If you are looking for a tasty healthy breakfast this is the dpot. Great menu choices. Great coffee. And a sunshine terrace. The sandwich was particularly good. Go find this little taste of lovliness.
I’m just here to rate the place and the coffee. I did not eat their food. I had coffee and it was very good. The place, which is located in The Rocks, is so beautiful and inviting. Highly recommended.
This is a pretty nice cafe/restaurant for coffee and food at a fairly good price given its location. I had the spice lamb quesadillas which were pretty tasty and the coffee was good too. There’s also plenty of seating indoors and outdoors and the service was quick and friendly.
It is a gem in the middle of the Rocks market, they use fresh ingredients and most importantly environmentally friendly straw from paper (how cool is that). I have roast mushroom and ice coffe, they’re very tasty. Friendly and quick service too.
Had a great time here, Foursquare suggested, food is really good and service was excellent, its a bit hard to find can call it a hidden gem, Holiday Express Old Sidney will lead you here easily, I had some Riverina farm land poached eggs with avocado and sour dough, spicy baked beans, and some Halloumi cheese , ended with an avocado and kale smoothie.
Highly recommend for breakfast or lunch after your long stroll at the darling Harbor.
Loved it! Hidden in a beautiful little segment of The Rocks in a dim, warm cosy interior. I loved the vibe of it. They have a really good menu of relatively healthy options. I had the frittata with lentil salad and my friend got the burger. Both of us really enjoyed the fresh produce and didn’t want to our meals to end!
The cafe is nice and clean. The belgian waffle was good, with gelato on top, and caramelized banana , hneycomb, and nuts on the side. The iced coffee however is overpriced.
Went to a walk on the Rocks and stopped by this place to have a brunch.
I had poached eggs, avocado, halloumi, mushrooms, multigrain toast and a long black.
Food was delicious and service was really great.
It was a good time and I’m getting back another time.
The staff didn’t interact that much but when they did, they were genuinely polite and made sure that we were alright. The food was presented nicely and served fast which was good.
worth a visit to this trendy & busy cafe. friendly staff.
wish there was a bit more to the breaky menu, however what they have is still great & delicious.
Had a nice iced latte here this afternoon. $6 each which is fine considering it is very close to circular quay. Happy to drop in here again in future.
This cafe completely exceeded my expectations. I came here for a team lunch and everyone was impressed. Food was great as well as the service. Reasonable prices. Just the perfect lunch spot
Hmm I think I was expecting a lot more from a cafe with such a long history and such great reviews.
I had the raw & roasted mushrooms on spelt with an added poached egg and a piccolo latte. It was nice, with a generous serve of mushrooms and the quality of ingredients was apparent, but the individual elements of the dish didn’t really gel together and as others have mentioned, there is no table service so it kind of feels like being in a upscale Starbucks or food court.
AMAZING! Food was so quick and fresh. Accomodate to all dietary requirements and so yummy! Best coffees also! Definitely recommend for a place to visit when in Sydney!
Finally a health food cafe that serves fresh, tasty meals at a reasonable price. This place always has a range of great breakfast and lunch options, salad specials and healthy alternatives on the run. Just what you need on a quick lunch break or between meetings. I was very impressed by the salad bowl I received, the portion was very generous. All the ingredients complemented each other, were crisp and dressed perfectly. I'll definitely be back to sample some more menu items!
This was our go to breakfast and coffee spot while we were staying at the rocks. It's a great casual place with good coffee and well priced, good food. Plenty of healthy and gluten free options which is great while you're on holiday.
Decent food but the service was a let down. Staff were not friendly - hardly smiled - and it was such a mission to get a table.
The place is busy but I wouldn't race to return.
I ordered eggs and avo...
Coffee was average.
Most major cities have a handful of tourist hotspots – those places that every traveller has on their must see/do/photograph list. In Sydney, my home for the last 10 years, the two most iconic draw cards are the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. A third, lesser known one, is a historic labyrinth of cobbled streets called The Rocks.
It was literally a mission to find this cafe but once we did we were glad! It had such a positive vibe and everyone seemed to be enjoying their food while chatting away. There's no table service which wasn't too bad and made the process much faster. The lady that took our order was really friendly and bubbly. I ordered eggs with toast and some avocado and prosciutto on the side. The dish was so nicely presented and the coffee was terrific. My friends also enjoyed their dishes. It was a great place to enjoy breakfast before completing the harbour bridge climb!
