The service was outstanding (thanks to a lovely gent named Paul) and the food was beyond words and comprehension thanks to a food genius (Gregor you are exceptional). Dolmades and Spanikopita that exceed all expectation, suckling pig with condiments that were beyond fabulous, lamb shoulder that fell off the bone and to top it off the dessert, so aptly named "Medusa" left me in awe. The ambience was wonderful and I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. No wonder it has such a reputation, it is well earnt and very much deserved.

THERE IS NO SHARING A Medusa!. I've been here 9 times so far.

The menu is limited, but it is amazing, so I can see why.
I've had the chicken and it is amazing, the lamb shoulder, the lamb in pastry, the swordfish, the stuffed vegetables, the thing on the metal stick. It's all amazing.

Friendly staff. Who remember us and give us a greeting every time we visit.

Medusa is the best desert, I took some friends here once and the waiter suggested the shared dessert plate.
(mind you i've already had the medusa and I wanted 4 of them, but he kept pressuring me to get the shared plate)
NO NO NO NO NO!!!!
One dose not simply share a Medusa!

The other deserts are nice but are lacking in comparison, just get the Medusa, DON'T ARGUE WITH ME, JUST GET THE MEDUSA! and enough per person on the table, so there is no desert envy. I swear this stuff is Ambrosia! (the food of the gods)

So With all fabulous reviews, I shall list my bad experiances. Getting a desert plate when we all wanted medusa's. That turned out horrible.

The guy who walked in on me in the bathroom. THERE IS ONLY 1 TOILET and 1 $@%! kept jiggling the door while I was on the loo until it opened, no apology's either, just stared at me and closed the door.

And the time, our table number got mixed with the group next to us of rowdy bogan women, so that took a while to fix up.

Also if you've never had Traditional Greek Coffee, becareful there are coffee grindings at the bottom of it. so you only sip it until you reach near the bottom, then stop, I wish someone told me that the first time.

Hope it helps.

Greek greatness. This is one of my "go to" spots in Sydney. Service and vibe is authentic while they still manage to add some modern twists to traditional greek meals. Key here is to share all meals. The mains are heavy and really - greek food is designed to be shared. Never fail dishes for me include:

- Tilihti Fetta Me Meli (beautiful feta filo pastry drizzled with honey)
- Garithes Saganaki (hint of ouzo in here and served with delish crusty bread)
- Arni sto Fourno (so flavoursome and tender)
- Mousaka (I could eat this daily)
- "Medusa" dessert = heaven

I can never go without some tamara to start too. Can't wait for my next visit.
In Pursuit Of The YUUUMMM
DO NOT BOTHER! Food is a huge disappointment. From the entree of canned vine leaves, the main of mutton disguised as lamb tight through to dessert of ice-cream drenched in ouzo served with grapes and almonds - strangest concoction I have ever tried.
Reynon
Wonderful. Visited Sydney on business last week and was lucky enough to be staying about 200 yards from Medusa - ate there twice (both as walk-in after work) on both occasions the service and attentiveness was exemplary. However, the best service in the world often masks poor food - I can only say in this case that the food was right up there with the best I have experienced in my many years of travelling - I cannot reccomend Medusa highly enough, and cant wait for my next trip
Prince Of Perth
Royal Seal of Approval. The best Greek restaurant in Australia. Possibly the best lamb I have ever tasted. An experience and value for money. Euxaristo!
Donnamaxwell1891
Wonderful Lunch. We searched out Medusa for lunch after finding it online. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. We love greek food and were so impressed we are going back for dinner in a couple of days. We hope to have room for the bougatsa!
Hung Dong Long
Ok food, good sized servings and not bad value but rushed impersonal and formulaic service ruined it for me
Thomotravel
Great Greek!. While apparently well-known to locals, as visitors to Sydney we were week-night walk-ins following Urbanspooner reviews. The place was booked out but a table was hastily prepared & 2 hours later 4 of us left raving about this gem of a restaurant. Food was fabulous, with slow-cooked lamb shoulder & suckling pig big hits with everyone. The great food was matched by excellent & attentive service and our night at the Medusa was a very welcome & unexpected highlight of our trip to Sydney. We will be back next visit & highly recommend it for anyone looking for good honest Greek fare at reasonable prices.
Nigella Is A Hack
Gorging gorgons.. For a restaurant in the guts of the CBD this place is very reasonably priced. The service is prompt and friendly, the atmosphere lively and the decor airy and pleasant. Lively can mean 'noisy' but when a lot of people are all in one place and enjoying themselves this is not unusual. I don't eat Greek very often so I am not an authority but it was all fresh, tasty and well, 'honest' I suppose is the best way of describing it. Imagine it has all been cooked by your best friend's Greek mum. The halluomi, sheep's curd, Greek sausage... it's all stunning. I recommend the swordfish for mains personally, I notice from one other review they are apparently sited close to a fish-market, when I was last there they were out of fish, so it must be popular. A good restaurant is usually a busy one, I've been there on a Tuesday and Wednesday night (not consecutively) and a Saturday night and it has been as rammed. Book early, but it shouldn't take you 10 years to get through the gates.

