Gorgeous atmosphere, friendly staff great food and great sweets, I highly recommend this beautiful place.
Always visit The Grounds every time I’m in Sydney. It’s an amazing place with fabulous food, as well as excellent customer service. Highly recommend - love it!!
Such a lovely experience. Beautiful place with gorgeous café, with excellent food coffee and service. Highly recommend
Loved this place, good atmosphere and beautiful place. Food is fresh and good, staff is friendly. Highly recommended. 👌🏻
The food here is honestly the best. The menu is always creative and executed perfectly. The potting shed at night is a well kept secret!
incredible, sensational I loved, It was one of my best tours in sudney, wonderful restaurant, amazing place to take pictures .....
This place is like an oasis. A celebration of old made useful again. Lots of greenery and places to sit and eat.
What a truly beautiful experience Th Grounds of Alexandria offers.
Upon arriving in Sydney from Melbourne, I was constantly told to visit this place - and it did not disappoint.
Venue: just wow, you just want to take a photo of everything. We had our brunch in The Garden, and it’s visually beautiful.
All corners of this venue are very well thought out, and visually pleasing.
Even had animals in a pen and a beautiful flower shop. The carts are a beautiful addition as was the ‘kissing booth’. A photo opportunity at every turn.
Food: tasty food, well presented on the plate. Took a bit long to come out, but wasn’t too fussed.
Drinks and coffee were pretty awesome too.
Service: great service. Very much liked the lady at the entrance managing the people coming in, making sure people adhering to Covid restrictions.
Table service was also good, attentive and pleasant to deal with.
Overall, highly recommend this place - definitely should be on everyone’s list.
Indeed a place not to be missed visiting upon in Sydney. Amazing themes everytime you visit and i loved the classic avacado on toast 😋
As a popular local and tourist destination, expect to be in the waiting list to dine at their cafe/restaurant.
Their fully online ordering/paying system is great. No need to call the waiter to order food. Just scan the menu via your smartphone.
Coffee was amazing and food was not bad. A little bit pricey in my opinion but I think people mostly dine there to enjoy the ambience.
The burgers and chips are delicious for being slightly overly priced. Decent portion size too. The hot chocolate from the cafe/drinks place is nice too. A lovely atmosphere to always eat here. Will recommend and come back.

We attended a full day work conference at The Grounds. The spaces are fabulous - lots of beautifully divided areas with lots of natural foliage and rustic furniture. There are beautiful flowers for sale and the grounds are an instagrammers dream. While many areas are under cover the venue is largely outdoors so we really struggled with the heat and humidity.
Food was excellently dinne - a good variety of healthy options, decent coffee and plenty of variety.
We were a group of 350 so while we felt they were a little overwhelmed in the kitchen no one went hungry.
Definitely worth a visit
One of the top places to visit when touring Sydney. Not only is the food excellent, but the service, interior design and atmosphere is to die for. Situated in a warehouse-like building, with a beautiful garden, their decorations and stalls change by the season which makes the table wait super enjoyable and fun. Definitely worth the hype!
The important thing to know before one visits this place is - the Grounds of Alexandria is a huge place and it has got three restaurants at the same location and each restaurant set up is quite unique from each other. I loved the one which is called a pottery.
This cafe was quite good but doesn't have AC and it can be a very bad experience to dine during afternoons especially when it's summer.
Food was quite good, even presentation of the food was good.
Certainly, it's one of the places to be visited in Sydney.
An amazing place where to go. I’ve been here few times and I really like the environment. There are different food and drink places to pick from, surrounded by flowers, nature and a couple of animals. Even if it’s often busy, it’s a place that calms me down.
Food is not bad but I think it's a bit overhyped. Wait times are long. Bathroom facilities are minimal. Petting zoo is nice.
I love the grounds of Alexandria, mainly because of the beautiful decorations in accordance to different events or movies. I really enjoyed the winter themed one in representation of the new movie Frozen. The food there is good and tasty, and service was quick. Would come here again.
