I had the slow-cooked lamb for dinner and it’s delicious. Excellent selection of wine by glass. Solo diner would be happy to come here. Friendly staff. Recommended.
Had anniversary dinner. Food was delicious. Chef was flexible. Was offered free dessert for occasion. Got a call next day offering us a refund as we had a special discount through dimmi and forgot about it. Thumbs up.
Amazing food and Beautiful atmosphere. Risotto is the best I have ever had 👌🏼
Excellent ambience, food was equally amazing specially school prawn and roasted quail. Matteo was awesome with his service and special shout out to Mr. Bartender who tweaked his cocktail for our liking. Definitely coming back.
Highly recommended - delicious food, excellent service and beautiful setting.
It’s that time of the year again when the Sydney waterfront promenades fill up with pedestrians out on all nights of the week (despite the chill) to enjoy the spectacular visual feast that is the Vivid light festival. Considering its well-positioned location right in the heart of The Rocks (especially with the stunning views of the Opera House from their Presidential Suite!), it’s no surprise that the Four Seasons Hotel is offering a special dining experience during Vivid (running from 24 May 2019 until 15 June 2019) at its in-house restaurant Mode Kitchen & Bar called the Chroma Dinner.
My Chroma pop experience at Mode Kitchen left me feeling completely and colourfully inspired. Available only during the Vivid festival 2019, you can book a sensory dining experience called Chroma dinner. Expect experimental flavours in synthesis of coloured light shows, aromatics, and “cocktails.”
The City of lights is upon us and there was so much to explore and it will take days to get through everything! The highlgiht of the evening was definitely the Chroma Dinner at Four Season's Mode Bar & Kitchen. A multi sensory dining experience where menus presented before each course are scented following the presentation of bright bold and inventive dishes that are consumed with accompanying light projections, eerie and whimsical soundscapes!
With Vivid Sydney 2019 fast approaching, it is an exciting time of the year to be in Sydney. This gave us great pleasure to be a part of the launch of the Four Seasons Hotel Chroma Dinner Premiere. The Four Seasons are getting into the Vivid festive spirit by providing a unique culinary experience at their Mode Kitchen & Bar. The Chroma dinner includes a four course meal, with each dish designed to awaken the senses, and to take you on a culinary journey of colour, scent, sound and light. Inspired by the colours red, blue, green, they have been created to enhance the dining experience.
Mode Kitchen & Bar is contemporary Australian cuisine made with the freshest produce. The setting is warm and welcoming as are the staff. It’s good quality food. Given it’s location, it’s a great spot for entertaining interstate clients. #modekitchen
Very good service! The oysters were absolutely delicious! We were happy with every dish as well as ambience. It’s always a nice surprise to come across such a lovely dining experience within a hotel. Staff was very attentive and helpful.
Thank you mode for your hospitality. Highlights were the Mr Grey cocktail and rosemary potato side dish - best potatoes I’ve ever had! Personally I think the kingfish lacked flavour... the macadamia addition was quite nice and gave the dish texture. Prawns didn’t come out of its shell easily... I think they were over cooked and the tbone was average!!! Service was lovely...
Had a lovely dinner at Mode recently. My boyfriend and I were very curious about their truffle tasting menu and decided to indulge in the 3-course meal. And let me tell you, they did not disappoint! All the dishes generously contained truffles and tasted amazing! We particularly enjoyed the baked Camembert and the truffle risotto. Their truffle espresso martini was also very delicious. Highly recommended.
Wow! What can I say but the food is absolutely fantastic here?!
We were lucky enough to get in and try out their truffle menu before they take it away and it is definitely one you'll be begging them to bring back.
They definitely don't skimp out on the truffles - especially when it comes to the dessert!
Such an amazing experience and the service was really good so highly recommend this place.
In celebration of truffle season, Mode Kitchen & Bar have launched the ‘Festival of Truffle’, an event to showcase stunning, fresh Australian truffles from 19 June until mid-August.
Led by head chef Francesco Mannelli (ex Balla, Est. and Bistrode CBD), diners can expect simple, sophisticated dishes, which star the freshest seasonal produce on offer. Current situation? Truffles! Expect five star, friendly service, beautifully executed dishes and a whole lotta fungus…the good kind!
First up, the first of two choices for entree; seared scallops with celeriac, hazelnuts & black truffle ($32). The scallops are
We had a very good lunch at Mode. The service was exceptional, with complex dietary requirements handled with aplomb. The decor is great and the food was very good. It's at the pricier end, but you don't feel short-changed by the servings of either the food or the wine.
My parents treated me to a dinner here to celebrate my 22nd birthday. I felt very welcomed and accommodated to by the staff there. The food was of a very high quality & the staff really knew what they were talking about. I am not sure why the rating on here is not reflective of the other reviews. I would recommend.
Instantly felt welcomed at Mode Kitchen & Bar with their amazing team on hand and the elegant decor. The meal itself was exquisite with the dessert, Mille-feuille, wild berries & chantilly, being my favourite dish of the evening as well, the detail, atmosphere and service was perfect!
Had lunch here today. Love the new look of the dining room. Very cozy and fun. Tried most of the appetizers as wanted to sample as many as I can. They were all delice. Had the mango meringue desert which was to die for. Not too sweet but nice and airy. Overall, great experience, food and service, et al. Looking forward to come back again soon.
The food and atmosphere at Mode is outstanding.I loved everything about it - the cocktails, the service and the food - I highly recommend this restaurant
Beautiful designed new restaurant with a menu well thought out. Service was very attentive even when sharing dishes. Thank you for an amazing evening.
Relaxed, stylish, quietly elegant environment, exemplary attention to detail and service. The food - the menu was on mark, taste and presentation to match with an excellent wine and beverage choice. I will definitely be going back.
We had our birthday dinner there, the food is good, king prawn main was so fresh and good
Good service as well. Just a bit pricey but it’s fine dinning.
Food at Mode was sensational, I had the lamb which was tender and packed with flavor. The Lemon tart was a great dessert as well. Great option for lunch if you are looking for somewhere discreet in the city or if you are staying at the Four Seasons