A cozy place to chill, dine and relax. The cold brew coffee was nice and there's lots of choice for brekkie and lunch. The Beetroot stuff I ordered had too many beetroot..not if u are a beetroot lover!! The scone is too special to describe but it was nice. It's a place I would go again!
Went for breakfast. Love the environment and the cafe has a great set up. Very relaxed. Good coffee, tried their specials....just a bit weak for my Melbourne palate but the piccolo latte was perfect. Food was lovely and fresh. Quick polite service. It would be nice though if you could get your egg fried as nit everyone loves a poached egg. Bacon was lovely but really needed to be cooked more. Would definitely return for brekky but would request crispy bacon 😂
Nice cosy little place with gourmet food! I had a flat white and ham baguette with coleslaw. Great little spot. With a steve aoki look a like as a barista! 8/10 for the coffee.
Fantastic location. We ordered the smoked salmon and lettuce. I was so blown away by the amazing smoke salmon taste which was clearly not from the packets you can buy at Coles. The lettuce actually tasted like lettuce. I did get to sit on a comfy seat. I give this place 5 stars!
Went there today for brunch with a group of 3, nice set up at the rocks, indoor and outdoor seating, a lot of options for breakfast and lunch. I went for the breakfast panini, spicy baked beans and a cold brew. The price is pretty friendly for the rocks area.

The shop locate closed to The Rock Discovery Museum,I love the milky Morning Black Tea and Pork Neck Burger is so nice as well. Food is quite take a long time.
Came here for brunch. Ordered the belgian waffle with honey bacon and a mocha. The food was amazing. Coffee was divine. Reminded me so much of Melbourne. Highly recommend it. The staff were very warm and friendly.
Food was pretty good. Had a lovely breakfast, however it was not matched by the coffee which let things down. Had a strong latte that was bitter and acidy, disappointing after such nice food.
Excellent food & excellent coffee just be prepared for slow service and having to wait...Had the shashuka which was jam packed full of flavours.
We were around the area for the Aroma Festival in The Rocks so decided to drop in for their special which was the Coffee Tasting Sampler.
The service is quite friendly and the waiter took the time to explain each of the coffees to me which all of them consisted of their Ethiopian blend done 3 different ways. They were Cold-Brewed Coffee (quite nice and had a nice flavour to it), Flat White (my favourite as usually have my coffee with milk and had a unique taste to it and wasn't sure if it was the coffee or the milk), and Filter Coffee (my least favourite as had a slight bitter taste to it as I don't usually do black coffee). The Lemongrass & Ginger Tea had a pleasant mild taste to it which was soothing.
Busy little cafe in the popular Rocks district. Coffee was good and service was quick. Had the waffles with honey bacon and ricotta & avocado. Both meals were delicious. Only thing I would question was the cost for the size. Otherwise food and service was great.
I ordered the avo and ricotta with poached egg. The Food was great and delicious. The table was tiny and the wait long but i would definitely come back :) :) :) :) :) :)
Cool place! A good find. Friendly service, great food and good coffee. We had the avocado on sourdough and Bircher muesli- both were very tasty :)
Excellent!!! Great staff, great coffee, The Bomber is the best iced coffee I've ever had!!! BTW, banana bread is also tasty. Cosy experience in The Rocks.
I had the 'smoked chicken club sandwich' which was delicious! I asked for earl grey tea but received some other sort which was okay, the teapot was adorable. One of my friends had some sort of pumpkin on bread, which was pretty good. Another had the queenie wrap which was very nice, and another had the zucchini frittata (it was good too). The restaurant is beautifully set-up, could probably use more tables as we had to wait a while. Service was great, the staff were very smiley.
The Fine Food Store does good and healthy food.
It's located in a small street in the Rocks which does the place really nice.
And if you need a wifi it's free^^
I'm not sure about the previous bad reviews of this place, but for us, breakfast was perfect - two days in a row. Poached eggs and sourdough and avo and ricotta with poached eggs. Lovely flavours. Perhaps staff/owners have taken the advice of the reviewers and picked up their act. But we were greeted with heaps of friendly staff and waited only about 10 minutes for our meals - both in busy times.
S said the coffee was good, but probably better up the street at Eric's Cafe in Harrison St. I had a decaf and it was a bit sour. The peppermint tea was a okay.
Great space - great music too. The music might be a bit loud for some, but we love it that way (we're in our 40s and it's great to have a bit of loud music in the morning).