Loved the themed decorations, didn't even mind the wait for a table as they have a really good Texting system so they'll SMS you when your table is ready, meanwhile you can go explore the pastry, lemonade, flower stands and take some photos. The food was pretty heart and well made, generous portions and adds personality to the classic breakfast/brunch options. Had a great time!
Always chaotically busy and loud, the servers get the job done perfectly so hats off to them!
Never seem to be impressed with their regular coffees but their cold drinks are always great.
Food is amazing, quality and tasty.
The only time I had been disappointed was some lamb pot pie that was horrible tasting but everything else has always been great.
Favourite thing to get was the fried chicken sandwich but it’s not on the menu anymore.
Food was actually just fine. Though my friends really loved the chicken pie. There are several restaurants to choose from inside. Options are limitless yet they do not really fit my tastebuds. The place is really pretty and they always have some theme going on. Definitely recommend this place as a safe brunch options with a bunch of people with different dietary requirements.
I was a bit unsure coming here. It sounded like a cool concept but I wasn’t sure if it was overhyped. Well, hype is real, it rocks.
The grounds themselves are quite large, lots of stuff going on but relatively easy to navigate. Lots of picturesque spots to sit and chill. We went there on a Monday morning so it wasn’t too busy, but there was still quite a few people there. I can imagine weekends are crazy. We especially loved the little corner with hay and seats in the shape of a pig and a cow - great little breakout space to take your little ones away from the action.
We chose to eat in the cafe - although the garden bar area is probably prettier. The food was really, really good. I got the turkey toastie and it came with big slices of turkey breast, for some reason I was expecting shaved but this was better. Egg was perfect, mustard was quite spicy but a good addition. My husband’s big breakfast was great, and we enjoyed the little one’s hot cakes (they’re a bit bready in texture). The bread on my toastie was fab (toasted on site). Excellent coffee.
Not the cheapest of brunches, but also not the most expensive and I actually believe it was reasonable value given the serving sizes and the whole experience you get here. Definitely a recommended weekday brunch venue!
It is one of those eateries where you want the fancy dining experience.
As they have good reviews everywhere, it was very fun experience.
We went to early morning to avoid the rush on public holiday. Before we were seated, they mentioned about public holiday surcharge. I don't like this surcharge, but it is better they informed us before seating not at the payment.(15%they charge)
Juice arrived earlier than coffee, around 5 mins after ordering. Then food arrived in 10 mins. The place was getting full, but we were impressed the quick serving. They were good presentation and taste great. The zucchini fritters were the best one I've tasted at any other cafes.
We took a baby and used a high chair. It is lower than the table. If it was higher, we were easy to feed her.
Toilet is rundown. Only 2 cubicles for female. Not sure for Male but they made queue outside too.
The complex has different outlets as well as small animal farm. Just chicken and pig when we visited, but my bub enjoyed. Decor at the entire area were great, quick photo sessions here and there ... I recommend to go there early morning for parking and avoid unwanted waiting or crowd.
A sister restaurant to the one in the city which we have been before. My daughter brought us here over the long weekend and we had a wonderful time exploring the grounds after breakfast, which was amazing! We ordered the big brekkie box, some avocado on toast and omelettes to share. Also had to try their banana shake. Portions were big and we were groaning when we left the table! Such a beautiful tasty breakfast with nice ambience and friendly staff. We will be back again soon!
If you’re a big fan of Westie brunch food, highly recommend this place! Super tasty, very aesthetic, and you can lose an hour easily just walking around in the surrounding spots.
When everytime I come here, I always experience something different. Kid-friendly place with little animals at the garden. Perfect sweet treats and chilling place
Fun place to visit on a recent trip to Sydney. Went twice. Quite possibly the best coffee I've ever had. Enjoyed the food in the main cafe. The grounds are beautiful and worth the crowds.
Wonderful full experience cafe/restaurant with seemingly always a special event or decoration on the premises. Great for kids with the animals, stalls, carnival atmosphere. Food is very good too, lots of care taken to make it look beautiful and very tasty. Only downside is crowds and parking. Saturday 10:30am, it's crazy. I only go mid week or very early on the weekend
My cousin took us here for brunch on Sunday for last visit to Sydney. He said the place is instagramable. So we went and this place is really pretty, funky and Instagramable as recommended. We ordered poach eggs with steak and potatoes hashed, buttermilk cake and some coffee. Place is very busy, foods are ok only but the ambience and decor are really nice. They changes the theme every month which is quite cool.
