Review Quay Restaurant - Sydney

Came here for a special anniversary lunch on a Saturday. Location and views are great. Food is good with interesting and unique combinations. The courses are a bit on the small side and leave you wanting more. The whole set menu lunch of $260 pp took about 3.5 hrs. The did have a few secret courses which were not on the menu which was a nice touch. We were full at the end but I would of preferred slightly larger dishes. We enjoyed our experience and the staff and service was great, however I don't think it is worth the money. A one off experience for us.

Oh my goodness, if you want a fantastic vegan fine dining experience then Quay is it. It shouldn't be hard to showcase vegetables and Peter Gilmore shows it isn't. Every dish was wonderful but there were a few standouts. The vegetable caviar was amazing. The turnips with broth were ethereal. The white coral dessert was absolutely yummy, I almost felt I needed to check it was the vegan version because it was so creamy. Service was impeccable of course and the staff seem to glide everywhere. We can't wait to revisit.

Eating at Quay was not only one of the best culinary experiences of my life, it was one of the best experiences period. I brought my Dad here as a birthday gift as it has been a bucket list item for him for many years. He absolutely loved it and it was such a special day for him. Each dish was impeccable and absolutely mouth watering. The service was absolutely fantastic as well. We also had the wine pairing with each course which I recommend as well. It was the epitome of fine dining and luxury. We also purchased one of Peter Gilmore's books at the end. Quay is worth every cent, I can't wait to have this experience again one day.

Beautiful food, amazing service, great wine pairing options and beautiful interior. Don't forget the most iconic view! Front staffs were perfect. I thought It's fair to taken a few stars away from this service as the chef was too lazy to think about a better replacement for the pickelet dish than a sourdough and olive oil. If I want sourdough and high quality olive oil for a meal, I would buy if from high end olive oil merchant and one very talented baker I know near by. Not Quay. It was one of the most underwhelming fine dining dish I have ever had.

A true culinary experience with a even better view! Menu is sophisticated and the service is on point, your plates will touch the table at the same time. Although silver service the staff are light hearted and make the experience much more enjoyable. Ofcourse this comes at a cost but we'll worth it

What a wonderful experience, my partner and I were out celebrating a big finished project and the food exceeded my expectations. The service was very attentive, and our waiter was not only knowledgeable but very approachable and friendly. Despite the steep price, you absolutely get what you pay for and we are looking forward to coming back again ❤️

Simply stellar and a must visit. 100% Worth the hype. Located right above the Overseas Passenger Terminal, Quay restaurant lives up to its reputation as one of the best restaurants in Sydney. I worked with Nadine and Julia for a surprise proposal lunch over the past 6 months. The Fink and Quay Team were very collaborative and endeavoured to make the proposal a great success right down to the tiny details such as where my partner would be sitting and the timing of each course. The team went above and beyond to cater for us including a temperance pairing and allowing our florist to enter beforehand. On the big day, everything was as I imagined and the service team did a spectacular job in making us comfortable. Special shout-out to Steven (sommelier) and Michiko (manager) who were extremely attentive. We were situated in the Private Dining Room where we had sweeping and unobstructed views of the Sydney Opera House. I would however note that on occasion, cruise ships do dock at the Terminal so would be good to check beforehand. We had the 6 course menu with a few additional extras. Highlights included: Murray cod, bone marrow noodles, scallop entrees and the crumpets with caviar. Although each dish was a small portion, we were very full by the end of the lunch. Everything was delicious. A day to remember forever ! Thank you!

The eel is a world class dish, the rest are good but some distance to world leaders for fine dinning in terms of presentation and creativity. Quality of wine selected for food matching need significant improvement. Still, worth paid for what you get, this place is definitely within top 5 for Australia.