Absolutely fabulous, best restaurant in Sydney
Spollydolly
Attentive staff, great food, very filling. Stand out choices from our selection...stuffed zucchini flowers, moussaka and Medusa strawberries (awesome)

GREAT FOOD, BETTER SERVICE!. Walking in we didn't have a booking but the friendly staff quickly accommodated us. We order entrées which was beautiful and both order lamb for our mains! The lamb was melt in your mouth wonderful! The waiter offered GREAT service, very attentive and kept filling up our water glasses. We loved the ending touch of offering some greek style turkish delight! simply lovely we are so sad we live in melbourne and won't be returning soon but we HIGHLY reccomend!!

Best Food and Value for Money. Forget Diethnes and The Athenian and Xanthi.
Medusa Greek Taverna has the best Greek food (and value for money) in the city. Great and prompt service. Wait staff is always on the lookout to provide service. May even be a little over zealous, but it's better to be this way than to be sloppy.

The chef is so good and underrated in the Sydney food scene. He ought to write his own cookbooks.

Diner Review 9th Jan 2013. Melitzanosalata and Fava Santorinis Dips (both eggplant with pita bread)- very good. BBQ octopus, tender and good too but the mains, Medusa's Arni sto Fourno (slow cooked lamb shoulder) and Exohiko Arni (lamb backstrap) were that salty we could'nt eat them. The waiter said that they rub the meat in rock salt before cooking-must of used a whole bag as we still add and cook with salt at home. Was let down as read good reports on this restaurant and have been to Greece so knew what to expect.
Tash8888
Delicious food, friendly and prompt service, reasonable prices, generous portion sizes. Highly recommended. Try the octopus entree, it's delicious!
Jane
Wonderful food and excellent service . We will be back next time we are in Sydney Thanks xxx

Yum! Really good Greek food. Nice atmosphere, friendly service with attention to detail. Very large portions. It would be nice to go with a group so more items could be sampled. My husband and I really enjoyed our evening.

Happy harpy with Medusa food. Went fordiiner here on Satuday night in mid August with husband and 2 children. The staff fitted us in and got us an inside tabel on a cool rainy night. The entrees of dips & saganaki, none left totally devoured esp the taramasalata hmmmmm. Mains came, HUGE serves totally delicious. Had the Zucchini flowers( usu entree) for main, lamb souvlaki and lamb cutlets. All good. Drinks came when ordered. Good staff attenttive and responsive. Was a busy night and we had a great time. Recommend. No tas expensvie as one would expect being in Sydney CBD with views of Darling Harbour fireworks :)