This place is so beautiful, it literally satisfies all the five senses (especially sight). At the time we visited it was decorated with an Aladdin theme and it feels like you've been transported to the Agrabah.
The cafe is bustling and has a nice rustic feel to it. The meals are beautifully plated and taste as good as they look. Coffee was also outstanding.
Would recommend 👍
#probably the most hyped cafe in Sydney. Lovely floral aesthetic cafe with immersive decor - booking is strongly recommended as wait may be 45min-1hr. All round great dishes - deconstructed drinks are an enjoyable experience, burger & big breakfast are very nice #thiccc chips, sweet dishes are also very beautifully plated. Favourite are the themed cakes - priced around $24 each and serves 4-5ppl - they're always gorgeous with delicious flavours (a totally underrated birthday cake). The grounds Alexandria changes its decor & themed desserts + drinks every 2-3months so there's always something interesting to come back to. Been there several times and it's always a fun place
Loved the aesthetics of this brunch spot!
Went on Sunday so the market was also open, very cute trinkets and snacks available.
Waiting times were approximately 40 minutes for the cafe.
The brunch was very worth the value and presented beautifully, tasted great as well!
Very busy and and seemed a little short staffed however the staff were very lovely and accommodating!
Been here a few times. Today I visited for the Dessert event at The Grounds. I love how they decorate everything. Fab!! Literally love it. Definitely coming back the next week or so at night time for the second time around 😊
It’s a nice place. A bit overrated, but nice and different. Good variety of food and it’s made fast and all the food is quite lite. I’ve been on separate occasions and there are busier times -whilst the wait time can be long the food is made relatively fast. They use Campos coffee.
I love coming to the Grounds of Alexandria. Such a nice, happy vibe to the place and the decorations are always really nice. Came to this cafe and had a mocha. It was presented in a fun way. Ordered the winter vegetable salad and side of polenta chips. Both were delicious. The vegetables were fresh and sweet. The polenta chips were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The aoili it came with was yummy. Would come back even just for the mocha.
If you are after a big breakfast in beautiful surroundings, then this is the place for you! We spent a good while exploring all the nooks and crannies before settling down to enjoy their classic big brekkie. You definitely get your moneys worth and it is yummy, especially the spiced chorizo! We love this place and will be back for more. Lunch next time!
Beautiful place with yummy food! Far outlived my expectations. Waiting time is a bit long though because this place is always packed - for obvious reasons!
Really aesthetic place to visit and the food was good. The only downside was that it was very busy so there was quite a wait. However, it was worth it.
Such a fun and beautiful compound for my Sunday brunch. There are lots to see, eat and drink, and the whole ambience is just perfect :)The food tasted good and felt guilt free, and the coffee were so fragrant. The cakes were presented so beautifully and looks too pretty to eat!
But the place can get too crowded and rowdy due to tight spaces for the waiting line. Nonetheless, service was smooth and all went well on my visit :)
personally was a bit hard to navigate through the grounds but it felt like a completely different world! So much to see and try - a fun eating experience
The Grounds is such a beautiful spot and must visit in Sydney. Lined up for brunch and was told the wait was 30 mins. But didn’t even mind because we spent that time exploring the grounds. serving sizes were big but still delicious. Can’t wait to return and try more.
Love the place! It has a thematic ambience and it was very crowded. The food were nice, but not so special. But i really like the atmosphere, the ambience and the place they’re created. It feels like we’re in the village outside the city.
First time visit for coffee and lunch and wow was my first impression. The visual offerings are impressive and as its currently themed as Aladin it's stunning. There are so many options to grab some food and coffee from ordering a burger and sitting at share tables in a heated area to a table in a large old industrial fitted cafe or eating in what looks like a jungle of pants. So much for the senses to take in. The coffees were great. We had a collection of doughnuts, jam with rose sugar, Nutella and cinnamon that area cooked in front off you. We also had the lemonade from another street style cart... very nice with a lovely lemon twist. There simply so much to choose from here that it's too difficult to describe, you need to experience it yourself, but be warned that it does get very busy!
