The Opera bar has to be one of the best bars in Sydney I have visited (at least in a tourist location that is)! Very friendly and helpful staff! An awesome location and seating area! Patrolled by the sea gal patrol dog! Very quick service! Delicious food and extremely good cocktails! Some of the most delicious I’ve had! Stunning presentation! All around an amazing experience and for sure will be returning!
What a wonderful find on our second day in Sydney! Great vibes with live music and delicious margherita pizza.
And the view? Wow. Absolutely breathtaking. They even had heaters to take the chill off the cool night air.
Friendly and welcoming staff, awesome location, picturesque view, great vibes, and tasty food. All right on point. Well done. It was a relaxing way to end a long day. Thank you.
Came here for a light night drink, definitely recommend for the view. Can be sometimes hard to find a table and seat, but just be patient and one will become available. Kudos to the management for their adherence to covid protocol. Plenty of options on tap. Cocktails started around $18.
Went for a drink and lunch on a Sunday. Quite busy and it’s choose your own adventure for seating. People are like the seagulls that frequent the bar, poised and ready to snatch a table when it becomes available. Speaking of seagulls, cover your food (it comes with a mesh cover) as the seagulls will literally swoop in and steal your food right from the plate, especially the sashimi! Staff are friendly and clean up empties well. Good food selection but is a bit small on choice - pizzas and burgers but we ordered the Hot Seafood platter to share with 2 people and it was perfect for light lunch. Tasty and fresh but you are mostly paying for the location. Definitely a must try for the instagram photos.

💎The Layout: The whole place is kind of long and the tables are spread out too. There were 5 booths on the inside and a majority of the tables had 2 or 4 seats.
The outside had a lot of benches and seats closer to the ocean. The benches also had umbrellas to cover them. There were a few long jars/glasses with a flame in each of them for display.
There are also some seats that have pads on them that are at the outside part and you can see the buildings. And there are also a few 2 seater tables.
🎲My experience: The food was very fast especially for a pizza. I came at about 6:40pm on a Wednesday and it was quite crowded on the outside but only a few seats were taken inside. The staff was very friendly and helpful. When I went to order food the staff there gave me a specific number to put on my table.
When I came there was a band playing live music, but later on when they took a break there was music from a speaker, either way I’m not sure if they have live music in the daytime or only at night.
📐Likes: I like the music a lot because it goes very well with the looks and atmosphere of the place. At this time of the year it can be a bit chilly and the opera has a nice warm temperature on the inside, not so much the outside though.
The pizza I got was wonderful (margarita pizza), it was crusty, not too heavy, not too greasy, and to be honest, I didn’t feel like I ate too much after eating, if my pizza was a person it’d be a really put together person haha. I also got a passion fruit sundae and it was a nice balance of sour and sweet and a good mix too.
🪂Extra Info: A nice idea for going to the opera bar is going to the opera first and then later on you could hop by the opera bar and possibly have some drinks or just have a meal.
You can of course come alone but I think the opera bar is a nice place for someone to go with family members or friends, it’s also not that bad of a place to go for a date.
The menu’s selection was a really good amount of dishes. There were salads, pizzas, snacks, drinks, seafood, and more. I was also surprised to see that the prices weren’t as expensive as I thought since the place looked kind of high class and in a pretty good location and also close to the opera.
I would love to come back again and try more dishes.
Stopped by the opera bar for a quick snack before a show at the opera house.
We ordered several cocktails and some snacks including guacamole.
The cocktails were great
The food was tasty.
The location is convenient and fun.
There was plenty of staff working that evening and while most were professional, we only found a few of them friendly.
The prices were on the higher end which is in line with what I’d expect for the location.
Nice atmosphere, feeling very calm to have few drinks along the harbour and enjoy the view. Price is reasonable and quick service too. I’ll definitely visit again.
Best view of opera house from this bar. Went twice during our recent visit to Sydney. Food was average but drinks were worth the price. But what sold me on this bar was its location. Worth a visit and experience. But be careful if you sitting outside from seagulls as they try and snatch your food.