There's heaps of seating and no worries about finding a place. Would definitely return here next time we're in Sydney.
Had poached egg and toast with extra blackbudding and salmon. Nice atmosphere and my girlfriend had spicy beans. Toast cold. Bit spicy but thats her opinion. Taste great in general. Good coffee. Good start to the day.
Always great service. Good coffee. And tasty food. Can be a little overpriced in some things, but pretty damn good all the same. I highly recommend the ham and cheese baguette if your hungry. Super tasty!
Awesome brekky. Had the poached eggs on Spelt toast it comes with a generous serving of spinach leaves and added bacon and spicy beans.. It was huge but swimming all day like a Sweetlips you need to start the day off well! Thanks Thefinefoodstore 🐠
It took about an hour and a half for breakfast to come and couldnt order the kale dish as they said its finished ! Luckily we had a lot of catching up to do . All and all the food was good and good portions .

In sydney for a few days so decided to give 'Sydneys best breakfast' a shot. Firstly TOO LOUD, seriously turn it down. I can still feel the bass in my chest.
The food was yummy but not what we ordered. Ordered the "breakfast panini" but instead out came a brioche bun - the worst trend of the 21st century -
The bomber (iced coffee and chocolate) was great, husband wasnt a fan of the iced coffee as too bitter.
Located down a nice laneway just off the rocks markets; the fine food store had amazing poached eggs, thick juicy bacon, delicious sausages and beautiful coffee. Will certainly go back there again when in town.
Best waffles I've ever had, except after renovating, they added unneccessary ingredients (banana and walnuts) and jacked up the price. But I'll still keep going back for more, because they are that delicious! Lovely setting for a morning breakfast as well.
Two breakfasts. Eclectic menu. Prompt and classy. Food well cooked and presented. Coffee good. Buzzy yet relaxing. Sit outside if weather good. Recommend.
We've been here several times and today was Sunday breakfast. On arriving the cafe has had a huge transformation, I can see why..needing more table room but personally I liked the feeling and personality it had before which was more personal. Now a little stark and business like. but having said that food was good and I always enjoy there coffee which has alwayd been well made. The staff are friendly and helpful. There seemed a little less choice today than in the past but another enjoyable experience here..
Lovely atmosphere, we had amazing breakfast and lunch here. Great selection of dishes with fresh ingredients. My partner got a bit of a random dish which wasn't exactly what he ordered but delicious all the same. Service v quick and staff were able to give full details of what the dishes contained. Cold drip coffee though... We just don't get it!
Best Takeaway Brekky. Gorgeous little cafe at The Rocks. We got takeaway sourdough with ricotta and honeycomb, it was absolutely divine! Would return just for that. Excellent takeaway breakfast options, along with an extensive dine in menu which sounded amazing!
Quality wholesome tasty food. Good value. Very good coffee. Just avoid the mid morning office tea break rush. It's obviously very popular!
Open daily for espresso, breakfast (breaky), brunch, and lunch, The Fine Food Store is located in the Rocks on Kendall Lane & Darlinghurst on Oxford Street and is worth searching out. I walked past it the day before and thought it was a grocery store because of the name. But when I was looking online for a somewhere to eat with vegan and vegetarian options, The Fine Food Store ranked high on the list of must see places to visit. In addition to breakfast and lunch, they also have take out meals available. When you enter, you might feel a little overwhelmed as you'll immediately notice an abundance of food items available for purchase all around you. I browsed for a second and then went straight up to the counter. Place your order at the counter and then food and coffee is brought to your table. TSG Tip : If you feel lost or confused, don't hesitate to ask for help. Service here is outstanding and everyone was more than happy to answer my questions. If you don't ask, you'll never know. The menu is cleverly presented on a wooden clipboard at the counter. I grabbed one and decided to head outside to look over the many choices. Seating inside My view at breakfast Outside you'll find long wooden tables outside, which were perfect for us despite the rain, but as the area is covered, it wasn't a problem. Most of the other diners chose seats inside so we had the outside area all to ourselves. Cute little plant along with salt, sugar, etc. at the table There's no better way to start breakfast than with my idea of the
The Quality of the food there is always fresh. They generally prepare their displayed baguettes, pies and salads in the morning and they continue to top up and make the food during the day as they get sold. They also have cooked meals as well which changes everyday so they have a wide variety of food to offer. As the Cafe offers really fresh healthy food it's not always my to-go place for lunch but every once in a while its great to have a healthy cleansing day! Especially for those who want to have a healthy diet, this place is definitely your to go place! The Service here is pretty good. The waitresses and waiters are really friendly and they have small chit chats . When it's lunch time, they do get very busy and because they have a small

I had breakfast at the lovely "The Fine Food Store" , in one of my favourite parts of Sydney, The Rocks. The menu options are cheap and sound appetising. The cafe itself is very hipster and spacious with seating arrangements to cater for singles (like me) and larger groups. If you like/love this place be sure to also check out their sister shop "The Fine Food Store Coffee Bar"
Trying not to show any signs of food envy, I couldn't go past the Croque Sir. Looking like melting goodness, the toastie with prosciutto and gruyere cheese was topped off with a poached egg and smothered with garlic aioli... yes, it was quite nice.