Food was outstanding, the staff were very friendly and super helpful when requesting changes to our meals.
The food was also delivered quite quickly considering it was quite busy when we attended
Popped in for brunch with the family and we were all sooooo impressed. I got an acai smoothie which was nice and refreshing and to eat I had the 'fresh summer fruit plate' which was nice and fresh. My sister got the 'avocado on toast' which she really liked and I tried some and it was so good. My Mum had the 'free range egg omelette' which she was impressed with and my Dad had the 'grounds big breakfast' and he really liked it. We also got some cakes from the cabinet upfront as they looked so cute and they tasted so good. All the food is so tasty and presented so well - perfect for photos. I 100% recommend and I will definitely make sure to come back next time I'm in Sydney.
This place is real beautiful and I heard they change their theme quite often. They have amazing food options, presentation is just so unique and lovely. Fell in love with this place already!
There was this big queue when we went but the way there is this amazing system in place to make you comfortable in there and relish as quickly as possible.
Great food, atmosphere and location, it’s a bit hard to find parking but totally worth it!!
Highly recommend this joint, oh and they have animals. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Loved the mango smoothie at this place. The ambience and food both are absolutely good. You will fall in love with the decor. I have been to a very rare places like these where you would to get clicked .
Came here for a friend’s wedding. Venue was beautiful, catering was delicious and service was impeccable. There was so much attention to detail - the waiters actually took away my friend’s orange juice because they realised they had squeezed a batch that didn’t taste so good, and this was without my friend saying anything! Pretty impressive.
Here’s a secret: you can just go in here to look around and take some pictures without necessarily buying anything. No waiter/waitress that will chase you around or anything like that. Haha! Love it how they change the decor every season. Always photogenic, always soothing for the eye. Also, try the nutella/strawberry-filled doughnuts sold at one of the carts in the hallways!
They know what they’re doing and they do it well.
The dishes are great - great presentation. Great flavour. And efficient.
The staff are generally quite friendly considering how busy they are running around everywhere. There’s often a wait on the weekends, but there is a system in place to get you in there and eating as quick as possible.
Lucky the venue is nice so you can wander and find other things to keep you busy whilst you wait.
The place is vibrant and with refreshing interiors.
A 40 minute waiting till you get a table inside the café on a Sunday, meanwhile you can have lemonade , salads and chips. The avacado toast was good, didn't like their sourdough though. The coffee was amazing and the cherry on the cake was the Affogato (Tiramisu cake and ice creams with Espresso shot) exceptional...!
Food: 3/5
Ambience: 5/5
Came here for a birthday celebration so we had a breakfast set menu in the patio. They served up fruit platters, pastries and granola. All were quite tasty, not amazing though. Absolutely loved the exterior and vibes of the venue!
This place is one of my favourite in Sydney. Absolutely beautiful! The only downside of this place is that food I ordered was average for the price.
My friends took me out for my birthday lunch, though the place was totally crowded, but yet we managed to find a table still and grab some amazing food and their services was quick and simple, with no hassles and confusion.
The ambience makes it a great time at the place.
Love the theme that they always change every season I think 😊😊 we went for brunch or just afternoon coffee.. never fail!! Always serve great food and coffee 👌👌 they have outdoor and indoor seats. If you don’t mind for a quiet long queue you can go for the indoor seats.. but you have the same quality food and coffee if you choose for the outdoor seats.
The highlight of my trip to Sydney! I love the Grounds of Alexandria and will recommend it to everyone going there. I had brunch there with Dayane Feghaly and totally fell in love with everything.
Love everything about this place.
Food was bomb, service was very professional and the atmosphere is amazing.
The design of this whole place alone is just fun to hang out for half a day
Only con is waiting for a table at the cafe takes at least an hour, but there’s plenty of nibbles and refreshments outside
The potting shed is my favourite spot amongst the ground second to the pop up florist next door
My second visit to the grounds and still a pleasant experience with wonderful food, service and ambience. Wonderful place to spend a relaxing afternoon or evening!