Wow. Food was amazing. Try the lamb wrapped in pastry with figs.
The Hungry Runner
Solid. I'm probably not doing the experience justice there, nor enticing you to enter... I liked the place, but not enough to put it as a favourite. A mate and I dined here after work. They had a nice selection of wines (Bowen Estate Shiraz!), the food was good (but not great), very nice haloumi and pretty generous salmon steak, fairly attentive/ personal service, but overall it just didn't pump my tyres. I'd go back, but I've ticked that box so probably best to try somewhere else. You won't be disappointed, but equally you won't be raving. Nuff said, think you get my point.
Janet
Delicious food, particularly the Tilihti Fetta me Mmeli entree - sweet yet savory with a delicious honey sauce! The atmosphere was nice, we sat on the balcony outside, and the waitstaff were attentive and great! The entire meal with entrees, salads and two mains was under $100! Cheap and delicious.
Pat
A bit disappointed. I ordered the Macaronia tis Mykonou ($29.50)
The pasta was cooked perfect, the sauce was wonderful, the scallops were cooked exact, but the shrimp was fishy tasting and rubbery, I did not finish the shrimp. For a restaurant so close to the fish market I expect better quality shrimp. The service was very good. The place had a very busy business lunch crowd.
Joliem
Mmmmm....more please!. Juicy tender lamb, flame grilled calamari, a saucy prawn dish that's not to be missed and really yummy desserts. Oh, and don't forget the haloumi - addictive! What's not to love about Medusa? Perfect for any occassion, just make sure you're hungry! This was recommended by a friend who'd been on a business dinner while in Sydney, we took our three kids along and they enjoyed it as much as we did. Will definitely return next time I'm in Sydney.

Greek in the City. The Crowd opted for a midweek meal in the city. Parking was easy with lots of stations nearby. In the restaurant we were transported to the Aegean with blue and white colours predominating. Menu was full of tasty treats and no one in the Crowd was disappointed. Mezze Plate satisfied everyone. Stuffed calamari with pine nuts and tomato sauce was finger lickin, good. Souvlaki, lamb cutlets and fish all cooked to perfection.Galaktobouriko. Ahhhh. A perfect end to an enjoyable Greek meal that was reasonably priced. And not a rhubarb stem in sight!!!
Hawkesbury
Fantastic restaurant. A must.. This is a must for lovers of Greek food. Everything we had was delicious. I will definitely be back...soon.

Restaurant Medusa Greek Taverna. 8/10 2 Market St Sydney Of course i had to try greek food in Sydney. Miss Santorini already! :P Well to conclude, we are def coming back. The best was taramosalata dip and the pita bread!! ive never seen my husband finish his share of bread, but he did. that was how good the dip and pitacombo was. better than the restaurants we went to in greece actually! We also had the signature slow cooked lamb. Really really tender inside, with a salty crispy outside to it. yummy! but that two dishes already made us so full, that when the moussaka came we could only eat half of that. and i dont think we are a moussaka fan... its just too heavy for us. my recommendation is, 1 taramosalata and pita bread ( dont get extra serving cuz youll be so stuffed!) 2 salad or appetiser. recommendimg haloumi ;P am trying that next time! 3 one main to share I think this would be the best serving size for two ppl and so we head home now to our adorable pebbles, our pekingese dog... we try to have a date night once every week! but were so fast at eating we usually finish dinner in half an hour!

Wonderful but loud. Call me a whinger but it was so loud I could hardly talk to my girlfriend without yelling whilst sitting at a table for two face to face . Some regulars seem to be talking as though they were deaf , a table of 10 or so . Food was awesome service was very decent . wine was priced appropriately which is a first for me in the city . Maybe thats why our seated neighbours were so loud . Still at the end of the night I was very happy with our food and the loundness of other dinners did create a rather fun fillled if not boisterous night and the desert was devine. I have not eaten a desert for many years as i have a savoury tooth but the pear and gelato was delicious. Thank you to the staff and cheff not the best food ever but very very tasty , combined with good service and a feisty atmosphere a wonderful night in all , thanks , and i will be back , Dan Frost .