The Fine Food Store is a haven in this touristy area of The Rocks. Head down Kendall Lane for some gourmet sandwiches and robust coffee with caramel undertones.
The breakfast brioche was a work of art, and I loved the combination of grilled banana, honeycomb, gorgeous slivers of macadamia and buttery brioche. I would have loved a little more butter, honey, or some kind of sauciness to mop up with the c
Visitors from Melbourne will feel immediately at home when they spot their beloved magic coffee on the menu. Yes, that's right. The magic has made it to Sydney.
Very busy and waited longer than would have liked (coffee long finished before any sign of food) but scrumptious factor of haloumi and spicey tomato egg dish made up for the wait.
Great for brekkie!. Experienced a few misses for breakfasts in the Rocks area, but had a fantastic meal at the Fine Food Store. Exceptional coffees, also...
Best breakfast in The Rocks
Nice little walk through the rocks this morning and came across this little hidden gem of a cafe . They have a wide variety of food and I picked the classic bacon and poached eggs. Price was very fair for the location and food was out fairly quickly and tasted amazing . The eggs were absolutely perfect . I asked for extra butter in the side and they didn't hesitate or ask for additional charge as some places would. They were very pleasant and great staff very friendly . Will definitely come again. Thanks for the amazing breakfast and kind hospitality guys !! Only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because you didn't have coke a cola . But that's just me being picky .
Visited on a busy Saturday for lunch. Sat outside on the cost porch. Menu has quite a few options including some vegetarian ones. Nice selection of drink options as well. Order at the counter and food is served at your table. Food taste and quality are good, service is fast and serving sizes are Northern European. Prices are average for the area, friendly staff.
A lovely quiet setting off the harbor. Good service. Fairly costly but this is the area. Coffee was good. Only cups available and it was not hot. Tasty breakfast. Some different things to choose from. Photo taken after I dissected! It was good
Tucked away in a corner of The Rocks Centre, the Fine Food store is a warm and inviting cafe serving breakfast and lunch. The menu is somewhat limited, but you should be able to find a dish to your liking. The grilled polenta was superb, tasty and piping hot, and highly recommend. The staff are friendly, prices slightly high due to location. Would recommend this cafe.
4.5 here for me! Maaaan my banana bread dish was soooo good........ first bite I was like NOOOooooo it's too good.. my goodness definitely add that bacon srsly, but they don't give you much..? Price is like.. a bit high considering what you're getting, but then they taste so good so it's like, kinda worth it. Maybe. I dunno wish they gave me more bacon xD my hubby had brioche burger? He liked it very much but again we felt it was a little overpriced, but maybe they use really good ingredients I mean the place is called fine food xD should be called great food. 👍 their bacon is good.
This Cafe ticks all the boxes, great food, location and service. The Cafe has a nice and relaxed atmosphere with lots of indoor plants as well as a nice selection of baked goods.
The breakfast menu is robust with options for all tastes and dining requirements. Things get expensive when you start adding extras that make the meal - eggs/chorizo - the only negative to this Cafe.
The coffee is great and they use good beans.
Would highly recommend a visit.
Healthy choices, great variety and really welcoming staff. What more could you want. Tucked away in a little alley in the rocks this place is a true gem. We ended up visiting for breakfast and lunch on our little staycation and we loved everything about this little cafe. The soft chicken tacos were amazing
We discovered this place by chance and so glad we did. Awesome smoothies, really good coffee and super friendly service. The menu was packed with healthy, tasty options. Situated in a quiet and beautiful historic laneway, we love sitting outside but inside has loads of character too.