The Grounds is my go-to place to eat when I’m in Sydney. The food and drinks are delicious and picture perfect. The Medditeranean Brekkie Bowl is the perfect veggie breakfast!
Beautiful place with so much to see! I recommend going on the weekend when they have little market stalls. The grounds is a great place for families, adults, teens, EVERYONE!! Their food is so tasty with many different dining options & meals that cater for all dietary requirements. Service & the wait for tables can be a bit slow due to the large amounts of customers, but the food is always worth it.
Drinks are sooo refreshing!! Perfect for a hot day. Presentation is always on point and I love how they’re natural, light and full of flavour. $9 is a little bit pricey for a drink, but I’d purchase again :)
So magical!! Everything is gorgeous, there are always so many people here taking photos, rightfully so ! It's like a different here, not to mention the food is pretty fantastic !! Cocktails are a must try here
A success story by the amount of people in The Grounds. Saturday morning and there were a LOT of people around.
Had to wait 1/2 hour for a table.
Service was friendly and efficient.
Food was good. Ordered the Whole Food bowl with tofu. The description of the dish mentioned eggplants and carrots but not much of it when the bowl arrived.
My friend ordered the zucchini tart. The pastry was light and crisp.
Another friend ordered the pasta with cuttlefish. It was light and tasty.
A nice setting, but always very busy. The food quality was good, and it was nice to eat in such a natural environment. It is a great place to look around as there are many places where you can eat. There are also stands selling lemonade and desserts. I recommend coming now (before Christmas) as they have beautiful Christmas designs :)
The food was very nice and it's presentation.
The staff were all friendly too. Very nice and clean restroom. The restaurant theme is artistic too.
My only concern is we are still in pandemic but there are a lot of people in the flower aisle walking and taking pictures. I guess they should limit the number of people walking there. It didn't feel safe.
Recommended for couple, group or family.
The grounds are really beautiful so, it was no surprise that it was busy with lots of people taking photos (including me!) We had to wait 20 minutes for a table in the cafe, but brunch was lovely. The choc & hazelnut shake was in particular delicious! Prices on the high side, but not extortionate. Friendly staff and service. The parking was a bit difficult, perhaps because it was such a busy day.
An ideal spot to dine out as well as hang out too. Great for events, casual meet-ups or walk ins too. All ages can enjoy this place and keep themselves entertained. Their themes keep changing every month, so keep a look out on their site for updates. They do cater for various dietary requirements including halal too. People are welcome here even for photos only too.
It's a pretty place with really nice atmosphere. However, I'd say the food (we ordered baked eggs) was just average. We liked the french toast though - maybe their bread and desserts are better than their savouries? Also, your experience could depend on where you are seating, so I recommend booking in advance to perhaps get a better table. We went at 10.30 am on a Monday but it was still crowded, so go there early if you can. Still worth visiting to see the garden with different themes
Alice in Wonderland theme, which my 70 year old mum loved. She absolutely enjoyed celebrating her birthday there. Next time we are booking the little room upstairs through the spiral staircase . We went early before 12 which was easy to walk around. Very popular place. ❤️👍🏼
It makes a lot of difference to order take away food. There are tables outside and it's very nice too, the food was delicious and the coffee very well prepared. The place is very nice inside and outside to walk.
the only thing that would change would be that they bring the drinks
with the food all together as we asked. but everything else is fine, we love coming here for breakfast.
Beautiful place just to even visit, though I would’ve loved to visit during one of their more known themes (eg. Alice in wonderland, specific Disney movies). Seemed like it was currently Easter themed with all the colours. | First time finally coming here and it seems like a chill place to be. | There was a cafe but don’t try it. You can book private dining. Saw people having little events are cute lunches with friends - bringing along food and decor. Also saw a wedding. | Did order the “fresh lemonade” but.. it was fizzy and just tasted like solo which I was very disappointed in as I love fresh lemonade. - my high rating for this place is the picturesque and vibes | Driving? You’ll find street parking close by