With more than a decade of restaurant reviewing under my belt, I’ve travelled through a few restaurant changes at the Four Seasons Hotel Sydney. Their last two incarnations - The Woods by Hamish Ingham, and Pei Modern by Mark Best – both traversed the ‘celebrity chef’ route. With each of them lasting two years, it’s not surprising that Mode Kitchen & Bar represents a return to what the bulk of hotel guests want from an upmarket hotel restaurant. The new restaurant is encased within curved art deco inspired frosted glass surrounds. While it looks a bit strange from the hotel lobby, it creates intimacy inside what is a vast airspace.Walking along the gleaming brass bar, you’ll find a series of spaces that allow you to sink into comfortable chairs or plush banquettes. Designers Lucchetti Krelle have captured the art deco era in the colours and materials, from circular pendant lights hanging from brass railings, to marble, leather and velvet finishes. While the expansive restaurant and bar seats two hundred guests, cleverly, from my table, I was only able to see about thirty. While the extensive wine list is impressive, its delivery, not so much. Staff do not lack enthusiasm or the willingness to assist, but more is required...
So, the word is out. The Mode Kitchen & Bar is Sydney's newest restaurant in town. Located at the Four Seasons Hotel, it is just a stroll from Circular Quay.
From a designer's point of view, I'm so in love with the interior of Mode Kitchen & Bar. It's a little sci-fi, a little art deco mixed with ultra chic marble and sage suede for furnishing. It's all just perfect!
Now, let's talk about the delicious cuisines at Mode Kitchen & Bar. For bites, we had to try the Salt & Pepper School Prawns and Holy Goat "La Luna" & truffle honey. Oh my, the school prawns bites was so good I was thinking of having seconds!
For mains, we had the Grilled King Prawns and Chef's Coorong Angus T-bone 1kg 21-day Aged (now that's a mouthful to say), with a side of Hand Cut Crispy Rosemary Potatoes.
The King Prawns was grilled with burnt butter and served with an array of delicate winter leaves. The prawns were well cooked, tender and juicy, as the shell comes off neatly. Yum!
The Head Chef of Mode Kitchen & Bar, Francesco Mannelli's Coorong Angus T-bone is not only aged for 21 days, the prime steak also takes 30 minutes to prepare. We must say, it is worth the wait.
Overall, a wonderful fine dining experience at Four Seasons Hotel Sydney to take that special someone. The staff are friendly and helpful, we felt welcomed at Mode Kitchen & Bar. We can't wait to come back for the Salt & Pepper School Prawns (obsessed!).

Lovely ambience & service. Truffle risotto is a MUST try. Loved the dessert too- reminded me of the Bennelong Chocolate cake (at a more affordable price) - the lamb melted in my mouth too. Give this place a go if you're looking for a place to dine at on a Friday or Saturday evening.
We visited for a family celebration for the buffet breakfast. We weren’t staying at the hotel so glad we were welcomed. There was so much on offer from middle eastern, Asian, English breakfast, lots of pastries and cakes, and much more. Also eggs and omelettes to order and barista coffee. Service was excellent, as you would expect for a 5 star hotel. Price was $50 for adults and $25 for kids which I thought was reasonable given the quality and variety. Interior is spacious and very classy. Would definitely come again.
I was staying at Four Seasons during
Vivid festival.
We had an amazing dinner at Mode Kitchen!
Everything including the service was outstanding.
Frozen Pavlova wow!
As a vegetarian I was very pleased with so many options to pick from.
Definitely one of my favorite places to visit.
Thank you to Jasper who made our night so special.

I went for breakfast on Monday the 24th at 8am.
The food was good as expected from a 5 star hotel.
The host and our section waitress was exceptional! I think her name was Jasmine? She was so attentive and professional. She constantly refiled our glasses, checked if everything was okay and cleared the plates really fast. She has a lovely attitude.
Amazing restaurant with a sophisticated feel. Staff were really friendly! Thank you for making my partner’s birthday memorable. Food was great, simple menu. Would definitely come back for the experience.
The food was fun to eat, we mostly picked from the entree and starters and had the duck as a main. The duck was a bit chewy but it turns out I didn't cut with the grain. Once cutting with the grain, the duck wasn't as chewy.
The atmosphere was not spectacular but that's okay.
The highlight of the night was the desert : Frozen green Pavlova, pear, green apple, cucumber & dill $22. It had a theatrical entrance and was quite refreshing!
The Iceberg had a tasty dressing.
The Zucchini flowers, wood roasted, buffalo ricotta & truffle, fresh peas had welcoming taste and texture.
Food is fresh and refreshing, no overbearing taste for any we ordered.
The lobsters of spaghetti are bite-size and flavourful, spaghetti is just the right consistency.
My favourite of these is the Glacier 51 tooth fish - Crispy skin, preserved fat under-layer and juicy flesh all in one bite!
Would highly recommend ~
Lovely food and the staff are incredible. Thank you to Yvonne who served us for lunch and breakfast. If you want a fresh coffee and poached eggs in minutes this is the place to go. Is a bit on the expensive side but it is a five star hotel so you expect that going in. Thank you.
